  1. +1 There are a ton of animations I would like to see. Would likely require a form of.. area ERP permission.. or something though. Even this would have been better than the.. pickbutt animation...
  2. Time management and efficiency is very difficult when gaming, especially on an RP server, you have to set priorities between the two. There are days I get home, most days I don't because I'm already online longer than I wanted to be and have other things I should be tending too, instead of driving / walking home and risking the chance of getting stuck in another RP event that I wouldn't be able to escape. It really comes down to the .. "Do I need to drive home?" While I agree with 'encouraging' players to find a legitimate place to log out, or an area that's not visible. I don't agree it should be forced. Some see the break in logging in/out as only a 'pause' in their RP.

    Archive Please

There's someone out there with a ton of reckless operation charges. A TON.. like.. it should be a felony how many they have... but any additional charges, would still not fall under a reason to trace. Sergeant: "Could you help us find this person?" Detective: "While, we definitely need to find them, they don't fall within protocols to utilize our equipment. Here's the information we do have on the individual though and how we can find them." Again, just because you were found, doesn't mean your phone was traced.
  4. Another addition to my added suggestion/refinement. Could make the illegal medical center an actual scripted job. If you're 'on duty', you get calls to 'clean up'. Could also be used to hide or dispose of bodies. When they pay for the treatment, some of that pay goes to the 'doctor'. /cpr would only be half successful due to poor supplies. /stabilize command could have a 66% failure chance due to not having an ambulance and suit of equipment.

    NCZ Zones

+1/-1 I like the idea of areas in the city you can go and not worry about being messed with, like the Del Perro Pier. Maybe some kind of soft NCZ? Even a few of our current NCZ's could be 'soft' NCZ's. Additionally it would spread out the vehicles people like to park in NCZ's. How you would define a 'soft NCZ' unknown, maybe no violent crimes? /me/do's only?
  7. +1 But it's also been suggested, please use search and revive older topics. This helps show how long it's been a suggestion.
  8. I've heard and read some things about this, Was it not reduced since the original implementation of shipping items? I drove a little during the great drought and it took quite a while to load up on things. +1 I wouldn't mind seeing RL statistical references that could be used to help encourage refinement to the current load times. Shipping is all about time management and efficiency. Anyone truck IRL?
  9. Well.. seriously need to break this down. 90% of the time it's because what the officer is doing, is legitimate or has an IC reason. Officers are trained extensively and must pass training in order for them to become an officer, they are graded even in Roleplay capability. If an officer feels like you are a threat or threat to others or could use additional's or you have a history, they have the right to call for backup, just like you do. An officer doesn't need to tell you why you are being detained. If they give you an answer it could be as non-informative as 'pending further investigation'. Once you are 'arrested' they will tell you the charges you face. Yes, you should always know your charges before your imprisonment papers are filed. Jeez this is a mess... Force continuum exists for a reason, it's all, also IC. A good suspect interaction goes like this and depends on reaction... [ Request > Lawful Order > Taser (incapacitate?) > Gun? (Incapacitate?) ] and all depends on the crime, history and escalation. You are always free to /me /do anytime. Others will likely have /me /do in response though. You have 30 seconds to react which is plenty of time to do a lot. Officer: /me goes to cuff the suspect /do success? Citizen: /do no Officer: /do why? Citizen: /me kicks at the officers shin to run away. /do success? One or the other agrees or both /dice? If you are cuffed, you shouldn't be doing anything which requires hands. If you want to be part of the Justice system, join the police department. Officers are trusted ICly and OOCly bound to be fair and just to not only citizens but players as well. True, there are some activities and interactions that could be better, but that's why IA exists and forum reporting. There isn't a charge for 'insulting an officer'. Yep, speed cameras suck. They don't exist where I live, but they do exist. What sucks more is people driving 160 through a heavily populated area and plowing through 5 cars injuring 8 people because 'they didn't load'. It's actually considered powergaming. Report it on the forums, this isn't only a 'cop' thing. Not going to say this doesn't happen, but I don't think I've really ever seen many in reputable factions (criminal included) not use /me tries something /do success? Still not sure about this 30 second thing you have an issue with. You have 30 seconds to reply, if you can reply sooner, you should, delaying a response, especially when you are capable is stalling RP of which you should not be doing intentionally. ICly it could be taken as resistance. There are plenty of admin punishments to police. I've had a lot of people I would call friends even banned from Eclipse. However it happens less because they are scrutinized on everything and bound to higher morals to even stay in the department. An officer can pull you over for a ton of reasons, not usually reveled and often IC. After that, the officer will need to start having reasons for next stages. Detain you Search you Charge you The officer pulled you over because you had late tickets. Just like real life, your plate was ran and came up with this information. Repeat offenders and BOLOs are also reasons to get pulled over. Mistaken identity does actually happen ICly as well. Sorry if you've seemed to have such a hard time with police. OOCly, play nice, communicate, don't argue and they'll do the same, the RP exists for them as well. ICly, play your character how you'd like, once it's taken OOC, stuff deteriorates quickly. After all this, I don't feel like this is much of a server / development suggestion. @Flucifial, can we move this to general discussion?
  10. I'm.. not really sure what the issue or request is.. but I've also never had a ((new player)) tag. I'll respond though to what may be relevant. You should not make a second account, only create additional characters if you need it. Use the same account for everything. If you make a second account it can be seen as ban evading or evading punishment and admin logs. (I think there's a rule about this.) If you have questions "/report 1 <question>", a respondent will answer anything you have. If you encounter a situation you're not sure to handle. Say something like the following "/o I'm still new and getting the hang of this but want to continue and learn, Please be patient with me.". Most experienced players you can also /pm ## <message> and they'll give you input even after a situation. I believe if you still have a ((new player)) tag or you're within that XP range, you can still consent to the RP and allow it to continue.

-1 That's what radios are for, an untraceable form of communication. You can destroy your phone to remove the number or leave it off. There are plenty that don't use phones at all and always have it off. You can essentially 'create' your own burner phone already. Buy Phone > Make Call > Destroy Phone. A company wouldn't sell you a cheap phone, a phone is still a phone. Acquiring numbers from MDC is only for official use only and should not be saved. Getting and giving out a number from the MDC without permission is a breach of privacy and anyone involved should face consequences, especially officers. Don't need to trace your number to find you, You sport the same colors, drive the same vehicles and wear the same clothing and you make a name for yourself that makes you easy to identify. Thought of some RP reasons it exists how it is. Crime is well known to be rampant in San Andreas. The government and companies apply restrictions to prevent or reduce illicit use for liability reasons. Radio tower repeaters are privately owned, easy to install and unsecured. The state has their own that are secure though for government uses. Cell towers are owned and operated by the government and companies. Mobile companies must register a name when a phone is purchased, registering that information with the government. If you make a 911 call, the operator will not accept your call unless you identify yourself as the owner of that number. I think fake identities would actually be a better first step. Be glad it's only your phone number and license plates that are documented, registry of property and home ownership and addresses should definitely be documented as well and is far more realistic.
  12. I can agree and disagree... faction vehicles are stolen OOCly way more than ICly due to crashing. If there was a way players could 'check previous owner's online status'. Then i would support, however, you'd still have to give that individual the status they were previously before crashing.
  13. You can buy taco's now without cash on hand. Could say one thing, but they could charge another. Wouldn't be a lie in the /do. However.. during the charge and you putting in a pin, you would see how much you're being charged.
  14. +1
  15. -1 Suggested already so much. Other government jobs are already lacking in numbers, don't think we could man another. Judges would require policing experience. Lawyers would have to not be criminals. OOC Corruption rules would need to be in place. You would most likely end up in court longer than just doing jail time. It would better to just have an expungement process, so charges could be removed from your record.
  16. -1 Ramming damage isn't usually enough to stall a vehicle. As @MrSilky stated, internal policies exist already. What's the overall concern though, what instigated this suggestion?
  17. From what I've read, I think everyone understands the suggestion and are offering their support and solutions. Even if you don't escape from prison, or there's a bug that get's you knocked out (like server restarts) a 'incarceration debt' would still allow that time to be served in it's entirety instead of getting off.
  18. +1 on all this ^ . Players should only be able to own only one scripted business and be able to maintain it. If for example a fuel station is dry for three days it's marked as 'abandoned' until completely filled. After three weeks of abandonment, It's auto marked as 'for sale' at a deteriorating rate. You could even analyse and balance profits by store type so there would be a near indistinguishable margin and while there would be a 'preferred' business to own. They would all make the player about the same amount. Actually, that's more complicated then it needs to be and not realistic. Preference and potential profit margins should reflect in the cost of purchasing the business.
  19. Added a relevant idea here...
  20. Huge +1 Prison time should be a 'debt'. Any time you're in prison or jail, or even doing community service, it burns off that debt, if you're not in jail, the debt isn't reduced. This way you would still serve your full time when you are returned. Community Service could also burn off that debt, like donations to the government or having to stay in an area and RP. /cs ## from any Legal Faction member, Any individual with less than 30 min incarceration Debt of 30min requires 60min Community Service. Must stay in the neighborhood and RP, maybe a task given to them. Can use the phone and radio and RP with friends. Would give LEO factions the ability to expand on a probation officer specialist. (the individuals who would probably have RP tasks and areas in mind a person could serve their time.)
  21. While at first I thought this could be a good idea, it got complicated very quickly and seems unnecessary with little gain. If you want to carry an illegal weapon without a serial, source and buy one. -1
  22. Now that dead bodies are a thing now I'm going to +1 this... or at least minimum show a start search /ame if there isn't one. There's one for /frisk ing. Either way, nothing should be done without proper RP. Hmm... They could have broken powergaming rules, mods decision, I would report them so at least we all know how it would be ruled. Let's help promote good roleplay, not contribute to it's degradation.
  23. Good ideas, snacks should fill partially (snacks / donuts) and be the only foods at 24/7 stores. Everything else available at restaurants. Every food should have it's own value and bonus. Restaurants will need to have a scripted vendor though, because you can't depend on players being online to run them all the time. Also, everyone will always get things 'to go' so I'm not sure how much potential there can be.
  24. Could go one way or another. Vehicle rarity should be based on price, not availability. You don't go to a dealership, ask them if they could get you a car and expect they laugh you out, they make it happen, for a price. Classics should be the only rare cars, because they 'don't make them anymore'. Most cars, even supers should be available to purchase freely, but with a high cost attached, could even be multilayered costs. If a car is removed because it's broken scriptly however, it should be fixed, removed from the server entirely or call it a feature.
  25. +1, love the ideas Support Mobile refuel as well.
