    Death RP

-1 Death RP should remain as a reward for incredible RP and should never be expected by anybody. If you are being pursued by law enforcement and subsequently injured, you should expect to go to prison as opposed to immediately thinking about death rp and avoiding your prison sentence.
  2. Solitary confinement is never an addition to your sentence as it is internal policy and has no connection to the penal code which is what determines your jail sentence. Along with this, the solitary script is bound to the prison scripting and can only be used when a player is scriptly imprisoned. This suggestion does not keep you scriptly imprisoned, it just keeps you from teleporting out should you want to pursue more active prison RP. With any scenario the conclusion would be dependent on those involved in the active roleplay.
  3. Massive +1 to this and everything said below
  4. Hello all and thank you for reading over this suggestion. As many are aware, when you are imprisoned at Bolingbroke Penitentiary, once your jail time has expired you automatically spawn outside the gates near the front door. This can happen at any point in time and in no way takes into account any active roleplay that may be occurring. Many times if there is an active scenario happening, we may /pm the player and ask if they want to continue, at which point we OOCly get them back into the prison to continue the RP. What I am suggesting is a change to the automatic release system from prison. Whenever there is a server restart, we are presented with the option to teleport to another area or remain stationary. I believe it would be beneficial to have something similar to this appear when your jail time is up. Once your jail time has expired, players are presented with a popup asking if they are ready to be released from prison. From here, they have the option to click accept or deny. Should they click accept, the release would function as it normally does. Should the player deny automatic release, their clothing would return to normal and following conclusion of the roleplay, can exit the prison. Players of course would still have the option to just leave as usual but those who want to finish everything would have the chance. All in all, this suggestion is being made primarily to counter the sudden stop of roleplay in the prison when somebody is released. As we at DOC are attempting to provide more RP in the prison, it would be nice to see these scenarios through as opposed to the sudden stop, "oh... the release team took them" and break in immersion. Once more thank you for reading and please provide any and all feedback below!
  5. I'm absolutely in support of drug use being looked at and revamped with realistic small buffs and drawbacks. I personally don't agree with the ones suggested (extra health/inventory) but if there was a way to promote selling of drugs to players (not in place of drug drop offs, those should stay) then it would open an avenue of criminal roleplay and give players more things to partake in.
  6. @jeremyy - Perhaps a better way to suggest it would be to have inactive players reviewed more often or asset wipe for players who are given 3+ months before they may reappeal their ban. More often than not when given such a long time prior to reappealing, there is something significant on the player's record. As currently stated I am -1 for this suggestion as permanent bans can occur over honest mistakes which is why players can be successful in their appeals after further review of their current punishments and history in the community.
  7. -1 my thoughts are in line with the other posters, we do not need OOC limitations on each and every situation involving money/items. There are ways to properly sell vehicles and houses to avoid scams. Also nobody is just going to leave anything over an imaginary 150k cap, that would make no sense. Please accept your losses. This is not a money grinding simulator, instead immerse yourself in the roleplay.
  8. -1 Under no circumstances should you be able to convert something purchased using OOC money into IC money. All that does is promote pay to win.
  9. +1 I've always viewed it as not realistic at all being able to hop into a vehicle with its engine turned off and just drive off with no keys or hot-wiring.
  10. I do completely understand your side, however, as stated by another poster, what if you were to just get minor things changed or just one thing adjusted by a slim margin? The way your suggestion reads is that the tiny change would make you completely unrecognizable to everybody which doesn't make sense.
  11. Some people have reasoning to know what's going on over department radio while off duty so I don't think connecting it to being on/off duty is the best idea.
  12. +1 under the conditions of... - Price is significant - Limited uses due to item deterioration - Not limited to official criminal factions The first two conditions would make it so the existence of serial numbers doesn't become a moot point. If a one time cheap purchase gave you the power to forever get rid of serial numbers, that would be too OP. Right now anybody can RP filing a serial number but the drawback is that they have to remember to do it again in 48 hours so it's always important to have that balance somewhere and in this case I think a hefty price and limited uses would be adequate. The third condition is because a file should be treated like bobby pins. Even though the only scripted use for the bobby pin is to lock pick, it's still sold in general stores because the item itself is not illegal, just what it's being used for.
  13. Hello Ms. Lopez, My name is Nicole Crawford and first let me say my sincerest apologies that you went through such an attack that resulted in disfigurement. Aside from that, I hope you are maintaining high spirits elsewhere in getting back on track. In regards to your nose, if you would be so kind, please provide me with your contact information and I can send you a text or call and discuss. I have my Doctorate in Medicine following successful completion of Medical School with one of my residency programs being in General Surgery. Although I did not complete a residency in Plastic Surgery, my medical school rotation through that department was successful and I have good hands for suturing should the need arise. Best, N. Crawford
  14. This is a really good train of thought! Perhaps an application can be put in with City Hall for a joint account and they get approved on a case by case basis after a thorough review of the application. Something like this would also be good for adding something to the present government faction.
  15. +1 to the original suggestion as well as the comment by @Xoza regarding taxes as this would be needed if implemented. I would also like to see a limit to how many people can access the account. Along with this, I would like for fines to only come out of your individual/personal account and still put you into debt.
  16. If the whole random items in the middle of the road destroying your car gets resolved then I would be very for this suggestion as I do feel that people have little to no consideration for their vehicle because the know if they spam the engine or wait a bit, it'll work again. If this was implemented then we could add to mechanic roleplay as well as have toolkits in the server.
  17. +1/-1 Having them unblocked would be a good idea if there was also a risk (ie: trains) to going inside. It's a really smart way to evade but it shouldn't be without possible consequence.
  18. 1. Please remove all mentions of locations where the speed camera may be/are as this can be metagamed. @HobGoblin @Hilbert 2. I'm not opposed to more speed camera especially considering the insane driving by people not even in a police chase. I would, however, like to see the automatic reckless charge removed if more cameras did make their way into the server.
  19. -1 We shouldn't have any reactions that can bring negativity to a post or make a mockery of it. We strive to maintain a positive and open environment on the forums. If you disagree with a post you have two options, either post a -1 and explain (if you are kind enough to do so) or simply move on. At the end of the day we are all trying to make the community better. Player reports on the forums shouldn't be laughed at, downvoted, etc. and the same goes for server suggestions made by players, no matter how silly or odd they may be. All this does is lead to negative feelings and another form of forum war when people are upset over something or don't like someone for whatever reason (IE: two groups of people in an IC disagreement and one group finds forum posts by the other and just downvotes them for no real legitimate reason related to the post and in turn artificially makes it seem like the suggestion, or whatever else, is bad).
  20. I don't know the specific reason they were hidden but it was in time with the punishment appeal guidelines changing to just using your character name as opposed to account name. It would be very unfortunate for somebody to go through old archived posts to find the account name of somebody with ill intent. It's still personal information that shouldn't really be exposed to anybody.
  21. -1 I see no benefit to having punishment appeals that have been closed to be viewable by everybody. Each appeal is personal and should remain as such. If you ever want to know the outcome of your friend's appeal, feel free to ask them privately. People shouldn't base their own appeals or knowledge of the rules on successful or denied appeals.
  22. Personally I would rather see more activities scriptly added to the prison as well as a nicely sized criminal update as opposed to recapping jail time. I also am not keen on the idea of specific individuals being able to counter a placed cap as that will only lead to tensions and debate regarding why one person had their cap lifted as opposed to another. 911 calls for PD/SD may be decreasing because criminals are getting smarter or because they are not committing crimes which should in no way lead to an OOC prison time cap. At the end of the day activity for any faction/player will ebb and flow as it should considering it's the nature of the beast. There are alternate methods that can be used IC such as conversations with the government regarding the penal code and how charges should be placed/adjusted based on scenario. For instance, take the charge of attempted murder of a government employee. If a criminal shoots into a group of multiple officers, I've seen that single charge get double, tripled, etc. Instead, it could possibly be deemed one offense and thus only a single charge. The same can be looked at regarding lesser crimes in combination with higher level felonies and what the most appropriate charges can be to have a balance. As a DOC worker I've seen 10-15s brought in who are non-compliant while the PD/SD officer is present and more charges get added in those few minutes. Valid? Yes technically. Necessary? In my opinion, not really and only seems to serve as a type of charge inflation. Overall -1 from me
  23. Hi there! I know I'm just another stranger on the internet, another random person pushing buttons on a keyboard, but I want you to know that you're not a loser and you do have people, you're not alone. You made this post and thought you were going to get negative comments but just take a look. You have a community of people from across the globe reaching out and wishing you well. Being a part of this community is more than in game money and assets and I hope one day you see that. I also hope you can find the strength to lift up your head and keep moving forward. There are resources out there that can help you and I do hope you turn to them in times of need. Please don't cry and please don't give up. You matter and you deserve to be happy. Sincerely, Somebody who cares
  24. I absolutely agree that a criminal who wears a mask will most likely wear gloves. On the same note, realistically, there are many avenues of investigation and forensic analysis available that aren't possible in the server. There always needs to be balance. What I don't want to see is a one-time purchase of gloves for $500 that you can keep forever to hide fingerprints. Over time gloves deteriorate, pick up oils, leave glove prints and fibers, etc. If a fair and even balance can be found then I say lets do it!
  25. +1/-1 The -1 comes from the idea of gloves becoming the new "meta" and abused almost like masks. The +1 because gloves would be a nice visual addition.
