  1. I don't think it is necessary to start name calling (ie: "most boring person in the world"). You are correct that this is indeed a game but at the same time it is a roleplaying server. What I believe alex is getting at is that at the end of the day if you are roleplaying a criminal and committing crimes/misbehaving then that is your roleplayed choice and therefore you are subject to the downside of that. The exact same can be said for leaving your car unlocked, disobeying demands, etc. It is completely your choice within the game to roleplay these actions which all then have consequences.
  2. +1 Especially since storing your firearm in the glove compartment of a locked vehicle is a valid response for the Firearms and Licensing Division's firearm application should you not have a home to store your weapon.
  3. This is a suggestion in regards to updating/changing the way name changes work in the server. Presently, when changing your name, your record gets wiped because all of your crimes are associated with the previous name held. To me, this is an incredibly flawed system. Some issues and considerations are: 1. As it presently stands, one can change their name by one or two letters to be basically the exact same name and have a sparkling record, free from all previous crimes. They maintain all contacts - criminals included. So in essence, a known criminal by the public can now obtain a firearms license and join a legal faction. This does not seem appropriate in any way, shape, or form. 2. To obtain a name change, the person has to present themselves at LSPD, fill out the documentation, and pay a bit of money. In the lovely real world we live in, you have to present proof of your present identity and your two names are then linked to one another. Before anybody states, "this is a game, not real life" while I do completely understand and respect that as well as everybody's desire for fun, I believe this is too simple of a process that blatantly doesn't make sense. 3. The first name change has an in game associated cost with it and then all subsequent changes cost credits. While not technically pay-to-win, this does toe the line of an having an advantage. If you consider the first point in conjunction with this, those who have the ability to spend money have a massive advantage and can continuously maintain a clean record on their favorite character as opposed to being forced to CK and start fresh or purchase another character slot which again, would force a fresh start. Taking everything mentioned above into consideration, my suggestion is simple - name changes at LSPD should not remove your criminal record. The only way your record should be removed is following a legitimate CK and you have to start fresh. Every name change should tie back to the original name and record. The name change should be more geared towards life events that coincide with it like marriage, divorce, family disassociation, etc. To everybody that reads this, thank you so much for your time as well as any input if given.
  4. Yes, you should be expected to serve the time related to all of your offenses. As we have no judicial system, there is no statute of limitation on charges. Do you really expect to be free and clear because you've been evading the police that entire time? One of the biggest issues with having a maximum sentence that I think you're missing is metagaming. Criminals have the tendency to lean on that maximum sentence and continue to commit more crimes knowing that they will not serve a longer sentence. That is incredibly hurtful to the server as a whole. Did you think of that?
  5. Perhaps with a judicial system these lists can go public. One can only hope
  6. I think some sort of public list would be nice for all parties. It would give civilians a place to refer to wanted/known criminals and also give criminals some "ground" to stand on if they are overcharged. It could also tie really nicely into a the judicial system (whenever we get one). I also think it would really cool for DOC - like imagine a 911 call from a civilian regarding a wanted terrorist that prompts special units to act.
  7. Honestly, I would love to see something along the lines of mugshots and processed criminal information. I know that RPly you go through the booking process already. I think it would be nice to have a place where this is posted. It would add to immersion, make the booking process more integrated, and also give civilians public information on known or even wanted criminals/terrorists.
  8. +1 On top of this, updating the clothing system would be wonderful! I would love to preview a full outfit before purchasing instead of the one by one silliness.
  9. Honestly, this update has been live for less than 24 hours and the complaints are through the roof. Why not spend time considering how criminals can improve their RP? Think of potential updates to some rules like KOS/DM that push a little more favorable to criminals. Prior to this update, criminals were blatantly running around shooting, robbing, cooking, etc. with little to no value for their freedom largely in part due to meta (knowing that max sentence was 2 hours and you could be afk). I ask you to consider the bigger picture with this prison time limit update. Criminals have to be much smarter and therefore sneaky. Imagine the RP potential that comes from this. Gangs can have secret meetings to plot some pretty interesting crimes. In turn I believe that more gang on gang interaction can stem from this because criminals should be more wary of civilians reporting them to police whereas another gang wouldn't call the cops because they would be apprehended as well. Not only does the update have the potential to massive improve criminal RP, it also helps with a little bit of balancing. The idea of criminals leaving the server due to the change is pretty amusing considering that criminals have pushed so many civilian players out of the server already due to the insane imbalance in the favor of criminals. While I do admit that some criminals have fantastic RP, many do not and I really do hope that this update filters out those who are just running around rampant and ruining the RP experience for so many.
  10. -1 I think the speed limits are fine the way they are. What I would suggest scripting wise is an update to the traffic lights. The way they're set up now with the current speed limits, you pretty much stop at every single intersection so I wonder if the timing is a bit off.
  11. Inventory sizes and weight limits already don't make sense and are unbalanced in my opinion. Your -1 is noted and feedback appreciated. I still think it would be a great addition to the server script wise.
  12. Did you actually try to understand the suggestion? That's not what is being suggested at all. Currently in the game you are able to hold a full bag in your hands, get in your car, and drive. During this, the bag can be seen pretty much through the car. Should you get pulled over/reported, you have to show timestamped evidence of /me and /do showing that you RPly placed the bag in your passenger seat. If you don't have this, that's fail RP. I'm suggesting a way to actually place these items in that location instead of having to rely on that /me and /do. If a person can sit in a passenger seat, a bag should also be able to go there. Also, just for reference, it is much easier to carry something heavy on your back as opposed to in one hand irl. I'm not even a miner so I'm also not sure why you're assuming I'm suggesting this to make more money mining. The suggestion is to get rid of the forced fail RP scenario that you can easily get trapped in. It also destroys immersion watching a bag or crate flicker through a vehicle.
  13. +1 Really well written Yputi as always! Personally I don't think scamming should be allowed in a NCZ. This is something that anybody would retaliate to and if it happens in a NCZ, as you stated, there is no real way to retaliate or else you are breaking the NCZ rules. It's really unfairly balanced and does harm a lot of players. With the opposing answers received from staff about it, perhaps in connection to the rules there should be a link to server wide decisions/clarification. As stated before, scamming in a NCZ was a "hot topic" so wouldn't it be in the best interest of the community to link this in the rule book - perhaps as something that states: "Players are responsible for staying up to date with decisions and clarification regarding rules." Follow that there could be a link to a simple page (be it on the forums or a Google Doc) with outcome decisions to "hot topic" issues. If something like this was done, then all information would be accessible in one area and it will lessen a lot of confusion.
  14. Just like people run around all day with a mask on, thus abusing it, this would be no different. People would just wear gloves 24/7.
  15. -1 This would literally be abused by every single criminal in the game. We need more to enhance the server, not create absurdly unfair advantages to a specific player set.
  16. Massive +1 Good job with all the suggestions.
  17. Overall I would give this a -1. Some suggestions are decent but there is way too much suggested to basically make mining mindless. People need to figure things out, you can't just spoon feed all the information. Below are comments on each suggestion. Suggestion 1: I don't really see much of a purpose or need for this. The only visual aid you need is knowing that there is ore to mine in a specific spot which is already in the game. Knowing any more than this would provide unbalanced advantages such as people just leaving one ore left in all the rocks, hitting rocks and only staying at the ones with the most ore, etc. That is just way too much information to provide people and is honestly just lazy. Suggestion 2: How would this benefit mining at all? Suggestion 3: I agree that something should be stated in a text box but not the "REMEMBER* a bag or a crate would make the job easier and more profitable." That is information that people need to figure out on their own. Suggestion 4: The job description for mining should follow the same template as all the other jobs. Anything different and it would need to be done for every job or else it's not really fair/balanced.
  18. Yputi thanks so much for this! It helps immensely.
  19. I understand that medical RP isn't everybody's cup of tea but at the end of the day EMS is an official faction in the server staffed with people who are on-duty to take calls and RP the job they've chosen. It's not your job in the server, but those who have it should have more opportunities and chance for quality RP just like everybody else. There is a lot of blatant laziness and honestly lots of fail RP especially with people having absolutely zero regard for an injury they claim to have or even just of their own safety when going around the streets. How would you recommend improving EMS so it's not just a lazy run around town healing, giving painkillers, and watching somebody with 4 gunshot wounds run back into their car 5 seconds after being healed? I really don't think a forced trip to the hospital and healing there is too much but that's just me.
  20. +1
  21. Great ideas and thanks to everybody for giving even more suggestions. I think when we all put our heads together then there can be great EMS RP. A staffed hospital would be nice but also it's very dependent on player availability. In terms of timing and tying up medics, I think the comprise would be handled with implementation, of course if this suggestion even gets that far. I agree that the command itself should be different and instead of completely healing a patient, it should prevent hp loss once the medic gets there. Treatment RP would then just be completed at the hospital (along with restoring lost hp) which doesn't even have to be complex as it could be the same treatment RP that's already used in the field. The added time would come with driving the injured person back to MD, which, when thinking about the priority level of the call, would be warranted. With something like this implemented, I do believe that players will in turn be more conscious of lots of actions they take on a daily basis and thus lead to a lower on-duty/calls ratio. For instance, if you know that you can't just get picked up and walk away after a car crash, you would be less likely to drive your sports car like a maniac in the streets, etc. at least in theory. I think a lot of people do incredibly reckless things with the knowledge of "I just need to wait for a medic and then I can quickly get back to it, no big deal" which is just unrealistic.
  22. Even without a doctor/nurse/field medic hierarchy, medics could still do their completed assessment and treatment in the hospital. It's much better environment wise and will really add depth to medic rp. It just feels a little lackluster when a player is downed, calls a medic, gets treated on the spot, then everybody goes about their merry way a minute later.
  23. I am suggesting that for 911 calls, patients have to be physically transported to the hospital for proper treating as opposed to treating on the spot that is done very often. Presently, EMS does get viewed as a quick pick up/heal up and go which does not give much room for quality roleplay. As a licensed medic OOC, every trauma run is taken to the hospital to ensure proper patient care. The duty of the medic is not to treat on scene but to prepare and transport the patient to the hospital while keeping them in the best stable condition you can. I do think that treating at the hospital will make citizens more conscious of what they are doing/how they are putting themselves in harms way as well as open the door to more quality EMS interaction while making the roleplay itself more realistic.
  24. Title pretty much says it all. It is fail rp to drive while holding your bag/crate and you have to rp doing this with /me and /do. You can't even carry your bag on your back when it's full because it's viewed as inventory and a full bag takes so much space, which should also be fixed, and so people are forced into this fail rp situation a lot. We can already store bodies in trunks and people sit in the car so I think there should be a command to place your bag/crate in these spots.
  25. -1 I think this would harm civilian rp. With licenses as an inventory item and the state of civilian rp, civilians in the server would risk constantly getting their license stolen and having to then pay a fine. I think the only people this will benefit are those who find themselves doing things that would be better without identification on them - so basically criminals.
