  1. Crims complained about jail times, so jail Times have been reduced at least 2 times since I've been on the server. Crims complained about nothing to do when in jail, so jobs to earn stamps were added to DOC so that there's something to do while in DOC. When you're out in the world, 24 hours license suspension which only prevents you from getting a car out of impound, but doesn't prevent you from scriptly driving around. Just IC consequences. I could see if it was affecting your ability to RP like DOC time would, sure, but otherwise just keep driving. You're going to continue doing crim shit, you're going to continue to break laws where you can get a license suspension. What's the difference? This has already been lowered once, lowering it more just completely makes the suspension moot and useless. This is all I'm saying on this.
  2. There wouldn't be RPly only two. You only see two in a pursuit due to IC protocols. Don't mix up protocols for what would be ICly. Same with Heli's.
  3. Just to clear something up, LEO baiting is no longer NRP. They are now seen as IC consequences for IC actions.
  4. -1 No need to lower the vehicle speed cap No, it's broken. Argue the tank size all you want, you can hit 240 with a passenger easily, and on almost all road surfaces. It's busted, and I own one.
  5. If they clock off because there is nothing to do, then decreasing the number of LEO's on duty for ATM robberies isn't the only solution. There are much more criminal activities that can be had outside of just ATM robberies. That is why I find the argument fully invalid. Again, as stated above, there are other criminal activities that can be done that do not have a LEO "On-Duty" requirement. I get that it appears ATM's are your go to for money, but there are still other things you can do that actually would give you more reward and requires no LEO's on duty. Well no, the counterpoint is not valid as to rob an ATM is a script thing, where as LEO's on duty is an IC thing. Server population doesn't correlate to script limitations. From around 02:00am to about 11:00am UTC the server population is low. Not everyone wants to play LEO's. Decrease the amount of LEO's on duty to steal ATM's, and now you just get those 3 - 4 LEO's who still can't do shit about stolen ATM's since they also have other calls to deal with. You state you're in SD, I was in PD for 22 months. You should know the different types of 911 calls that come on. "I was shot", "My car was stolen", "Some guy called me an idiot and hurt my feelings", scripted house robberies, impound calls, training, other faction duties depending on the division you're apart of. Couple all these together and those 3 - 4 units on duty suddenly prioritize what sort of RP they want. PD did a great job with recruitment for a specific timezone, and I applaud them taking that massive initiative in doing so, however for me I just fell off the RP. Past midnight UTC, I used to hate patrolling on PD because people would chain store robberies, and we'd never have sufficient units to patrol or catch up. For ME that's "Zzzzz" RP, as it involves me rolling up to a store, seeing it's empty, looking at CCTV, verifying it to a BOLO, then closing the call. That's solo-rp and not really that fun. Sure, if it's the same individuals you can start building patterns and such, but as mentioned above, you still have a ton of other duties and responsibilities to do. Not every individual in PD/SD are just Patrol Units. They have other obligations and responsibilities. Finally touching on the "IRL if there are no cops on duty..." claim, this isn't real life. This is a game, there's a give and take with aligning what we want for realism in the server and working with a video game. Yes, we like to be as realistic as possible, but there are cuts that have to be made.
  6. No one is saying you can't commit crime. Just need to alter the crime you want to commit. Not going to entertain this argument of "hire more people for early hours" argument. That's an IC issue, not an OOC one, and not fully relevant to the conversation at hand.
  7. It isn't a bug, and it's from the modview speaker, not the actual speaker that you buy in stores. You can thank GTAO for this feature.
  8. +1 this would be great!
  9. With the latest development update, this has been implemented.
  10. This isn't minecraft! +1 however, this would be great
  11. It's not about realism but about working with the current limitations of the system? Speakers are too inconsistent per the reasons I outlined, those coming into proximity. Currently the speakers are still inconsistent with queuing up songs, DJ's don't just have YouTube links that play from one song to the next. They generally have the songs on their PC and use that to transition. You're thinking too much on relying on YouTube to do this, compared to those playing from their PC, which is what they do here.
  12. When you DJ, you have song transitions. That's lost while you "queue" up another song. Couple the issue along with that songs may not always play for anyone entering the area, it's just more reliable for this style of RP to be consistent, which in this case is VOIP.
  13. I think I ran into this guy. He was throwing a CityBee off the highway into the Ambulance Bay at MD.
  14. - 1 To allow for LEO to be able to roleplay back, otherwise it's just free money with little to no contesting.
  15. This isn't a thing that needs to be suggested as a server rule but could be considered for reworking the cuff mechanic. There doesn't need to be any OOC protocols to inform the player that they are to be cuffed, that's why there's a script minigame there to resist. I've seen plenty resist and be successful with it.
  16. -1 to start off this with So, being in both PD and MD, here's the thing. Tasers interactivity of pacemakers have been investigated in regard to damage to the device, disruption of the arrythmia, and excess discharge of the device causing it to malfunction. With tasers emitting a high voltage at 5 seconds, it was found through a study, that it actually doesn't have a huge effect on the patient's pacemaker, and thus possibly stopping their heart, causing the device to over discharge, or cease functioning entirely. Additionally, if your character has a pacemaker, wouldn't they want to keep themself in a position to NOT be tased? Meaning wanting to comply with LEO demands of surrender. Based on the necessity of LEO not tasing a patient, you'd want to keep the wellbeing of your characters life in check. Now if there was unwarranted tasing, then sure, IA is valid, but if you continue to resist means of surrender for detainment, then in my own opinion, that'd be on you for not caring for your characters life. Here's my take from PD side: Additionally, how is LEO supposed to know a suspect has a pacemaker? How is PD expected to react when a suspect claims they have a pacemaker? Stop and verify with MD? How is PD supposed to react when a suspect is just being overly difficult and uncooperative? Unfortunately, there's a balance of realism and game mechanics, and how people can OOC react to the events and just ignore it. If you were tased, you would be incapacitated, but you wouldn't get up and keep running. Here, per server rules, you don't have to RP the effects of a taser and can end up being tased over and over again. From MD's side: There's no prescription for a pacemaker. You aren't "prescribed" a pacemaker. One is placed under the skin of the patient near the heart, with two wires coming from the device, and into the heart's upper chambers, delivering small electrical discharges to keep the heart in rhythm. A prescription is something that you can take to a pharmacist, or an optometrist to have medication, medical equipment, or glasses/contacts. A pacemaker does not fall under a "prescription", and thus wouldn't be available for LEO's to see and verify the validity of the individuals claims. This would require history, knowledge, and communication from MD and MD personal who have access to AMU's patient records. Additionally, you do NOT need to just experience a "heart attack" to have a pacemaker installed. In some instances, a person experiencing a heart attack may require a pacemaker, but that is not a definitive case for it. There are other heart conditions that would require a need for a pacemaker installed. Next thing you know, everyone on the server needs a pacemaker, and no one can be tased. 17. It switches when you're out of the vehicle as well. Not just when you're in and get out of a vehicle
  18. Adding this from Discord
  19. Does that still do this now, that /logout forces you to reconnect via F1?
  20. Is this happening after you guys were using /logout to change characters?
  21. This should be resolved now with updates pushed on 21/AUG/2024
  22. Law Enforcement's Air Support Division is all regulated through internal policy, and their current use has not been over the top during the times I play. However, it is also not uncommon to see helicopters in the city the game is based off of. That said, this is more of an IC policy than it is a server based rule suggestion.
  23. I think this has more to do if there are no DOC on duty. If you log off and all the doors are shut, and log back in, you're stuck in the cell until one come on duty, or you're released. +1 this idea to help crims out to be able to be little gremlins and make their money so we can chase you all outside of DOC
  24. Moved this topic to OOC
  25. It was to automate the toll booths per the OP, but the title does show adding 2 more
