HobGoblin Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 (edited) I think the altitude of the helicopter should be shown on the UI next to the Speed. This would help people fly at the correct height and not have to keep switching the camera to go to first person. Edited January 18, 2020 by HobGoblin 2 5
Kebab Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 I also thought of this when I was flying, it would be super useful and convenient, not really a necessity but a great feature that could save a little bit of time. +1. 1
Prezeey Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 +1 Just like speed for cars, you should be able to see how high you are in third person
Pazz Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 All for it, it'll be easier to read the height altitude of the helicopter for pilots and it'll help them stick to their supposed altitude, rather than having to look in first person. Drivers don't have to go into first person to check their speedometer either, so it makes sense. 1
Chapman Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 +1 its annoying to have to switch to first person to get your altitude and would add convenience. 1
Nick_Smokerson Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 big +1, as someone who flies alot, it would be a nice feature to have, this way it could also be possible to determine Cruise altitudes for directions, to avoid crashing into eachother head on.
Luxas Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 Never flown a helicopter but its a +1 for me to improve everyone elses RP experience
Mopop Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 Just got into flying and this would help a ton +1
dawpi Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 +1! Having an altitude meter would assist the people with the helicopters, just like us on the ground with the vehicle and the speedometer.
TheBrohman Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 Big +1! I know that you can look at your minimap to get a general view of how high you are, but it is very un-detailed. (The bottom line is the ground, the first line 1000ft, 2nd line 2000ft etc..) You can't really see the difference between 500-800ft, 1500-1800ft, etc. As many others said, this makes sense. I do not think that Helicopter pilots should have the disadvantage of having to check their altitude through 1st person looking.
Nick_Smokerson Posted January 21, 2020 Report Posted January 21, 2020 Again +1, this would be super usefull, it could fit perfectly to the left of the speedometer showing KMH, would be a great addition. ( i usually fly in first person when i cruise, but would be nice for quick reference aswell )
Bala Posted January 22, 2020 Report Posted January 22, 2020 They could copy-pasta the fuel gauge, move it up slightly and use the information from entity.getHeightAboveGround(); which can return the height in meters as the display. 1 1
TheCactus Posted March 2, 2020 Report Posted March 2, 2020 Why is this simple but small addition being ignored? Bump 1
