  2. I wish I had more time to give a proper response to this but alas I’ll keep it brief. I do not completely disagree with you on some things but I am also aware of a lot more barriers in place to make this feasible than you may think - some of which come from players themselves. I can’t do into full details because of a mix of time and private information but if you are open to it please do send me a forum pm (so I can keep everything tidy to look over) and we can chat more. It’s not simple navigating certain things and finding that balance to bring things more IC but I’m here to make the efforts.
  3. I go through them when time allows as there is more to it than simply pressing a few buttons. If you do not want to browse them then feel free to avoid going to the next page - recently updated threads will always be at the top. Nothing wrong with having more access to player made roleplay stories, and who knows, maybe they will inspire other players too! It’s not hurting anybody by sitting there for a little longer.

    Cops 2 OP

After reading through the discussion on this thread we have made the decision to lock and archive it. Along with this, we would like to clarify/reiterate a few things mentioned and advise on how to proceed going forward. - Faction Salaries/Budget: All factions are capped at a maximum of earning $8,000 per hour which is only obtainable by high ranking members in said faction. The average member of a faction makes between $5,500 - $6,500 per hour depending on rank. The vast majority of members within legal factions sit within that range whereas the limited High Command within a faction make the higher amount. It has been commented as well that many people would not be opposed to updates to budgeting in terms of vehicle/equipment pay. - TeamSpeak: The reason certain factions utilize TeamSpeak is due to the inability to conduct the same actions with radio communication while in game. A considerable amount of testing was done previously and proved that present radio scripting is simply incompatible. To be able to convert TAC to a proficient in game system is something heavily desired - please do not think otherwise, however, development time is better served on content for the server at large since TeamSpeak is heavily moderated already and does suffice for its purpose. As mentioned, this avenue is extremely moderated and those who conduct rule breaking behaviors in TeamSpeak are dealt with just as every player is, including but not limited to admin punishments and faction reprimands that can lead to removal. TeamSpeak is not intended to bypass situations or create an unfair environment, it is simply a solution to a long standing issue. In the future we would enjoy seeing this brought in game, however, it is a complicated process and time is presently better served elsewhere content wise. - LEO Protocols / Criminal Balancing - Law enforcement factions are set up in a manner to be reactionary. This means that there has to be some form of balance and adjustments when criminal players begin to rely heavily on things such as “meta vehicles” or repeat tactics. While we cannot go into specifics regarding In Character protocols, we can say that it is strived to make things fair. Does this mean it is perfect? No, things can always be improved and that is where respectful discussion and meaningful suggestions come in. As one example of balancing that has taken place is vehicle related. Many vehicles exist in the same capacity and are available to both LEO factions and civilians. This was intended to create a more equal field so something like a chase would be more up to skill as opposed to one sided vehicle enhancements. That said, law enforcement does need some upper hand as that would only be realistic and we aim to always improve and even the scales. - Internal Affairs: Each faction has an Internal Affairs system in place to review both IC and OOC matters that take place. This system is always recommended as the first line of communication. Now, some people may say that they will not bother with making an IA report, however, we encourage the opposite. It is unfair to make claims and accusations yet have no follow through in terms of a report that will enforce review and potential repercussions. Internal Affairs was created for the sole purpose of holding people accountable, it's up to you to use it. To address any issues with Internal Affairs that people believe may exist, Legal Faction Management (see below) is intended as another team to hold people accountable. - Legal Faction Management/Roleplay Feedback: On the government website there is a roleplay feedback form available for LSSD. This form is for any and all feedback both positive and negative that community members may see from the faction. Please utilize this. The more feedback that is received, the further we can move forward addressing matters as well as potentially expanding on this form and relaying information to other faction leaders. Along with this, Legal Faction Management is available to all players for a conversation which can (and has) addressed concerns, furthered explanations and prompted change. Utilize this team to your benefit to promote healthy and meaningful conversations. If you feel that something is not being handled appropriately in a faction (such as Internal Affairs) do reach out. They are here to listen and help. - Faction Slander: This is something that is not appreciated in the server. We strive for healthy conversations amongst all because all the end of the day we are all human and want to have fun while playing in this server. Going forward and slandering factions will not lead to change and will only prompt back and forths in an unhealthy manner that we have seen so many times in the past and leads to negative feelings and resentment. We can easily work as a team to better ourselves and the server but what comes first is understanding that there is a human behind the screen trying to have an enjoyable time. While some times may not be as enjoyable as others, majority intention is never malicious so again, work together. - Prison: Many have mentioned the lack of activity in prison as well as the time frame. It goes without saying that SADOC is in need of further development and this has been established as the next priority project to be worked on. - Suggestions: While we understand that the suggestions thread is fairly large, the Staff Team has taken a better approach to reviewing suggestions (please be patient with us through this). This can be seen with numerous comments regarding implementation as well as the condensing of the section. Please make thought out suggestions for us to review. If you would like to see change come that would be beneficial to the server we highly encourage this. If you do make a suggestion, always be sure that it is fair, pros/cons are weighed and that you are open to feedback. This has the ability to further conversation and ease the path to future implementation. Thread archived.

  15. I'm going to go ahead and hop onboard with the idea of a red light being on and people being aware of this. It would be the middle ground that would offer the compromise. Realistically speaking it is very true that every store wouldn't have a camera feed directly to law enforcement but to compromise with the server that is how it works. Adding the additional red light notification wouldn't be detrimental in the slightest in my opinion and if anything only serve to even the playing field a bit more. I will say that I'm not the biggest fan in general about the CCTV due to the fact that it is unbalanced and every cut wire on the feed automatically means a robbery even though realistically it could mean so many other things such as camera maintenance or a power outage but that's a conversation for another day. Now, that said, I'm not sure how one would go about translating this (red light or a /do) into the server script wise but if possible it's not a half bad idea.
  16. I fully stand by the comment made by Osborn in a prior posting about basically this same kind of suggestion - this is simply not something that will benefit the server nor is it a good idea to try to push something like it in. To go with that, I simply want to point out.... OP, in your post you stated: I don't want cops being hunted, I just want things to make more sense. If I steal a cruiser in real life (which obviously would be a terrible idea), there would very plainly be the weapons whatever officer left them there. If I killed an officer in real life (an even worse idea), then there would be his weapons and things I would have access to. What I can immediately say is that you write very clearly in ( ) certain things that are very bad ideas realistically speaking and yet happen in the server on a daily basis. I'm sorry but until people in the server actually view the comments in ( ) as clear and rational thought to bring into game and behave that way, this suggestion is just as moot as that mentality shift. I understand wanting things to 'make more sense' but that's a two way street and everybody in this thread knows, if they take a step back, that we are in no way going to see improvement with something like this and instead will see more of the behavior we are trying to curb away from. Nobody thinks, if I take this cruiser that's a horrible idea and my life will be ruined if I'm caught! Instead they think, hey lets go joyriding! Nobody thinks, maybe I shouldn't shoot at this cop and possibly be wanted and spend the rest of my life in prison marked as a cop killer. Instead they think to ask everybody on freq to set up an ambush over evading with a .50. A mentality shift on BOTH sides is needed for something like this to be entertained as something productive and after years of working on it, it still hasn't gotten there. Nobody fears consequence on either side and this is something that would require a much heavier commitment to roleplay standards all around.
  17. @alexalex303 I do not disagree that more people should fall victim to their wounds than currently do and I’ve been a proponent for adjustments to things like /cpr and /stabilize such as reduced health gain, constant and more rapid health loss regardless of command, etc. however a half reduction based on every 2 shots is far too short and sorry but passive roleplay checking a pulse so frequently is not something somebody wants to do all the time. Ultimately if the suggestion changed the time factor I would be more in favor. Specifically a change to what number I’m not sure but I can’t justify support to what I feel would be a hindrance to roleplay quality and being rushed simply so people can get out of charges.
  18. Unfortunately I will also be giving this suggestion a -1. The timing aspect that is being recommended here is simply infeasible and unless you are in such close proximity to somebody to provide medical treatment (as somebody in MD) everybody will die. The time frame in this post simply encourages people to spray others down intentionally to make them die faster, have lackluster roleplay that is rushed and very much tracks back to the lazy /do s? days and serves as a de-motivator for MD as nearly every call in relation to shots will result in death. Please keep in mind that after a call is made it takes time to respond to the call, drive there in an appropriate manner, find the patient, view their injuries via typed roleplay, figure out your course of treatment and then commit to the very long timed /stabilize command. Apologies but the timing is not conducive to anything that isn’t incredibly rushed and even then you have to time everything instantly (aka binds) to get even a few seconds of possible saving.
  19. Great suggestion and I see no real reasons against this so this has my support! The one thing I may add is to possibly limit the amount of times a vest can be refilled as after a while the base material itself would be damaged to the extent that you should have to, at some point, buy a new 'base layer' so to speak. Overall definite +1 from me and I know many people with empty vests would appreciate implementation of this!
  20. If you read back up to what I originally said it was solely about being able to cook at home which has absolutely nothing to do with any form of criminal actions. Also may I direct your attention to the title of this thread where it in no way references criminal activity or drugging people but instead food. If anybody wants to make a suggestion about drugging people feel free to make a suggestion for it to be scriptly implemented as opposed to via roleplay.
  21. Or we can just not and instead think about actually just allowing people to make food. I'm not sure why everything needs to be criminally related
