  1. -1 Really surprised that nobody has mentioned the fact that the way joint freq's were before just didn't make sense RPly. It almost never makes any logical sense for one gang to supply physical backup to another, risking their own lives for somebody else's problem. This is especially true when you consider that 9 times out of 10 allied gangs on the server have been dragged into a conflict for the sole reason of their alliances with other gangs. Of course that doesn't mean you cant have allies, but as alex has stated, you supply support to your allies in different ways than just throwing bodies to meat shield bullets because they can just respawn later. The server is meant for roleplay, not chain fighting.
  2. +1 to nearly every idea in this besides the heat system. I think adding a form of a scripted 'star level' that has no RP to back it doesn't really make sense. PD/SD does well enough as is IMO discovering crimes through actual roleplay.
  3. Currently, as far as I'm aware, laptops are paper weights. They have no use for criminals, and no use for civilians. My suggestion is to add functionality to laptops that improves RP for both crims and civs. Currently, my idea is that each laptop would be given an IP address, like how guns are given serials. Civilian Features: Implement websites ICly onto the laptop, such as LifeInvader, government websites for PD/SD/MD/DOC/DCC/MECH, banking website for checking balance/taxes/withdrawals/deposits/transfers, a catalog with pricing for vehicle dealerships and gun stores. Also, allow business owners to make paid customized advertisements that would pop up occasionally for laptop users. Another feature could be cryptocurrency investment or a stock system that fluctuates. Also, allow civs the ability to purchase functioning CCTV cameras from the furniture store that they can hook up at their house or business that they can access via a laptop. They could be linked by having a 'Synchronize with Laptop' option on the camera, where you enter the laptop's ip address. When synched, a player would be able to view the live cctv footage from their linked laptop. Criminal Features: Dark web implementation. This would come with multiple features, such as being hidden behind an encrypted entry puzzle that would have to be solved by gathering information via bribes or intimidation from various turf NPC's throughout the city. However if PD/IB catches whiff of the Dark Web, they would be able to access it themselves through the same encryption puzzle or through a laptop that has already accessed the Dark Web and shut it down temporarily. After a while, the NPC's would start business up again and open a new site that would generate a new puzzle to solve to gain access. Once a user has gained access to the Dark Web, they would have access to a website that acts as a form of anonymous messaging, meant to be primarily used as a means of selling illegal weapons and drugs from player to player. There could also be a hacking system implemented, using the many hacking scripts that are already implemented in GTA and GTA:O, such as these: If successful, there could be a few possibilities. The hacker could be either given a fluctuating sum of money deposited directly to their bank, or if the cryptocurrency/stock system above was implemented, they could be given a fluctuating amount of crypto/stocks in their name that they could hold onto or sell right away. However, if the hacker fails then police would be informed of an attempted hacking attempt, and the hacker's location and laptop ip address would be given to the IB.
  4. Currently on the server, keys are kind of wonky. They are always scriptly on your character unless specific RP is done to hide them constantly, and many issues arise which break immersion when keys are 'robbed' or borrowed from another player. Often times you will have to do RP to take keys off an individual, just to have to carry them or have themselves walk over to their vehicle to unlock it. In short, my suggestions is that we make house and vehicle keys an inventory item, much like clothes and weaponry. This could be done in a few different ways, but my main idea would be that a new section of the inventory UI is added called the key ring. It would work like the recently implemented clothes and weapon UI's, but it would be for physical keys. The key ring would also have a limited number of slots for keys, say 4 or 5 different keys. Thus, excess keys for multiple different houses or vehicles would have to be stored someplace safe. Individual keys wouldn't specifically state what they were for, they would just be named either Vehicle Keys or House Keys, but the owner of said keys would be able to inspect them to find out what they are for, much like a person IRL knows which key is their house key and which is for their mailbox or vehicle. A physical key would be given to a player upon purchase of a house or vehicle, and their locks would have to be changed to no longer allow old keys to work on them. If a key was lost or destroyed somehow, someone needed a spare set of keys, or their locks needed changed, a player could go about getting a new set by visiting either Mors Insurance, or there could be a new scripted job added to the server called a Locksmith, whose job would be to create new and spare keys for requesting players and to change the locks of houses and vehicles of requesting players. Anytime a vehicle is claimed from mors, the claiming player would be given a new key and the locks will have been changed by the insurance company. I think this would allow for deeper roleplay involved with the key system on the server, as currently keys seem to revolve around OOC unlocks that break immersion for both parties. If you have any more to add or say about the suggestion, please leave it below in the comments.
  5. A MOURNING STAR Chapter Three: Lost Shawn didn't know how to feel. He had already been broken mentally and physically from the loss of a gang that he called family before, so of course it happened again. 'What could I have done different?' he constantly asked himself. He often came up blank for an answer, and this left Shawn exhausted. At his lowest, he contemplated suicide. Shawn had deemed it would be an easy way to get away from his problems and emotions, but then he remembered something. He had made himself a promise to become successful in Los Santos, one way or another, and so he threw those thoughts out the window, rather than himself. So the next question became, what now? He had already traveled the world, seeing what it had to offer outside of Los Santos, and he wasn't satisfied. He no longer had a crew, and thus decided to stray from criminal activities for now. But Shawn's thirst for money was still lingering, and no matter what he did he always wanted more. Shawn decided the best way to solve his problems was a distraction that could also generate cash flow. So he hit two birds with one stone, by bottling his anger, sorrow and mourning by spending his time mining, hunting and fishing. Honestly, the money was pretty good, but he felt... off. This wasn't who he was, and so he quickly decided to creep subtly back into criminal affairs. Recently, the cartel had started exporting drug manufacturing equipment and materials to the large gangs within Los Santos, so Shawn decided to invest. He acquired a small amount of equipment from a past friend and got to work in his cramped low class apartment. While the environment wasn't the best, the time he spent in that apartment cooking up countless batches of drugs helped to sate his thirst for money, and taught him a few tricks about the manufacturing business. After a few weeks, Shawn had saved up a hefty chunk of money when something strange occurred... Chapter Four: A Shade One night, Shawn was visiting a local drug distributor to discuss selling prices for the product that he had been manufacturing, when an inconspicuous figure appeared to his left. The man greeted Shawn as an old friend, even knowing his name. He begun to ask questions about what Shawn had been up to, and since Shawn had nothing to hide he shared what he went through the past few weeks. The man seemed intrigued about the information Shawn had shared with him, and took a step closer. Instantly, Shawn realized who the man was. He knew that stance from a single glance, and questions began to quickly fill his head. Shawn expressed how he thought his old friend was dead, and the man explained to Shawn what he had been doing to keep himself hidden. He offered Shawn a position within one of the groups he had been overseeing, and Shawn graciously accepted. Thus, Shawn was instructed to contact [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] for further instruction, and the man went on his way. The next day, Shawn got into touch with the two that were mentioned, and they set him up with a management position in their organization. He quickly integrated himself into their operations, and expressed that he knew of a way they could make a mass amount of income. He used what he learned about drug manufacturing in his shitty trap house and invested into more equipment and space for a large cooking operation. So, the group spent a lot of their time collecting ingredients and plants to generate a steady cash flow for themselves. However, they started to garner some unwanted attention from The Council. Too many people were asking too many questions. The group had to figure out a way to remain hidden from the public eye. They all decided it'd be best for them to constantly change their physical appearances and to adopt the usage of code names, so that they could not be identified easily. Shawn loved this, as he was an expert when it came to raw unleashed drip. He filled his closets with varying outfits, and mixed and matched where he saw fit. With the drug operation bringing in funds, and the constant appearance changes keeping their identities a secret, the group began to feel good about themselves. They were successfully hiding from not only the cops, but also from other criminal organizations that sought to burn them to the ground. They had become a well oiled machine, and Shawn was back to what he knew and loved. He had become a shade in the darkness.
  6. -1. Completely prevents the possibility of a drug lab that was carelessly left unlocked getting raided. Makes no sense rply to not be able to dismantle furniture in a house that you are in, and the only reason the build permissions are even a thing is to prevent griefing. I understand the issue with tables randomly going missing but hopefully the phased apartments fixed that issue.
  7. SOCIAL MEDIA TAKEOVER Chapter One: Burger Reviews With Life Invader becoming a huge deal throughout Los Santos, Frankie and Shawn decided that they would invest some time and effort into a social media platform to build their business relations and popularity. Frankie came up with the idea of burger reviews, and Shawn agreed that the potential for future sponsorships and advertisements would definitely be worth it's weight in gold. They started right away, making a page on Life Invader, producing art for the page, and recording their first burger review. It was an easy choice on what store's burgers should be reviewed first, as everyone and their mother has visited LosZantos247 at the back of the Los Santos Bank. With the first burger review recorded and edited, it was uploaded to the social media tycoon where it gained an insane amount of support and traction through shares and likes. Chapter Two: Icy With the success of the burger reviews, Frankie and Shawn threw themselves into the social media platform head first. The same night, Shawn noticed that the Fire Department had dropped a track on Life Invader called 'Flame Gang'. He gave it a listen, and felt disrespected as a resident lab connoisseur. Shawn met with Frankie, and discussed his idea for dropping a diss track on the Fire Department, and they quickly got to work. With the diss track recorded and mixed, the two uploaded it across Life Invader for the entire city to listen.
  8. +1, I think if somehow someone has the ability to access a safe and have the time to drill into it, they should be able to. Seems silly that I could just leave my house door unlocked but as long as my safes are locked none of my belongings can be stolen.
  9. +1, currently the extent of prison rp is fist fights and screaming at guards. I like the idea of prison having its own economy especially.
  10. I do think the addition of varying payouts depending on amount of officers on duty will help solve the 'farming' of the heists, we just need more time spent with the system to see how it works out. -1 for now, but if it remains an issue I believe the best bet would be to make unrealistic bank heists nonrp.
  11. A MOURNING STAR Chapter One: The Saints When Shawn first came to the city, he had nothing. No family, no assets, and no friends. Everything that he partook in was a completely new experience, and every face he met was a complete stranger. Shawn tried to figure out a way that he could leave his impact on the city, and for a while he struggled with the thought that maybe he just wasn't cut out for life in Los Santos. Countless hours of fishing, transporting money across the city, and delivering packages just wasn't able to feed the hunger that developed deep in his gut. Shawn began to envision what he wanted his life to become, and thoughts such as 'Fast cars, fancy cribs, and lots of bitches' constantly drove his will to succeed. Eventually, he realized that if he really wanted to leave a mark, he would have to develop close relationships. Shortly after, he met a man named CJ who was also relatively new to the city. CJ had very similar goals to Shawn, but had different ways of achieving them, he was deep in the criminal side of life. After their friendship developed, CJ revealed his strategies for making a quick buck to Shawn, and they formed a partnership devoted to money. Eventually, they met a group of individuals who were holding down a selection of properties on Grove Street who had alike ideals and goals. The group later formed what became known as The Los Santos Saints. Due to his help in founding the group, recruitment, and building relationships with other gangs, Shawn developed a leading role in The Saints. He became known as one of the Pillars, the heads of the group. Shawn made connections across the entire city, even with people that had obtained a lot of power, such as the Marcellos. An agreement had been made between the groups, and The Marcellos would secretively supply The Saints with discounted access to heavy weaponry. Eventually, The Saints began to realize things about the state of the criminal side of Los Santos. An organization of gangs known as 'The Council' was able to use their power to control every aspect of criminal life. Shawn started to become frustrated, as did other members of The Saints, and they set out to try and make a change to the way things were operated. This was no easy task, as at the time the council was made up of 3 large organizations, Los Zetas, The Irish Mob, and The Clowns. Thus, Shawn and the Saints decided they needed to develop an alliance with some of the smaller crews in the city to make a change. Sadly, this was not enough. The Council had a seemingly endless supply of both numbers and weaponry, and all hope for a 'revolution' of criminal life was gone, at least until The Irish left the council due to disagreements with The Clowns. This event sent a wave of relief across the alliance, and plans were made to bring The Irish, Los Calaveras and a new upcoming crew called The Wanted into the group. A meeting was conducted, and it was agreed that the alliance would continue to fight the Council. The efforts of the alliance were definitely being noticed, and for once we were winning. Sadly, it didn't last long. The Triads joined the side of the council. The Wanted pulled out of the alliance, for reasons that Shawn is still unaware of. The Marcellos numbers started to dwindle. The Irish started to fall apart from the inside out. And The Saints funds advisor/treasurer left the city for good with over 2 million in Saints assets. Thus, the alliance fell apart and so did the Saints. Everything that Shawn had worked towards had fallen apart, and all that he was left with was his own personal assets. In just a week, Shawn's entire life had changed. He was frustrated beyond belief, and left the city to travel the world in search for himself. Chapter Two: The Rooks Eventually, Shawn had enough of traveling the world. He had visited every corner of the globe, but he still felt unsatisfied. He constantly thought about how he was unable to really do anything in Los Santos, even with all of the work that he had put in. He decided enough was enough, and traveled back to Los Santos. Shawn realized how little had changed in the city. The main differences were that The Triads joined the council, while The Clowns, The Marcellos, Los Calaveres and The Wanted had disbanded. Shawn was confused as to what he should do next. Does he start a crew from the bottom up again? Does he set in search for new friends and relationships? In an attempt to hear gossip and random radio chatter, Shawn spent a lot of time at the bank chilling. A lot of old faces started to show themselves, and he realized that he still had connections. Shawn had heard tale of a crew called 'The Rooks', and he became enticed about what he was told on how they operate. In order to become a Rook, however, Shawn would have to put his past transgressions against The Council aside as The Rooks were on good terms with The Council. It was a hard task, as he had felt the presence of their choke hold for his entire criminal history, but he was able to shelf his hatred. He got into contact with who he could from The Rooks organization, and was eventually brought in as a fresh recruit. Shawn started to grow his relations within the gang, eventually becoming a full fledged member that was recognized as a soldier of The Rooks. He was especially keen on robbing general stores, making a quick buck that would go a long way towards weaponry. Everything seemed to be going great, and then seemingly out of nowhere The Council had dissolved their tax system. They had decided that instead of a gang's money, they demanded their respect. Seemingly instantly, members of The Rooks started getting robbed by Los Zetas. Confused as to what was happening, The Rooks were told that we had to earn the respect of The Council for neutrality. Even though The Rooks had spent their time in the city developing relations with The Council, they felt betrayed by the new outtake. Eventually, what felt like the entire city was against The Rooks, and Shawn knew what was coming. He knew that The Rooks didn't have the numbers to stand a chance in a war against 4 different gangs, and so did other members of the organization. A meeting was made, and Dmitri explained to the crew that our only choice to survive as a family would be to have a change in leadership. The Council wanted us to enact Gauge Michaels, a past Rook traitor, as our new leader. There was heavy discussion, and Dmitri then suggested that Jerzy be made the new leader. A vote between the options resulted in a tie, and then multiple people made the suggestion that they co-lead. Gauge to handle outer relations and Jerzy to handle inner relations. For now, that was the result of the meeting. However, in what felt like a coup, Gauge left the city shortly after, the Roger brothers left, and The Council then continued the war and what was left of The Rooks was quickly put to rest. Shawn felt like he had a rainy cloud constantly following him, waiting to strike at his happiest moments. Once again he felt lost. Once again he was alone. To be continued...
  12. Sometimes one needs a bit of a break after a long day of Workers Union business.
  13. +1, thought of this instantly when checking tables post ui update and think it would make much more sense to include those commands on the ui,
  14. +1, I think 3g interiors especially are in a weird spot that makes it feel not worth to upgrade from a 2g to a 3g due to space restrictions.
  15. +1 same issue here, leaving my house near bank causes infinite crash loop. My other house further away from bank doesn't seem to have an issue.
  16. Funny how this has 0 relevance. Only one person from the picture was in the discord call LOL. Please don't comment nonsense saltiness on this thread :)
  17. 5th Saint Vasily Fodorov took a few of the recruits out on the town for a bit of a hunting party... They ran into a well known member of the Los Zetas, and showed him how The Saints roll.
  18. +1, I also think wholesale price of the grocery items needs to be reduced. As it is now, they are importing the goods at what we used to pay when the stores were government owned. Also, the rate at which hunger and thirst depletes needs to be addressed, as well as making 1 food item and 1 drink item fully replenish your hunger/thirst bars.
