  1. +1 It would be nice to see this as something available at MD for a fee
  2. It's just a sublisting on the powergaming rule regarding actions that have potential to influence future RP scenarios that's all. I can see where something like a file item would be useful for illegally selling legal firearms but I would just rather see roleplay of checking the firearm to make sure you are using the correct one that was scratched off previously or refiling the serial number after purchase to ensure the seller did it properly and have all of your evidence compiled should you ever need it. I just really don't agree with an item that can permanently change something with such long lasting effect but that's also just me.
  3. The suggestion in itself would give you an item that would circumvent a rule. Having a method of permanently removing a serial number blatantly goes against an already established rule in the server which falls under Powergaming. I believe nothing should be implemented that easily gives players the ability to influence future RP for an unlimited amount of time. People are already free to re-RP filing the serial number off a gun every 48 hours (should their character not have died and NLR triggered). Also OP mentioned tracing a gun IC does not match IRL and I commented on the need for flexibility in things like this due to ECRP still being a game. My -1 still stands. If you want to remove a serial number, do it RPly every 48 hours and keep time stamped evidence.
  4. While ECRP tries to mimic real life, there are some things that cannot be mimicked to pure perfection due to a multitude of factors and therefore things have to be simplified. Your example of the process to finding the owner of a gun also relies on the fact that these officers and departments IRL run on dedicated work shifts, are available when you need them, have a significant staffing size, etc. You have to remember that this is still a game, people aren't around 24/7 be it on shift or not. As far as the 48 hour rule for evidence - again yes, not fully realistic, but it's perfectly placed to prevent obnoxious powergaming and constantly limiting RP for others because of something that was done 6 OOC months ago (using 6 months as an example). -1 from me
  5. Good suggestion for opening the University, however, I would rather see it not geared towards legal government factions for a few reasons. The first reason is that while time consuming, people do enjoy training when new people join these factions and it's one of the best ways to get to know and prepare the newbies to the department. Second, some of the stuff listed has to do with specific divisions within these legal factions (EMS has Psych, Advanced Medicine, and BLS divisions all of which have their own training and duties). Third, teachers would have to be members of these legal factions to be able to properly teach these students and know about updated protocols. I would much rather see this suggestion geared towards the average citizen and giving them the tools and education to start their own businesses. As an example, John Doe wants to open up a restaurant in Los Santos. He then puts in an application with City Hall who then gives him a checklist of certificates/degrees he has to obtain from the University prior to them giving him the license. These can range from a Business Management degree to a Certification in Food Handling. Legal factions can work with City Hall if they want to offer specific classes through the University as well. Criminals can have even more solid legal fronts for their illegal activities by having a formally educated member owning and operating a business. Somebody can get a Finance or Accounting degree and work under the table for criminal organizations. Those are just a few ideas I can come up with off the top of my head. As stated previously, opening the University is an excellent idea but I advocate for shifting the focus and intent.
  6. I am mostly neutral for this but I just presently don't see the real need for it so I lean more towards a -1. As of right now there is a very high volume of criminals, this is something already known. Some criminals call 911 and others take their buddy to the hospital for a drop off. When at the hospital some people engage in roleplay with those around them. Right now, there is no consequence for going to the hospital if you are wanted or get hurt as a part of criminal activity so why the need for an alternate location? If there were actual consequences for going to Central, I could see this being more of a need. Along with that, this would reduce roleplay taking place at the hospital that comes from the foot traffic as a decent sized population of the server would no longer go there.
  7. Hiya! Medic here, both in game and in real life. First let me say that I did enjoy reading this "rant" and understand your points. Hopefully this will help give you a little bit of insight into some of the medical stuff you encountered. First, yes all medics have to ask for acceptance even from an unconscious and wounded man. The reasoning behind this is due to powergaming. No matter what your current state is, we still have to make sure that this is how you want to proceed. I have had multiple encounters with unconscious patients ICly, some of which roleplay as waking upon movement to the stretcher and subsequently become combative. There are also people who roleplay as being of heavier weight so the medic is unsuccessful is transferring them to the stretcher. The possibilities are almost endless when you are asked for acceptance, it's just up to you if you want to go a more complex route for your roleplay or not. Secondly, a gunshot wound to the gut is an injury that is very limiting to a medic. Realistically speaking, abdominal injuries with extensive bleeding require rushed transport for surgical intervention at a hospital. The types of injuries cannot be packed on scene nor pressure applied due to the unknown depth of the wound, impacted organs, and likelihood of increased damaged through uncontrolled non-surgical intervention. The goal of field intervention for an abdominal GSW is not to treat but instead to prepare the patient for transport (realistically this is known as a "load-and-go" case). RPly we encounter GSWs all the time and as all medics in LSEMS are not a real life medical provider, everybody does the absolute best they can and treatment guides are created loosely based on real practice to provide for ease of roleplay. In game, gauze is placed over the wound to absorb blood and also provide as a barrier to attempt reduction of blood flow and promote clotting. Again, at the end of the day it's still a limiting injury for the field and more of a surgical scene would be needed to properly treat. Apologies if that went a little too in depth in the second part, it's hard to explain where some treatments come from but I do hope this gives you some clarification regarding the two medic related questions.
  8. +1/-1 While I don't think a separate rule should be written, I do think there should be a better way for people to get back what they were wrongly scammed out of separate from the refund request system should they have proper evidence of a rule break. As an example, imagine both parties went through the whole RP process of signing documentation, confirming/handing over the amount of cash (/me opens the briefcase and checks for the agreed upon amount; /do Would there be $XX in legal currency?; /do Yes) and then subsequently gets scammed. If the worth does not meet the refund request minimum, the scammed party has no way of collecting what they lost even though the scammer lied in /do.
  9. -1 When taking your driving exam you are very well informed of the speed limits. Speed cameras will only ding you if you are not in compliance with these limits. It's as simple a matter as just abiding by the law to not get speeding tickets.

    Hidden Pocket

-1 from me When being frisked by any individual, they are thoroughly patting you down and going through your pockets to check for any and all items in your possession. Along with this, it does not make sense for a LEO to be able to see this pocket while every other person cannot. Some non-LEOs have very detailed RP of their frisk and to deny them the right to see this pocket does not make sense.
  11. This is probably the most well worded and emotionally driven suggestion I've ever seen. Massive +1
  12. -1 Plastic surgery can be done to make small alterations for your character's features while still keeping their overall look the same. For example, if somebody comes to the hospital for a nose job that surgery will not realistically make them completely unknown by people who knew them prior.
  13. +1 Good suggestion!
  14. I agree they shouldn't be godmode and something should be changed, please don't think I don't want that. It's just a matter of balancing realism and overall enjoyment for all parties. The DM and Fear RP rules are very big and heavy rules but of course nothing comes without flaws. If everything was perfect we wouldn't have player reports every day. I do hope that staff can have a chat regarding very specific scenarios where you can make an attempt to disable a vehicle.
  15. This still wouldn't alleviate the overpowered pendulum from swinging massively to the other side. There are a few things to take note of here... 1. Chain robberies exist, we all know this. Along with this, very unrealistic robberies also exist (you can even see people get robbed right outside of NCZ bounds). 2. Foot traffic doesn't exist much on the server because of the risk of somebody running up to you, drawing a gun, and then bam, Fear RP and robbery. Vehicles are heavily relied on for transportation everywhere, even just to go walking distance down the street. Combining those two points with the idea of changing the rule wording would basically provide nobody with any form of safe space which would again, swing the pendulum so heavily to the criminal side. Do you obey traffic laws? If so, you may want to stop stopping at the red lights because you can get a gun aimed at you and if you don't comply then your vehicle gets damaged via gunshots which will most likely lead to you being robbed, your car chopped, and now you have to wait hours for the to be available and you have to spend money to get it back... all from stopping at a red light. The exact same scenario could be said about driving down any street under the speed limit. How would anybody even know your specific speed limit to give them right to engage? You mention recognizing demands. Now what happens if your VOIP is lagging and you don't respond but instead keep driving? What if you're talking to a passenger? Mumbling to yourself (yes this is RP that people do using VOIP)? Blatantly ignore demands? Can't hear demands because you're blasting the vehicle's radio? Well now we speed right to attacking another player and player reports from both involved parties thus creating more work for staff, more blurred lines for rule breaks, etc. Please don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying that there shouldn't be a way to engage with somebody in a vehicle, but you do have to look at it from a larger perspective with power balancing. Blatantly removing vehicular protection from players would basically turn this server into deathmatching reports galore which nobody wants.
  16. The issue with this is that it swings totally in one direction or the other and there’s no real middle ground. With the way the rule is stated now, yes being in a running vehicle grants you massive amounts of protection. Taking that away would give us an absurd amount of vehicle shootings be it stopped, low speed, or even high speeds and then on to forum reports we go (even moreso if you attach a driving speed element). The Fear RP rule in itself is incredibly debilitating and in my opinion something has to be implemented to balance it which is vehicle protection. It’s not perfect by any means as things can always be improved but it really is a tough thing to come to terms with then you realize that the swing will just move heavily in favor of the opposite side to the point of being even more debilitating.
  17. Hello fellow players! Thank you for clicking this suggestion and taking the time to read through this. 1. Presently when you have stacks of items in your inventory, your only option is to "split" them which effectively takes the stack and cuts it in half. I am suggesting an addition to the interface which would allow us to specify how much of the stack we want to actually split off. I believe that considering we have limited inventory slots (not to be confused with weight capacity) this would be very beneficial. As a small example, if you have 5 tacos in your inventory and want to give somebody 1, you have to split twice (once to separate the 5 stack into a stack of 3 and 2, then once again to split the 2 into single units). 2. All areas and items capable of storing things (glovebox, trunk, fridge, etc.) have limited inventory slots which can make it impossible to utilize the full weight capacity if you have a lot of low weight items. I suggest reworking the inventory UI to allow for more physical slots for storage while at the same time leaving the weight capacity completely unchanged. Again, thanks for your time. Any and all feedback is much appreciated.
  18. A way to counter this would be to change the "split" system. Out of respect for OP I won't detail it but it would be nice to be able to type in how much you want to split.
  19. Massive +1 Also, kudos to you for doing the math!
  20. You have to remember that this is also a game and nobody wants to sit around for hours on end constantly recording/clipping and doing paperwork. Those in legal factions, especially PD, have a ton of paperwork following their time on duty as it already is. As far as the issue with "a cops word" goes, there are corruption rules in place which make it so this is possible. All in all, a legal system will take some time to implement and I'm sure that should it be considered, lots of time and thought will go into it. Right now, any issues with the way PD does things for arrests is technically an IC issue and should be brought up that way.
  21. You do realize that would not only create a massive amount of paperwork but also normal civilians don't have body cams yet crimes occur to them which they then report to police. As they don't have body cams to record ICly, no video can be posted. Even in the event that the citizen did have a body cam, you would effectively be requiring them to record, clip, and submit video evidence for every single crime they report to the police. No offense but that is a bit insane.
  22. We all mistakes as we are only human. Apologies on my end if anything stated by me came off as rude or insensitive. I'm glad we could get the callsign situation cleared. Best wishes to you.
  23. OP, pardon my intrusion, but you began your post by accusing an entire legal faction that is heavily monitored of breaking a server rule (powergaming) with seemingly no effort to seek clarification be it IC or OOC regarding police helicopter protocols so people involved can take this negatively. All in all, this doesn't seem to be a suggestion for the server and more so accusations/discussion. It has already been established that you were referring to the air unit's callsign as there is no magical xray drone in the sky at all times. With the clarification given to your original message, at this point do you have an actual server suggestion you would like us to weigh in on?
  24. To my knowledge, a judicial system is something that is being looked at, however, as stated by a few posters, it is a difficult system to implement. While it would be awesome to have a functioning judicial system, this doesn't come without massive problems that can arise, one of the biggest of them all is in regards to player availability. That being said, I would love to see a proper court system for high profile/high sentence crimes but not for small petty things as that would be almost impossible with how many people are apprehended every day throughout all timezones.
