  1. Basically if it involves a forceful action against another player, you need to RP it and ask for permission, timer or not. Lets say you crash into a tree and get downed. If someone tries to pick you up, they obviously wouldn't be able to since you could RP'ly be stuck in the car.
  2. I have been tutting my horn for many months that something needs to change. Like I have said before many times, daytime robberies in public places shouldn't happen, unless you have a good RP reason or were provoked. It's not so difficult to add such a simple to understand rule, to improve RP significantly. People will actually hang out at places and stop gathering in NCZ's constantly. CivRP and normal sort of RP will be possible, heck even buying clothes will be normal without anyone rushing in with a gun to rob you. Like seriously, how many times were you held up by some dude with a gun in a clothes store while you were trying on a pair of pants? I get players can choose to do what they want, but everyone seems to choose a simple, effortless, fast way to just rob people for no reason. We're here to RP, not play GTA Online with text like some people.
  3. I wouldn't say it's unfair or unreasonable to put limiters on cars. IRL cars have limiters in them and you know exactly at what speed it won't go faster, no matter how hard you try. GTA obvsiously doesn't have that because it's GTA, but a RP server would benefit from that. So instead of buffs and all that unbalanced stuff, if all vehicles would have a limiter to their speed, it'd be much easier to have super cars actually be "super" and PD cruisers to be more reasonable when it comes to speed.
  4. I was in PD and there is a lot of effort those people put into the faction, new or old. Most of your daytime public robberies will happen because of hood rats, doing it mostly "because i am crim" and not so much for the RP. It impacts civRP severely and makes it almost unplayable, that is why you will often see people chill in NCZ's and not all around the city. Sure you can hang out with your friends somewhere public during the day, but it just takes 1 person that wasn't even provoked, with a gun to bring that to a halt. Heck even officers can get jumped on like that. That is because the server rules allow it, which they shouldn't. Hopefully something will change, because this issue is constantly brought up very often and kills out any normal civRP.

    Robbery.

I will say that I took a break from Eclipse because of the amount of unrealistic crimes that happen. I am not bothered by how many happen, but where they happen. Holding someone at gunpoint in the middle of a day, on a public street/sidewalk while they likely don't have anything on them and haven't provoked you is just stupid. I still do not understand why there isn't a rule to forbid that. Daytime should promote civRP for everyone, while night time should promote criminalRP for those who seek it. I understand criminals don't have much to do, but it comes down to how many of them are and how many people will hold someone up for very little to no reason, hoping they'll get lucky. Someone gets robbed, fine. Another group will come by and do the same. Then someone will drive past, turn around and do the same. It just created this endless loop around one person. While it may provide criminals with potential rewards and RP, it kills the RP for the person who keeps getting robbed. There is no safe time to calmly go around and do your business as a civ, hence why I see very little civRP on the server. This is why so many things happen in NCZ's. Going back to crims not having much to do, a lot could be expanded upon. During the day criminals should lay low or find other activities, like they do IRL. But another problem is that a lot of stuff are automated. There are plenty of suggestions out there that could involve players more, especially factions (controlling drug sell locations and taxing people for example). The rules I mentioned above wouldn't really prevent criminals from doing their RP. It just means they would have to be more cunning and smart to lure people into a isolated area and rob them then. People should try harder than they currently do, because just because someone does crimRP, doesn't mean they should be able to do that 24/7, anywhere and everywhere.
  6. Currently there's no other system to keep track of these things apart from the serial number. I'd say the serial number staying is enough, because it's not necessary to script in this and other things just to have minimal control. IRL if you go out and keep buying a new gun every week, you'll likely get denied or police will be knocking at your door to see what's up.
  7. I don't agree with the high command part. Lets say someone does deserve 2+ hours in jail, but they surrender when there are 50 players on. There will definitely not be any high command members on (or at least very, very unlikely) and they'll get to serve 2 instead of lets say 4 hours. I think a simple system here would be a repeat offender system. The cap would start off at 2 hours, but each time you're sent to prison (DOC), your cap would increase by 30 minutes. So the more times you're arrested, the more your cap increases. If you have a crime against a government employee or a serious felony, the cap would be ignored. I think that's a fair trade off.

    THE TAZERS

I'm interested how it would bring "more RP", please do explain. There's also a recharge period between shots, same as in the vanilla game.
  9. He has a point. It's really an IC issue and it's a form of snitching, they're just not quiet about it. A lot of gangs aren't quiet about their business, so I'm not sure why this should be treated any differently.
  10. NCZ parking is also not meant to be a overnight hotel for your cars. Cars get towed away from there to the impound lot, which can be expensive. On top of that, you can also get a ticket. There are also IC regulations when an employee can leave their vehicle at their workplace. Having a gate has its advantages and downsides. Your vehicle can still get broken in to and the items in it stolen. But that's it, it cannot be driven in the city or get chopped. If you're frequently targeted and the items are stolen from the vehicles, then I suggest you stop leaving things in them. About the issue in the picture above, that's something mechanics can resolve. This is honestly an IC issue and whatever policy Weazel has when it comes to leaving vehicles at work when you're off duty.
  11. It is already possible to leave the door open and get away faster without closing it, it's a GTA feature. I don't think it's synced well, so you may want to press O either way if you wish for it to sync properly.

    NCZ Change

Yes and no. Having a gathering spot where people can move around freely and safely is nice and should be encouraged, but being bounded to indoors is too limiting. I'd prefer to see NCZ's switch. There would be 24/7 NCZ's (PD, MD), however there could be ones that open and close during night and day. Once the bank closes, the NCZ could disband until it opens again. At night, tequi-la-la and the club areas could be a NCZ.
  13. I can understand that money can lead to a peaceful resolution. However I do not agree with the disbanding part. It seems like if you want a group to disband, it's because of OOC reasons and not entirely IC. I do think more could be gained or lost in this. Currently it just seems like occasional team deathmatch between groups and short bragging rights after.
  14. "Vehicles are defined as unroadworthy when they fail to meet Minimum Safety Requirements" Why would a vehicle that was taken from the scrapyard meet such a requirement? Obviously it doesn't, hence why it was at the scrapyard in the first place. Most of this is an IC issue anyway. https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3259
  15. This makes sense. Riding a bike with a bag in your hands it sort of possible, just tricky. Driving any vehicle with a crate in your hands is questionable in itself, even if you RP'ly "placed it on the seat". Script obviously prevents you from doing that, so you should find the correct vehicle to do these things with or lose the crate.
  16. A lot of these seem like IC issues and should be treated as such. IA reports do matter and they do have an effect. But keep in mind that this is a game after all.
  17. If your eyes hurt, adjust your graphic and monitor settings. You can also use sunglasses or get special ones to prevent headaches and eye strain. I like snow.

    Citizen Rights!

Paleto bay has a bank. If anything, it's only missing a garage, furniture store and a parking meter at the bank. Though I do wish each side would have something unique about them, so people are encouraged to travel a bit.

    .

I'd prefer it to be the way it is now. It gives cadets and other officers something to do and opens up more RP opportunities. I'm not a fan of automation on RP servers.
  20. Sounds like you dug your own grave in all of those situations. I suggest you look at the penal code, before you do stupid things and complain about them later on the forum. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qMm9u2Tl59RBpNyNSA88G7WYPFwiOgzXqL-1cWgAHEc/edit#gid=123845845
  21. I must agree with CrowCargo on this one. I think that script support should overpower whatever RP you do. If the weapon can be seen and I choose to RP seeing it, I shouldn't be forced to stop RP or drop the situation if they have OOC proof, since it's against the rules for anyone but an admin to pause RP. Just because they RP'd hiding it, it sounds like PG. There's also no requirement to have people RP taking it out, which is also unfair since the weapon is instantly available for them in any situation. If anything, the other party should have the option to either choose to accept or deny such RP to be valid. People should also play by the rules and not use a poor excuse of "I RP'd it, so script limitations or restrictions don't apply to me".
  22. I agree with this. People just PG way too often by paying tickets and don't even RP it.
  23. PD has a lot of OOC restrictions and the way law works here in the server, it's very lenient. There are lots of advantages the server gives to criminals, but all of those seem to be taken for granted... Easy way to get weapons for official criminal factions Jail times are always at base, they never stack up for repeat offenders Vehicle licenses are taken away for a few days at best Vehicles are never impounded permanently No matter your criminal history, you can still own legal businesses Homes are safe havens Those are just a few things that don't make a lot of sense when it comes to RP. If the server would have more serious, permanent consequences when it comes to crime, I would agree with some of the suggestions here. Having your character die should have more consequences to begin with, like being locked inside the hospital for 10 minutes, where you can RP being a patient.
  24. I wish weather was predetermined for about 2 ingame days, so we can have a weather app also telling us what sort of weather to expect at different times.

    Racism

Did anyone here feel offended by any games Rockstar has made so far? Because honestly, they're one of the few companies that have the balls to stereotype people, use racism, hate speech and I don't know what else in their games. What about movies that feature those things also? I find it funny and amusing, yet I never felt offended. Look at Lamar for example when he calls Franklin "nigga" in about every single sentence he makes. Why? Because that's his character. Same in movies and other games, so why would it be any different here? RP is basically acting, yet actors IRL don't feel offended if racist remarks are made towards them. About people saying "but twitch doesn't allow that word", then why are you allowed to stream GTA? I guess Lamar managed to get a lot of people banned from twitch then if that's the case. Also if you're streaming, you can ask people to hold back a bit with certain topics or remove yourself from the RP situation if possible. As said before, if insults are OOC driven, you can report those people already. But I wonder why would someone buy a game like GTA to begin with, if they'll take such things personal.
