  1. If we agree that cooking was very bad for roleplay (no interaction), then I think the focus should be suggestions for a new way to make money, not just asking for unhealthy changes to be reverted.
  2. The fact is that with a ~12 hour cooldown and four banks that means eight bank robberies a day, up to eight two hour long hostage situations per day. Add onto it people regularly checking timers and hitting banks almost on the dot did not help the issue. I for one did not appreciate the amount of bank robberies and wish they were more special than just another check-list grind activity. Alternative ways to get packed money were added with the ATM robbery mechanic which requires very little investment but provides you with packed money. A group of people can easily farm them with almost no risk. On to the point of not being able to sustain three turfs of the same type, maybe that isn't needed. Do you really need all three turfs for roleplay reasons, or do you want them for imports? If you want them for imports, then more grind is more benefits. The damage on weapons could've been more selective, however, in my opinion, the only damage buff that should be rolled back is on the pistols. I think that heavy weapons in general should be more scary and do more damage. Having a heavy weapon should be a huge threat and even the AK sometimes felt tame, especially when everyone had body armor. That's no longer the case. I understand why people might be a bit disheartened when a way to make money was patched, but a lot of the things that were being done were not healthy for the server. I get that currency opens up avenues, but can anyone honestly say that refilling bottles in a mega property with sixty tables from the floor was good RP or provided any RP? Sitting in that same interior for hours or days, with the only requirement being materials that can be stacked in safes on walls? All of the things that were added, the bug fix for the water, the more danger to the tables, no more cooking in apartments, they were all added for interaction, for roleplay. I get that when you're making money interaction is your enemy, but this is a roleplay server and interaction is the basis for roleplay. Being locked away in an apartment for hours is being locked away from roleplay.
  3. Good idea. I think it's a good balance between realism and game balance/enjoyment.
  4. The factions that have access to them have internal policies against clipping or unrealistic clothing options. I feel that if given to the general population we might see a resurgence in questionable outfits/combinations.
  5. I think @Ash summarized it very well. If the intent is to make people have more cash on hand (which I think is healthy for the game), more items should require cash, not just vending machines.

The issue with allowing people to manage RP when it provides them with an advantage is that it can be abused without repercussions. @Destuin said that he sees no issue with "hiding" a .50 cal that he has on him, ready to shoot at any moment, inside a vehicle with roleplay, he says that he will RP grabbing it prior to shooting, however, if he, or an ill-intended player chose to hide his gun in his car every time he gets in just in case cops try to search his person, but then decided to just hop out and shoot if he ever found himself in a shootout, where would be the check or balance on that? We can't expect staff to check the logs of every player, nor can any other player know if his weapon was RPly hidden. This is even more important with stuff like heavy weapons. The general consensus right now is to follow the script, so you can hide heavy weapons in bags or in briefcases, that means that you need to drop the bag or the briefcase and scriptly equip the weapon. This means that you are forced to roleplay the repercussions of having it hidden. It forces you to play fair, and it makes sense from a game balance point of view. You can have the gun ready, but it's visible, or you can have it invisible but not ready. It's a give and a take. I feel that people whom wish to hide their readied weapon want to have their cake and eat it too, and that's not healthy for the server.
  7. I think that it is an interesting point, but making it similar to bank robberies is where you lost me. If you could consider an alternative means of achieving this, preferably with less police presence and more roleplay/planning than the average bank robbery, then I'd support it. Bank robberies are a failed experience, being source of immeasurable tension between law enforcement and criminal factions.
  8. I think we should incentivize open-air cooking more than closed-in cooking. There are very little RP opportunities when locked away in an interior. We definitively should not be further incentivizing hidden interior cooking. -1
  9. I think the question is where should this lie on the line between a game and realism. Realistically, if you've been shot and you're wanted, a cop is gonna look into it, and you're gonna get arrested. Gunshot wounds could take operations, hours, days before you can even walk, someone will get to you before then. However, in the context of a game where you get dropped off onto a magic spot and you are 100% instantly, do we really think it's that unfair that cops might see your name? I don't think so. There are ways to avoid it, a lot of people ask a friend to call MD if they're wanted, or rely on them for self-transport, which is something that completely negates this. If a friend were to bring you into the ER with a gunshot wound, police would be notified, in the game, if you get brought to the hospital, unless the cops are camping it, nothing. No warning, you just get off scot free. That doesn't seem very fair or realistic, but it is how it is. If we're taking the whole system as a whole, I think this is fair. You risk your freedom for easier access to medical services, or you use friendships/allies to carry you more covertly, which is less convenient but more private. The suggestion in the OP seems a bit like wanting to have your cake and eat it too, you don't want to risk arrest but you also want a super convenient way to use medical services when wanted.
  10. This is great, it's very hard to have such a huge list of suggestions packed into one and have no disagreements, but they would all be wonderful.
  11. Where do you draw the line? It was 48 hours for 3 years, then it was lowered to 24. If it gets lowered again, will we be discussing 6 hours afterwards? At this point you might as well argue for its removal because 12 hours is nothing. You go to bed and when you wake up all your repercussions went away.
  12. This is not gonna create interesting roleplay, in my opinion. It will be used more as a nuisance. Can I remind everyone how popping someone's hood was a common form of trolling when the hood system just came out?
  13. It should be against the rules; these rules are made so that civilians and regular players are not hunted excessively by gangs. If you are a gang with an HQ, you should not be hiding in NCZs from other gangs.
  14. I think gun damage could be doubled for all guns other than the .50. It would make shootouts last less and people more afraid of gunfire in general.
  15. The fact that you can both be invaliding the opinions of people in law enforcement factions while ending this post with "there is no reason to try and invalid our opinion" is very concerning. Add onto it the fact that it is "our opinion" vs the "opinion of people that don't have to experience it" and it becomes very very hard for me to believe that this is not PD vs crim.
  16. I don't understand at all why this thread got derailed into crim vs law enforcement, again. Such a change would affect all roleplay on the server. It could be you getting robbed by a gang, or you robbing a gang members. Getting house raided, etc. If you think removing report 3 or 4 will make PD/SD stronger, I think everyone is vastly over-estimating the amount of times PD/SD break rules.

  18. It was my understanding that the whole server is moving in a more realistic direction. The issue is that law enforcement is realistically overpowered. Not a single gang will successfully fight police in a realistic setting. A lot of concessions are made daily for the purposes of the game. I am not a stranger to indulging NonRP for gameplay, however, the tunnels were literally people taking advantage of desync and literally just used for evading (bar the one gang that sat there sometimes). If we're going to talk about the "realistic" suggestions that would bring a huge amount of unrealistic roleplay such as being able to loot law enforcement heavy weapons or sniper rifles, then yeah, I am selective about that, and I hope that you can see why. The tunnel system brought nothing of value and shouldn't come back.
  19. The tunnels were some of the buggiest places in the server. The fact that they were finally closed after years is great for everyone. Bugs aside, how often would people drive on rail tracks in LA? Or see them bring a high performance motorbike in a subway system? Not very often. It's much more realistic this way.
  20. The faction chat is given to groups that have proven themselves after months. They didn't mix IC/OOC for months, and you can avoid doing it too.
  21. It's the exact opposite. Allowing people to hide their weapon without any cons but just pros will result in that becoming the meta. Everyone will hide it because there is no reason not to.
