  1. I see what your suggestion is but at the same time while PD and SD may have larger factions in general in population it is important to realize that often times we out numbered when in a situation. Sometimes as much as 5-1. Again hitting the same point, we are also responsible to respond to other incidents as well, not just the shootouts. It is important to realize that there is IC regulations about priority of calls and incidents thus units are often already busy. But if a shooting starts and has a cop at risk, it makes sense that a ton of officers would approach to try and help.
  2. 1. I can confirm their are regulations in place for the LSPD pertaining to the deployment of all our weapons. That being said previous interactions and arrests of a person may result in escalated responses due to previous experiences with said person. This is certaining something that should be IC not on a suggestion thread. 2. I disagree, have you ever witnessed or been tazed, I would assume not, generally the tazer is designed to force the muscles to spasm to the point of exhaustion, and until removed the prongs remain in the person and can be used for I believe up to 3 shocks before a battery replacement in the tazer. The prongs in themselves are painful as they are hooked similarly to a fishing hook and hook the flesh. 3. Pitting of a vehicle, there are circumstances where I have prohibited it from occurring, until certain criteria are met (risk of ambush, or person puts lives at risk outside of their own). I would like to point out that often times we see other players ramming and doing obsurd actions with their cars, example being a issi sport off roading up mount chillad, similarly as I do not paint all other players with a brush so I would expect other players to not paint our faction with a brush either. Approach the matter IC as officers are often written up for misconduct. 4. For reference we have a difficult time keeping up with about 30% of vehicles on the server, there are some drivers like myself that are above average and can take a car that is less of a performer and keep up with a better car. There are others that drive the best car we have and have issues keeping up, allow me to make a case and point for you, a couple days ago a warrener escaped custody and a helicopter. Clearly this isn't because he is fast, or agile, but rather was smart. You will find in cities in RL that have an abundance of criminals utilizing high power supercars that police respond by getting faster and better cars also, and that is the case in our city (LS). I would suggest if you would like to experience the other side of the RP to compare it, that you apply for a ride along (likely on an alt) and go out on patrol with some officers during peak times, and also during the slower times.
  3. I'm not sure how the coding and all that would work... but I would be open to that... issue is it would need to be limited to a specfic impound as it would make no sense for me as PD to turn on an NPC at the Paletto impound.
  4. PD has enough pursuits to follow, and pursuits and shoot outs are not what I would consider RP situations, as it ends up PD rps with them selves for the bulk of the situation. I am not an advovate for ACTION RP, I would much rather patrol around and hand out a speeding ticket or talk to civilians at highend. Hostage situations are one of the most dreaded RP situations cops find themselves in because the opposing side offers nothing in exchange for everything. Meaning you drive away we get a hostage that is generally involved in the crime and is getting paid later. It has been a dogs day since i have been active on my criminal, but I have served a 12hour sentence where I didn't have enough time to watch a movie because I was generating rp, rather then relying on other players to create it for me. I had created a prison gang, where we were hustling other inmates for a % of their stamps they earned. We had guards that we would negotiate with for favors, in exchange for favors. TBH it was a good RP experience, mind you this relays on others wanting to RP and not afk for it to work. Yes i have and frequently do.
  5. As mentioned above, PD has policies in place to assist folks with setting up races and events. No one takes advantage of it, thus no one gets legal races. We use to close down parts of the city for a few hours every weekend for a couple different groups a while back.
  6. The issue I have with this concept is currently both PD and SD rely on tow services to assist us with impounding vehicles. Similarly to utilizing the coroners, (which has been seen to be a gang member that had just been involved is showing up to collect bodies. Now if tow trucks operated the same, the gang could potentially get into a massive incident and then come when PD calls to scoop up cars that are suppose to be going to impound, and just drop them off at their gang HQ... this is one concern.... The second is something that has been abused in the past by players when they steal a towtruck, they will go to an NCZ (Police station or hospital) and tow the car out of that area, and then lockpick them. I have had this happen to myself a fair few times from both the Police Station on Mission Row as well as various other NCZ areas, even whilst i'm engaged in rp.
  7. So the impound is a point of contention for both pd and the players... it is a low rp exchange that can be a hassle for both sides. I am an advocate for a script or npc, but there needs to be certain conditions put in place surrounding the releases. Currently PD runs a check on your license (must be valid) they also check outstanding tickets and warrants... so should an NPC be the way this goes, it would need to be able to check this, as well as notify PD should someone with a suspended license or tickets/warrants try and get a car out.
  8. I would be open to the idea of a command that would become usable should all conditions be made. TBH PD loses a ton of cars everyday... we are in all honesty at a success rate of 50% in pursuits if not less.. It is all about having a plan, and a route!
  9. From a PD stand point allow me to address your points directly for you so you perhaps understand that while you see one side it we see another, and your attitude towards insulting an entire faction and over 100 members of the community most having been here long before you came, and most that will be here after you have decided to leave. 1. PD wait times. So you have been arrested and want your stuff back, like you the members of the LSPD have responsibilities to do, this includes standard patrols, arrests, pursuits, store checks, community checks etc... among this list is Impound and Asset retrieval. Now the priority for these activities in question (impound, asset retrieval) are considerably lower then pursuits, gang violence, store robberies and 911 calls. Impound and asset retrievals are consider a couple of the lowest priority calls for the department as 99% of our calls are considered emergency calls, requiring immediate attention when a unit becomes available. With record calls during prime time, upwards of 10 active at any given time, it is difficult to send an officer 10minutes across the city, to pull out a radio and a bf400... to only re impound it 2 hours later... that and even worse, when we go to release a car, find that the driver has outstanding tickets, warrants, or no license, or funds to get the car out (all of which need to be in correct positions to get the car out). Now, with that said the LSPD has in the past discussed having the impound automated and if memory serves we were in support of the idea... barring conditions were met, (valid drivers license, no tickets, no charges, sufficient funds) which hasn't been to my knowledge code able at this time. The next option that was considered was the give mechanics the ability to release cars, but this was quickly ruled out when discussed due to the system being abused. Your comments pertaining to RP at the impound, I would like to ask what RP are you offering at the impound and during your arrests to call other players RP as mediocre, I have released hundreds of cars and have a large set of rp i do to get them out... and the response i get is /license ... and then the player runs off even when prompted for RP. RP is the responsibility of all players, even cops get tired of people ignoring, rushing or forcing RP. We desire enjoyable RP experiences as much or more then most, thus all our internal events, activities and other various activities. I can assure you that alot of PD members are some of the heaviest rp'rs in the community. I hope you get the opportunity to rp with some of them. Everyone has different levels, but RP is something that can easily be escalated by one player showing a higher level of rp, and making it more enjoyable for all involved. As how to speed up these interactions, perhaps ensure everything is ready in preparation for your car release, I am not sure if you have ever had your car at an impound lot before but it can take upwards of 6 hours to have it released even after you have paid the fees. The impound is not something that we enjoy dealing with but are required to, in order to ensure your vehicles are not chopped, or thrown in the ocean. As for impound fees, these are not paid to the LSPD, nor are Fines paid to the department, we have no authority over these and they were set by the founders many, many months ago. There are penalties for committing crimes, using your car, comes with repercussions. Perhaps look at alternative methods of escape, to avoid the impound all together. 2. Mechanics, as you stated yourself there are only a handful of them around at any given time, thus expecting 1 of the 3 mechanics on duty to come out to the middle of no where because you were driving 220kph down route 68 and smashed into a bus, is not practical. The mechanics have their businesses to look after, with customers often lines of customers parked in front of them waiting for service, and paying them to do it. They also stand less risk of getting robbed, killed or their trucks stolen if they dont venture out... not to mention arriving to find no one there, and just a car parked in the middle of no where. What do you expect them to do with the car, tow it to their yard and hope someone shows up someday to pay for the tow, and the repair? Everything you have suggested can be dealt with yes, but removing the opportunities for rp is never the answer, this is a HUGELY successful rp community with some of the oldest RP'rs in the GTA RP community participating in daily activities and interactions. Focus on making rp enjoyable for others around you, and you will find folks more receptive and willing to go out of their way to assist you. I can assure you, someone that offers me RP, and good thought out RP that makes sense gets a pile more of my time then. /me no resistance..... /me no resistance.... /me stands up.
  10. The problem we face is limitations to script, and relying on players honesty in rp. Some scenes do get indepth investigations that are lengthy and last weeks, issue is generally the player will be prisoned, killed... and thus placing charges on them for a murder a month ago is impossible and 100% fought. Something we at the LSPD are trying to do is increase in depth long game rp, but it needs to be reciprocated by the community to be effective.
  11. My issue is that so many people are using one of their gang members un affiliated alt as the hostage, or grabbing a new player and throwing them into the mix as their hostage. Its bad when you can watch a streamer whilst you play something else and all you hear is "I wanna be the hostage this time... Jimmy you did it last time" ... or "lets go grab a new person from the air port, give em 2k and rob a bank" This is no escalation to these, its unfortunate and I wish there was more that criminals could do to get large heists that have good rp, and a good chance of escape. I can say that looking at the bank robberies I respond to nightly there is about a 25% chance the vault is cleared out, 30% chance at a small snatch and run. and a 15% of actually finding someone in the act of robbing it (various stages) and the remainder is people cycling the timer of the bank.
  12. sounds like an ic issue to approach by speaking with them... that being said i m sure you'd be upset if a mechanic wasn't there to fix your car and was out towing cars too. double edged sword! be a part of the solution!! join the LSC team
  13. I would pursue this IC, as there are a couple groups that already do this, and do it well.
  14. This provides something different to do, and could allow wagers by both participants and spectators.... and could also host tournaments for clubs and groups.
  15. Should criminals not Fear for their own lives when being chased by police, when they are being pitted, or officers issue demands of lethal force? It is a double edged sword, and at what point does it end, in order for this to work it needs to go both ways, I have seen folks ram cop cars with bikes using desync to send it flying, I have seen supercars ram into trucks, etc. It is a double sided argument, presenting a suggestion pushing for PD/SD to improve, but nothing stating concerns for non PD/SD factions.
  16. tased state make them elder animation and drunk hud.... so that running afterwards would cause them to not do it well... or quickly.
  17. @Andy Mason Come join PD then, see how it all works, because I can assure you that you will find its alot harder to get a shotgun here and a "Lambo" then you think.... To gain access to even a shotgun requires you to complete no less then 3 months in the faction, as well as complete a exam and practical test. Secondly to gain the "Lambo" takes a member roughly 6mths to a year to get to that point. Gain access to the advanced weapons requires you to join the Special operations bureau, which you are then forced to attend 8 trainings a month no less then 2hours each, failure to do so will result in you losing said permissions. It is a shame folks speak so about factions that have little to no insight surrounding, ask some of your friends who have alts in PD and you will find that there is a lot MORE to it then you can imagine. Just to pass the academy and the basic training takes you over a month. Every month we review roughly 100 applications of that, 30 make it to interview, of that 30, 20 become cadets, of that 20, 18 make it to an actual officer.... then after that about 1 will make it to a sergeant or detective.... and of every year of recruiting and training 2 will make it to a position in the Command team. Thus if you think there are issues with the way PD operates, come join the faction, see what it takes to be a member.
  18. There is no advantage to it if anything its acutaly a hinderance as your forced to push extra buttons. This is a service that is monitored by server staff and approved by the founders and Head Admins but has policies and rules surrounding its use. @PuzzlingAs was outline we tried the multiple in game radio frequencies but they were un reliable and caused a lot of issues when switching as frequently as was required in a situation as often times we have 3 situations going on at once. I personally have 5 radio binds already setup that I frequently bounce between thus I don't think more then that are supported. @FrankiePAs was already outlined by previous posts, whilst TS is an older service it is reliable, effect and has a lot more privileges control as well as auditing logs, it also offers better support for when 40+ folks are required in one channel. Discord doesn't offer quick channel changes without Auto Hotkeys which is something the bulk of us refuse to use due to the potential to reduce roleplay opportunities ... The alt tabbing would and is a hinderance for channel changes. Currently TS is operating perfectly and as intended, it has a metric shit ton of permission regulations that are vastly utilized by all departments. As previously mentioned it is also supervised and frequently check in on by Server Staff, to ensure guidelines and regulations surrounding its use are being enforced and maintained.
  19. Perhaps its an actual job that someone can get... but would require certain RP to establish and maintain.... Gotta get those medical supplies somewhere.
  20. @Xypint Phasing out TS was something we tried a couple times in the past but it failed to work reliably and also prevented smooth communications, This forced confusion and resulted in it be tossed out due to the fact it wasn't working as intended and or reliablily

    this is not fair

@Machete Who was your pd character? as you seem to have formed some opinions and bias that appears to be from a bad standpoint. Based on what you said about character traits and "slang" that is all stuff you were welcome to develop within the PD faction but chose to rather not develop we do not force members to develop "slangs" as a department our job and roleplay is to be law enforcement, should you have not chosen to participate in the internal RP, discussion and character development that occurs every second a PD member is on duty was your decision. It would be nice to know who your character was so i can look into its history and see if you progressed in the department where avenues open up, especially considering you seem to slander factions you don't agree with frequently.
  22. Back when I frequented my criminal more, we had taken days and built our own makeshift hospital. We then got bls training, and would rp with each other in a house we had turned into our hospital... we would then complete... TERRIBLE, but effective enough surgeries and shit, with ramifications (infections and so on). (we would make admin report when we got there and request permission to do it of course) and because of our history and rp we had used to set it up we would get permission and they would revive the player. We would spend a couple hours rping there doing these surgeries... using whatever we had!... spoon and the propane stove to cauterize the wound. etc... I would 100% support players trying to gain permissions even a "black market" hosptial, shady transport for injuried etc... I would like to see it more of an RP based thing, rather then a scripted thing. One point I will say, is that i think you'd find pd less likely to camp MD after/during a shoot out then if this was put in place... Right now, you guys load up, we know your going to the hospitals.. (or some instances dump the body in a bush) so we can head to the hospitals and stop you there... If there is a logger for it, we can follow up later with it through investigations and offer RP and a bit more fun rather then "hands up your under arrest".
  23. A player dropped revive at MD should not be instant, and folks with gun shot injuries names and injuries would be logged for police to follow up on. Doctors wouldn't just pull bullets from a man, and turn him lose, cops would be involved. I am not suggesting that every time someone comes in to get treatment that PD gets a call or anything, but perhaps in instances where there are huge gang fights and PD are involved, PD has the option to turn on a medical tracker or something... as RL anyone that comes in with gunshot wounds around or within a day of a mass shooting would be questioned and detained. It happens a-lot that folks grab their buddies, load em into a truck and take off to md, give em back their guns and return to the incident. PD has become more strict concerning this with internal policies, but it can still happen. Ultimately 2 suggestions in 1. 1. When down'd player is dropped at the revive location, it takes 60seconds to be revived. Doesn't make a pile of sense its instant, prevents abuse and instantly getting back to the fight. Obviously while in the "reviving state" you cant be killed and you don't lose health. I would even go as far as suggesting a player after revive at the body drop comes out in a state of injurie, with a red bar of health, and the limp... thus requiring them to be more careful as recent injuries may flair up. 2. Currently there is no tracker of those that get treated outside of ambulances... and when an ambulance is involved with a pd scene we know who all's being taken to hospital, 10-15 or 10-16... but when joe doe grabs jane doe and loads her in his truck (no first aid) and speeds off to the hospital, bolts inside tosses the body in the drop point... its like they were never there, and all the rp from them being injured is now gone. No way for detectives to investigate it, track down the shooters. Thus a method to turn on a notice or a log for MD... so a detective or MD personnel can go in, release information surrounding folks injured between x and y time. Heck we have CCTV in stores, perhaps MD could get one also that we can look back into. Just a thought and i realize I am looking at it from my side of the coin... would like others thoughts also.
  24. Good day, Speaking on PD side, Our progression is alot slower then SD, Cadet is 2 weeks, PO I is 3, PO II is 3, and then it gets really long with some of our senior po3s sitting at almost a year in rank... That being said the leaders of PD have all agreed that we in the top tier are here more for the RP and after as much time as each of us (our junior High Command player) is 2.5years in PD. Money isn't a driving factor for us, we dont use it, to the point most of us give it away to new players to start them out. If your joining a faction for money, then I don't know what to tell you, I have seen criminals put even the richest cop to shame when comparing assets plus liquid funds so, it is balanced out when a singular criminal with a massive record... still has more liquid and assets then someone who has 3 years into PD averaging 40hours a week... I don't think any jobs need a buff to be honest, perhaps some balance, but the way that they have it is to mimic a player based economy as best as is possible in this sort of community. Unfortunately GTA V will never support a true player market like Eve Online. But the devs have put a pile of effort into trying to make the wages realistic as supply and demand will fluctuate on items. And if your struggling with buying food there are a few stores around that sell for almost cost. (I know a couple that make 3% profit on an item)
