PD X Burden of Proof | What should be considered IC/OOC
TheCactus replied to Cyrus Raven's topic in Archive
There's no way to metagame IDs anymore and if I have enough evidence, I charge the individual. If I got the charge wrong, I get punished ICly and the individual will be compensated. If commit the same mistake more than once, the punishments will escalate. If I have enough evidence and I charge someone correctly, it means that he didn't even try to outsmart law enforcement. Why should an officer get punished OOCly if he managed to successfully confirm the identity of a suspect (and all this happened because of the lack of effort of said suspect)? Like is it our fault if people wear the same clothes while paying their fines and murdering someone over and over again? Why do legals change clothes and muffle their voices more than gang members/murderers? Incredible. P.S.: I sometimes hang around with people that have similar mindsets. An example can be Ricky Brasco, due to our roots. I see him wearing the same blue shirt and GD pants but he robbed me some days ago and he was not in his car and had a completely different outfit, mask included. ICly I would've been suspicious and I didn't have enough evidence. If you know you're gonna kill, smart up. -
It's like when people were using the elevator Non-RPly, spamming it from a floor to another so police can't catch them.

+1 I seriously don't understand why you gotta pay real money to have benefits on a website that is meant to be fully IC.
-
I would also add that selling assets in an NCZ without the intent of paying tax within minutes should be a breach of the NCZ rule.

I am neutral. Having a more or less complicated plan to scam someone that takes 1 hour or several months is some roleplay that I hardly ever saw on this server but when it happens, I have no words. I investigated scams for months and retrieved millions for the victims when I was dealing with them. The thing is 95% of the people don't use complex plans or tactics. Most of them powergame because the script makes so the car is yours after /transfervehicle is done. With that being said, most scammers are also rulebreakers (I am sorry to say it but at least one server rule was broken in every single investigation: when the ratio is 1.0, it isn't debatable anymore). Being a person that solved scam cases might make you think I am against them but I am not. I would just like the quality of scam roleplay to be higher and not just people abusing /transfervehicle after signing a contract with their name and lastname which would finalize the sale/trade (which again, is powergaming). If the scam you just pulled is braindead and the quality of your roleplay was garbage, you should give the assets back to avoid a poor roleplay punishment.

Simply checking the person's contacts is enough when you rob them somewhere private. Saving the people with nicknames or other kind of name codification would solve the issue.

@Aron Simon/logout multiple times. I had to do it 9 times today until I could hear the music

+1 Static labs should give a little bit more profit. The risk is a lot higher so the reward should also be high.

By what I hear on gang frequencies it's literally "Who is going in? Who has the drill? Who is staying on the roofs? How many are they? Is it clappable?" *Shootouts starts and they lose*
-
Based on your unfounded and than more other, your subjective argumentations, I can't really support what you are saying in any way. All you're doing is saying gangs are "retarded" because they do this and because they do that. You don't explain why it is wrong and how they should ideally behave in a shootout. What you said is so random and vague, it feels like you said nothing at all. Last but not least, the "flaws" you found in gangs shootouts/RP; you did not even try to explain how removing the crosshair would eliminate them. It's like saying "the Titanic hit an iceberg therefore we must design more comfortable beds". That's why what you said is receiving only negative feedback. -1

This fix works for normal speakers too. As soon as the car speakers got introduced, just a few knew how they really worked and most of the people I know were asking IC money for OOC knowledge which is borderline RWT and is also very selfish so now I will try to teach you how to use the car speaker without having to spend two hours or more to figure it out by yourself. You need a youtube link for any content that lasts less than 10 minutes. You have to check the codecs of the song. The number that represents it has to be around 150 or lower: All you have to do is right click on the video and select "Stats for nerds". As you can see, the original version of the song has a number of 398 and it will always be like that if you choose the version posted by the official youtube channel. If you want to find a version with low codecs you have to scroll down and you will eventually find a low codecs version. Sometimes you can even find channels that upload the original version of famous songs with a low codecs. Here you have an example: As you can see, the codecs here is 135 and that means the link will work. Last step is simply get into a car that has a car speaker and write /carurl LINK while you are inside the car. Here's an url that works 100% for you to test: Additional very useful tips: If you tried an url that has a high codecs, your next songs will not work even if the url has a good codecs. To fix that, all you have to do is remove the car speaker by placing it into your inventory and put it back in the vehicle's inventory. If you can't hear the music but you are 100% sure that the url has a low codecs, /logout and log back in until you can hear it. Paste all the url for your favourite songs in a Notepad file so you don't spend around 1 minute for each song and use your RAM on google chrome. Use CTRL+F to find the song if you have many. Here's an example: Enjoy the music and make sure you keep your doors open so everybody can hear it! Here's a link with all the links I looked for: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12d2TkjmoRrfzl7rQPOOLoODz_LdInAFLsyRiLnruM5g/edit?usp=sharing Me and other people will be constantly updating it with better versions of each song and new songs. You can edit the sheet by requesting the permission to do it and being a part of it makes you discover new songs since most people add their favourites to the sheet. If you are just a bypasser, all you gotta do is CTRL+F and search your song.

I kind of agree with most of the above. I see a lot of people just CTRL+D (to go on duty) and pull out an M4 from their cruisers just by doing /pw while I spend around 3 minutes to grab the stuff from the armory, lock it in my cruiser and slide an additional vest under the seat. Now I don't expect you to RP picking up every single mag but if you jumped into the cruiser without a heavy weapon, you don't have it.

Most people don't understand very simple concepts that are like this to make everything "work". Your way of thinking things does not go beyond, so you stop in front of that "something" you define as a problem but it actually is there for a reason. I will now try to explain a couple of those things you identify as "mistakes that need a fix" or problems and I really hope you will understand. Lootable weapons: - First of all, head admins clearly said that weapons from legal official faction members will not be lootable in the future. That is because people (and by people I don't mean Zetas and Triads, but even players that are new to the server) will abuse it, go 4v1 and rob cops for heavies which would drastically motivate unrealistic actions, knowing that going 4v1 on a cop for a carbine is kind of medium risk and high reward. Weapons cap: - Have you ever seen a police department have issues such as "uhm.. we don't have weapons"? You keep missing the point that we don't use weapons to make money and we don't keep them off-duty. We use them to protect citizens from those criminals who have them. More clear rules or clarifications for LEOs: - You might've missed or forgot some of the regulations we have while you were in PD. We deploy Kamachos for Kamachos and PIT-ing an SUV with a cruiser is considered both an IC and OOC breach of regulations. If you feel like what someone did is unrealistic or Non-RP, write up an OOC IA report or forum report. With that being said, let PD RP their regulations and deal with their IC issues and mind your own RP. Faction members cap: - Police will never be outbumbered in a gang vs police fight in real life but it happens on the server because if all the gangs, official and not, go against law enforcement (leaving the bad aim and horrible tactics of most cops aside), criminals will win. We do not recruit every month because we want to be the faction with most members. We do it because a lot of people leave the faction, a lot of people join the server and we gotta compensate. Prison times: - Lower prison times? Yes please. A cap would be useful. Not as low as it was a year ago though. On an end note, I am kind of disappointed about the mentality that the majority of the server has: PD is not meant to be balanced compared to criminals and is not meant to lose more than criminals. This suggestion/discussion pops out every month and I see the same people reply right after experienced members of the community and staff members explain them why things are like this. Now seeing this from an old member of the faction (the person who started the discussion) makes me think that he didn't understand either and probably most of the members we currently have still don't. P.S.: I am seeing some posts (that again, pop up on every discussion that involves PD) about people camping banks, stores, chop shops, etc.. We all have bad apples in our faction and if they do it, it does not mean that everybody does it. If someone's RP is unrealistic or they are breaking rules, I repeat, go ahead and report them either with an OOC IA report or forum report. P.S.S.: DeathRP gets denied because you either ask it as soon as someone approaches, you broke a server rule but we can't be arsed to report or your RP is garbage. Step up your RP and you will receive it. I've seen people with the New Player tag do incredible quality roleplay and I personally asked them if they want DeathRP even if they have been CPR-ed by someone. It is never too late to die, even if you are already in the ambulance.

+1 It doesn't even make sense for you to pay your fines for murdering someone at the very police station and just leave.

+1 I would pay 1k for nametags. Maybe make them like notes so you can't edit but you can unclip it from the bag.

I modified one of my vehicles in three steps: 1st: 4/5 engine, 3/4 transmission, 3/4 brakes, 6/7 Hydraulics, visual mods 2nd: 5/5 engine, 4/4 transmission, 4/4 brakes, 7/7 Hydraulics, 1/2 turbo, visual mods 3rd: 2/2 turbo, visual mods 4th: changed colour and one visual mod Every time I connect to the server only some of the mods are missing. Those are the turbo as a whole and visual mods for the 3rd step. Doing /modview fixes it. Parking the vehicle in an apartment, parking lot, house or impound+release do not. Doing /logout when the vehicle shows properly does not remove the upgrades.

Same thing when doing /ib. You gotta do /ib again to put a mask on which is not a big issue but it's annoying.

Can we have a timer for the laptop when we press Destroy? Nobody wants to throw away 50k by mistake.

You have the right to protest peacefully about it so go ahead.

Teach me how to RP please.

-1 Most safes I encounter, are non-RPly hidden in unrealistic places (admins confirmed their positioning was unrealistic, therefore non-RP) and you had to either spam /accesssafe or "i" around instead of just look around and pay attention to details. Some of them required the player to stay in a certain position or you couldn't even access them. Dealing with a big amount of items on the floor (bags, briefcases and misc items) was hard and you had to pray for your character to pick up the item you wanted. Right now, if there's 5 items around you, all you have to do is point and press E. The current UI makes you be more precise when dealing with items but I don't really like the scroll idea. I'd rather press a key to go down and knowing that the last option is the one I am looking for, I will rapidly press it twice and then "E" instead of using the unprecise mouse wheel, pull the gun out by mistake, put it back and retry. What I am tryna say is the new changes are good but I'd rather spam a key to change how I want to interract with an object and I will still be more precise than using the mouse wheel.

RX 580 4GBs? That could be a real problem in some areas of the city with medium/high population. I re-download GTA V and RageMP every now and then. Makes everything go smoother.
