  1. I think Bala is spot on with his reply. The way the management team are pushing the server is away from PvP and towards a realistic city. Part of that is the ridiculous prices of weapons, hefty jail times and fines. Unfortunately whether thats what the player base actually wants seems to be irrelevant here. Unless I am mistaken and the majority of people want a city life roleplay experience. I have been a cop on this server for nearly 3 years. I have tried to dip my toes into criminal RP but I don't see why people bother with it too be honest.
  2. Just because a word is accepted amongst different cultures does not make it right.
  3. This is not an IC issue. No Crime Zones are OOCly enforced. Speeding is a crime so it makes sense that your not allowed to speed in No Crime Zones.
  4. I think it would be a good idea under specific circumstances. If someone is RPing as resisting arrest the time taken to RP this shouldnt count towards time served however if its natural RP such as processing someone, questioning them or gathering evidence then it would be great. There are times as a cop where I am trying to speed up a scene to get someone to jail because im mindful they are just sat in the back of the cruiser and have a jail time to serve. If this was in place it would allow me to take more time with my RP scenes without pissing off the person im arresting who wants to get their time started quickly. Also it may make longer sentences more "enjoyable" as part of the sentence will be served doing RP with the officer and gives an incentive to make the processing RP longer than speedrunning a pat down and chuck them into a cell.
  5. While it could be improved I think given the amount of work it would probably take for it to be adjusted to only get a single vehicle at a time or allow vehicles to block plates and only scan front or back plates is not worth it. Some of the scenarios given in this thread would still play out the same regardless of the changes to the MDC or not. And ultimately would you rather development time be spent on something that makes cops spend an extra few seconds adjusting their car to get an angle on a plate or work on something that more of the player base can use.
  6. Date and time (provide timezone): Unsure exact time. GMT +1 Character name: David Bingley Issue/bug you are reporting: Since the new lockpicking minigame was added I have had a lot of issues of it failing when I clearly hit space when it was in the zone. I have recorded two instances of this. I have over 60FPS and my ping is around 30 Expected behavior: The minigame should succeed when you press space when the blue bar is on the green.
  7. Reductions should be put in place for new players only as they may not know how license suspension works and should be shown leniancy. In terms of normal players the time limit is fine. It's not exactly hard to drive properly people just can't be bothered to adhere to traffic laws and if a 2 day license suspension is not enough deterrent lowering the suspension time will just have a negative impact.
  8. So your evidence wasn't valid then? If it was valid even with OOC corruption permission he/she would get in trouble.
  9. No one gets searched because they are a convicted felon or a gang leader. If they are being searched on that reason alone that needs to be taken to IA
  10. I am suggesting adding a static hospital to the map that is supposed to be used by criminals. It wont be as strong as a normal hospital so maybe making it unable to heal you like the current hospitals do overtime or being dropped off their reduces your wellness. The reason for this is in real life after gang shootings or shootouts with police if your taken to the hospital with knife or gun shot wounds the police are called. So IRL sometimes criminals will go elsewhere to seek medical treatment to avoid police detection. This hospital would be RPly unknown by PD so they couldnt just sit outside waiting for injured crims to turn up like they can currently. In return for the ability to avoid the police while getting medical treatment the hospital is not as good compared to the official hospitals we have.
  11. Right now DOC only have glove options for long sleeve shirts
  12. As someone that only plays legal factions I think it should only be removed for people with employment at legal factions. I think that regardless of wealth criminals and people without employment with a legal faction should get it because criminals need cash a lot more than someone in PD does. (To pay for fines, guns etc)
  13. Just use a drag. If you cant lose PD when your on a drag your doing something seriously wrong.
  14. 2 short videos with not much context behind them. One of them involved an admin as well and im inclined to believe they try to uphold a high standard of RP. I can post many clips of crims or civs doing questionable RP with no context behind it but that would be dishonest as context is key. Also if your claiming those clips are non-rp wheres the forum report? You should be reporting them if you think a rule was broken and let the staff team decide instead of making a thread here.
  15. This seems like something to bring up to the staff members managing PD/SD than just posting a complaint on the forums with unsubstantiated claims
  16. Are you the guy I arrested earlier at the beach for reckless op because you thought driving down a steep staircase in a vehicle was a good idea?

    PD RP

As cool as it would be to see behind the scenes of IB it would probably be metagamed and used to evade them so its probably a good idea to keep a lid on how they operate.
  18. As a person primarily RPing a cop I think this rule adjustment would overall be a good thing but I think the rule would have to be really thought out. For example there should be a clear list of clothing that cops and other people are allowed to RPly see a gun and a list of clothing that we should treat as RPly hiding the gun to avoid any confusion. I also think that maybe another avenue could be taken where as the .50 is the best pistol and the weapon of choice for most criminals to buff the other pistols make all of them invisible on a person like the heavy. That way when your decidng what weapon to take with you you have to decide do you want to take a slightly worse gun with no risk of being stopped for it or a better gun but the chance of being caught by police.
  19. Tezhi makes a good point. I would be all for criminals getting more deathRP but in return they have to let gang members die in gang v gang shootouts. Because i've seen people get sprayed down by a swat member just for their buddy to come over slap a gauze with a /me and then /cpr which is frankly piss poor RP. If you guys want realism in PD shootouts I want it in every injury.
  20. PD members are held to a high RP standard and are suspended if they dont follow with it. For example I was suspended from PD for non-rp early into my time in LSPD which I rightly deserved. What I did to get suspended was perfectly allowed within the server rules but was not the standard of RP that LSPD wants so I was punished for it. If you feel that an officers RP is poor submit an OOC IA against them. The system really does work as the people running IA are actually making sure officers are following regulations and punsihing those that dont. But remember that if your not happy with an officers level of RP make sure your level of RP is the same level as you want from them.
  21. I said good RP interactions not just good interactions. But before you start waving your finger at PD look at yourself first.
  22. Maybe if all you have are bad RP interactions with PD you are the problem there.
  23. +1 but as the suggestion says it should only be allowed to be used in the event of someone crashing.
  24. On situations involving PD/SD and a person has been stabalized by a medic but granted deathRP by the officers on scene currently under the rules we have to make a report and wait for an admin to come and slay the person. What I am suggesting is a slight change to this so instead of having to call an admin to slay the person the officers on scene can kill them (it would be ooc and not the officer RPly killing someone) and must involve consent from all parties in ooc chat. The main reason of this change is to save admin time. With how busy admins are with the influx of players not having to deal with situations like these frees their time up. It also saves time for the players as they wouldn't have to wait around for an admin.
