.50s in the back

There was a lot of discussions about it before, mostly going in /b during arrests, that resulted in the rule of "if he sees it, he sees." being applied, to put an end to the discussion.

Now I'm suggesting a change to this rule. Some of us (criminals) use some specific outfits for the fact it hides 90%+ of the gun, in hopes that the PD/SD RPing would at least "/do would i notice the gun?" instead of just "hands up you getting arrested".

There are some shirts that would realistically cover the gun but scriptly it just phases through it, I feel that these shirts should hide the guns, whether script-wise or just PR-wise.

For example most of the cholo clothing hide 90%+ of the gun, leaving just the tips phasing through, when realistically they would be hidden with no problems at all.

This is how the gun looks on my back, it is clipping through the clothing, which honestly should be considered a bug. I have been arrested for the gun being seen before. I would accept some RP like stated in OPs post, where we at the very least could RP the cops seeing some kind of outline on the back, and have a chance to escape or react.

I don't see why you would get to eat your cake and have it too. If you carry a gun that is meant to show on your back, it's shown. Could easily argue that hiding it with clothes is bug abusing, same as building in front of your door to hide the smoke from burning drug tables. The gun is meant to have a drawback.

Hot take Alex. It is a completely backwards argument however. No one here is claiming that it isn't meant to be shown on your back. We're saying it realistically doesn't make sense that you can see a gun, that is supposed to be tucked in your back trousers, if you are wearing long baggy clothing that would cover it. It makes total RP sense to be able to cover a gun with certain clothing. The analogy you use is also such a false equivalent as the smoke from a door would naturally move around the object if blocked, seep elsewhere and still be visible. A handgun wouldn't be visible underneath baggy clothing. The drawback of the gun is already there - being arrested if caught with it and jailed. Stating that police or people looking to rob someone being able to go off a gun clipping through a shirt as drawback is just lazy in my opinion

As a person primarily RPing a cop I think this rule adjustment would overall be a good thing but I think the rule would have to be really thought out. For example there should be a clear list of clothing that cops and other people are allowed to RPly see a gun and a list of clothing that we should treat as RPly hiding the gun to avoid any confusion. I also think that maybe another avenue could be taken where as the .50 is the best pistol and the weapon of choice for most criminals to buff the other pistols make all of them invisible on a person like the heavy. That way when your decidng what weapon to take with you you have to decide do you want to take a slightly worse gun with no risk of being stopped for it or a better gun but the chance of being caught by police.

Well, if you think it's bug abuse to try and hide it with clothing, you know where to post that.

But it doesnt make any sense for you to arrest me when only 1~10 percent of the gun is showing. What made you sure its a gun in the first place except for the fact there's scriptly nothing else to put back there? Could easily argue that's metagaming, but lets not go through this discussion.

I'm sorry you might have to give up on some Ws 🙂

NBDY intentionally scripted the .50 to show on your back. if you're carrying a 50. caliber pistol IRL you will see a bulge in someone's clothes, it's borderline non-rp to be able to conceal a pistol so bulky/large. try to find me an example of someone tucking their desert eagle in their waistband and it not being visible from the outside (via a bulge, or physically able to be seen). it's really tough to conceal it... the pistol is 11" long IRL & an awkward shaped hunk of steel.

if you don't want your pistol to be seen, you can use a pistol, a combat pistol or an SNS pistol, as they are small/concealable IRL. NBDY has purposefully scripted it so that the smaller pistols don't appear on your back (because they can realistically be concealed).

I understand most people prefer the .50 because it's the most OP pistol in the game, but if you truly wanted your pistol not to be seen you'd use a smaller pistol.
