  1. 1.4 Execution(s) We don't allow this, because then every interaction would result in you just killing whoever it is you committed a crime in front of. The server is about advocating creative RP situations and interesting RP. Not rob > kill. Your claim that a reasonable criminal would also kill whoever was a witness to the crime IRL is also just not true, the number of criminals and criminal activity far outweighs the number of killers, because robbing someone is very different from killing somebody and it's not something most people do lightly. 1.5 OOC Corruption Rule(s) OOC corruption rules are in place to keep a realistic ratio of corrupt to non-corrupt Medics/Officers. If we had no OOC standards then every 3rd Officer would be corrupt, which would be unrealistic. If Officers wants to be corrupt then they can develop the backstory for it and then contact the leadership of their faction for permission, this has been done before a few times. Corruption RP is not something everybody gets to do, and never will be, because it doesn't make sense in most cases for a cop to suddenly like hanging around with cop killers. Secondly, this goes the other way too. You say it corruption should be a choice, but then there would be nothing whatsoever stopping a LEO from piling you with false charges, putting you in massive debt and giving you an extremely long prison time. OOC corruption rules exist to maintain quality within the factions themselves and the other people they interact with on the server. This is not metagaming or Non-RP, because players agree to this before joining the faction, with the full understand that we expect them to develop their characters realistically. If they want to be corrupt then that opportunity is available, so long as they develop their characters realistically over time. It wouldn't make sense for a brand new Cadet to just suddenly start taking bribes, slapping charges on people he hates and executing people. There exists RP standards.
  2. The clothes have to be supported by RAGE before they can be implemented and currently we pretty much have all of them.

    Aiming dot.

-1 Gun fights have been more fun, intense and risky since they removed the dot and I think it makes people think, before engaging in a fight. Desync will always be an issue and having a dot doesn't really mitigate that all too much, since desync varies quite drastically. If you know people who are using software then it's your obligation to report them.
  4. I'm not sharing that, because it doesn't matter, but people have been banned or issues server punishments through IA reports or normal forum reports, you just never see it, because that's not public information, but if you want to you can go onto the LSPD website and look at the discharges and demotions sections. You will see quite a lot of people have been demoted in the faction or even removed for OOC reasons.
  5. Within the past month multiple people have been suspended, removed from the faction and even issued server punishments directly due to IA reports. This is just not true.
  6. The PD is a no crime zone for a reason, because it doesn't make sense to commit felonies there IC'ly. Sorry, but this makes no RP sense and in the past, before PD was a NCZ, it was a constant war ground with bodies everywhere. PD is a hub for policing, criminal and civilian RP, allowing this would just result in 24/7 groups of people coming in and killing everybody. Which is not only nonsense RP, but also looks bad to any new player that wants to, say, report a crime, get a gun license or do some civilian RP there, but can't, because the 10th gang that day wants to raid a factions headquarters. This would also just detract from the rest of the server, as all of the cops would be back at PD all the time, because someone wants to have a go at stealing weapons.
  7. Not paying parking tickets doesn't give you a warrant. The only time you get a warrant for not paying a ticket is if an Officer sees you have not paid a ticket and manually places a misdemeanour charge on you for "failure to pay a fine". You can't pay this away and then not be wanted, as it is a charge that requires you serve a jail sentence. This is not an automatic system, again, it only happens if an Officer places that charge on you. If an Officer places this charge on you without a valid reason then this is an In-Character issue and can be dealt with IC'ly by reporting the Officer to internal affairs here: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3259
  8. Just like IRL your criminal record remains and so would the case RP'ly. RP'ly there would be yes. That's what the Mobile Data Centre that the police use is for. In character actions have in character consequences.
  9. It doesn't. Reckless operation is a misdemeanour charge and it wouldn't stop you from joining PD and probably no other government faction. The only way it might stop you is you have an active warrant or you have just way too many of them.
  10. @slimmer57 You made a claim with no evidence, you were directed to a form you could fill out that could be investigated if your claim is true. Otherwise, -1 Don't commit felonies and then expect to be employed by a government agency and the perks that come with it. It's not consistent RP to expect to be a criminal and also receive the perks of being a law abiding citizen. Choose one or the other.
  11. Make an Internal Affairs report: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3259 You don't need any evidence, you can just file a complaint and the internal IA detectives will investigate the issue.
  12. Can be answered with: "First of all, it is now incredibly difficult to obtain a weapon as a smaller gang". Obtaining a gun is not meant to be easy and criminals shouldn't have any access to legal firearms at all, this is after all a roleplay server and felons can't have gun licenses. Money is the incentive. Just like real life, acquiring a reputation for scamming your customers may make you a quick buck, but you will establish zero repeat customer base. That's the incentive, to establish repeat customers and nobody will trust a gang that gains a reputation for scamming people. As is intended. This isn't a win or lose server, that's the roleplay. Sometimes you just lose. Then they can rob the other gangs or attempt to become official. Most crime doesn't require you to have a gun though. Perhaps the issue is imagination that server mechanics, because I've been able to RP as a criminal and I'm not affiliated with any gang at all, not even a small group.
  13. Not a server suggestion. Archived.
  14. Which is just a bug that will be fixed.
  15. If you're losing a lot of money due to speeding then the cameras are working. RP'ly the city is full of thousands of cars and speeding around all the time is unrealistic, especially near NCZs. So, if you want to speed around then that's fine, but there are consequences for actions. That is the point of roleplay. This is similar to the complaints about being put in prison and made to serve a sentence for the consequences of RP'ing a criminal. If you don't like the IC consequences of IC actions then just adjust your IC actions, i.e, don't speed around or take different routes to avoid speed cameras. I don't really see hiding your license plate as a cure, because then everybody will just be driving around with a hidden license plate which is just as unrealistic as everybody speeding around at 200km/hr. When I was at the bank today it was nice to see people driving normally, rather than coming into the bank at 150, doing a mini jump up the hill and then skidding into a parking spot.

    Speed cameras

+1 Big plus 1, the amount of people speeding around at 200 needs to be reduced . Especially around NCZs
  17. -1 Could easily be abused to farm salaries or to escape RP scenarios by placing yourself in a different dimension.
  18. -1 It allows PD to quickly see what radio frequencies we're on.
  19. Aldari

    Tequila-La ATM

-1 ATMs do not hold an infinite amount of money in real life and having to go to the bank encourages possible RP encounters with other players.
  20. The comparison between LSC and MD is not a fair comparison. MD is by it's very nature a heavier role-play faction with a lot more to learn, it also includes a lot more interaction with community members and potentially new players on a context (roleplay) they might not understand. Standards are high, but they're high for a reason in MD and that is because of the level of roleplay involved. Apart from cops, MD probably interact with more people of the server than anybody else. "Just let them work" is a bad philosophy when the work MD do can really ruin or make someones day, and when they have such powerful script commands. They have to make sure those that get access to such commands are putting in the RP to compliment it. I agree MD need more people and I think there is other ways around this that don't include just letting anybody join. Reworking gun licenses is currently a work in progress. If you have a problem with another member of staff or see them abusing their power then report it, admins that have abused their position in the past have been punished and if they're seen abusing their position then they will be punished. It's curious to me that there is many accusations of staff or certain staff abusing their powers, but so little evidence of it. In a world where recording softly is freely and readily available and almost all games have built in screenshot functionality you'd think there would be evidence of this, but so far there hasn't bee anything, but word of mouth. Secondly, this is also why we have an appeals process. Admins are not infallible or incapable of making mistakes, we're subject to the human condition just like everybody else, that's why everybody has the right to appeal their punishment and why no decision made by an admin, or any punishment handed out, is considered final for all of time. If someone does appeal their punishment successfully don't instantly assume the admin that handed out the original punishment was in anyway malicious, we're not, sometimes mistakes happen or sometimes a more senior member of staff disagrees. Lastly, being a member of staff is potentially a thankless job that can lead people to confirmation bias. Everybody will remember those punishments you handed out to 5 people or a gang, or everybody will remember that one time you made a slip up, but does anybody remember the times you help people out? Not really, because they're not always public. So, when judging a member of staff, perhaps take the time to also consider the things they might have also done that day that you don't necessarily know about.
  21. -1 I believe there is enough sports car already and I'd like to see more low end cars made available. Everybody drives sports cars or cars they can ram with, I'd like to see more variety of car class, before there is more cars in one particular class.
  22. Nice to see this is getting going. Goodluck guys.
  23. +1 Except for the Musket. Just seems a bit too unrealistic to me to have too many of those lying around, they're not common weaponry in real life and most are antiques now.
