  1. Well the gov forums are very easy to find, check the main page here. You can create a second character and create a new RP story so you can become a cop/civilian, assuming you meet the requirements of the factions. There are many "how tos" that have been created.

    Police

    1. Catch up daily - Both departments hold 10-1s (role call meetings) to discuss issues and concerns, these happen 2-3 times per day. 2. PR events - Why would I subject my members to harassments and trolling attitudes? I have no concern with giving information to people if they going to be civil, but 9 out of 10 times, I am gonna get the F 12 mentality, which i dare you to walk into a police press conference and say that RL. Than when I act we get threatened with "forum reports". I wont force members of the department to be forced to subject themselves to this. 3. LSPD was doing these weekly press release events and they were open to the public, than restricted to weazle, than it was stopped due to the fact no one showed up. (we removed the public due to the trolling attitude, and the F-12 mentality that showed up every time we let civilians in. The same issue that JB is dealing with in court hearings.) 4. This isn't gonna happen, I am not forcing members to participate in Group Therapy session, this has always been optional and hosted my MD if people want it they can get it there, not going to force people into that rp. 5. In house laundry, officers don't take their uniforms to the cleaners, this is done by cleaning staff. 6. I don't see how this would generate any RP for the cop, or players. 7. I don't see how this will generate RP, it puts a person away from players rather involved in them. 8. Interrogations happen frequently, if you haven't participated in them, perhaps the crimes your comitting don't need investigated, as they are cut and dry. I can say that I do them fairly often, but they tend to be very 5 minute rp... person lawyers up and refuses to answer questions, so we use the evidence and charge them accordingly. 9. Not going to force cops to do this type of rp, we file arrest reports and incident reports for every arrest that is done, this is sufficient. 10. IA would love to meet with people in game, but it is difficult due to timing, and 9/10 times no additional information is needed from the complainant. I personally have 15 un-read emails pertaining to IA cases that civilians have filed, if i cant get hold of them in e-mail to ask questions, how am i going to get hold of them with email to schedule a meeting? 11. There is a parole system inplace within the LSSD, I can assure you that 95% of players will not enjoy being forced to check in with a cop every couple of hours. We do have plenty of internal RP, Perhaps you didn't participate in it as often as some do. I do recall your time with us, and you were more of a field cop than a paper work officer. There are frequent meetings for officers/supervisors/command/staff. Folks meet up for coffee, breaks, chats, they do paperwork in the bullpen of mission row. I have even made people clean the brickades in public as punishment for returning with a smashed up cruiser. There is tons of rp, just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening, I personally enjoy the internal RP more than a shoot out any day. Whilst a shoot out is fun when it starts, we have to clean it up and take the bodies away where as other play styles can leave them and continue their day. At the end of the day, the LSPD and LSSD have plenty of internal RP to the point some folks log 10-15hrs a week without leaving the stations. Just because the RP is not in the public view doesn't mean its not happening. I appreciate ideas, but our intention is to have officers playing the game and in the field where they get the opportunity to RP with other players and to create relationships with not only other LEOs but players from other walks of life also.
  3. Well bud, come on over and try it. this is a game not RL, nor is this SAMP. I respect based on all your other posts that you are very ANTI PD, but you need to realize that the law enforcement has the hardest regulations in place. Regardless, I posted what has been my experience, and it is a shame Lucas that rather than being constructive or providing inciteful information rather than saying if it is good enough for one its good enough for all. If you can make it so that people can be on multiple frequencies at once I'm game for it. I would also like to suggest than, that if this is the case, where you want realism, that we push more avenues of it, such as stacks of cash having more weight to them... 100k in small bills is a pile of weight.
  4. I am sorry you feel this way Lucas, but everything I stated is the truth and honest. LEOs have not received and update, or advantage in any of the recent updates, there has only been reduction in our equipment, budgets and tools we have at our disposals. We have also added and become more strict on our internal rules of the faction. If you feel it is so easy, I would suggest you try the rp from our side of the coin also and see how you feel after seeing our 200 page manual and department regulations.
  5. The LSPD tried to use in-game channels for our Tac situations, and found that this was not possible due to the amount of traffic, complexity, and requirements for supervisors to control more than one situation at one time simultaneously. We ran extensive testing on this for an extended period of time a while ago, and found that as much as the Leaders of LSPD wanted it to work, (believe me we do, as policing TS is a full time job, and often rewards members with punishments) we could not get it to work properly and/or reliably. When it comes to the IC advantages of PD and their radios, please remember that RL police radio communications are far superiors to anything that 99% of civilian and criminal have access to, not to mention the police departments ability to close off all frequencies outside their own in circumstances requiring it. I personally would love for us to be able to use solely the ingame radios, as it would make life alot easier for faction members, but unfortunately its just currently not reasonable, practical, or functional to the extent required. Just imagine you have 30 people across situations, and the Sherriffs than get called in to help... now you have even more people all trying to figure out which radio, and bombarding the frequency... unfortunately it just doesn't work... YET - fingers crossed it gets sorted out!
  6. The problem with this is it would be considered a non road worthy vehicle and be impounded, and in accordance with the law could be held for extended periods if repeat offenses occur. I have watched a few rl cop videos in my days here, as a RP cop. I have also god forbid watch "parking wars" where meter maids scan plates at 50kph going down a residential road lined with cars, and every plate is scanned, its position on the street tagged and logged, and any that have been sitting for an excess of x minutes are flagged for investigation. Any with outstanding tickets are flagged for towing. It is all automated, I also have a fair few buddys that are cops RL, and I can assure you that the plate search return pops up in a matter of 10seconds. (Hell a cop pulled out behind me one day (rl) and ran my plate, and had his lights on before we made it one block at 60kph, because my registration was about to run out in 2 weeks, and he wanted to make sure I knew). I agree the Mini MDC needs an update, as does the main MDC, and both have been on the LEO dev request list for sometime. I do not speak on behalf of the department, and it has been a long time since I enjoyed the crim life, that said I would aim for a balance between realism and fun. From my standpoint, I would like to see front back and side scanners, similar to RL speed sensors, I would also like to see a hand held variant so that a cop could be on the side of the road flagging cars for officers down the road. That said I would also like to see it remain fun for everyone else, and the License plates would require extended scan time (Someone flying past shouldn't give a plate), but if i manage to keep up for 10 seconds, than the plate is there for me to use. I would also like to see it not show all the cars, but unfortunately I think this will be rather difficult, I am not a programmer but i believe the MDC operates on a Cone type scan system. (anything within 15 degrees of center and out 15feet (random numbers I have no idea) ) is returned to the display. The limiting of what is shown would be difficult as it could present issues with getting the one car you need, when there are 20 in front of you, like at the bank, pier or other popular places. Whilst the MDC works, it is still the same script that was implemented before I joined over 4.5 years ago.
  7. The goodrp thing existed some time ago but was abused by players and thus was removed. There is no way to moderate or control this currently and as such it isn't practical to use, also the feeling of good rp vs rp vs bad rp is heavily construed by the standards of one player vs that of an other. What you and I may consider good rp could be extremely different.
  8. You can buy food at 24/7s the issue is with the introduction of burgershot all foods save sandwiches, chocolate and donuts were removed from stores. Also they changed the import costs of sandwiches to over double previous figures, thus stores had to raise their prices to cover costs. There are stores around with sandwiches, just gotta find em!

    Jail Times

Without alluding to much of PD policy, Response to pursuits are driven by active units, active situations, persons believe to be involved, crimes committed, and naturally vehicle type dictates special unit deployments. As a long time serving member of the LSPD and Eclipse RP... I can tell you those that have been around for a while, would much rather a good RP situation than a pursuit or a shoot out any day. Whilst shoot outs are fun in the moment for some people, LSPD spends upwards of 1-2 hours post situation cleaning up the bodies, weapons, cars, bullets etc. We are required to clean up our messes. I would much rather have a random friendly interaction with a player any day over a pursuit or gun fight, and I am sure this sentiment is shared by alot of the senior members of the department. In summary, there are alot of conditions that a pursuit requires to gain alot of units. There are of course exceptions (Violence, guns, gangs) that result in escalation quickly.
  10. Road crews are not emergency response persons. If there is an emergency scene why not call the LSPD for escort or the LSEMS for a firetruck. You are a construction crew, not an emergency service
  11. I personally rarely alias folks i interact with in public unless they make a lasting impression... someone I arrest 9 times out of 10 wont get aliased. Hell i dont alias my co workers until they make a lasting impression (There are sergeants in the department that I dont interact with often enough to alias.) Personally I think this would be a good idea, but there would have to be a limit, as so many people change their looks so often, example being Bala, someone I have worked with at LSPD for 3 years, but he changes his hair at least twice a month :D. Really i think it should be up to the player to determine if the person they are aliasing has provided enough of an interaction to be remembered.
  12. They already massively reduced the stock of stores, my store cant even run 24 hours without needing refilled now. 150 bottles of water, and sandwiches barely last a week day, let alone a weekend day. I would like to see it so that Stores, Gas Stations ETC. can have employees working the counters. Example - Player goes to Chumash 24/7 similarly to burgershot, goes to a spot inside the store and clocks on duty. -This would be hard for stores to pay for, as it would be a fluctuating number for when someone is actually working vs when the npc is working thus i think it should pay similarly to burgershot, a base salary + a commission on product sales. Also employees would require to be hired by the store to work for them, thus interviews and so on. Just a thought to increase player interactions around stores.
  13. I like Timmaayy's idea Yellow = 50-75% Red = 50% or less I would also think rather than the cruise run based on speed limits that it be setable, but would need a command. Currently we use /cruise "speed" Could use /cruise 1 "speed" /cruise 2 "speed" /cruise 3 "speed" but would say limit it at 3.... or an even better option would be that if your driving along, and press the "k" key to turn on your cruise, it sets it to the speed your currently traveling, more along the lines of RL cruise control!
  14. From a my stand point, it is hard enough to keep one police department staffed on eclipse let alone creating a second department, for a second server.
  15. This seems like something that could be handled ingame by a player that wants to start an auction house up.
  16. We choose to be law enforcement, and adhere to strick guidelines... and it is rare to see officers get killed and go right back to shift, most stick to mission row for a while filling out some paperwork (yes i mean real paperwork pd completed over 30k pieces of paperwork this year). I understand that crime side players feel that PD should have to pay for their gear, and cars, and equipment, but show me a police department in the USA that requires there officers to pay for their own equipment... or even take their own personal firearms on shift with them. We are there as a reactive force to actions of other organizations, we do not start gunfights but respond with like or greater force, it is incredibly rare that officers shoot, let alone shoot first. The only time in 4years of being a cop that I have shot first is when someone pulled out a gun and pointed it at me, when mine was already pointed at them. Often times I dont shoot even in that instance.
  17. Not in the part of Canada i live in, if i wanna pay a fine, i need to head to my local court house to pay the tickets. It isn't suppose to be convenient, its meant to be part of the punishment for being a moocha!
  18. anychance of publishing these in larger pictures, a bit hard to read... or maybe a link to the originals! Would to love to read these without my magnifying glass.. (save the old foggies eyes)
  19. Well if you want performance modifications to cars, that would require the impacts of each fuel tested across each car to ensure no bugs are present. I imagine this is a bigger task then you'd expect. As for damage to the engine this would mean that a entire system created to work on the bases of car degradation over time. (wear and tear on a car) <- something I would love to see that over time your car requires oil changes, tires, and parts in order to maintain it... the worse the "wear and tear" the more it costs... prolonged driving at high rates of speed increase tire wear... and damage to the vehicles combustion engine, and components... similarly how race cars burn through parts and tires absurdly quickly.... standard street tires are not built for the heat, pressure and forces that are generated by a car doing 200kph, it takes special tires to be able to maintain these speeds for anything more then a couple moments... Take your car to a race track and do 30minutes of driving, and check out the marbles on your tires... assuming your car will go that fast!
  20. Issue with that statement Krish, is that If we permit officers to patrol in Jugulars then folks will state its unrealistic for that type of car to be out on patrol. Thus they are held back and only deployed in instances that require it, to prevent excessive amounts of specialized vehicles being deployed (kamacho, drafter, jugular, caracara helis etc.)
  21. The NCZs are not intended to be vehicle storage areas, mechanics, LSPD, LSSD will remove vehicles from these areas and take them to the impound lot frequently if one is seen in the same spot for extended periods. They are impounded with a fee as you would expect for illegally parking outside a business that has a parking meter.... As for people knocking your car out of NCZ, I would suggest you snap a picture when you leave your car if it is consistently happening to you. I have never had it happen in 4 years, but i dont leave cars in the bank parking row for more then 5 minutes.
  22. Folks in prison should be generating rp rather then relying on others to do it for them. I spent a fair bit of time in there recently on my criminal, and was actively engaged in RP the entire time. (Jtime was 4.5hours) The trick was to avoid fighting in prison to open up the mess that is the improper escalation of attacking people in prison. If people fight the guards will lock you in a room and throw away the key, to prevent it becoming complete mess that they can't rp and do their jobs inside. There was obviously groups that were gang friends and so on, the issue is that folks go to prison and expect to be provided rp by the guards rather then create it themselves...It doesn't only need to be about stealing a handful of stamps, find more meaningful ways... gamble it, make friends, allies, gun deals, protection rackets...etc.
  23. I would like to point out that if the rp of smashing the window was practical, firstly cruisers have cages in their back seats (bars on windows) secondly if that is the logic for getting someone out of the car, why is that RP not appropriate for stealing a car, or cops trying to search one.... we are forced to rply get keys, or picklock the cars. Smashing to gain access has been consider alternative rp thus isn't accepted without expressed permissions. (Run into this trying to search a non complaint/rp friendly players car)
  24. Sounds like you shouldn't trust em to use your car...
