+1 There's so much that could be changed to develop a better experience for our player base as they're in prison. Ultimately, a lot of it needs script support which makes things tough.

More Variety for Black Market Dealers
Zion Willard replied to Benjamin Berg's topic in Criminal Suggestions
IDK about AP when the majority of police is using 50/100 AP but +1 for more availability for special heavy weapons so long as the cost is in line with the value. -

+1 but there would need to be a cap on how many players can take place in a bank robbery.

I disagree wholeheartedly. Transparency leads to accountability. Additionally, if you think the report culture has been shifted in any way shape or form by this change you're grossly mistaken. I can guarantee that reports are still circulated in private circles and people will view and track them. The only real change this has had is making rules more obscure. Tough decisions are part of any form of moderation, and the fear of having negative perception by the community does not in my opinion justify removing reports from public view entirely. The only real impact I have seen from this change is more frequent rule breaks. -
House robbery picklocking attempts failed 2x bug
Zion Willard replied to SmileyMusic's topic in Paulius
Whether you succeed or not is based on a server side check, so when the server receives your input is when it registers as you actually hitting the button - and is delayed by latency. If you're higher ping you'll need to imagine the bar starting twice your latency sooner. -
Melee injuries register as gunshot wounds and headshots not registering
Zion Willard replied to Eliza's topic in Paulius
I believe this is an unintentional consequence of the script changes to melee damage. If i had to guess, my assumption is that melee was converted to a firearm to allow devs to adjust the damage values. -
Remove traffic camera on Los Santos Freeway (exiting the city)
Zion Willard replied to Danny_V's topic in Archive
This seems like an IC issue tbh -
Licenses are, by nature, going to show what they're licensed for but I definitely support needing to look through the MDC to confirm validity. This obviously would require dev support to show the actual status of licenses in the MDC. All in all, I support the addition of fake ID's. On the other hand, there are a million complex issues that surround implementation of an idea like this that would need to be worked out in order to prevent causing more harm than good.

The requirement to have a faction thread constantly maintained in order to become official is what drives this. AI and AI generated posts aren't the problem. It's simply become a box that needs to be checked rather than an optional place to post stories, and due to this people will look for the quickest and easiest way to check that box.

personal drug tables exploding even on cool
Zion Willard replied to SallyBoy321's topic in Criminal Suggestions
Agreed, if you're actively maintaining the lab it should not explode. Additionally, certain drugs like Meth or Crack should have a higher probability of blowing up when the table transitions to the next state (warm/hot/hot hot). -
Why is nobody talking about this? Clearly the best suggestion to hit the forums in ages. Bump!!

+1 I don't understand why anyone would think less transparency is a good thing. -
Editing hud placement would be a massive +1 from me. Getting shot by a person with a suppressor role playing a bush wookie and barely being able to notice your hp / ap dropping until you're injured is not super immersive.

+1 can think of so many RP scenarios where /die would have been better than whatever else i did

More players = more people breaking serious rules. If you're referring to the bans associated with goblins/fog/vory/67 - just because you don't know exactly what happened doesn't mean they weren't warranted. Personally I agree that permanent bans for seasoned veterans after a minor rule-breach is excessive, and could/should be changed but that's just my personal opinion. This discussion has happened many times, and senior staff has consistently stated they will not change punishment guidelines.
-
Not even close. In 2019 people would stockpile rulebreak clips for one person and then spam 5-10 reports on them at one time. You might feel that petty reports are more common now but you couldn't be more wrong.
-
This couldn't be further from the truth. If you were around for any of the larger scale gang wars or during the times of heightened conflict between PD/Crim you'd see that the report culture in earlier years was a whole different beast to now.

As of right now, the script states that it is an explosion within an apartment building. As others have stated, this does warrant and make it a crime scene. If there was a chance in the script that some tables would ignite and start a fire, start producing toxic gas, or explode, I think this would allow more of a chance for varying levels of response.

I've always condsidered the RP environment in Los Santos to be closer to Central America. I get your point but I think equating crims methods to the Taliban is a bit of a stretch. I agree that a culture shit would be great for the server, but its a two-sided coin. Things are escalating so quickly because nominal crimes you would expect people to perform in a virtual world (i.e speeding, other traffic violations / non-serious misdemeanors) are getting the book thrown at them. This thread probably isnt the place for the discussion though - but I wasn't advocating a rules change simply a script change to the treasury of PD to be more realistic. I agree 100% that shootouts are too common and players lives' are essentially just a currency right now - but at the end of the day nobody will willingly engage in roleplay if they know they'll lose 95-100% of the time purely do to balancing issues (whether it be shootouts or not).

Many real life officers carry equipment supplemental equipment that isn't paid for by the state in the US. However, there are places where officers mistakes are already penalized monetarily so I personally dont feel that any monetary fine should be paid for by officers themselves. What I think would be a positive change however, would be if the PD treasury was more accurately funded. This would allow for costs to the faction based upon equipment used by officers where fines paid and xyz monthly amount funds the treasury. This would allow for more immersive RP within the Police department where certain officers could be scriptly in charge of monitoring the treasury and allocation funds for operations and divisions. While I think this would be immersive and beneficial, I think other areas are in much more need of script support.
