Let it rain

Unless maybe it’s for a public open event, we shouldn’t be changing the weather as often as we do.

It’s been like 2+ months since I’ve seen rain in game because every time it happens it gets changed back to sunny, and I’m on almost every day for a few hours at peak times.

”but wah storms are too loud” - then go inside a house or property, shout or use text chat. Also storms are even rarer than normal rain, both keep getting changed.

it is not like they are so frequent by default that it’s a nuisance either.

Does the majority actually dislike it that much or do you think it’s an RP opportunity?

It's pretty obnoxious that the entire weather of the server can be changed, any immersive ongoing RP is completely disregarded by someone who feels "It rains too much where I'm from already" 

The last time I brought this up, the response was "People shouldn't be doing that and to my knowledge, they aren't"  

 

It's pretty clear to anyone who plays the server regularly that someone/anyone with access to the ability to change the weather is doing it whenever they feel like it.

 

Restrict the command.

On average, Los Angeles experiences approximately 36 rainy days per year - I think the majority of the playerbase would prefer rain to stay rare

Well since someone brought it up, yeah I hate that the rain is getting dismissed. I think it's a great RP opportunity, we have raincoats in SD we never use and a new /panim umbrella that I want to exploit! Bring on the rain please!

My opinion on this, The rain is fine and everything but its just waay to loud, like i dont think people mind the rain its just the loudness that comes with it, if there is anyway to like lessen that loudness then it will be fine. Most of the times whenever it starts raining i legit cannot hear anyone who speaks to me and it is annoying.

I fully support the fact that more should be left on the server so that there is both rain and storms, as well as fog and all other weather conditions that are possible, not only day and night.

Could see if you can lower the audio file volume, if we can put in custom sounds for other things, there may be an option to change the thunderstorm noises.

in game SFX volume down, rage multiplayer volume up. there you go, everyone's biggest issue with the rain fixed, not hard.

I agree with this and I personally like the rain. it changes up the environment and makes driving feel different as well. The two complaints I hear most often is its either too loud or it lowers FPS for some players.

The rain makes for good RP and all, but the volume it is at makes it hard to RP in. I would like to see weather more but the volume def needs tweaking

Also keep in mind, I am referring to just normal rain not just the super extreme thunderstorms that are very loud. Normal rain is very much bearable, but that also gets reset. And the thunderstorms are even rarer than the normal rain.

A relatively good fix for super loud rain/storm weather is to lower the in-game sound fx volume, as it does not impact VOIP volume in any way, and just raise it again in sunny weather.
You might not be able to hear shots from 4 blocks down but tbh it's not that impactful

tbf if i’m playing LEO it makes it harder to here anything, as well as having any basic communication on radio. Well the idea is cool, i just don’t think having to be forced to go inside is the right idea

i dont mind rain when its not raining every 2 hours and i cant hear anything with the thundering ( no I'm not turning down my FX volume cause i cant hear anything important )

When it rains it lasts forever on god, we are not in Mawsynram we are in LA technically so i dont see why it rains that much man.

Make rain last less and not as often and ill be fine with it as it hinders gameplay and its annoying.

I 1000% agree that we need variable weather patterns. It would be cool to have some sort of forecast system created to plan accordingly to the weather, like you would in real life.

I have literally experienced the exact opposite.

It seems like it's raining like 70% of the time and it's ALWAYS an insane tropical storm. I'd love if they killed weather more often lmao

I love the rain, 9/10 I tell people to cope when it's raining.

That being said however, When it rains without fail at a specific time every day (around 6 AM UTC) And y'know, maybe that's the only time you play, I understand wanting that to change.

It does seem like there's already a script in place to determine weather and durations of weather.

I honestly think it rains TOO much. All the time.

 

After looking over my recordings almost 70% of the time when I spawn in. There is rain going on. There has been several times where I just AFK somewhere until the rain stops. Or simply log out and come back later if it's raining.

 

The amount of complaints I hear as well when it starts is off putting. I heard one just last night. "This is LA, but it rains here more then it does in my home country (he British)"

And he's right. San Andreas is based on Los Angeles. And should NOT have rain as often as it does.

Funny. I was complaining about that in MD faction chat just 1 month ago.

I'm guessing the frustration about the rain comes from players on a set time zone. As the time zone I play. Don't have this problem. Don't get me wrong. I've seen it start and instantly sometimes. And even tho I don't like the rain, the sudden swap is off putting. I wish the rain was just made rare script wise. And not manually

Im fine with the rain, its just the noise...

its rare we just have a bit of a drizzle. its either bone dry and sun shining or a fucking thunder storm going on outside. light rains should be more common and quieter true to real life.
