  1. Because it shouldn't take 3 shotgun rounds and two other people with .50's to bring down a single person at point blank. It's not realistic therefore it creates a huge disadvantage that should not exist.
  2. There is a rule on the server for this called FearRP, so this is not an issue on debate here. This is the issue. Cops already have the advantage, they have unlimited ressources not being capped actively. This discussion is to bring the "playing field" to a more fair and even one. PD/SD will always have the advantage due to their script. Criminals have to financially balance their ressources. So bringing the armor to a realistic or lower standard will not have any perverse effect on your risk factor. It may however make cops think twice about being the "hero cop" which if you think about it, will lower the amount of shootouts happening. And if you feel this will give criminals too much of an advantage, I think the W attitude needs to change. You win some, you lose some. At the end of the day, I don't wear armor on my crim. Why? Because I can't afford to lose it! And that is the advantage PD/SD have. And whilst it is a reasonable advantage, it doesn't mean cops should have exclusive access to higher AP. Give criminals the same AP, most of us won't wear it anyway, because when we die, we don't get to respawn a new one.
  3. Myself and a fellow Rook member recently attempted to kill Coral. I counted 12 shots to her neck/head (the majority being to the head) at close distance (literally standing behind her) with a .50. She wasn't even limping after the 12 confirmed shots. This is why the armor is currently an issue. Criminals should have access to the same AP or the AP of cops should be lowered to a more realistic setting.
  4. I can vouch for @Harley. Best ERP in town
  5. Hey Mr. Bakmeel. Big fan.

  6. OMGOMGOMG it's Tee, I'm such a fan!!! 😈😍

  7. Lights on, it's never fun in the dark
  8. Could it be possible to use what we do with SD/PD and MD and the /stabilize command? If no coroners are clocked on, LSEMs would be able to delete the body, and if a coroner is online, they simply have to make the call? Much like when no MD are on duty, SD/PD can /stabilize whereas if they are on duty the command doesn't work.
  9. +1 it is much needed, I hate that you can't turn the camera to view the entire car you want to purchase!
  10. From SD's POV (and my own personal views): Part 1: In an ideal world this would be the case, but in an ideal world the shopkeeper would be able to give a description of the suspects to us, he'd be able to tell us which vehicle was used etc, witnesses would be able to point us in your direction and we'd have a fighting chance. On ECRP, although you are the only vehicle on the road, we often arrive too late (we do not have access to CCTV anymore in the store from a distance), and when we do see somebody fleeing the scene, we don't arrest or detain unless we have some evidence that you were involved (ie: cameras or identical clothing to the CCTV footage). I think turning a blind eye to criminals because they're not RPly the only ones on the highway would make it impossible for us, as like I said above, we don't get the benefit of the shopkeeper giving a description. It's a balancing act, I agree, since it's ECRP, but I think this would make it too OP for criminals if we turned a blind eye to any vehicle leaving the scene. Part 2: As far as SD goes, if you destroy or flip your cruiser, you're waiting until the pursuit is over to get a lift to Davis Station. Or the alternative, somebody picks you up and you stay in their vehicle until the suspect is caught. We don't get a drop off to Davis until we can. As for RP injuries, I love the idea of reinforcing RP injuries following a collision with something or flipping a cruiser. However, that I feel goes both ways, for LEO's and for crims. I mean let's be real, a crim can also flip his vehicle, stall or crash, and there is almost no repercussions from the criminal either. Either they keep going or they get in a foot pursuit after stalling their engine. We shouldn't have these double standards! I agree there are certain areas where RP can be reinforced (injuries in an accident), but I feel that crims also have to respect this. We do have a lot of rules surrounding nonRP actions, like Harley said above, and we are reprimanded OOCly (or ICly, depending) on it.
  11. I like this idea! Plus, you know when you're "one hit" because your car makes a heck of a noise and there's smoke.
  12. Additionally, not everybody can page SWAT or SED. I actually don't know at what rank we get given the pager, but it certainly isn't DS 1 or 2, and that's the rank of the majority of deputies (per ranks).

    Cops 2 OP

It is literally just stated above you that the focus after criminal updates will be revamping the DOC. I don't see how your comment carries any weight thereafter other than to ignite this debate.

    Cops 2 OP

SD here! o/ I have to agree that it is merely a skill issue. I am sure PD are the same, but we lose at least 50% of all pursuits on a given day. If you were caught, it is either unlucky circumstances or you are just bad at it. No offense intended. Secondly, y'all are acting as if we disregard the rules and powergame our way through it. This is not true, we are held to very high and strict standards. If we screw up (and we're human behind our screens, it happens to everybody) we pay the price for it, whether it be through a player report, an IC suspension or other. This is a serious RP server. And half of you are under the age of 30 and I very much doubt that any of you are in some high functionning cartel IRL. In fact I'd put money on the fact that most of you have not even seen inside a prison cell. We don't RP GTA online, we RP as realistically as possible. So whilst we are bashing PD and SD for being too OP, can someone explain why the heck you evade for getting pulled over for a speeding ticket? Or why when given the opportunity for RP there is absolutely none? I was held at gunpoint just yesterday on my SD character, and ultimately the guy was screwed regardless. This could have turned into a great story arch, possibly taking me hostage to try and escape, instead, he jumped back into his vehicle leaving his friend to die, and left the scene. He didn't even take my radio. IRL, gangsters don't bait cops, gangsters don't carry illegal .50's on their hips for everyone to see, gangsters don't speed when they have illegal stuff in their vehicles! This isn't about cops being too OP. We don't want the W, we don't want to chase you, in fact, it is annoying. We want to RP, but this mentality right here in this thread goes to show that you only care about the W. Go buy body armor if you are too worried about getting shot at (which by the way, only happens if we are shot at first). Lastly, 5 hours in the DOC is not too long. An arrest report at the very least takes 30 minutes to write. And we do anywhere between one to ten of those in a day. If I didn't want to do that, I'd resign. If you don't want to serve time for doing crimes, then don't do crimes. Or, just get good. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
  15. Teamspeak is only an additional radio for LEO's. We use VOIP whilst we speak on TAC so it's really no different to if you asked us to use in-game radios. Like mentionned above, we have so many channels and traffic that we require additional radio systems in order to keep traffic open and communications clear between departments. By all means, if DEV's can develop an in-game system, sure! But in the meantime, we use teamspeak like a handheld radio in game. So I don't see the issue. Furthermore, I don't see why criminals would need teamspeak. Y'all don't necessarily need different channels as in theory, you only communicate with one group and the iFruit exists for other players! It also makes metagaming more accessible, and even without teamspeak, we have enough metagaming issues.
  16. One cold night in late November, Margot's phone pinged on the bedside table. The digital bedside clock read 3:00. Careful not to wake up Vince, she rolled over softly and grabbed her iFruit pro that was laying on floor next to the bed. It took a moment for Margot to realize what the text was saying and an instant to know she would return. Margot knew that she could not tell a soul about her departure. Worried that the two people closest to her would try to stop her, she decided against better judgement to just disappear. She kissed Vince ever so gently on the cheek, whispered "I'm sorry" into his ear, and left. Not to be seen for another 4 months. It was with a heavy and nervous heart that Margot returned to Los Santos. She had left everybody behind and now she was back. And she had amends to make. During her time away, Margot stayed low, destroyed her sim card and went about securing the assets that Interpol had not touched yet. With her childhood bodyguard, they set off to Russia to search for Ivan Mandovich, the family lawyer that disappeared mid-hearings, taking confidential and dangerous documents with him. They still had not found Ivan. But four months in, the assets had been secured, and Margot rewrote the encryption and cyber security codes for the mainframe. She was ready to go home. One person she had to make amends with was Urban. Strong willed and stubborn Urban. She text Urban the day her plane touched down, and asked to meet up. Urban was reluctant, and literally made Margot race after her around the city until finally she agreed to talk. They met at the Casino. Urban was mad. And Margot could not blame her. She had left without so much as a text. It took a lot of explaining and heartfelt apologies, but finally Urban gave over. Saying she would not trust her entirely, but that at least she would forgive her. Eager to prove to those closest to her that she was here to stay this time, and did not plan on leaving again, Margot found herself handing out resumés to companies in the hopes of finding employment. Eager to put her experience as a CFO into action, she decided that the next best thing was WeazelNews. Here she could put her skills back to work and write for the newspaper. Within a week, she was promoted from Junior Writer to Writer, and had begun networking with the elite in the city. There was one last person that Margot had to apologize to. And that was the DevilMan. The day she saw Vince again, she could tell that she had hurt him badly. He barely looked at her, and said he needed time and space to think. He had not expected Margot to return to the city. But Margot won't give up that easily, and only time will tell if her efforts to reconquer her DevilMan will succeed. She is not giving up easily. They had spent some time together since her return to the city, and she felt the bond growing slowly again. But he was hot and cold, and she couldn't blame him for that. She was going to keep trying, hoping he would see that she was sincere.
  17. Hi Greenblex! I am Skye!
  18. +1 I agree, it's unfair for active players wanting to run a business catering to inactive players who log in simply to restock. Due to limited amount of spots available for scripted property ownership, we should proactively be setting up guidelines for scripted business owners, including a fixed minimum gameplay requirement (on that character) to continue to keep that business. IMO.
