  1. I do like the suggestion but I worry it's all a bit unbalanced. Some of the jobs require more cooperative efforts relying on other players versus jobs that do not. The end goal is role-playing so the rewards should be pointed towards such rather than just adherence to working so to speak. This would shift all focus to the "non-solo" jobs and not the solo jobs. Fishing/trucker/mining/garbage man/money truck/bus driver/farmer/courier/would all can be considered solo jobs as they really don't really require any interaction with other players to complete. Burgershot/Road worker/coroner are the jobs that are really tough to be able to done without interaction with other players. -Burgershot has the requirement of talking to customers or other employees to complete orders -Road workers are constantly interacting and talking with one another so not responding would be a bit odd. -Coroners generally rely on other players to report bodies to collect. I'm not saying you shouldn't do the solo jobs but we should focus on rewarding player interaction rather than grinding scripted jobs alone.
  2. I understand where you're coming from but playing a crim character that results in going broke from jail, fines, impound fees, and all else is part of the system honestly. As a legal character, my numbers have looked that many times from people stealing then zeroing out or chopping my vehicles that result in 30k+ repair costs. Just the other day I couldn't afford tolls, gas, or food after getting a stolen car back and fixed in Paletto and was forced to run the bus route there a couple of times to get some cash again. It sucks when times are hard but it helps you appreciate things more and plan out things better. The freelance jobs pay well enough to get your feet back on the ground and don't take a ton of time to do.
  3. -1 Should a player play a truly heavy RP character that doesn't have time to grind for money, they'll likely get donations or other hookups from people they meet. If you're trying to circumvent the system by doing high costs stuff without putting time or money in, it'll just cripple the idea in the first place. There always has to be effort vs risks vs reward.
  4. +1 Side note, not sure how big the limit should be as a lot of credits are spent on buying additional garage spaces, thus hurting donation amounts. Maybe also have each parking lot at a separate total number and you can buy an additional amount at each one. In base form, you'd have 3 spots in each parking area currently on the map. Then you'd be able to buy an additional 10 at Legion, 10 at Paletto, or other parkings for example.
  5. +1 I wish I could empty out the diamond penthouse interior entirely. The amount of shenanigans to could be created in the open spaces is almost too good.
  6. +1 I've driven out of the car wash and got dirty almost instantly after leaving.
  7. I'm both +1 and -1 on this. I do feel clothing is pretty expensive but the high cost does pull money out of the economy and helps against inflation in the long run. Perhaps there could be a balance of the two with basic clothing items being cheaper and more unique/fancy clothing being more expensive. Basically a shirt and jeans being $50-100 each but a full fancy suit costing a lot more than currently. Same thing with generic clothes versus designer stuff and jewelry.
  8. +1 for the trucker job having a radio but the trucker job does not have a locked uniform/equipment that spawns with the job, like road crew for example. The job would likely need some sort of set locked outfit/equipment to ensure the job isn't abused to just have a radio while not actively doing to job/on-duty like these rest of the jobs.
  9. +1 While I do enjoy the benefits of donating, there definitely has to be a line that shouldn't be crossed. Specifically renting out credit purchases items for a direct in game profit is practicality buying money with just an extra step.
  10. Perhaps rather than relying on rain, there could be a mobile detailing/washing capability (unless there is and I don't know) other than the static location car wash or repairs. This be some be some sort of item(s) and possibly even a job that could be used to perform car cleaning similar to the car wash that would help prevent getting a car dirty from traveling between the car wash and your desired location.
  11. The following is a list of potential Civilian jobs that could be implemented. The objective add a bit more diversity to the job selection with as little development as possible. Some of these jobs piggyback off of other job scripts pretty closely and could help with increasing player interaction(role-playing). 1. Cleaning Crew: This job would almost mimic the road crew job but instead of dealing with incidents, the cleaning crew would clean up an assortment of locations in the same manner. They would put up wet floor signs first(or other warnings), then clean up all the "mess", and lastly remove the signs. This job would focus on indoor locations such as gas stations, flecca banks, clothing stores, tattoo shops, and any other non-NCZ areas(no job should ever be doable in a NCZ). The difference between cleaning crew and road crew would be that cleaning crew would be geared towards less people with the focus on smaller objective numbers and less wait time between jobs. For example, road crew might be 10 barriers and 10 incident markers with a 9 minute break time. Cleaning crew could be 4 signs and 4 mess markers with a 4 minute break time. Why have two very similar jobs? Road crew is a very popular job but gets over crowded at times or becomes completely empty which makes it tough for a small group or 1 person to perform tasks in any timely or practical financial matter. Cleaning crew would help cut down on overcrowding but also help smaller groups or solo players feel like they're actually getting stuff done. The second focus is that clean crew would be at indoor locations thus putting players in areas for potential random player interaction besidesother peopledoing the job. A conversation could easily strike up while cleaning inside a store that could lead to who knows what possible outcomes. 2. Groundskeeper/Landscaper: The job of the groundskeeper would be similar to farming but instead of planting and then harvesting, it would seeding/mowing grass. This job would use the lawn mower vehicle. Locations for this job could be set up around town to be performed with a mapping system sort of like wood cutting. As for being paid for completing tasks, perhaps the mower could have a "bagging" system tracks the cut grass that is worth a monetary value when the lawn mower is returned or gives some item to be turned in like other jobs. Why another collection/task job? This job would be focused on locations less rural than logging, farming, or mining but would pay less in turn. Less risk, less reward but the locations being in civilized areas thus increasing the chance of random encounters with other players. 3. Parking Booth Operator: This job is a mixed bag for sure. The idea is it would function similar to the toll booth operators but be at parking locations. Obviously this should not be in any NCZ zones as no job should be 100% safe. Why even bother? Honestly this job is simply a toss up. It could be easily implemented, probably the easiest on the list, but I'm not sure on the viability of it since the toll booths are generally unmanned but that could be due to location. It would be a pretty neat experiment. 4. Shrimping: We got fishing but let's go a bit further with a twist, a net but it can only be used from a boat. It would work identical to fishing and provide boat owners something to do. Additionally perhaps some sort of boat rental service (like citybee) could be established or even boating company. The payout for a unit shrimp could be higher due to higher costs to collect since it would be from a boat. Why? Because boats would become more popular and Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it. I'm sure there's numerous other jobs that could be listed but these were the simplest ones I could think of. Thanks for reading and for any feedback.
  12. I believe the big point that needs to be addressed with this subject, along with others, is how people use the guise of "rp" as a way to condone their actions. What I mean by this is that far too commonly are people trying to get away with doing things under the "it's RP" argument without much of a real reason for it. Many rules on this server are in place to avoid this being abused such as rules regarding kos/kidnapping/mutilation/rape but obviously we can't get too crazy with more rules for every little thing. What we should do is develop a "reasoning rule" of a sort. This would basically follow along current non-RP rules but offer more insight into reasoning and justification of actions if inquiried upon. The target of this would be to challenge players to actually have more in character justifications and reasoning for their actions than just OOC motivations of "entertainment". If you decide to play a discriminating or otherwise controversial character, you need to come up with reasonable justifications for it and probably have to post it somewhere on the forums as well. This would cut down on the trolling via "it's RP" while still permitting controversial characters just like how we saw an improvement with criminal factions when moving to official ones.
  13. Without financial restrictions, people quit valuing things. Yes it does suck having to "grind" for money if you want something expensive but without that grind, everyone would have expensive stuff and nobody would work. The economy "grind" actually is one of the better retention methods on the server. It continues to provide goals for players to achieve over time rather than being handed things easily and quickly. Once you obtain more expensive things, you value them far more and are far less likely to abandon them by leaving. It is along the grind that you take breaks to socialize and discuss further ways to make money with other people. This builds friendships and promotes "organization rp"
  14. +1 Not only would this help with accidental tuck-n-rolls but would be useful for police/DOC when transporting suspects/prisoners.

-1 Any car that's been introduced in a limited auction shouldn't be reintroduced in a regular manner. This would nullify any past or future auctions as the auctions themselves are meant to pull chunks of money out of the game(money sink) while rewarding the player who bids the most.
