This was probably previously suggested but I hope a hotwire system is on the developers implementation list. Breaking a window is far easier then fiddling with the lock but the reason this is a thing is the time compensation achieved you would usually spend on hotwiring a car, bypassing the e-lock and so on. A more complex system would include connecting wires via a GUI made specifically for vehicle theft or obtaining an import device (for official gangs) that would carry some realistic pros and cons with the ability to steal vehicles much faster, quietly and cleanly. As of right now there are no issues with the current way things are but being able to start the engine of a car you just lockpicked with no keys is stupid.

+1, along with designated areas in apartments and houses where people can refill their bottles the developers should introduce a way to refill bottles from sinks bought in the furniture store making them accessible in nearly every custom interior

Being a career criminal is not for everyone, let alone a marked gang member. If you feel as if can actively wear gang colors and affiliate yourself with people that live to kill, sell and make drugs and participate in other illegal activities and act is if you are innocent once you serve your prison sentence is blasphemy. Detectives exist for a reason, it is the same reason you get caught lacking and arrested, there is nothing unreasonable about that. Do yourself a favor and change your car color and get some normal, plain clothes and rock that for 7 days and see what happens. You can not call yourself a gangster if you wear a body-camera. Before the thread turns into another PD rant I believe that body cameras should be available at convenience stores and/or get introduced under a new type of electronic store business where you can buy burner phones, chargers, laptops to further expand roleplay opportunities and make sense overall.

The issue to begin with is the way gangs are portrayed, period. Every single gang/illegal faction on the server sets to establish dominance at any cost, either alone or with the help of someone in a similar position. The reason criminal organizations and gangs exist is to increase profit for everyone within them, not to constantly fight and expose themselves, risk assets and law enforcement involvement. But people get to the point where they have 'enough money' so the only thing left is to have fun, and the fun in this case are large scale fights, joint frequencies, alliances which essentially lead to your second point, toxicity. Gangs are not supposed to be democratic and give everyone a fair chance, you want to make money and establish power? That comes at a cost. I do not have to point out the amount of threads that have been posted over the last 6 months regarding the state of criminal roleplay, this has to stop, I understand, you want to get it off your chest, but this is not the way. Faction management has to be more engaging with their work because when people get imports and whatever they set out to get they go ballistic. As bias as I may sound to all the criminals out there, cops and admins are not the issue, you are. Is this what criminals really do in real life? Drive around in 5 million dollar sports cars over mountains and clap one another because they have nothing else to do, the answer is no by the way. All the fighting, losing and winning on both sides disallows the two parties to even speak to each other and resolve basic issues because the game is taken too seriously on an OOC level, resorting to forum complaints to get people banned. It is very simple, a bad tree has grown, you can cut the branches down but they will grow out again, out of that same tree, the same bad root. Look at the cause, not the outcome itself.

Basic Script support is a MUST to foster good roleplay
kris giggs replied to Cyrus Raven's topic in Archive
Very good suggestion. As simple as it may seem it most definitely would foster good roleplay as mentioned in the title. The introduction of more player owned businesses would be beneficial for everyone, it being a restaurant or a packaging company used as a legal front to launder money it would most definitely foster good roleplay. The economy is in a bad place as of right now, the staff team pushed out a few raffles to flush some money out but not to an extent the economy would be balanced out. Coming back to the roleplay side of thing I always imagined and hoped a money laundering system would come to life where criminals could choose to launder their money before depositing it or risk authorities getting them in the act. Deposits weighing from $100,000 to $1,000,000 would catch the eye of the government, where is this money coming from and can law enforcement act on that? Tax evasion is a big thing in the US and the IRS holds no prisoners, if a similar system would be implemented where the government or a division within the LSPD (DVSD for example) could investigate such occurrences people would be forced to opt out to roleplay with business owners to launder their money. A money laundering system that is not centralized would be a massive step in the right direction to expand criminal roleplay and allow more interaction between players, law enforcement, criminal or civilian. A stock market system similar to the one in GTAO would be very nice as well and could be used as a passive money flush, stocks can rise or fall and you can gain or lose money based on your ownership of them, pretty simple, no explanation is necessary. Player ran organizations, sports leagues or institutions is a way to expand civilian roleplay and not make it bland. GTA has implemented Formula 1 race cars, why not implement a player ran league where people can apply and participate in it to win money? Introduce a skydiving association, player ran as well, players fly, players skydive. Introduce real estate agencies, player ran. The possibilities are limitless, most of these could be achievable through Player Faction applications and threads but people seem to lack the motivation to do so, and would rather opt out for a gang or law enforcement. -
Surely, it must be false considering the fact imports had to be cut off by faction management to prevent a made up story. I didn't know speaking facts is toxic. Roleplay has never been limited on Eclipse, the only roleplay that has been limited over time is the one that promotes poor interactions and rightfully so. If the only roleplay you have on this server is robbing people, cooking drugs and buying guns maybe you should start reinventing yourself or opt out for another genre of games. I am not sorry if my arguments and factual statements are hurting your feelings and do not match your opinion, because they are not intended to, they are not for the faint-hearted. You wanted to speak issues, I am giving you them, but in regular fashion you write them off and say I provide nothing useful. Great suggestions are being forwarded on your thread but you would rather argue with me, that is on you, not me.
-
Is the staff team as well as the whole server willing to adopt another doctrine because 'some players' feel that their stance on things is not taken into account? You further prove my point with your following statement; I will go ahead and stop here, you take your time to read this ^ and try to figure out the issue, assuming that you are not part of it.

The continuation of these threads is evident, and 90% of them preach a rule change as well as a looser approach to robberies, the reintroduction of labs and so on. If we're objective for just a minute you would most definitely notice that the rules, server changes and faction management are not the issue, yet the players themselves. Let's be real, gang roleplay isn't gang roleplay anymore, it's just a few screenshots for your thread and the rest is cooking, robbing and shooting (correct me if I'm wrong here). Nothing original came up for a while now, people make gangs for the sole purpose of allying a bigger gang and base their existence on that which is ridiculous to me. Now that all of the action is gone people go back to the forums and deface the work faction management does, blame the poor ruling and include law enforcement as the issue as well in hopes 'crim rp' makes a breakthrough and you can finally rob someone in the middle of the street once again, please. Let's all start by bettering ourselves first before going out and blaming everyone else for your poorly planned actions.

The suggestion is very aesthetically pleasing and would definitely find use on the server. It is highly unlikely that a few lines of code would mess with the backbone or hardcode of the server, very clean and simple suggestion. Hopefully the devs can experiment with this system and create something more complex that could find extensive use on the server. +1

Re-introducing the ability to talk over radio while injured
kris giggs replied to MrSix's topic in Archive
I believe the function was removed to improve and promote better quality roleplay, being able to use your phone and not radio is a valid argument, yes, the system has inconsistencies but removing the ability to use your radio is a relative gray area, what if my phone died and my only resort is to use my radio to save my life? As previously mentioned people usually shout and give callouts over the radio while gravely injured which to me has a counter-effect, you are most likely to get shot and 'finished' for using it rather than not, if you really value your life you are going to focus on getting help, not telling a group of people about the whereabouts of your enemies rather than your location and seeking medical attention. +/- maybe we can reintroduce the usage of the radio while injured with some guidelines in place, for the better or worse. -
Remaining true As time flies by, alliances are formed, friendships are hardened and respect is earned, yet the everlasting hatred and division between the underground and law enforcement remains the same. There is no line, there are no rules of engagement, the sweaty favela of crime and money is ravaged by the government as the criminal underground resumes to exceed expectations, set new grounds and show their teeth, resilience and wisdom. Law enforcement having an unbeatable budget, new ways to fight are sought after as they slowly but surely encroach whatever they set their eyes on. A common enemy shared among rivals they remain as the main antagonist of any criminal. Expectations Kris, during his time with his long lost family he has gotten a chance to get a head start, a step ahead the danger in blue. Continually finding ways to outsmart law enforcement which they add onto he is forced to find new ways to provide for himself and those around him. Drug dens and portable labs are a common way for the above average criminal to further his craft, expand his area of operations. Recent changes requiring an influx of drug sales to satisfy the needs of merchants, mechanics and off shore pharmacists Kris is expected to provide, to earn himself favors. Time remains unbeaten, the everlasting struggle for power is at large and reaching a peak, what faith has in store for him, he can only wonder.

In light of recent development a team is formed assigned to preform a specific task, a chain of them. A new directive is set and the goal was made very clear, extortion. Law enforcement started noticing a rise in missing vehicles, chained robberies and bank hits, this is due to the demands of the few holding the criminal underground, manipulating power, status, and most important of all, shipments. Illegal contraband and drugs are the alma mater of the underground, without that a criminal organization can not flourish under poor conditions given by them. A cold war, an arms race is in progress and this selective group of people have been on the radar of many for the past few weeks. The people pulling the strings remain unknown, this is just the beginning.

extremely well thought out, the amount of detail is astounding to say the least, i hope the developers see this +1
