I don't think we should treat sports bikes like sports cars. They have their disadvantages on a IC and OOC level. I think this problem should be approached differently, maybe something like a vehicle maintenance bar, to encourage people to drive cheaper vehicles that cost less to maintain.
-
Simplest way to go about this problem is to accept it and not let it affect you on a OOC level. By this logic, other types of racism would have to be prohibited from the server, not just the N word. Next we would have to disallow sexism or other type of sensitive subjects. This is RP and a lot of people will get insulted by others in many ways. While I personally do not insult people in any way, it's something that happens IRL and I see no reason why it shouldn't be allowed IC. If you feel the insults are OOC driven, then that's a different issue.

Don't think lawyers would need any script support at all. Admins just have to give the green light to give anyone the ability to be a lawyer and them having to register the business with the government before actually attempting to defend a client. If they don't, they're impersonating, which is against the law and can be arrested. Businesses are also publicly listed, so confirming or denying someone's identity and legitimacy of a business is possible. All of this can be done completely IC, no script support or anything else required.

Good idea, but it would be chaos if put in place. It's not practical and doesn't really benefit anyone in the end. I think the community is too big to have such a system in place, simply because player reports would be more difficult to do. In some cases, it may even be impossible to report someone. Lets be honest, there are some people out there that would try and abuse this to no end.

I wouldn't really say video tutorials are needed when it comes to rules, since rules are pretty clear. There's always the help channel on discord where people can ask and look over player reports to see great examples of what you can and cannot do in plenty of situations. But if someone feels like doing it, then why not.

I think icons are more than enough and the way weazel ads are displayed is pretty OOC. If I want to see ads, I'll go to the forums.

I don't understand the flawed logic by most people here. The end result is still the same, but it saves everyone's time in the end. It also makes RP sense an officer can enter the MDC without having the uniform on, it doesn't stop him if he's in his pyjamas. Currently: Off duty officer arrests someone > on duty officer arrives > takes him to his local PD > off duty officer has to go on duty in his own PD (MR or PB, can take a long time to get from one to the other) > applies charges > goes off duty > done. Suggestion: Off duty officer arrests someone > on duty officer arrives > takes him to his local PD > off duty officer applies the charges > done. Fuck's the difference in the end, apart from it saving time and being more realistic? Also do most of you know you CAN be placed under citizens arrest by a citizen? lol

What if someone shows up and wants to RP with you? If you find it that boring, watch a movie on the 2nd monitor or something and be ready if someone comes by. Allowing everyone to be AFK just promotes no RP in the prison, making the situation way worse. It's also not up to the developers to do all the work, but the players aswell.

Sounds like something you'd see in GTAO and something that would just turn into something you'd expect in GTAO. Not much RP to have there, just more shooting. All things considered, it's already too easy to get a gun.

DeathRP is something you have to earn, not get just because you want a free out of jail card. It also has to be agreed by all officers on scene, if you can have it. If you just shoot at cops and get downed, then request deathRP, it will most likely be denied. But if you provide good RP and actually put in more effort, then it will likely be rewarded to you. Medics also don't treat you fully, they stabilise you and take you to the hospital.

Date and time (provide timezone): Past couple of weeks now, no exact time Character name: James Li Issue/bug you are reporting: Long distance siren is audible even when a emergency vehicle has its lights off or has the siren turned off. Towtruck with its amber lights on will also have the siren effect. Expected behavior: Siren shouldn't be heard when it's not turned on. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: I noticed this happening mostly to PD vehicles. It's not always consistent, but it will mostly happen when they're driving with their lights on, but siren disabled. There are also instances of it happening when the lights are completely off. Towtrucks will reproduce the problem more often, when they have the amber lights on. The problem goes away once the vehicle is near you. Once it leaves the range of the normal - local siren, you can hear the long distance one again. Vehicle license plate number*: X

Sometimes when someone exits a vehicle, they may go invisible for a couple of seconds. There are also instances of people randomly standing in areas (can even see them talk) then disappearing (resyncing).

Sounds pretty unnecessary.

Script jobs pay pretty well actually. There's also passive income you get, which in itself is more than enough to pay for food/water. Increasing their payouts would just result in more inflation and higher prices in the future, solving nothing really.

With these changes, the quality of RP would degrade and not really improve. There are quite a couple of people that can't seem to RP on a very basic level or have the win mentality. DeathRP is something that's rewarded to players for good RP, but all officers on scene have to agree to it. PD also has to follow the same DM rules, so not sure what you're on about there.

I guess this command sort of proves that a lot of people will more often than not just do things for the lols. Just because people can do something, their motives and RP reasons for it are pretty much non-existent. We should look for ways to improve that and make people have legitimate, real IC reasons that will promote better RP. But asking for more effort and better RP may just be too much for some...

This man speaks the truth. If crime wouldn't be so rampant to a point where it's pretty much nonRP, I'd be fine with driving home during the day. OP said that we should get people to escort us, walk with us or stay in lit areas. Having someone walk with you would just result in them being robbed and lets face it, criminals don't care if it's a brightly lit area at night or when it's daytime, you'll get robbed anyway. Not of IC reasons or for RP, but because of the "because I can" mentality. I guess a lot of this happens because there's no feeling that the city is alive. NPC's do a good job in making the city feel alive, but they're also horrible in most cases (also not possible in rage at this time). IRL you wouldn't rob someone if there are like 100 people around you. We can't replicate this in the server, because player count is too low and no NPC's. That being said, unless more strict rules are added to promote more quality RP and require people to have a proper IC reasons to do things, I can't agree with these suggestions.

I sadly cannot agree with this. First of all, 911 calls display the callers name. While the character may not say their name during a 911 call, it's safe to assume the government in the background does keep track of phone numbers and whom it belongs to. But the biggest and most valuable tool gang members have are the very powerful radios that seem to have infinite range. There are IC ways to establish a secure communication line to keep PD off of you or minimize the chances they can get to you. Heck, there's also a way to use other peoples phone numbers so nothing gets tracked to you at all. But like it was said before, tracing is very limited and has a lot of regulations. 90% of the PD don't have any use for the phone numbers at all, it only comes in handy when you have to call the person to notify them of something or get more information. I have also never heard of anyone abusing this system either, so I see no reason why such information would be removed from the MDC.

I don't think an approval command is required when you're downed. While there is an action timer when you're looking through the inventory, it's pretty useless since nobody around you can see you're searching the person. I think that once you press i, an /ame would display and maybe even an animation, indicating you're searching someone.
-
I think it would be way too time consuming. Arrest, process, gathering people for a trail and getting a final verdict could take an hour if not more alone. Even if you can call a lawyer to the prison later, evidence and everything else would have to be done with /do. The problem comes when you're not sure who the officer that arrested you was or if they're still online, and trusting a one sided /do from a player can be tricky. The charges that are placed against someone are pretty much going to stick either way too, due to the OOC corruption rule LSPD has when it comes to placing charges. The best we can get is a DOC addition for parole officers. Once a certain % of your sentence has passed, you can ask for parole. A parole officer comes, check your record for misdemeanors, guard notes, work activity and other IC things. They can also check your OOC RP quality you provided in the prison. If you did work in the prison and provided good RP, a parole could be rewarded to you and you can be released sooner. This could also motivate people to work and RP in the prison, not just AFK.
-
Sounds like your issue is the lack of RP and activities in the prison, not jail times. Instead of ignoring the first two problems and just going to a simple solution of lowering jail times (they were lowered recently by 50% almost), you should search for solutions like how to get more RP and suggest other activities for devs to put in. Most jail times I see are about 1-2 hours, so I wouldn't really say it's a huge issue as far as jail times go for majority of people. I see people RP in prison, it just comes down to how well you can adapt and how good you can RP.

If someone tries to report you when you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about. I had people tell me they will report me and I never really cared much about it. I know I did nothing wrong, I try to explain it to them and if they feel like they still want to file a report, then go ahead. It cuts out on a lot more arguing, causes less tension and if they feel good about themselves after, good for them. Post your own story, any proof you may have, sleep like a king knowing the person who's reporting you will look like a fool and know that nothing will come out of that report. Sometimes people may make a report when they shouldn't, but there are cases where maybe they just don't understand the rule or RP situation that well. While I do agree that making such reports is a waste of time for the reported party and staff, it can (and should) end up being a learning experience for the reporting party. In the end, it's up to staff to decide what to do and how to resolve these issues, if there even is an effective way to do that.

Main reason why it requires RP approval is because it's not always clear how someone got injured. Lets say I rammed into a pole at a high speed and injured myself. Someone coming by and carrying me away without RP, would be a clear case of PG and also it would void any RP I may have set for myself. In this case, I'd probably want to RP'ly be stuck inside the vehicle, trapped and unable to be moved. Someone coming by and yoinking me away would just ruin the whole RP experience. Sure most cases are just people trying to drag others to safety or take their friends to the hospital, but it should still be RP'd properly. If someone injured tries to resist, sometimes they RP'ly can, but would most likely just prolong the inevitable. As far as /ame goes, I find that some /ame's are not required and I don't think one is needed here. Basically if you can see an animation (pulling out a gun, opening a car door, rolling down a window, talking on the radio, ...) it usually doesn't require RP in my eyes. However there are cases where /ame's are required, like when an officer presses the panic button, when someone takes something from a bag or when you cook up some drugs. Then there are cases that let you do something, but don't have an automatic /ame. This is when you should RP the situation yourself if it's required. Maybe an action timer would be a better addition when you pick up a body.

You can mute them with /vol if needed, I don't think a new rule should be put in place for such a minor IC thing. This also sounds like a completely IC issue that can be resolved through IC means. Also don't understand your hostility against such a silly thing like a music type, but hey... each their own.
