Speed Cameras / Speed Traps

Recommended Posts

Look, I've been in a City a couple of weeks now and I'm earning peanuts and I'm not even arsed at that. What I AM arsed about is the government takin' all my peanuts away because I'm travelling 10-50km/h above the legal limit in certain areas.

It's like I'm earning from my delivery job just to pay these stupid speeding fines! How am I meant to be moving up in the world if I can't move fast around the world?

Basically, like, is there a place where I can see where all the speeding cameras are?

A safe and responsible driver will always look at their speedometer. They will not rely on cruise control nor keep their foot on the gas. Ease up on the gas pedal and you’ll see the number of tickets you get decrease.

Your reaction to you breaking the law and admitting your inability to control your vehicle is to throw a fit ? Speed cameras are only placed in a few areas of the city, besides that all you have to worry about are police setting up a speed trap.

If you don't want to get fined don't speed, if you car's cruise control is broken then rely on your speedometer.

from the grapevine I have heard that most of the cameras are located near the ncz areas. I would suggest that you follow the speed limit because the police will catch you and if they do it'll be worse that just a ticket.

In terms of jobs you should consider being a farmer as the pay is a lot better than being a delivery driver. One job at the farm will be able to fund your monthly rent of a property.

Speed Cameras are located in NCZ Zones. My guide is when you approaches NCZ Zone, enable cruise control. When you leave it far enough disable cruise control and get to your full speed unless you see any police.

In country or highways you ae pretty much fine you can just drive at full speed

I don't like the speed cameras and I say this as a cop. They add those bullshit 10 min reckless operation charges, of which it takes nearly half the sentence to process them. You also have to explain to someone why they are going to jail after they've paid their ticket as well. Then, you have all the extra vehicles impounded as a result.

But the biggest problem for me is that Speed Cameras mix. They are put there for an OOC purpose in an OOC No crime zone, but have IC consequences.
The Pillbox Hill camera should be removed, since it's not the Medics spot anymore.

The only place really where the speeding is an issue, is the Bank, because there are a lot of people and a lot of cars. Get rid of the rest and keep it IC.

The only problem I have with the cameras is the ones at pillbox. I turned off cruise a bit to early (heading out of town up the freeway) and got hit by the camera but not once, but twice by the same camera? I understand it was my own fault and take full responsibility for prematurely releasing cruise early but that just seems a joke to me.

Hello Citizens of Los Santos, the Speed Cameras were installed on behalf of City hall, not the Los Santos Police Department, or the San Andreas Sheriffs. The speed cameras were introduced because of the drivers in the city constantly and consistently striking civilians both on the side walk and crossing the roads. These incidents, as failing to drive responsible is not an accident, but is a direct and reckless action, caused both the medical and police teams to be overwhelmed with excess calls from civilians being stricken whilst on sidewalks and cross walks.

Since the implication of the speed cameras we have seen a decrease of Motor Vehicle Incidents in the affected areas by roughly 68% and some areas to the point of 79%.... these number aside from fines that non civilized drivers are paying, have in them selves justified the implication and maintenance of the cameras. Should the citizens of Los Santos learn to drive in a respectful and civilized manor then perhaps we can discuss their removal, but whilst roughly 200 reckless operation charges are placed a week by both officers and cameras, we are far from that point.

@GOATwhilst you may disagree with the city implementing cameras designed to increase safety of both civilian and motorist you are a law enforcement agent thus you will report to have a conversation pertaining to speaking out on behalf of the department with neither the authority or the permission to do so. I look forward to seeing you in my office shortly.

Good Morning Mr Bacon

As a citizen that has not long come to the City, I heartily agree with the original petitioner here, I understand due to manpower and resources, you have had to implement speed cameras, and with good reason, the issue here, Is that some cameras trigger twice for the same offence, the fines far outweigh the earning potential of the current economy.

Not to mention, that when fines are paid, some of us are not aware that we also face imprisonment with further fines, for an offence that we would have worked hard to pay off in the first place, so, admittedly, you cannot do anything about the cameras, but as a man in your position, you can surely help stand for the citizens of Los Santos and help us petition the extra charges and/or the imprisonment penalty if we have paid the fine, (Sometimes twice over due to the current camera system).

Have you tried not speeding?

I agree with him, they shouldn't exist... What everyone does is going 200km/h and then breaking till the breaks burn untill 70km/h and then back to 200km/h.

This radars make no sense. It's actually hard not to speed when you don't have control over your pedal either you go all-in or all-out there's no mid term in our cars in the city.

Help!
