  1. Well the thing is that the laws set by the gov factions is through IC decisions. The only times they are really OOC motivated is when there are script changes, or new things added to the server, like when license times were no longer in days but hours, or when archeology was introduced. Crim or not, you're a civilian of the state, so like, its not unrealistic for a crim wanting to see change of laws... within reason (I don't think gov would want to abolish murder)
  2. Loss isn't always measured in assets. While yes, LEO's would suffer no monetary loss, there are other losses they would suffer from. Inability to assist while having to find reasons to ignore radio calls for help, inability to continue assistance with investigations due to being NLR'd from an on-going situation. If you have a priority in real life, then what does it matter if you spend up to 3 hours in jail? Your prison times are reduced 1 hour every 12 hours you're off-line, up to the last hour of your sentence which you must serve in-game. However, even then, there's your "1 hours maximum jail time", and yet by your own words, you'd choose to spend the time staring at a jail wall pretending it's hardcore RP. To me it sounds as if you're not trying or looking to initiate RP, but instead getting back to grinding for assets. Sorry but further reducing jail time is not going to resolve the issue. Where it sits now is great, but development is on the horizon for more to do at DOC.
  3. This isn't really something governed by Server rules, but I would suggest pursuing potential changes via IC means such as speaking with SAAA of gov
  4. Do this and you'll get an NRP punishment. This is NRP behavior. Do not do this. Actions have consequences. Jail time has been lowered a lot already! Where it's at now is fine, but there is plans to add more to do at DOC, and to adjust the experience there. This already exists in the ECRP Discord for Server Events.
  5. I cannot justify the removal of Bennys/BayView as a faction at all. There are way too many players who enjoy mechanic RP, and while I understand you may have viewed some individuals who "stand around", I know there are a lot of players who enjoy this. We even had factions who were RP only mechanics. The removal of them, and in place, adding scripts to reset your vehicle to full health, spawning/despawning under specific conditions, etc, all of these I feel add no value to the server. Along with the suggestion to remove mechanics, I disagree with the removing of DOC as a faction. I know many players who love being a DOC Guard. They thrive in the chaos that it brings. While it currently doesn't have a lot in regards to roleplay opportunities, I am hopeful that this is adjusted in the future with development updates. I also do not agree with lowering prison/jail times, as they've been lowered at least 2 or 3 times since I've joined the server. Anything less than just trivializes consequences to actions. I will support the auto-returning of assets stored in your locker, and anything not returned can be means to seeking out whom hasn't stored it. Everything else unfortunately just doesn't make sense, and kills way too much unique RP that many players on our server enjoy doing day in and day out.
  6. To start with, the ideas that Risk has presented is 100% on board with my views as well as a member of LSEMS. Day to day, I hear more cars driving through the drop off from a trunk than we're getting for 911 calls. Now this may just be a recovering effect of lower faction members at the end of last year up to the start of this year, but any means to justify needing to rely on a faction dedicated purely to medical treatment would be appreciated. This here I will disagree with. Start introducing a mechanic to a faction that's full system is based on neutrality, and you're giving players a reason to attack, rob or kill Medics solely for their assets. Now, should a Medic be running their mouth and warrants being attacked or robbed is one thing, but purely for the gains of an ALS kit isn't the route to go in my opinion. In my opinion, by making an ALS kit an asset that's lootable isn't generating Player to Player RP, but PvP RP instead. While I'm not against conflict, as no faction should ever feel immune to conflict, I am against generating conflict on the basis of only obtaining assets. Interactions are fine to be generated, but those are generated through necessity of the faction duty, and shouldn't be due to what is in the players inventory. I understand you're saying this might not be the correct way to implement this, and while I would be open to other alternatives, I just think the means of promoting attacking of a neutral faction, meaning there's no other reason to attack them, for asset gains isn't the route to go. Personally, I am fine with the functionality as is.
  7. GREAT SCOTT! This idea is great! You can almost say it's heavy.
  8. This back and forth insulting of other players will stop now. If you cannot remain on topic, your posts will be removed, and points issued. If this continues, the thread will be locked. Do not insult other players, even if you feel a comment is aimed at you as an insult. Ignore it, and move on.
  9. Players are entitled to file a refund request following a situation being voided from a rule break conclusion. There is currently no minimum value to which one can be filed. If the player who they were roleplaying with didn't break a rule causing a loss of assets, then they wouldn't be without their weapons, or money. So I don't see how removing or restricting the assets lost would be beneficial at all for anyone.

  11. It's not difficult to purchase vehicles. There are a ton of crims who've put in the hard work to get where they are. There's no instant gratification on this server. I also have no idea what the "old XP system" has to do with this conversation. The criminal activity XP system makes the rewards better, but the passive XP you gain has no relevancy. IC actions have IC consequences. You don't want those, then the crim life isn't for you. Crims are a "High Risk" for a "High Reward" side of ways to play on the server. You're gunna get beat from time to time. It sucks, but many of us have been there, many of us have gotten away, its the nature of the game. You're basically asking for no repercussions following your jail sentence after this was JUST dropped down further. Again, as has been said, nothing is stopping you from continuing to drive. Go steal a car, you're a crim anyway, just keep doing crim stuff. It's roleplay. I'm ignoring all the "you staff" comments about real life, when you guys call for people RPing repercussions. 75%? No, that just completely negates the consequences. 50% I feel would be fair. That's 6 hours down to 3 for spending $500 and 10-15 minutes to re-take the test. Also, your math is wrong. 2 hours of jail, you have 10 hours of license suspension would leave you with 8 hours remaining on your suspension. 75% would bring this down to 2 hours. Basically can just do your 2 hours, log off for 2 hours to eat dinner, spend time with family and friends, and then hop back on and be fine. There should be further repercussions to your actions. If you've been playing since 2017, then you know for a fact that consequences for your criminal actions are WAY relaxed now.
  12. Fun fact, you can still drive with a suspended license. You're just subject to a longer suspension IF you get caught. This has already been brought down from 48 hours to 24 hours, to now variable depending on the charge. It's a pretty nice compromise compared to what it was before. If you can't handle the IC repercussions of your IC actions to commit IC crimes, perhaps take some time to try a legal character! The results of them "RP their crimes" is a license suspension following jail time. In real life you'd serve a sentence depending on the charge AND your license would be gone permanently depending on the charge. Some charges require you to wait years, and then have to go through the DMV taking the test, doing courses and such. However, to play devil's advocate, how about something where when you are released, you head to the DMV, have to spend the money for the DMV test, and you need to re-do it again. Only catch is, if you speed, you fail immediately. Deviate off the markers at all, fail. Complete the DMV, and you get a one time 50% reduction for your current suspension level (to negate people spamming it to take 12 hours down to 30 minutes).
  13. Support Staff Team Update GodBear has resigned from the Support Staff Team
  14. If a rule was broken, regardless whether they want their assets back or not, they are within their rights to do well to the server by reporting it, and having it investigated. If accepted and the situation voided, the player who suffered loss from it, are welcome to request a refund. There's nothing wrong with this process. FM does currently observe, monitor and discuss reports with factions as necessary. This is nothing new. I don't feel there's such a thing as "over-reporting". There is a thing of petty reports, which are handled by the Report Management team, and goes through a process of review. I won't even address the last statement here. Overall this idea is going to cause more headaches than I think it'll resolve. I do want to say that I think that demands are a means of escalation and "shit talking" saying the wrong things over and over again, poking the bear so to speak, should be fair to warrant attacking rights on a player. I mean you can't expect to walk up to someone insult them for 5 minutes straight and walk away unscathed. Now, of course there's using your brain and identifying what is an insult and not a quip or just what they think is "friendly banter" versus what is a full on attack of ones persona/background/lifestyle choice. Apply logic to real life. Would you honestly shoot someone or shoot to kill if someone said your dog looked fat, or that your mom was seen at X? No, that wouldn't make any sense in real life. But you would warrant punching, kicking, stabbing, or shooting someone if they sat there and insulted you with means of aggression for a minute or two. The thing here is that we're an English roleplay server, however we have players from all over the world. Insults mean different things to different people in different regions of the world. I just don't see how this would go well because people would interpret what demands only means DM rights would look like. However, I would be happy to see what others on the Admin Team would think regarding this.
  15. Support Staff Team Update Mikasa has been removed from the Support Staff Team
  16. I can see a ton of reasons for needing a Non-Emergency line Needing your stuff from MRPD/Sandy/Paleto Reporting a dead body (that's not an imminent life-threatening emergency) Requesting a medic or an Officer for questions Yes, requesting a unit to impound (When I was in PD, the requests would get lost between backup calls from both PD/SD/GOV, however note that my experience is from over a year ago) These are just some examples in which if you were to use this with the current 911 would either; get ignored, get forgotten, fall to the lowest priority, get closed without follow up, end up getting you a citation. I will say on my crim there have been times I've been to one of the stations and there's no one there. Waiting around for a unit to come by, and if your a text talker, a lot of time people aren't looking in the top left corner of the screen for someone trying to get their attention. While I can see that there would be people who could/would troll this non-emergency line, that's why a Penal Code exists to resolve that. I'll always +1 this idea.
  17. A counter to this would be, while it does add a bit more complexity, what if say you order a drop, pick it up, you get a timer, say 2 hours. You need to get it to your warehouse, and stash it up. Following this, weapons don't decay, however once pulled out again, the decay script starts. I don't think having safes, even if you have a way to limit them via faction import, would still defeat the purposes of the decay script. With my counter solution, this still causes decay, but allows for higher chances of raids thus LEO RP, can still sell weapons but this is dependent on those with access to said warehouse, and not much else changes. While I understand that weapon decay is kind of a no-no, and being a semi crim myself, I still don't really see an issue with the current implementation. Even with my legals who own weapons, gun maintenance and repair is something that should be done. Perhaps a smaller scale XP system, seeing as we have a lot of XP systems in place for players, in which your chances of the weapon breaking following a repair decreases, and can increase the amount of "HP" of the weapon to be restored.
  18. While I understand that decaying weapons is not the best for people who own a lot of weapons, the thing about it is that the current decaying of weapons actually does offer means of Roleplay; drops. You need a specific gun, you get it imported. The decay reintroduction essentially means that you'll be working on gang relations more and more. However, with that, the decay rate is actually reasonable. Passive decay rate is fine meaning you won't need to clean your guns that often, and use decay semi-aligns with IRL. To be completely fair, stashes need to slim down, as that works in favor from a charges standpoint even. Less stashes, less charges and losses from raids. Less stashes means more roleplay ops with other factions, your own faction in terms of drops. While I like the suggestions of the "lockers" that would in essence act like a fridge for food, I could see this as just basically nullifying the script entirely for the vast majority that are unhappy with this change. Personally, I think that the current implementation is well done. I'd welcome any tweaks to it, but I don't think the route is to remove it.
  19. Actually, LSEMS does have equipment to spawn, and equipment that we use on the daily. For example, many of us have a Pistol .50, we use fire extinguishers, flashlights, bolt cutters, radios. However, as this is more centered around LEO's this would most likely have to affect all GOV factions. To add onto what others have said, unfortunately this would positively promote a more PVP mentality of looking for means to gain DM rights, as the intention most likely being to gain officer loot. Times in which you are not on, dubbed Demon Hours, there are a mass amount of Code 1's that are called in requiring joint efforts from PD and SD, and several of those times, LEO's are getting wiped clean. This would then cause those night players doing their faction duties to end up net negative due to having to either not make hours as they don't want to re-buy equipment, or just lose money due to having to re-buy said equipment. Unfortunately, I just don't seem a world where this could work and balance out correctly.
  20. It's the default php file upload size. This could be changed, but this depends on storage amounts for the server. Would be a dev question for sure. PHP defaults to 2MB, but this can be upped to like 8MB
  21. Support Staff Team Update |Lizzy| has resigned from the support staff team.
  22. Pagers are approved from Legal Faction Management. This is a strawman argument.
  23. This makes zero sense. So you're saying that the AFK math was broken either intentionally or accidentally, and a vast majority of them are actually just AFK players so that seems like the server is full? That's a wild and inaccurate statement. Without you having actual evidence to back that up, I'd urge you not to have that mindset. That said, back to the topic at hand, give it time, it's not that deep.
  24. Not sure what AFK math has to do with this conversation, nor why you're making a statement of "LEOS don't care to screw the criminals." Neither have anything to do with the topic at hand, and hold no relevancy to the topic, so let's move past it. You're acting as if repair kits cost 10k to buy, as if guns decay after a week, which is not the case. It's not that hard to make money, even with the new crim level system. Is it as easy as it was before, no, but it's not like you make pennies on the dollar. Give this time, and like any other update that comes out, people will adapt and overcome, until the next new update is spun to be "anti-crim".
  25. The server isn't losing players. Since I've been on the server, it's been relatively stable in regards to numbers. Seasons, days of the weeks, time of day fluctuate availability, but updates aren't what's causing players to leave in mass. Give the update a shot before we go on about how we should be acting like Dragons hoarding treasures. Your comment about it being peoples choice to gamble or not is not the same as those who choose to have a stash, I disagree. My crim barely has a few guns, and not once have I ever thought "Oh I need 10 .50's, 20 Pistol MK II's, 5 of each AR's, 10 shotguns, and 10 Machine or AP Pistols". Guns are ever revolving in the community, and the biggest loss of a gun is from a shoot-out. Not from getting caught by LEO, but getting caught lacking when rolling or holding labs. This update does nothing to change that outside of your guns decaying at a slow rate. You're acting as if after a week the guns go from 100% - 0, which is not the case.
