  1. Victor above is correct about the reckless driving charge. You only get it if you're going above 150km/h past a speed camera. Another thing about speed cameras is that they only issue 2nd and 3rd degree speeding tickets, while ignoring the first. So you'll only get a speeding ticket if you go 10 above the speed limit. About unpaid tickets warrants, as said before, those are not automatic. An officer will issue them by hand if your tickets are 3+ days old. When you get a ticket, you also get a text message saying you have to pay it within 3 days or you may get arrested. Only the driver of the vehicle will get a ticket, no matter who's vehicle they're driving. Speed cameras are a OOC solution that will punish you IC for breaking the server rules. Speeding in a NCZ is breaking the server rules.
  2. I just don't feel like people would RP this well enough. Having everyone just run around, looking into the PD database and kidnapping people to take them to PD, doesn't seem really fun. There are procedures to follow and there's a reason why it's illegal IC, because it would be too dangerous. You don't see civilians IRL track criminals down, rushing to them, point a gun at them, tying them up and dropping them off at PD like a postal letter. If you do want to help the LSPD IC, there are other ways to do it. About bounties being added when someone commits a crime, who would do it? If it's the server, it would be metagaming and if anyone can just say "ye he did it" without IC proof, then it would be a nightmare. There's a reason LSPD doesn't just believe everything people tell them, because people can lie. Lets not forget that server rules prevent you from being a full on vigilante. In conclusion, if you want to be a vigilante, you can do so IC, but it would be illegal. As far as server rules go, if the person you tracked down agrees, then it should be fine.
  3. All of these look like IC problems. If a official gang is scamming people, they'll build up a bad reputation and a different gang will take advantage of the situation. Simply buying guns from stores while you're a convicted felon didn't make much sense RP wise. This is not GTA online where there are no real consequences if you do something bad. There are also other weapons you can use and other RP ways to get a hold of guns. The biggest problem I see is that people aren't willing to put effort into their RP to gain certain advantages. A lot of people got used to getting guns with little to no RP, by simply walking into a store and buying one, no matter what they did before or after. Considering this is a RP server and that 90% of people had a gun on them, it was pretty out of control. Hopefully now crime will also reduce.
  4. Usually when a unit is going to the impound lot, it may receive a higher priority call, like a robbery. We all know that crimes in the game happens 24 hours a day, day or night not having any difference. People will also often engage in a shootout or start running away from cops, even if they would get a small ticket. If that happens, it's again a higher priority. A lot of times, officers are not free for long to do other tasks. There are also a lot of other reasons why we can't have an officer at the impound lot at all times. Unfortunately, that's how the server is right now. For the system to be automatic or allowing mechanics to release vehicles, it wouldn't work out. A lot of people have outstanding tickets, tickets that they have to pay before getting their vehicle back. Mechanics don't have access to the police database and having the system automated kinda removes some sort of a RP element. It's understandable that the system isn't working 100% efficiently, however as more officers are recruited, I believe it'll fix itself. So with time, I'm confident there will be enough officers, at all times of the day, to take care of the impound lot.
  5. A lot of people would agree that there are far too many robberies happening in the game, which is unfortunately true. They provide very little, non-quality RP and are mostly one sided. It's okay to get robbed once in a while, however it happens way too often with little to no consequences for the robber and it can be frustrating for the victim, even on a OOC level. Because of the low quality RP that robberies give, the unrealistic number of them and because it's actually setting a bad image for the server, I would suggest that the following, pretty simple rule should be added. You're not allowed to hold up/rob a player during the day (7-21) in a public, populated place (parks, paved roads, highways, close to roads so your actions would obviously be visible,...). You're still allowed to rob players that are near the drug lab, in the mountains/forest, or any other place where people wouldn't normally go or be able to see you. This rule doesn't apply to vehicle picklocking or store robberies. My reasoning for this is that we already RP that we live in a city that's "alive", for example NCZ's. It's fairly unrealistic that 4 cars go up to 1 person, 10 people step out and rob the guy for a radio or nothing else, especially during the day, when the city would be "alive". The game is based in the US, a place where daytime crime is (depends where you live) at a minimum in public places, however it increases during the night. People that simply want to rob others can still do so, in the mentioned areas above and anywhere else (like now) during the night. This would mean that nights would actually be more dangerous to go out and roam about. I personally feel this would improve the quality of RP. People that want to RP something fun like an event won't have to rely on getting personal security with big guns or asking PD. There could potentially be more "civilian" RP during the day. Not everyone would agree, but I think some change has to be done to solve this issue.

    DELETE

There's no real reason for gangs to have wars between each other. Now if you add in turfs that provide a controlling gang with benefits, then they have a reason to fight. Constantly fighting between each other could be just a warzone, so I think staff should be somehow involved into this, to make sure the RP standards are there and that turf wars are sort of a "special event" for the gangs.
  7. Speed cameras are placed in NCZ's where no crimes should ever be committed. Speeding was a huge problem in those areas, which is against the law and also against the server rules. Stop breaking the server rules (committing crimes in a NCZ) and you won't get punished for it.
  8. A kick after 2 warnings wouldn't really do much honestly. You simply rejoin, get back in your car and continue doing whatever you were doing. If it was a temporary ban for breaking NCZ rules however, it could be more effective. But I feel like speeding cameras are enough for now.
  9. Free food and drinks? I'm in!
  10. Because people keep speeding through NCZ's, where crimes shouldn't be committed. People that try to cross the road in a NCZ can very easily get hit by someone that's driving 200km/h. That means that the injured person would have to file a player report on the speeder, which is just a hassle for everyone. Besides, cameras are the most IC way of catching people that break OOC rules. I think we should all be grateful that there's no automatic admin punishment, that would fine you for breaking the NCZ rules. There's no avoiding that, like you can avoid the speeding tickets IC.
  11. This could be useful, but make it so it's a 1 time thing every couple of hours. Don't want people to keep "crashing" every few minutes and hope their vehicle won't get stolen or something.
  12. I would personally consider any vehicle that costs 100-150k+ as expensive. Sure a contender has offroad and possibly ramming capabilities, but it wouldn't be cheap to repair. There are sports cars that cost less than 200k and one could say ramming with those would be nonrp due to them being expensive. I do agree some sort of a price tag should replace the word "expensive".
  13. I'd also like to see more fuel stations being functional. Basically add more things all around. But I would definitely like to see more hospitals and PD's first.

    GANG WAR

Honestly this sounds too messy and a lot like GTA online. If gang wars are something that people want, I'd prefer to see turfs reintroduced into the game. However only with admins approval can a turf war begin, if some RP happened beforehand to prepare for it. Too many people want to skip RP and head straight into the shooting part, which is not what most of us are here to do. Unfortunately your suggestion doesn't give me the impression that a lot of RP would happen, just a lot of KOS.
  15. Your way of thinking seems to be illogical for a gaming server and also you seem to have something personal against EU. For the record, it's easier to adapt to desync when you first join the server, rather than adapting to it again after months or even years of experience. The logical way of thinking would be to first ask yourself where the majority of the players connect from. Most of the players on the server are from EU. So by that logic, it's common sense to have a server based somewhere in EU, to suit the majority of the playerbase. Because EU is close to NA, the ping/desync difference also isn't all that high. The only players that take a big hit are from Oceania. However as I have said before, players can adapt to the ping/desync after playing for a bit. In conclusion, I see no beneficial reason to move the server from EU to US. If most of the server would be from the US or Oceania, I would support the move.

    Add tazer

Taser is a very strong weapon, especially because of the fast recharge rate. If you wanted, you could use it on someone nonstop and they would never have a chance to retaliate. The range on the taser also isn't all that short either, since it fires a round quite far. Only reason PD has it is because it's the only way they can stop someone that decides to run. They can't just shoot you down like criminals can and run speed is the same for all characters. There's also no way to RP fast enough, like "/me attempts to throw himself onto the suspect". I think it's a healthy trade off, criminals will shoot you down while officers will taser you.
  17. If someone gets a ticket, it's their own fault completely. The whole ticket thing is very lenient as is, because you still get paid normally and the government can't force you to pay them. Besides, spending 15 minutes in jail for not paying a ticket is very little. Logically speaking and also IRL, the government is not going to forget about that money you owe. They'll sit on your assets and all money you get paid by working, they'll take. That's not the case here and honestly, considering jail time is 120 minutes max and fines are 15k, there's absolutely no need to be more lenient. If someone rage quits the server because they kept speeding in areas where there are speeding cameras, then they just lack common sense to slow down in those areas.
  18. It's impossible to predict and write down all possible scenarios. The scenarios provided are just an example and some examples you will have to RP yourself, any way you know how. This is what the quiz ultimately tests, your ability to RP on your own. If you're given an example and how would you RP it, you should figure it out yourself. If you're not capable of adapting yourself to the RP situation, you're unfortunately not fit for a serious RP server. What if you would encounter a certain RP situation in the game and wouldn't be able to RP it? You'd not only ruin the RP situation for yourself, but also everyone around.
  19. It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure it would work out. Most of the things FBI usually takes care of are not possible or are not allowed on the server. Even if we had FIB or IAA in the game as their own factions, how would the faction operate, when and how often would it be able to RP? Most situations that do happen on the server can be managed by police officers, but lets not forget they have SWAT at their disposal too.
  20. The point of the SMS is to notify players with IC means and to even tell them they got a fine in the first place. It makes sense this isn't a 1 time message from the server in the chat. You can always delete the message right after getting it to keep it clutter free. Also if you're a criminal, you should avoid speed cameras since they may tip off the cops to your location, what you're driving and what you look like. It doesn't make sense that you're a wanted criminal, yet you keep speeding through NCZ's, literally asking for trouble. In the end speed cameras are effective and do what they were designed to do, solve a OOC problem IC.

    Laws, fines, etc

If you go on the gov. website, you can see the penal code. It's the 2nd option, right below city hall public website. Though I do agree that having an ingame version of this would be nice. https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/index.php https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSgkMP4BUgMytnbha6Q8ebMshk3nKTjajxaCjSXt3v9_YsJPdXJWj8iF8dcANOMP93f8JiJeNxyw_TC/pubhtml
  22. If you ask me, this rule should apply to anything that has 2 wheels, simply out of common sense. Also from the report you linked, you weren't really that close to him to begin with. Also lets not forget you had heavy weapons on you, you stepped out, while doing so he would be able to see them and well.. any cop alone would get to a safe distance. Again, common sense.
  23. I can see both sides to this. I find it annoying when I see bleets from players that are just saying nonsense or are asking for PD to come to impound. I think bleets should be something weazel takes care of. They should be a service that people have to pay for, after all, everyone on the server will see the bleet. For players that like to post serious posts or complete nonsense, we could have a phone app that we can disable or block people on. VIP's could probably have their messages up on top and in a yellow/gold color to stand out. If there was an option to disable bleets, I would've done so long ago.
  24. That is just a ridiculous fee considering it's only a 20 minute job. It's an insult to other factions at this point...
