There are going to be times when guards aren't around - remember we don't dedicate our lives 24/7 to the game. As asked above you, what are some things you would like to see that can improve prison RP? Of course that is apart from player availability.

NO LONGER LOOKING [BUYING] 1G or 2G Apartment ANYWHERE NO LONGER LOOKING
Aldarine replied to awp8883's topic in Classifieds
Hello There, I have multiple single garage apartments located in the city right off of Strawberry which puts you in close proximity to necessary locations such as the hospital, clothing store, gas station, etc. The purchase price is well within your budget and I can even provide you with a rent to own option so you don't have to spend all your hard earned money in one go. Feel free to contact me via text or call for further information. I can be reached at 557-1669. Also, for your peace of mind, I am a government employee so you need not worry about scams or ill intent. Best Regards, Nicole Crawford -
Good Day! I do hope you've found somewhere to rest that's warmer than your car, especially with all the snow we've been getting. If not, I have multiple 1 garage apartments available for rent and would be more than happy to beat out any rental offer you've received thus far if interested. I can be reached via call or text at 557-1669. Best Regards, Nicole Crawford

-1 The only time an alias should get wiped is through a CK which is presently not supported.

Hello there and thank you for your interest in joining the Eclipse community! Quizzes are reviewed based on staff availability and are typically responded to within less than 24 hours. If you did not receive an email, as they do sometimes get lost, please attempt to log onto the server to see if your application has been processed. There are a few remaining in the queue to be reviewed and if yours is one of them, it will be reviewed by end of day. Best Regards, Aldarine Senior Support Staff

As a member of DOC, we are actively trying to engage more and provide good RP for the inmates and as of late there has been positive feedback. Unfortunately, as shown by the video posted previous, the player mindset is still in need of work. In the posted video, there were multiple people inside the prison, however, they were AFK (mind you breaking rules being AFK in a public place) and not engaging, therefore not providing roleplay opportunities. More script support would be lovely but without it right now, players do have to actively engage more.

While I do think that there should be some rule tweaking (mainly with the car engine part), I do not think this is the way to do it. The Fear RP and Deathmatching rules going hand in hand are very important and I implore you to look at it from an angle of no self interest. One of the biggest issues that arises is, who will determine what is an appropriate roleplay reason to allow for the attacking of another player? One party can argue that their reasoning is valid as per their character backstory, meanwhile the other player doesn't agree with this and thinks it's a stretch. As players cannot pause roleplay, the non-agreeing party will then have to deal with being killed and losing all of their possessions for what may very well be an invalid reason. A player report will be made on the forums, staff will get involved, and a refund request most likely not approved depending on the value of possessions, all because one player thought they had the right to kill somebody else. That is just one thing I can think of off the top of my head yet if I had more time I'm sure I could list so many invalid reasons that somebody may think are okay. Ultimately, players should always have somewhat of a "say" in their getting attacked which is provided by the fear rp rule. There are also exceptions where players can still be attacked when being compliant, as dictated in the Deathmatching rule. At this moment in time I see need to slightly tweak certain parts of the rules, however, no need to separate these two and allow for players to dictate in real time what is a valid roleplay reason to harm somebody else.

Vehicle dealerships will always be owned by somebody (even if it's an admin), they will never fizzle out or disappear like a personal business can. As stated in my prior reply, "it is a very nice and smart business venture" which shows that in no way am I downplaying the time, effort, and energy you've put into creating this. Personally, I like to see players doing things like this because it does add to the server in a positive way. Again, however, it is not something scriptly built into the game as vehicle dealerships are. Players cannot create more dealerships but somebody can take this idea and simply make another business and another and another and another to then provide you with competition. Should all of those businesses have a private Discord? Now what about other player created businesses? Where do you draw the line? There are tools at your disposal that you can actively use right now and my biggest suggestion is to use those tools. I just really don't see the need for a private player created business to have a staff monitored Discord but that's just my opinion.

So, I see you are comparing this to vehicle dealerships, however, the biggest thing to note is that dealerships are scriptly built into the game meaning there will always be car dealerships. What you are suggesting is a private business venture which maintains no script support and does not provide an essential service to ECRP (although it is a very nice and smart business venture). Having something like this for you would set a precedent for every single other private business to have their own separate Discord which is just not feasible so ultimately I have to give this a -1. There are many ways to run a business IC than through a Discord. You have many tools at your disposal and many before you have been successful with those same tools - the IC forums being one of the best options.

+1 As a DOC guard I would absolutely love to bring more to the table in terms of RP with inmates. Most of my interactions with inmates thus far have been great and I am always sure afterwards to PM the involved players and thank them for the fun times. One of the barriers to more RP and personal interaction with inmates was stated earlier by another poster - nobody fears a taser. More often than not, when guards enter the cell block, you have a cluster of chaos, a hostage situation, etc. so we are practically forced to wait for multiple guards to come on duty before we can have more interaction. It's an unfortunate truth that leads to minimal interaction with guards and I would love nothing more than for that to change because as I've seen, great RP can come from both sides and I'm a full advocate for that.

Wonderful thread guys - I'm so very proud of you all. Keep up the amazing work!

Staff members are in their positions not because they are just any regular member of the community - especially moderator+ who handle reports and then the higher administation team that deals with punishment appeals. These are members of the community who put players and rules first and want to ensure a positive and rewarding roleplay environment for all. Fellow members of the staff team are amongst the kindest people I have met in this community and consistently put their best foot forward on a daily basis to be as unbiased as possible. There are staff members who actively avoid accepting reports from members of their own faction, however, there are times when they are the only staff available. Should we really expect players to suffer because a member of the staff team chose to be a part of a specific faction? Absolutely not. This goes for all factions, not just illegal ones. Staff are given their roles because higher ups believe they can take a step back, enforce rules, and most of all be fair. Should fairness ever be called into question there is a proper appeal process where all punishments are reviewed by outside parties that are not involved in the matter at all. Even with normal player reports, staff do a wonderful job of discussing amongst other staff members to ensure a proper decision is made. Have faith in the staff that run this community and again, if any decision is ever questioned, follow the proper chain of command to have it reviewed. We, as staff, are here to support all players, and we do our best. Remember... we are also simply human as well.

Very true unfortunately. Perhaps a /ame would be good to add

-1 You have to use /me and /do when picking up a body which already takes time. As stated by another responder, timers are moreso for actions people don’t take the time to RP out. Also there are times when /carrybody needs to be done for OOC reasons (falling through DOC).

Personally I would be a big advocate for reducing the size of the bank NCZ to just include the interior and front corner sidewalk where the entrances are as realistically that is where exterior security cameras would be located and visualizing. Honestly speaking however, and I have a feeling this will be met with negativity, my biggest suggestion would be to add another NCZ (preferably a soft NCZ only scriptly enabled during certain hours). A big issue in the server is that there is no place for people to hang out and have civilian rp without having to constantly move their camera around, be cautious of vehicles, etc. The win mentality in the server is so high that it creates this sense of nowhere being "safe" (big hats off to our larger gangs that frown on this mentality and partake in some awesome RP). In real life I walk places, chat outside, spend time in the clothing store, etc. but in the server if I walk down one street people are shocked (looking at you @CBullet haha) and people walk into clothing stores with their hands raised to let you know they come in peace. I know there was a suggestion a bit ago about the pier becoming a place to hang out and honestly I feel that something like that along with not having the bank NCZ be around the whole entire block, would start to disperse people to different areas and possibly lessen some "monkey see, monkey do" actions at the bank. As stated before I'm well aware that people do not like the idea of another NCZ because of abuse but at the same time something needs to be done to counterbalance the win and rob rob rob mentalities people do unfortunately have. Overall, give people the ability to disperse and I believe they will. Decrease the size of the NCZ and people will also scatter.

I’m all for this even just so criminals have some ability to make anonymous phones, though as a side now I would like to see expensive limited use burner phones implemented as well. Cell phone owner names automatically come up through Dispatch when you make a 911 call which in my opinion shouldn’t happen because you’re not always in a state where you can say/want to say your name. Criminals need more ways to be sneaky and remain anonymous.

I would be a big supporter of this if it were possible to maintain realism with situations as mentioned above (flipping a heavy vehicle). Flipping a vehicle, even a smaller one, is no easy task to accomplish by yourself so it should also take a significant amount of time and perhaps lower your hunger/thirst bars as well just from exerting yourself. Overall +1

This is a suggestions post, not a place to argue over rule breaks in videos. Please get back onto topic as it’s in all of our interests to try to better the server.

Rules are rules and all members of the server are held to them. LSPD members are not immune to rules and should be reported as with any other player. I believe trying to make a connection between "PD having nothing to lose" and this suggestion is a bit of an ill advised reach for this suggestion. Have I seen rule breaks before with LSPD involved? Yes, absolutely. I have also seen new players take a bus and VDM multiple people at the bank or Zeta store. Does that mean that busses should be removed or new players not allowed to have access to them? Absolutely not. Bad apples don't set the standard for all and I do hope that people begin to push any rule breaking moments aside (as these should be reported as appropriate) and look at any issues as a whole to make proper suggestions.

I did not miss the point, I'm simply addressing an overall issue with a time restriction from a different perspective. Having LEOs think smarter about deploying heavy weapons in a situation is one thing but again, taking away the ability to properly respond to a situation where a heavy weapon is needed is another. LEOs need to maintain the ability to deploy a heavy weapon should the situation arise - this is absolutely obvious. Cops should not be put in a situation where they are completely unable to use a heavy weapon due to using one in a prior situation. Should the need arise, they should always be able to use the appropriate weaponry, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Restricting this to a time limit will absolutely cause mayhem and abuse. It's the same as how the 2 hour prison sentience maximum was abused.

Reading through some of the comments on this post, one thing that mainly catches my eye is the note of time restrictions. I'm unsure if people are seeing one blatant issue with this. Not only are you suggesting limiting PDs ability to properly respond to criminal activities in the event that a heavy weapon is needed but you are also opening the door to abuse of a time restriction by criminals. What I mean by that is nothing is to stop criminals from taking advantage of a time restriction by baiting PD into a situation where they use their heavy weapon and then an allied organization then later (within the time restriction) beginning a scenario in which PD's most appropriate response would be with heavies and not being able to, due to again, a time restriction. There will always need to be balance and you cannot implement a restriction on LEOs without also having a restriction on criminals to even the scale.

This is absolutely true. There are not enough ways to fully customize your character model to basically remove the need for /alias and IDs. Even from my own personal experience I was confused with another person for my first couple months on the server because we just looked way too similar.
