  1. When responding, please make sure we are not insulting members of this community, and focusing on discussing the topic, again without insults.
  2. When you've grown up with a 12 hour format, you need to do the math until your brain builds a relation between the two times.I only learned as I worked in a factory for a few years, worked in a Pharmacy, and at my current job in backend Development in the US. It's the only time I've needed to use 24 hour format. It's not common in the US to do it, but it's just something that takes time. While I don't think that we need to conform to one format, a toggle is a great suggestion, however in LEO factions, I think standardization is fine. I generally do all my time in 24 hour format since a lot of my things spill over to the next day.
  3. -1 for me, keep in 24 hour format Honestly, the maths not that hard to do. If you need to just break it down more. 19 = 2 - 10 which is 7pm. Over time you get used to associating the times. I don't see a reason to force everyone to use 12 hour timescale, when a vast majority use 24 hour timescale. We use km's in the server for responding to calls and taxi's why not also request we switch to miles. Same principals.
  4. This is a roleplay server. There is no real life justice system. You aren't given a trial for felonies or serious misdemeanors. You appeal after you serve your time. Cops are judge, jury, and executioner. Why is this relevant? Well, we need 100% definitive evidence to convict. Statements aren't definitive. 90% of LEO/Crim interactions end with people demanding to be rushed to DOC or Paleto/MRPD to start their jail sentence. People don't want to be interrogated, there's no way to read facial cues, or determine truthfulness from speech patterns, especially when people type to talk. Bodycam helps us act as in game mods for IC situations in a sense. We are still held accountable and prison sentences can be reverted, and the alleged compensated financially. So, yes in the real world, civilians wouldn't have body cams, however, this isn't a 1:1 recreation of the real world. We also have to respond to situations where we can't get statements, or since it's VOIP, everyone talks over each other. We pull someone to the side to talk to them, and people just W key over to you regardless. They imped the investigation, get arrested for Obstruction, and get upset in /b calling us corrupt or saying we're ruining their fun. We don't ask for bodycam to disregard the situation at all. We ask for it, because it cuts out 90% of the bullshit that makes a 5 minute scene of some road worker punching another at lot less of a headache and earache to deal with. The number of times I had to take off my headphones because someone thinks the louder they scream into the mic, the more validity their point holds. You can't silence people, you can't suppress chat without muting everyone in VOIP. If you want to see why we work as we work, come do a ride along if you're not on a criminal character, or apply to PD/SD and get first hand experience why we work how we work. This is already in place. This already exists. It's not so cut and dry, or people willing to RP or respond to RP. I had one investigation last night where I was called out for metagaming by investigating the key ignition of a vehicle to determine whether the accused hot wired and stole their car. Yeah, that's great immersion for me to have to spend 5 minutes in /b to explain why I can see what I see, why I can look for what I'm looking for, and how it is not metagaming, especially someone of my department rank who has had countless experiences with GTA arrests. Feel free to do so. @HobGoblin provided you with the link to IA for PD. SD has their own found here.
  5. Absolutely, as long as X, Y, and Z passes the checks in game, go for it in regards of implementing automation! I just hope it is relatively trivial to integrate.
  6. The way to integrate it requires a lot of checks needed however, so it won't be as easy as select, ctrl + c, ctrl + v and change a couple of variables
  7. Here's the thing about all this automated suggestions and such. They require dev work. They take time to build, and it can be delivered broken. If it were to be explored, it'd be a while for it to be integrated.
  8. Usually "if you are sent to Pillbox" can mean two things, taken there, or you are NLR'd. My response was on the latter. When you're NLR'd, as you know, you're automatically teleported to the nearest hospital spawn point. However, your addition of having a "timer" after choosing allows for the additional RP for the medics on scene. Also think about it from the perspective of New Players, or people that are just at the point where they're "done" with just playing and don't care anymore. I'm not finding excuses, I'm providing additional things to think about. I didn't flat out say, "This is shit, don't do this."
  9. While I'm onboard with this, the issue with getting sent to pillbox and being able to delete is that it's really not in alignment with RP. Medics trying to save your life wouldn't get the chance to try and save you, or you being able to give them RP to actually die. Also, if you die, you leave a corpse. You decide to delete your character, you will not leave behind a corpse, as any instance associated with it will get removed as well. Reference Combat Logging on deaths, sometimes the corpse will bug out and poof. To everything else: I'm fine with CK, and it is granted, but there has to be good RP behind it. There has to be good reason behind it. However, I don't think there needs to be a way to delete your character, as people will regret things later on. It's a very serious action to take, because if your character isn't delete, what if you decide 1 year down the line to log back into it. Now you are in an awkward situation. I don't know what scripts are behind a CK, so I'll let an admin respond on that one.
  10. Guys, please. While I understand that people will agree and disagree, please let's keep with constructive criticism and explanations/counter-arguments.
  11. Please add something constructive to the conversation instead of throwing jabs. There are specific reasons, and realistic points where METRO or SED in real world would be heavily armored, as it was indicated above by multiple individuals in the respected divisions. There are IC protocols and IC reasons why one would be geared like that, and if this was in breach of anything related to it, it should be reported as IC. However, if you're not aware of everything going on in the city at that very minute, I can understand confusion.
  12. I'm sorry, you want to add RP to my RP? What's next? RP in my RP D&D game, in my RP server? +1 I love the idea of being to roll something other than a d6.
  13. All too common when LEO have to deploy a taser to subdue a suspect, I think there should be some sort of multiplier added to individuals based on number of times in a situation they are tased. Currently, tasing only knocks off 1hp, which is balanced and correct with a 10 second "freeze" for the player to allow for some interactive RP, such as cuffing. During situations, whether a minor crime happened or a large event happened, we end up having tasing someone 3+ times to just control them, as it is a video game, and you are limited to just /me's and /do's. I've encountered this a lot where when someone is tased, I will type out a /me attempts to grab hold of X/ID's arm helping them up and maintaining his grasp while Y/escorting him to the cruiser, just to have the RP missed, not read, or ignored. Realistically, getting tased once or twice is enough to bring someone down, and the pain associated with being tased is enough to not wanting to get continuously tased. Yes, it's NRP to ignore multiple tases, or not RP the effects of the tasing, but outside of someone in VOIP making sounds of someone going through the "electrical chair", it stops from there. Yes, we can make a /report 3/4 or Player Report if enough time is passed, but to provide the proper RP expected from LEO, these types of situations need us to vibe off the RP given. It can be frustrating to have someone just to shake off the effects of a taser like nothing happened. However, this is a video game, and not real life, so asking people, those with high XP, low XP, New Player tag, etc to try and grasp how being tased should impact your character, I feel exploring the option of a modifier would be useful. So, as stated initially, starting off with a 1x multiplier, you take 1hp damage. 2nd time, you lose like 5HP, 3rd time 20hp, etc etc. Numbers aren't exact, but the point I'm trying to convey is there. The multiplier would also decrease over time as well, say in 5 minute increments. Decreasing due to the body recovering from receiving 50,000 volt discharge. If you are medically treated through Pillbox, or /stabilize, or get NLR'd, then the multiplier count would reset completely. Regarding OOC tasing, like getting anim stuck I think this would not be an issue as, delivering someone to Pillbox from LEO/MD would reset the counter, and the first tase would be 1hp. While also being dropped off at Pillbox, you're have Poor Wellness. So that shouldn't affect anything. I will be anticipating a lot of -1's and such, but please, if you disagree, I would love to hear reasonings as to why. Would love to have a meaningful discussion.
  14. The only piece that I am going to add here, and while not relevant to the topic but more so a common phrasing is, stop saying "And i will say one thing, this is a video game,". These topics always turn from "it's not realistic that X should be able to go around with Y" all the time as it's unrealistic, then on the flip side say "this is a video game." We know it's a video game, however this is a strawman argument, and it's rather tiring. The mentality of RP for thee, but not for me is just a fallback on there are good valid points brought up, alas I still don't agree, so lets remind people it's a video game. LEO pours their hearts into their characters. We enjoy the legal side of the RP. Some people see different paths for their preferred RP, like being a deployed tactical response unit for dangerous scenes. As @ArcAngel has stated, if you want to pick fights with a faction that realistically should be coming out on top, you need to be smart about your tactics then. Defaulting to the "its a video game" argument, and others saying "well if LEO dies they can just log off for 30 minutes, and come back and fspawn a car, fl new weapons and armor and continue on with their day." No man, not always. We need to check in fchat if we can respond to X due to NLR. We get to sit there and listen to radio calls for back up as units are getting melted. We get to think up some lame excuse or ignore radio because NLR'd. Trust me, just because we can't lose assets, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt us. We're not robots guys. This was a slight tangent, but I wanted to address this, as it is so commonly said on the daily when it's X vs LEO.
  15. In my opinion it makes absolutely zero sense for LEO's of specific divisions to not have heavy armor or high AP. This is a division of highly trained, with niche'd work, aimed at helping deal with very tough situations. To say that they should be bound to 50AP to 100AP is absurd in my opinion. Go look at anything LAPD, which LSPD is based off of, and look at anything SWAT related within them. They are not wearing thin kevlar. They are heavily geared. They are set up to deal with any different type of ammo variations that exist in the world. These are not GOB Officers by primary assignment. When they are called on scene to deal with a situation, and are geared up, that's because shit is about to go down, or shit is going down.
  16. As others have stated, this used to be an 18-month wait depending on the charges. So this has already been reduced due to internal discussions. I don't think there's a valid OOC argument, as all that's been stated is "this is an RP server" and "this is just a game". The latter argument is always the weakest argument, as it's trying to OOC justify IC consequences for IC actions. People want to always portray realistic action/consequences, but only if it benefits them, otherwise it's "it's just a game". I'm not saying you're explicitly saying it, just a generic overall it's been said by people.
  17. Not really, it's literally say "I have an issue with X." The process for dealing with X is to argue it with Y. That's literally the point I'm making.
  18. No, but bringing up changing of policies that's IC, is what I mean. Go to GOV and argue with JB/GOV about how it should be changed. Whether it's valid or not, doesn't mean you can't try IC. You can literally try and argue anything IC to change IC policies, like arguing removing Face B from the Penal code. That's all I mean.
  19. LEOs do make Forum Reports. There are quite a few within the last month made by LEOs. Also stating that admins always end up siding with LEO is an untrue statement. As LEO, the consequences for rule breaking is the same as it is for anyone else on the server. COI's are checked before the admin takes the report. IA reports are suggested for things that make sense to pursue IC, as there wasn't a rule break in question. Everything you listed in your first two sentences are literally not OOC rule breaks, these are literally IC things that can pursued. An OOC rule break would be an LEO running you over while you're on foot purposely, or a LEO coming to cuff you, frisk you, and using /drag without a single /me
  20. This is an IC issue, not really an OOC policy.

Can you share any photos of the interior, or can we organize a showing?
  23. Honestly, I think the script for the BAC needs to be reworked. The number of times people have blown 2+ BAC is just very unrealistic. Like that's what, 500% over the lethal limit?
  24. Ah, I will be honest then, I thought the same rules for Player Cars applied to NPC cars as well. My mistake.
