  1. Not to mention, that if we make a rule that prevents criminals from calling 911 about drug labs, PD/SD will pretty much never be able to raid a drug lab then, as that is the main reason we get to know about drug labs, in my experience. The only other reason we can enter a drug lab is if someone's breaking a law and we try to pull them over / pursue them, and they pull into a drug lab and jump out. So you can see how PD/SD would, with a rule like this, rarely be at a drug lab, meaning it is an illegal job with hardly any risk in regards to police showing up. I am also fairly certain it is stated somewhere that criminals should prevent snitches from calling the cops. However if you are a lone criminal grinding at a drug lab, then chances are you will not have the assets available to prevent snitches from calling. Overall, -1
  2. Big +1! I know that you can look at your minimap to get a general view of how high you are, but it is very un-detailed. (The bottom line is the ground, the first line 1000ft, 2nd line 2000ft etc..) You can't really see the difference between 500-800ft, 1500-1800ft, etc. As many others said, this makes sense. I do not think that Helicopter pilots should have the disadvantage of having to check their altitude through 1st person looking.
  3. Although I see where you are coming from, I do think having it toggle-able is better. Otherwise people would have to /dragout each time they were trying to get a person out of the back of a cruiser. I do not think it is possible to check through script if a door is open or not, unless you check for whenever people open a door on a car and then store that in a database of every vehicle. Even then, I do not think you can really check which door is opened when you open the doors. But of course, I could be completely mistaken on that.
  4. Huge +1 to modifying the /takeguns command. As a lot of the other comments have mentioned, it spends unecessary time OOC to uncuff people, have them drop it, pick it up, cuff them again. Especially in situations were SED/SWAT move in on a target, knowing they are 90% of the time armed, and you want to swiftly disarm them and throw them into a vehicle before their 20 gangmembers shows up and surrounds you. Instead of wasting precious 5-15 seconds (depending on people's typing speeds of commands (/up, /uncuff id, /cuff id)) on OOC things which makes a high chance of an operation going south incredibly fast, we could just /takeguns and be done with it in 5 seconds tops (once again depending on your typing speed). Yes, in those SED/SWAT situations we could use /takeguns or /takeillegal to speed up that process but currently that would result in us not getting to RP any attachements, how many bullets, serial numbers etc.
  5. I know exactly how you feel! Whenever I am on my main and meet someone he hasn’t met before, there is a 90% chance that they will make a comment about my voice or that my char is a woman / trans. Since this is also something I have dealt with a lot IRL I have learned to just ignore it and move on with my RP, mostly just telling them that I will leave it to them to figure out. I come from mainly text-based RP communities, where noone knows if you are male/female unless you/someone tell them. Which prevents most of these situations I also have a female character just for the fun of it. At the start a lot of the people I RP’ed with / RP’ed with those people, would call my char a tranny etc IC and even at times use /do to state that my char really was a dude, one way or another. This eventually stopped when I simply told them «Stop with the bullshit and mixing.» At the end of the day, I think that you just have to not care about it, or make a stand against those that do it, knowing that you OOC are the opposite Once you manage to not care about it, a whole world of fun RP will open itself to you, something I noticed in the criminal gang my female char was in. People there didn’t make any comments IC about it and OOC we all could have a good laugh about it.
  6. What? No? The assistant sheriffs are the ones that are the third highest rank in the entire department. There is literally 3 people in the department right now that can use their personal vehicles for patrolling. That is Sheriff Osborn, Undersheriff Wallace and Assistant Sheriff Jurrick. I do not get where you are getting "anyone to choose the personal vehicle over their patrol vehicle" from.
  7. In the Sheriff's Department's Rank Authority it is stated under Assistant Sheriff that they can use a personal vehicle for patrolling within reason. Meaning that that is the lowest rank you can be to do that.
  8. Ride or Die. Jeniffer grips hard on the steering wheel. One more straight, then a right turn, then reverse Chumash. She nods a little to herself. The next part of her escape is clear. She looks into the rearview mirror. She counts a few Zeta bikes and a car or two, one of the vehicles possibly Triads. She returns her gaze forwards. She breaks lightly as she takes the turn. She sees the Wanted Reup passing in her sideview. Jeniffer smirks to herself. On these turns she can lose the car and just have to deal with the bikes. She looks into her rearview mirror again. They are all still on her as they have passed the Reup and coming to the first turn. Jen returns her gaze forwards, widening her eyes and gasping. A pink vehicle is coming at full speed towards her. She slams on the breaks and tries to steer away, but it is too late. She hits the vehicle almost head on and she feels her own vehicle going into the air and spinning several times. The vehicle hits the hill-side next to the road and she screams due to the impact, an electric pain spreading up her leg. The car rolls down from the hill and back onto the road, landing on the wheels. She groans as she hazily fumbles with her radio and scrambles the frequency. She hears the vehicles that were following her comes to a halt next to her. She fumbles with the doorhandle and steps out, most of the people and vehicles there a blur, her ears ringing. She hears the clicking of weapons and commands given to her. "Hands up!" "Down on your knees!" She groans lightly as she drops down on her knees, putting her hands up in the air. She blinks a few times to try to clear her head and eyes. One of the Zetas positions themselves in front of her, probably trying to see who it is. He then walks away slowly, talking on his radio. "It's Jeniffer, Co-" the rest fades away as he gets further away. Someone shouts at her "Unlock your car." She stumbles to her feet and walks over to the car and unlocks it, before stepping to the side and falling down on her knees again, hands up. Jeniffer feels someone grabbing her hair and cutting it with a knife. She remains silent, waiting to see wether or not they are going to kill her. Her gaze drops to the floor as she watches her red hair fall to the ground around her. She raises her gaze again, waiting. Her head is getting cool, due to the lack of hair. She feels hands starting to frisk her person. She moves her body a little and slightly to give them easier access to whatever pockets they are searching. She watches as one of the Zetas takes off in her Elegy, most likely to chop it. She grits her teeth slightly. The Elegy was a gift to her from a Zeta over a month ago. The car is her most prized possession. She returns her gaze to the Zeta in front of her as a few more Zetas leave. The man in front of her speaks on his radio again. "She's on her knees here." and laughs. Jeniffer is told to remain on her knees. "Cole wants to talk so." Jen feels her heart sink in her chest. This was the one thing she hoped wouldn't happen. Her on the ground and her boyfriend there, standing opposite of her. Seconds passes by. Each fleeting second feels like an eternity. A car pulls up and Cole steps out of it and removes his mask, a micro SMG in his hand. He laughs a little before he walks over and stands in front of her. "When you leaving Wanted, nigga? Imma skip to the point, when you leaving Wanted?" Jen grits her teeth a little, looking up at him, her heart skipping a beat. She is used to him being this way when they are with other people. This confident yet silly figure is one of the many things she loves about him. She sighs. Despite being scared of what might happen due to the other Zetas being there, she puts on her best confident impression. "I don't know, when am I?" Cole looks down at her. "Don't know. When are you? When are you leaving Wanted?" Jeniffer looks at him, her gaze studying his. "What would be in it for me to leave the Wanted?" He narrows his gaze. "Not getting fucking clapped and your head shaved. Nigga you're standing here bald as shit. Look at you." Jen frowns a little. "Sorry, do you think that I care about my hair?" He raises his hand and slaps her bald head. She grunts as her gaze drops to the ground for a brief second as he and the other Zetas laughs. "You stand here bald as shit, you really gonna say 'you thi-' alright, you know what? Fuck that I'm outta here." He gets back into the car he came in leaves along with the rest of the Zetas. She sits on her knees for a few seconds, her hands dropping to her sides. She takes a deep breath, her gaze locked on the direction Cole and the Zetas went. Jeniffer pushes herself up on her feet, groaning slightly from pain after the crash. Sirens is heard in the distance. Two ambulances passes. She starts walking towards the Reup. She rubs the top of her bald head, where Cole had slapped her. She takes another deep breath as she lowers her hand again and keeps walking, taking up her phone and texting some friends and allies, asking for a pickup. One of them responds and says he is on his way. Jeniffer puts her phone away as she continues her walk of shame towards the Reup. Her phone vibrates, and she takes it up. A text from Cole. She reads it as she walks. "You may aswell leave, you aren't gonna gain anything being there. This will keep happening and I can't do shit about it besides watch." She sighs, thinking. Their gangs are at war. But for her it is not just orange versus blue and red. The people she shares colors with has grown to be her family. She found them at a time where she was having issues adjusting, and they welcomed her in with open arms as one of them. A part of their family. She swiftly texts Cole back. "Look, this is about more than just sides in a war for me, babe." She hits send and continues walking towards the Reup, halfway there. Jeniffer thinks about her family more. The orange goons she holds very dear in her heart. The people she has done countless races with. Robbed stores with. Beaten people up for. Killed for. Escaped cops with. She shakes her head a little. No. She was not going to throw all of that away for - she swiftly steps to the side. A purple contender comes flying at full speed towards her. She gasps lightly, turning around and watching it continue on it's way further along Route68. Jeniffer reaches the ramp up to the Reup as she receives another text from Cole. "I mean, not really sides, more so I'm trying to look out for you." She smiles faintly. It warms her heart knowing that despite being in different families in a war, he still cares and is trying to lookout for her and protect her in the ways that he can without incriminating himself within the Zetas. She replies to him, deleting parts several times before finally hitting send. "I know. But this is about a lot more for me. I am not going to leave my family because of being hunted and robbed all the time." She stops in her tracks as she sighs, yet another text message tickling in. "Have fun then." She grits her teeth. Was that it? Was he going to give up on them despite their many talks about a situation like this? She puts her phone away, looking at her right arm and the tattoo on it. "Ride or Die." Jeniffer raises her head, her hands turning into fists as she continues her walk towards the Reup, head held high. The Wanted. A family that took her in. A family that has protected her, helped her, cheered for her. Laughed with her. A family she will die for. Ride or Die. She walks further into the Reup, her gaze turning cold. Her walk nolonger one of shame, but one of determination and confidence. If they want a war, she will respond to the call for arms. An orange vehicle comes up to her. It's Ghost. She hasn't seen him in a long time. He looks at her. "Dafuq? Hello?" She stops and looks at him. "Hi." Ghost looks at her bald hair. "Did you get cancer?" She smirks. "Oh yeah, definitely." "Did you have a run in with the Zetas?" Jeniffer nods. "Yeah, for the third time today." He studies her and looks around for her car. "Uh-huh. Why are you walking?" She sighs lightly. "I'm waiting for a friend that is going to pick me up, then I am going to help him out with something." He nods a little as he responds. "Ah okay." She looks at him. "When did you get into town?" He bobs his head a little. "Ahh, I've been here for a while, I just don't really radio. I've been fishing and shit." Jeniffer nods a little. They talk a little bit before Jeniffer's ride shows up and she jumps onto the bike and head back into the city. Three words constantly going through her head. Ride or Die.
  9. This isn't really adding more transport possibilites. The Buses are still there. They are still driving around. But noone uses them. As I said; for the few days I have been playing and using driving a bus, I have had 2 passengers, one of them didn't even manage to get on the bus because of some sort of bug. As for the DCC part, it does work, and this won't replace them at all. Most of the time when I need a taxi there is 4-5 of them online, and I still have to wait everywhere from a second to 5 minutes. Not complaining, just saying that yes, there is obviously a lot of people on the server for the amount of taxi-drivers etc. This entire suggestion is to make the Bus-driver job more attractive for new people and those a bit shy, and to make it a bit more professional for those that want to drive bus, but not just double-tap Y and drive as fast as you can to the different spots, and repeat, without no interaction with another RP'er.
  10. Greetings fellow people of the Eclipse RP community! Currently my RP character is a bus driver because you know. New to town and all. And I quite enjoy it, driving around the city, occasionally (2 times in a few days) picking up passengers. However, the Bus Company has very little RP to it and it is kinda just there for new players to earn some money on. I was thinking that maybe it is time we make it a bit more professional and more RP-inducing for newer players that might be a bit afraid of approaching other people? And before I continue; no I am not trying to change it. It will still stay as one of the jobs new players can just jump into and drive around and earn some money on. (Edit: Perhaps there is two bus companies located in the same place for convinience? The NPC owned one for those that just wants to drive and so on, and the other which is 'owned'/owned by the daily manager that is for the more 'hardcore' bus-drivers?) What I had in mind is that the company is owned by an NPC, due to the fact that it is a new-player job. But I was thinking, hey why not have someone RP the Daily Manager of the company? For example, the truckers have their own dedicated radio in the form of /cb which they can use to talk with other truckers. Why not implement this for the bus-company as well? I am not saying that a seperate command is needed for them. For those that want to join the more professional approach to the Bus Company can buy a radio (Or perhaps the Daily Manager can fund the drivers with this?) Then there can be radio communication for when you sign on, when you start a specific route, when you end the route, when you sign off. Or if something happens etc. For example like. "Someone just crashed into me. I will have to stop the route for a bit so I can get this sorted". There could be a forum thread/section for the company, like the other factions, where a rulebook can be posted, etiquettes, radio codes, different routes (including the standard bus job routes, but also with routes made by the daily manager). I think this can be a good thing for the bus-driver job as it will attract newer players but also add more RP to it. People can check the forums and be like "Hey, what routes goes here?" I don't expect anyone to take on this job though to set this all up. I don't mind setting this all up, if the community is interested in seeing this spring to life. Like, if you as a new player just want to drive bus and not interact with other people, good for you! Just go to the HQ, press Y twice and off you go to earn money. And perhaps the daily manager can hang bit around the HQ, and talk to those that come over there for the easy job, and say like "Hey! Are you interested in becoming a bus-driver as a full-time job?" or something, and if they want to, send them over to the forum to read through stuff, and apply. The Daily Manager then goes through the list and accepts people. Obviously, this part of the company would be very low level and most people will get accepted, but then the DM can check like "Do they have a criminal record? Do they have a driver's license?" etc. So, what do you guys think? I will go to bed now, but will read through and answer any questions etc. when I wake up.
