  1. Hi all! Over the years since the script changes have been implemented to show weapons in 2019 and expanded in 2020/21, there have been tons of suggestions here about allowing rp to hide firearms etc when wearing heavy clothing. My suggestion is very simple: I would like to see a clothing item created and available to illegal factions via import and legal characters through gun stores called a "concealed holster" which allows you to hide various, realistic weapons. I think this would allow a more seamless experience for players than any current iteration, as we could still take a "if you see it you see it" approach through script support and allow people further flexibility in their roleplay. Of course there would need to be a little vetting on which clothing would make sense to be worn with the holster, but MOST clothing irl can support a concealed firearm without it printing as long as worn correctly. Obviously bathing suits or no shirt would need to still display the weapon. .50 and suppressed firearms would not fit the holster
  2. I really like this idea. Being able to permanent alias where it makes sense, but to have them generally expire. I think faction leaders and command should be exempt to this though on both sides as they are more prominent members.
  3. +1, Having more clearly defined punishments is better and fixes the problem of staff being on loa's etc to respond to appeals. Dismissing this suggestion because indefinite bans are rarely indefinite just implies you haven't read the suggestion. For those of you that like to rely on "each situation is different" as your escape route, the suggestion has tiered punishments to deal with this. File mods are cringe tho, i'd agree theyre cheating.
  4. I think it's clear that you can ask for OOC consent and confirm the player is going to be online for the required amount prior to initiating the bank robbery. To the second point, I feel that under the current escalation rules a situation where negotiations degrade to the point where it becomes a breach / shootout it would logically follow that DM rights would follow.
  5. I think you've vastly underestimating the complexity of Eclipse's economy and how this idea would be implemented. Even loan companies still operate under simple interest and nothing more. -1, would be nice but far too difficult to implement for the benefit it would provide. You can still draft this IC of course but I don't think script support is appropriate for this.
  6. +1, would be nice if there was some form of "time served" for the portion where someone is in custody while PD/SD is conducting investigations. There's plenty of situations that I've been a part of where the suspects were held for an extended period of time and then subsequently sentenced for the cap which I don't agree with.
  7. +1 The proximity of U and I has little to no impact on legal characters - but is very problematic for crims. Criminal characters need to go into their inventory extremely frequently (generally in stressful situations, exacerbating the issue) and the proximity of u and i makes it extremely easy to fat finger.
  8. You're 100% making an accusation. The actual fact is that only a select few people even have access to physically use the command when not at a locker. If they did it as you put it, then yes it would be an OOC breach of regulation... There's no need to act so immature. +1 to the suggestion as a whole, so long as there is some way to remove armor from the faction loadout beyond what there is currently.
  9. Can we keep on topic
  10. +1 current legal system is far too idealistic and dysfunctional to support the server.
  11. +1
  12. The idea is that having it clearly written in the rules would discourage the action.
  13. +1. Forum reports for minor rule breaks like this would be are excessively time consuming for players and staff. Having a rule or description added to discourage the action would be best.
  14. This is a banging suggestion. Massive +1. Also, QOL update would be incomplete without unhiding archived reports!
  15. +1 Backup rule creates tons of confusion as to who can/cant be involved and factions commonly try to find ways to manipulate it to their advantage. Just remove it.
  16. You may think so, but I'm not. If some rival faction or player has an issue with you and found out the location of your private chop shop etc then i see no issue with them trying to weaponize the police department. It is just a consequence of your interactions.
  17. I always found the animosity towards using police as a criminal confusing. Developed criminal syndicates commonly used police as a either a weapon against other warring / rival organizations, or they would provide information about others in exchange for the police leaving them alone. Here, we have this fake construct that its the worst thing to do - thats just something in tv.
  18. +1 but like shawn said this has been suggested over and over again through the last 6 years and nothing has come of it.
  19. +1 3 active labs is a very low number to begin with, compounded with the long delay before new labs become active its far too restrictive.
  20. It's unlikely that updates will be postponed for the benefit of one or two players doing house robberies. I think the best outcome is just more of a warning when updates are being rolled out, say 30m or so warning.
  21. I don't really feel like the helicam offers any additional advantage in pursuits.. Are we really just malding that now you have a big scary spotlight on you?
