Jordan started following Police balances , Remove backup breach rule and Refund Requests
-
I lowkey fw this idea. But like it would need to be heavily moderated and modified. Don't just straight up "remove" back up breach but it would be cool.
-
I understand this but if this is the case then a lot of people would be needlessly losing their items which they had to work for due to people who break rules. Me personally, im not a fan of the idea of losing something you've worked hard for because someone else breaks the rules all whilst you were trying to follow them. Like for instance: Im sitting in a lab cooking, someone storms in no conversation, no demands, no roleplay whatsoever and just starts shooting me and I die. The person gets reprimanded but I just lost around 50k worth of stuff in a few seconds all because someone else broke the rules. To me that sounds a little unfair and unfortunately its something that happens quite often. It can be very demotivating to people that grind away at stuff like that.

I would like to see what criminals feel about this as they are the ones constantly losing assets due to a multitude of things such as cheaters, rule breakers etc. Either way its not like you put in a refund request and its immediately accepted. There's a group of staff that oversee the situation being requested for a refund before issuing a refund or not. Not a fan of removing them entirely. If im in a lab and I get shot and killed by someone with ESP and Aim yeah im gonna need a refund cause the way I lost my assets was completely unfair.

Off Grid was not a bad faction for the server. Lets keep things on topic please.
-
Im saying your attitude about the faction is all wrong. I didn't miss any point. I think the arrogance in implying theres absolutely nothing problematic about LEO v Crim at the moment is strange, if your whole contribution to the conversation is "Maybe its best they left" or "They're a dime a dozen" then its not contributing at all. The suggestion was about balancing police, its probably best that we stick to the topic at hand.
-
We shouldn't be saying this about our factions on the server. Factions (Criminal and Legal both) are essential corner stones to our server and our community. They present a multitude of different avenues for roleplay. You into cars? Want to roleplay a character that races? Off Grid, SVR, that vibe. Want more violent criminal hood style? OTF. Want something more professional/mafia based? ESM, Rooks. It's not as simple as "Maybe its best they leave"

I can agree with some of the points made here. Firstly, Bala is right, even if the PD/Crim argument is tended to, and changes are made there will always be something on the server to cause outrage. However I woefully disagree with the idea that "You hate the game not the player" As someone who has been playing crim for two years straight I think its safe to say the imbalance is very apparent, and whether or not thats the intended outcome that "police are meant to win" isn't really the problem its the fact that there are standout bad actors that have gone completely unpunished, and unnoticed. If we're looking to have better roleplay interactions I feel that there needs to be a higher standard for roleplay on BOTH sides. For instance there are clips going around of PD wasting an entire room of criminals and then saying stuff like "Shit gang" I dont think thats appropriate roleplay for police, I just don't think that'd even slide in real life without some severe reprimand, nor do I think it should slide oocly as all it does is breed toxicity within the community. At the same time I dont think crims should be going around blaming ALL of PD. There are some exemplary models in the LEO community for sure. I have heard loads of praise about Jessica Nash for instance, however I cannot speak on her interactions as I have only interacted with her once or twice. I think as a community we need to take more responsibility for our own actions.

In that case for what its worth: I believe the mass decline in OTF's case has nothing/very little to do with gang suppression. From what I know it was a lot of internal things. I misunderstood the quote.
-
For the record as someone that was affected by recent events of OTF's changes I can say while this member count represents players that are IN the faction not all of them are active, and some of them are brand new brought in to "revive" the faction. The majority of OTF's roster has left and splintered off. Me being one of them.

Change in wording for General Rule #7 (IC and OOC Interactions)

Really cool seeing this thread get some love after 2 years! -
Yes im american, and no he is not 100% correct, Probably best to stick to the conversation at hand instead of arguing semantics. Whether or not we agree how often or easy it is to get shot really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
-
It's mostly: If someone has lost something, or died in an altercation its probably getting reported. I see nothing wrong with players reporting if/when they lose something. If you believe a rule has been broken, then you believe that you had lost your items unfairly, you should feel the right to report it. What player gets into an altercation where someone uses an exploit to kill them, or breaks a rule to get an advantage and suddenly they lose their valuable items they worked hard for to get. Additionally its not like getting a report accepted means you automatically get your things back. A refund request still has to be made, and reviewed, and then accepted by members high in staff. TLDR: I dont see anything wrong with players being able to report supposed rulebreaks if they have been/think they have been wronged.

You will likely get mugged, but we have rules on that, however I reckon an ass beating is 100000000% more likely than getting straight up shot.
-
There are cherry picked scenarios where this happens yes, but we are talking on a broader scale, in reality most of the time: No, you will not be shot for something as little as a simple insult

+1 I cannot tell you how much of a pain it is, to have a nearly destroyed car, on the brink of being absolutely totaled, getting to Benny's only to find the mechanics clocked on are all the way at bayview, now I have to drive all the way to bayview without so much as touching something. The Repair kits only do so much, and are already costly.
