  1. We go there when we are able to. Mechanics can't release vehicles as it's under police jurisdiction. I try to go there as much as possible but like Alex said, often times there is other more important things that require our attention. I don't however feel like we should be making money off the unimpounding because we're already paid very well and also, it might send the wrong message that we're impounding to profit. We're impounded because of parking offences and/or other crimes and it's a method of catching people.

Oh you think it has no negative impact for you? As a faction, you are only as good as your enemies and you don't have any. If someone does pick a fight with the 60 person faction, they have to contend with the other two factions backing them up as well. In every instance there, there is zero possibility to win. If there is no possibility of winning, why would you try? Why would Zetas care? Because it's your server too? Complacency = Boredom eventually. There is going to come a point where people get tired of robbing fishermen and farmers. I don't know the ins and outs of the faction history but it's my understanding that you guys allied because of Vice? Vice been gone and it's not coming back. It's gone because of this exact scenario, you fall out with one faction and the other two are with it constantly. I look at this new Marcello family and it's like, how long before you guys are squeezing them with your allies. What honestly is the problem with Zetas standing by themselves now? Like IC story aside, let me ask you what you would lose from doing that?

Something maybe you need to realise that being friends with your only real competition has a negative impact for everyone else and whether you realise it or not, your own factions.

The OP is spot on, it's probably the hand-holding between the allied factions that caused Vice to close in the first place. Since then, the illegal faction scene has lost it's edge. Call me old fashioned but isn't the whole point of being in a faction, that it's you and your faction members against it all? To make YOUR faction richer. To make YOUR faction more powerful. To make YOUR faction the most reputable. If you are all living out of each others pockets, the fuck is the point?
  5. My suggestion would be that people be responsible for the crimes they commit in the server. If you are getting more than 2-3 tickets, you just don't give a shit about the laws of the road and you'll get what's coming to you regarding the fines and potentially jail. I feel more sympathy for new players or people that get the odd ticket, but I feel no sympathy for repeat offenders who either speed as a way of trying to fight the system or just because they don't care if they get tickets. The tickets are only for such a small part of the city as well. If players are starting to rack up tickets and won't pay them, we need to start being able to seize property to pay off their fines.
  6. I'd venture a guess that they standard of roleplay in the PD is higher than the standard amongst criminals. Anyone can be a criminal but for example, cops have to go through quite a long process learning the ropes before they are even allowed to patrol alone. There are of course exceptions but nearly always, the police are acting correctly and appropriately. We do not arrest people with reasonable doubt on their innocence. Our job isn't to ruin people's game, it's to present a challenge to the criminals. Frankly, without us, there would be very little conflict in the server. Lawyer Roleplay is a good idea in theory but in reality, it would be a horror show. You can request a lawyer in game if you are being questioned but if you have been caught red-headed, you don't get a lawyer. That's just a practical sacrifice that the server makes. If you wanted to do Lawyer Roleplay, prison times would have to be increased (no more 2hr max), it's likely that the violent crimes would deny people bail until their court date so you'd be locked up regardless and you'd only be released if your innocence was proven. Does that sound fun to you? There is more impact and room for abuse/malpractice doing that than the process we have now, let me tell you.
  7. This. The quiz isn't that hard. You just have to pay attention to the rules and think about what you are putting. Same applies to playing in the server.
  8. Also have to consider third party players entering the situation and then having to be told it's paused and have them agree to it as well. Think we should just keep it simple and as is, tbh.
  9. The sync is very bad when it comes to boats. I'm sure they'd do stuff like this when it improves though.
  10. -1 - It's Grand Theft Auto, not ArmA.
  11. If /low was a radius of say 5, make whisper like 1/2. I don't know how the distance units work in the code, but if someone is right next to you or in your immediate vicinity, they get what was said to. Don't think you need to still make it player specific like it is now, unless you were to do like a /duoanim type deal where someone has to accept the whisper to get that private whisper.
  12. Perhaps instead of multiple messages being sent, you get one message with the amount of speeding fines you've recieved. You still get the message but your CPU doesn't overheat as well?
  13. Hey @aNickinSkywalker - Good to see another former vG alumni
  14. I can see where you are coming from, since there is a lot of robberies but I'd prefer PD to handle this as an IC issue to be honest, perhaps with an increased presence there. No Crime Zones to me should only be areas that have enough security that committing a crime would realistically get you caught or killed very quickly. You get robbed at the pier because it's secluded and out of the way, same goes with Paul's farm. I've regularly fished down there and been robbed a few times. Yes, you are easy prey but you have to let your guard down sometimes.
  15. Just seems a little strange to me that of all the names you could pick, it's a name that someone else has used before, Avon. But still, hey ho.
  16. Why do you use other peoples names?

    Vehicle windows

Perhaps a command to check the windows of the nearest car too.
  18. Thought that Logan Stone on the server was familiar haha.

    Salary & Labor

I think you at least have to give it a couple weeks to see how it goes first before deciding whether to stick or twist with it. I joined the server a week ago and don't have as much money as a lot of you. So, not having immediate access to my pay as a member of the LSPD is a slight inconvenience but then considering that I'll be spending nearly all my time online, on-duty as a cop and that my weapons, health and vehicle are all covered by the department, the need for instant payout isn't that bad. Plus, from my understanding this is rewarding people for being active which is good both for the faction and the server population. I'd suggest just wait patiently and see how it goes, i'm sure if it turns out to be shit and everyone hates it, they will find another way.
  20. You want these kinds of features to add to the role-play and immersion, but not take away from it. I think this is a good idea, but with certain conditions. You could satisfy the requirement by either eating or drinking. I'm not completely sure how time is worked out in the server, but I think expecting to eat something every 24 IC hours is reasonable and realistic. You can go a little crazy and start setting different values for different foods and stuff but ultimately, I just think this breaks down as one of those things that you just need to "tick that box" every day and you are good.
  21. Think maybe for a lot of them, they just outgrew role-play. Plus, it's another game and the mod still seems in it's infancy so maybe it's just not captured their interest much. Plus, vG killed any hope of a GTA V server with their stalled plans as well.

    AFK Script

Doesn't even need to be a button, can just include a random value in the message you are in danger of being kicked for AFK. If they don't enter it in time, they get kicked. If they enter it incorrectly three times, they get kicked. Doesn't have to be Pythagora's theorem either. Could just be a random number between 10 and 99 for example.
  23. Hello everyone, I'm Dizzy Bala, formerly of Valhalla Gaming (the $A:MP Roleplay Community) and since i've been in Eclipse for a week as of writing this and haven't hated it, I decided it was probably best to introduce myself. I know that some ex-vG guys are playing here such as Darnell Stacks, Miky Reefer and Jason Reed but I look forward to meeting all of you and seeing what this community has to offer. I'm Dezzy Bala in-game if anyone wants to hurl some abuse at me and hurt my feelings.
  24. Hello, you'll have to be gentle with me as I'm new to the community so I apologise if this has been suggested before but.. My suggestion in a nutshell is to have some way of test driving a vehicle before purchasing it. Why? Ultimately, I feel that the look of a vehicle will important is only superficial. The most important parts about buying a vehicle is knowing how it handles, what the top speed is, what the acceleration is like etc.. because ultimately, you are usually buying a vehicle to use it and especially early on, every $ you make is very precious. You can list these things in a spreadsheet or on the forum, but they really have to be experienced so you know how the vehicle will suit your driving capabilities and needs. How? I'm not familiar with the scripting on Rage MP so I don't know exactly what is possible and what is not but the way I see it, there are two main ways you could achieve this. You could implement an option at the dealerships to test drive that vehicle and the vehicle (or it's equivilent) would be spawned inside the testing area and you'd have say 180 seconds (3 minutes) with the vehicle to drive around and try it out. You'd be able to cancel it at any time and it would respawn you back at the dealership. At the end of the three minutes it teleports you back to the dealership. You could simply just go to the testing area and it would give you a list of vehicles that you could try out for yourself. Possibly you could spawn a vehicle to test by providing its name as an alternative. But the same thing applies as #1. Hell if you wanted to make it in-character, you could even make the test driving a business and put an additional cost there if you wanted to. Try before you buy is pretty critical when you are spending $$$ on a vehicle. I'll be honest, it's been that long since I played GTA V normally, that I don't know hardly anything about any of these vehicles and I imagine there are quite a number of people like me that want to buy a vehicle but simply don't know enough about them to bite the bullet.
