  1. your essentially an immigrant not everyone is going to hire someone off the get go.... trucking company would be hesitant to hire someone that has no experience in the country... but I can understand that hence why some of the jobs are set at 0... and the points are obviously open to change.
  2. @Jasmine I would like to state all the information your requesting is IC information and 90% can be gained via the Government website. The government is run by players and is managed via IC means. Before speaking out against them, I would look into some research on the IC website that the government faction hosts. As for the implications of the stores that is ooc as it is strictly a development item and was introduced by developers to increase opportunities for more players. The stores have always existed its not like they went and created the stores, all they did was made it so that the stores can be own'd by players rather then NPCs. If you want transparency in your government requesting it OOC aint gonna do it, talk to a government official in person or email them icly and talk to them about it.
  3. cruise control works fine, only time you need to re toggle is when you get in the car.... but you shouldn't need to rely on it... do you rely on your cruise control to limit how fast you drive you real car on the streets? Because real cruise is used to hold a speed, but allows you to go above said speed, not prevent you speeding, it is the drivers responsibility to ensure they aren't speeding. If people are joining this server it is to RP, thus should be taking it seriously otherwise they can and likely will impact the rp of others in the community and unfortunately the impacts are often negative.
  4. well tbh this is an RP server, people should make half an attempt to drive responsibly and actually make an attempt at a real sorta approach rather then a GTA online style of play.
  5. I like this idea, I at one point made a suggestion on a point system. Good behaviour (normal day to day life) accumulates points +1 every 10mins or something Ticket = -5 points Misdemeanor = - 20 points Felony = -50 points. Each type of job would require a certain amount of points to be eligible.... kinda like a criminal record check Each new player would start with a point balance of 0 if they got a ticket they would lose 5 points, and can go negative. Jobs Courier 0+ Farmer 0+ Bus 25+ Trucker 40+ and even player run factions could use this system also if they choose. If someone employed in one of the above jobs drops below the minimum points then they would be terminated from employment and would have to reapply (rejoin) once they meet the requirement. Example: I am employed as a trucker with (43points) making my deliveries, (or driving home from work) I speed through a speed camera and get a speeding ticket.... well I just lost 5 points and once I complete my deliveries should I not be above 40 points by the time I return the truck my position would be terminated. I am employed as a farmer, and I rob the farmer beside me and the cops catch me, well that's robbery - 20points, I lose 20points, that puts me below the minimum points requirement and paul wont hire me anymore. But. I am a trucker with a perfect driving record and don't do anything wrong, and have been well behaved for a long time. I get a speeding ticket, well I lost 5 points but im at + 65 so now im at 60 points... so I don't lose my job just need to be careful.
  6. If it was implemented I think it should require a sequence like the one on one of the heists... a mini game... and it would take time, and as soon as its tampered with it would trigger a blip.... red marker.... So if you leave the area it triggers red, or if its tampered with it Triggers red, both PD and DOC receive a notification, with location tracking. Once removed the blip would remain stationary at the position removed, and would require an officer/doc member to go deactivate the blip.... that way some RP can happen with finding it, and also the owner/probationer would have his name attached to it so that people would know who got away.
  7. now were talking... active gps ankle bracelets... and increased jail time should they breach parole... exceeding the 2hour mark... make it actually something to fear... rather then... ah I only get 2hours so fuck it ima kill cops, rob the store and then shoot up LSC Prison time needs to be something that is feared... only about 10 people ive ever met actually rp being afraid to go to prison.
  8. but whats stopping them just getting the vehicle... and screwing about? ignoring the responsibilities.?
  9. @Astrox As I stated earlier. The faction has been founded, any changes in its structure, development are all IC and must be treated that way. Same as any other faction. Only OOC stuff that should be brought up would be concerning scripting and server support, not governmental structure reforms. I was not here to argue but rather bring light to the points you had mentioned. and explain how other factions grow and develop. I hold everyone in high regard but based on experience I know that people don't take certain things seriously... interacting with police, medics or gov't officials, treat it like a joke, so to expect an election to be a good representation of who would be the best to lead would be a poor assumption. That and with players coming and going via their own discression or via rule breaks, having someone who on an alt receives monthly/bi monthly punishments would not be a good plan as it would cause the gov't to end up with similar issues as weazle is unfortunately experiencing at this time.
  10. @Astrox As I stated, the government is run by the commissioners. Which are Ballin by Nature, and Harmdone, (Both high ranking members of the Admin team, as high as they get actually). The faction was created in order to give a more civilian player base to the community. Now coming here and complaining that its not doing something... or that it needs a "reform" when it is such a young faction is both not necessary nor is it constructive. The government I doubt will ever be elected officials, and if it is, I believe that criminals with oh... lets say 100 felony imprisonments wouldn't have the right to vote, (as in RL they would be in jail for 100 lifetimes) Meaning only the PD, MD, DOC, Bayview, LSC, DCC, and a select few other players would have the appropriate requirements to vote. Secondly those voting, incase you haven't noticed, this is a game and everyone likes to troll. There are members in the government faction working hard to create it, this stuff doesn't just pop up overnight. I have been in this community for over 15months, and looking at yours you have been here for less then 2. As I said, if your looking to help develop the faction, join it as an intern and work within the faction, earn the respect of those that created it and have dedicated hours to it. I know a couple have put more hours into creating that faction then others have in the entire community. Its the same as any faction, you start at the bottom and work your way up.... Example: PD, join as an applicant, complete training become a cadet, serve time and training become a PO I, time and training, PO 2, more time and training, and it continues, each rank takes more time, and different trainings to progress, as I said ive been here 15months in the PD faction on my main, and am at the rank of captain... so expecting to get to the top in a week just because you have ideas.... is not how it will work. Join the faction, help it grow and change.
  11. I like the idea, and you have a good start, its a matter of how to develop it into something that is feisable without straining alright strained factions like PD, and DOC.....
  12. you would think that arming them would be better, but the PD is armed well in my oppion but is still assaulted daily for basic stuff as a speeding ticket.
  13. problem I see is that there aren't to many "non" dangerous criminals.... 90% of the criminals that get put in jail are for murder, or attempted murder, possession of illegal firearms... meaning only 1 in 10 would be able to take advantage of this... also would need people willing to actually rp during there sentences, I have noticed the last week that there seems to be more RP in the prison which is amazing. but I think this is a good idea if we had low end offenders. That and how would you prevent someone from going on community service and just his friends show up in mass and kill the doc guard and they take off?
  14. I feel that the government is doing okay with its current roles, and if you want to see change considering the faction has been created and is run by players, then join the faction, work your way to a trusted position, invest time and effort into it like the members that currently influence its development did. Then work to improve it. I personally don't see this suggestion going anywhere as it is clearly making ooc suggestions to an IC faction. Best of luck though, and hopefully you join up and work with them and try to help develop it.
  15. I agree there is a lot that needs done to facilitate the increase in jtime, a court system would be good also, but its hard to plea innocent to shooting a cop or murder when there is no way for dectectives to collect ballistics and evidence beyond /me and /do, as rules state you cant lie in a /do but it happens all the time.
  16. No a failure to pay a fine is 15mins in jail and 500$, but when you add on multiple reckless operation tickets, which are misdemeanors then you can get to max time quickly especially when you drive at 200kph in the city.
  17. not paying a fine is 15mins in jtime. so if your getting max time its because your getting reckless operation which is 45mins per. so if you get 3 your max time.
  18. fines don't send you to jail unless you fail to pay them in the allotted time. Same as in rl.
  19. @TheCanadian Yes my main is a cop, but I also frequent my criminal, and do criminal activities. I have faced and served jail time for crimes I have done on my criminal, I know it can be boring in there, but rather then complain about it why not help develop ideas and "productive" suggestion threads rather then just complaining. Join DOC, make suggestions to them, and have the leadership present a list to the official faction leaders admins... same as PD does, PD has a huge list of stuff that has been discussed and suggested by members of the faction and by those in other groups, we put together a comprehensive list of positives and negatives for each suggestion, along with suggestions on how it can be implicated as-well as how it would benefit the masses. One that was put forward 6months ago weapons licensing got added. Some of the suggestions get turned down, others get approved, some we don't hear from... its a matter that the development team is very busy trying to generate updates and content for all sides of the server... so if you want to make suggestions, I recommend getting in touch with a member of the faction management team and putting together a list, with complete thoughts. Positives, negatives and what benefits it will have. Patience is key when making suggestions.
  20. If you passed your quiz you know all the locations... assuming you did the quiz and read the rules yourself.
  21. first issue with this logic, is that people don't commit petty crimes, there are a TON of them that hold very low jail time, see the penal code https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qMm9u2Tl59RBpNyNSA88G7WYPFwiOgzXqL-1cWgAHEc/edit#gid=123845845 Problem is that most people play like this is GTA online. I can assure you if you shot at anyone in real life the judge / jury and lawyers are going to hammer you with attempted murder (assuming you didn't kill em) they are going to get you with aggrevated assault, brandishing a firearm, unlicensed possession of a firearm... if you leave the scene, felony evasion, if you cause a pursuit... felony evading, reckless operation, felony public endangerment, at the minimum, god forbid you shoot at a cop and then run.. Attempted murder of a LEO Felony Evaision Felony Public Endangerment Unlawful discharge of a firearm Brandishing a firearm Reckless Operation of a road vehicle Assault with a deadly weapon (your car is a deadly weapon) Resisting Arrest Those are the ones on the top off my head.... these in real life in the usa would = death penalty where possible if not its 25-life with no chance of parole. So you complain about people getting max time, well dont be "gangbangers" be citizens, i can assure you my criminal was as hard as anyone elses, (was one of the leaders of the original irish back about 8months ago) thing was i was smart about it, i didn't run around with aks on me if i didn't need it... didn't ever shoot at cops, because that doesn't make sense to... if they caught me, well then they caught me but never did i get max time, because i didn't stack up a huge list of charges by being foolish and trying to kill my way out of it. Treated them with respect rather then disrespecting them full time, or running around trying to copbait. Cops and DOC workers are not here to entertain you, they are here to play a character, just like you, difference is they are not criminals, they have different mentality, I would reccommend if anyone thinks either of these jobs are easy, apply and come find out. Assuming you have a clean admin record of course... because thats a requirment.
  22. I can see both sides of this, yes there isn't much happening in the prison, it was the original focus of the DOC to create RP for criminals inside, but at the same time, criminals need to be creating rp for the DOC workers and for other criminals, as I have said in multiple other posts. Government faction workers are not here to entertain you, we are all here playing a game, some like the gta online mentality others don't, I personally would much rather have a traffic stop, chat to someone get some rp, then move on, I have minimal desire to drive to a drug lab and get into a shoot out all the time. So, Prison needs rp options, well RP is limited by your imagination, get in there, play dice, go outside rp with each other, find a new boyfriend... all valid options that don't need scripting. Prison guards afking on duty, then report them as you would anyone else. Scripting, yes add some jobs inside the prison that if you complete a task that takes 5 mins of active moving and collecting objects dropping them off, then it knocks 10minutes off your sentence allowing you to essentially cut your jail time into 1/3 of the sentenced time, should you actually want to do the work and rp with people. Create "cigarettes" that would be a tradable currency inside the prison, earned by completing tasks. The cigarettes would be able to be traded between players as if its cash. The cigarettes could be traded to prison guards ( a blue triangle at the convection shop) for time served 1 cig = 1min... completing a task that if focused takes 10mins yields 30 cigs. For those that link to gamble setup one of the tables to allow gambling of cigs (jtime) where players can gamble their earned cigarettes in hopes of winning more. But if you find prison boring, then create RP inside it. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from RPing with each other, your gang affiliations etc.... hell I don't know DOC policies but im sure you can have visitors under supervision. RP is limited by a players imagination, I personally have spent 3 hours rping with 5 people, and not one of us used a script or /anim during it, and we all had a blast. Use this as a chance to write a story, sit your character down, write a note to your long lost dead spouse... or your daughter... anything is possible, it is only yourself to blame if you cant find something to RP in prison. I have never afk'd a jail sentence, and well I was jailed before DOC was even a thing.

    New houses

there are plenty of 2 car and 1 car houses for sale, just need to find them icly and speak to the owner, you'd be surprised how many their are. I personally have 1 2 car for sale and 1 3 car for sale, I just don't advertise as im not in a hurry.... so youll have to find em icly.
  24. Members of the government factions can apply as anyone for a gun permit to carry a personal firearm, Bayciew and LSC employees are more then invited to apply for a permit and then can carry them depending on their company policies. As to gangs importing guns, as everyone else has said this sounds more like an ic issue, gangs screwing gangs... sounds like good rp if you care to do it. I am certain there are plenty of ways to acquire a gun. As my criminal has recently acquired 2 SMGs strictly though rp. No killing, no robbing, and zero bullets fired. As for the claim that this is not realistic, I would like to point out the number of criminals in los santos vs the number for law abiding citizens..... excluding government employees (cops, medics, prison guards) you have mechanics and taxi drivers.... and the odd truck driver, where are your civilians who don't do crime? if you want to get into realism might I suggest you do an analysis comparing Los Santos to Los Vegas crime rates.... you would find that if we based it on realism there would be 2 cops for every one criminal based on the number of murders that happen in both our city and the real life one we are based off of. Realism.... isn't getting guns for nothing, and not everyone should or deserves to have access to them. As to removing serial numbers from legally obtained weapons, I see no issue with that, but also would like to remind everyone that every single firearm that is sold in real life (at least here) has been discharged and the bullet catalogued for ballistic evidence for future use... meaning yes, remove the serial number, but the bullet you left in buddies body is tagged to a gun, that gun was bought at X store, by Y player.... meaning cops are coming knocking on Y players door looking for the gun that was bought at X store, and if he cant account for it player Y is going to jail. So let them scratch off the serial numbers but add ballistic evidence for bullets that can be retrieved via testing and rp.
  25. As I said I personally don't have an issue with it if the faction cars that are abandoned or lost remain for an allotted amount of time. Or if they go un occupied for say 30mins if not assigned to a unit they de-spawn. So to counter this and offer some thoughts on how to keep this balanced as we are referring to realism in a form/fashion, these are things that I think would be justified if a this was to be implicated. *Fueling them at a gas station, or driving through a speed camera would notify police as to its last seen location, as if an officer died in an incident that cruiser would be actively being tracked by pd. *If it was stolen and the officer not killed it would also be being tracked. As in RL, emergency vehicles are constantly broadcasting their location to a dispatcher, who monitors the location of the vehicle full time. and the tracking devices are wired into the ignition and electronics system meaning without it the car cant run/start/move. So if they were to implicate this sort of tracking even when an officer code-0 (crashes) to allow a dispatcher to track said cruisers of all units. Then this would allow for far greater rp situations with PD, and also be realistic for criminals as stealing a cop car, is extremely high risk, and ballsy to say the least. (( https://www.gpspolice.com/ found this, it isn't exactly what they use, but businesses use this to monitor their drivers locations)) *Stealing a cop car in RL, would give you maybe 10mins of joy before the entire police force would be on you like white on rice. *I would also ask how is a player to know the officer hasn't code zero'd as 99% of officers will never leave their cruiser abandoned in a public place for long enough duration to have it stolen unless its unlocked, they also don't leave the keys in the car as they are tethered to their duty belts, so I'm a bit curious how criminals manage to steal cars in general in 10seconds flat. (fastest video I can find is 3minutes). *As we don't receive notifications when a failed lock pick attempt is made, which dispatchers would be notified of instantly, and the live dashcam footage and cab-cam footage streamed to the dispatcher computers would allow for immediate identification of the suspect. So if the cars are to be lock picked it should be sent to the dispatcher and then into the police database by them as a call requiring attention. As I said, I think having cop cars stolen would be beneficial, but with increased ramifications as J-Time currently is not near big enough for players who mass murder 40 people, or execute cops for the sake of "he was arresting my buddy". Stealing a cop car after killing an officer would result in the death penalty in the states that have it, others would serve life in jail, instead you get 2hours. (I am on both sides of this as I have a criminal also. I just don't get caught and don't run around like terminator.) Lets get increased criminal rp when being arrested or interacting with police, so it becomes more enjoyable for both sides. In summary, great Idea, but lets get some other aspects of the idea that need considered as faction cars despawning isn't very real, neither is cop cars not being able to be tracked, or dispatchers knowing when being lockpicked/hotwired. And dead cop cars, would never be left on a scene, as in this city of los santos the police department based on the crime rate here would be assume a city of 2million people, there would be 500k cops based on the crime rates... and if you get into the statistics you would find that it would likely be almost 1 cop to 1 civilian in Los Santos.
