  1. Can we get some archives for the market place, please. https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/forum/19-the-market-place/ After years of posts it's got pretty messy.
  2. +1 I'd be in favour of this if the vending machine had a stock limit and you could modify the price. People could buy stock from general stores and fill up their vending machines.
  3. Currently there is no way to expunge someones record. We can remove charges, but only charges not currently served, we can't remove historical charges. There is also no means of expunging a record, you may complain about a charge to Internal Affairs and then can reimburse you and make a note on your record that a charge was falsely applied, but no system is in place to expunge your entire historical record. Secondly, this is an IC suggestion, the LSPD decides the terms and conditions for receiving a firearm. If you failed to solve it IC'ly, then you've just failed to solve it IC'ly, like people fail to get laws and what not changed IRL all the time. There are no current plans to change the conditions for receiving a license to my knowledge. I am going to lock and archive this thread, as this is an issue IC issue and not a server suggestion. 4. -1 I don't like a cluttered HUD, I'd rather have less than more. Forgetting to lock a vehicle is not something I do very often.
  5. -1 I'm generally against have a long list of rules and stipulations to those rules as I think it creates a restrictive RP environment. Development could solve this issue by increasing the likelihood of flying through your window if you crash, perhaps adding seat belt scripting and it could also solve the issue by taking HP if you crash at certain speeds. Be the change you want to see. RP injuries, if you have a faction encourage others to do so and, if you're successful, it becomes the norm and then it becomes a expectation backed by the rulebook. To some degree it already is, I have myself given warnings to people who have suffered extreme crashes, rammed cars head-on or rolled down mountains only to get out shooting, this type of behaviour I would considered already handled by the Non-RP rule.
  6. -1 I've decided to -1 this on the basis that I don't think a reintroduction of turfs as we used have them would be a good idea. The turf system previously was not very good, and was counter productive to increasing RP on the server. The turf system suffered from three major issues: It involved no RP, you only had to sit on each spot for long enough to tick all three capture points to low health and then capture them. This often took a few hours, as one person on a capture point would increase the damage to the point by 7 up to 42 damage per tick (might have been 49) and I believe each tick was once every 2-3 seconds or so. Gangs would wait until you're logged off to take your turf - unrealistic It gave little incentive for big gangs to war each other and a big incentive for smaller gangs to harass bigger gangs The latter was particularly frustrating. I think for a turf system to work it'd have to encourage the following: In order for you to keep the turf you have to RP within it Turf annexing would have to be moderated enough that it can't happen when an entire gang is offline There has to be conditions that force a gang to capitulate and surrender to another gang. I think the turf system could work if the capture points degenerated to, say, 1/2 their health when there is not enough of your faction members inside the turf, this would encourage gangs to stay in their turf and RP there. If they fail to RP in their turf, the turf becomes vulnerable to attack and the gang may lose enough influence over it that someone captures it. I think wars and annexing could be moderated better by faction management, perhaps they could host events and wars where normal rules don't apply and they track attacks/defends and then determine a winner of a battle from that. Because right now the current rules don't really facilitate gang wars - a real gang would happily roll up and drive-by another gang they're at war with IRL, but if you did this in ECLIPSE and really any other server you'd be given DM, so perhaps faction management moderated wars could help gangs get the full gang war experience without hindering the rest of the RP on the server. Lastly, there really needs to be conditions that, once met, another gang is forced to capitulate to you. Turfs gave small gangs a big incentive to never seek peace, and big gangs a big incentive to seek peace. The reason for this is because a big gang would spend a lot of resources and manpower defending its turf from harassment attacks from smaller gangs, I remember my own gang a few years ago spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and 10s of hours defending a turf from a group of 10 people - My gang had 70 people in it. Why was this? Because we wanted to protect our turf and the smaller gang didn't care if they died, they'd just go get pistols, return and try again, but if we died we'd lose AKs, UZIs, our cars would be chopped, etc, costing us a fortune. Despite the fact we wiped them out 10x over and kidnapped them multiple times they had no incentive to actually peace out, even though realistically we wiped their gang off the face of the Earth. Again, maybe faction management can help with this by tracking how much damage one gang is doing to the other and when they have realistically been wiped out the faction management team can force them to peace out. But yea, I think there is a lot of revisionism that happens around the turf system, it really wasn't as great as people remember it to be. I'm not against turfs, but if they were to come back there would need to be a lot of changes to them.
  7. -1 We need less loot RP, not more. We need less focus on money, guns, cars, houses and more focus on engaging and fun RP experiences. I see no benefit to looting cops. I'll be more inclined to favour this once the community in a position that loot RP is no longer an issue, but I think the only thing this would lead to is people purposely ruleplaying and baiting police into giving them DM rights so they can take their weaponry.

    Nightclub NCZ's

The RP last night, if rules were broken then report it. If you're dissatisfied with the RP, have any complaints or think something better should have been done then inform your handlers! They're there to support your factions, and anybody can reach out to a member of faction management. We plan to increase communication among factions in the future, so utilise your handlers and then we can look towards moving forward on any issues brought to us. There is little to gain for anybody by duelling it out on a forum post. My only reminder to the people involved is don't assume any party had bad intentions, everybody here is here to RP and everybody here has reasons for their RP, it is easy to assume other involved parties had bad intentions, but I'm sure from their perspective they went in entirely with good intentions. Remember, you often only ever see the tip of an RP story line, there is often a whole iceberg of backstory, development and interactions leading up to it that from perspective may seem ridiculous or nonsense, but from the perspective of those involved seems like a natural development. As for this post, lets keep it on topic from here. This is not the place to really be discussing future RP plans, for factions to argue or communicate and it is not the place to assume bad intentions of the other parties involved. 9. I was able to replicate this. I do not, however, believe it is a bug. It seems it was overlooked in development to remove the prompt telling you to use the /stoppicklocking command to stop the pick locking sequence. Instead you should pres [ ESC ] to stop an action timer and pressing [ ESC ] does end the pick locking sequence and returns a prompt saying "Action has been cancelled!" Regards, Aldari_Tagril
  10. Hello, I believe this is intended behaviour as when the glass breaks it leaves an opening allowing the person to get through. If you don't think should be occurring then I suggest you make a server suggestion or suggest to your faction leadership that said doors should be changed to one you cannot get through. Regards, Aldatri_Tagril
  11. I was able to replicate this bug for the 4G interior. It did not, however, occur in the 1G interior when I tried. I was unable to test any other interiors.
  12. -1 Would lead to metagaming when people realise someone is an undercover cop by how they pulled their gun out.
  13. @tpmzeux Hey, can you please file for a refund request here:

    Bounty Hunters

-1 There are essentially already ways of doing this. Many Detectives will pay money or offer financial reward for information on criminals, gangs etc. You can become an informant. You may not be able to arrest someone and take them to the station, but there is similar RP opportunities out there already to that.
  15. +1 I like the idea, though I think it should be a chance to be ragdolled, not a guarantee. Each bullet impact comes with a certain chance of ragdolling you off the bike. Perhaps the more you're shot the more likely you are to come off.
  16. -1 The scoreboard can be a useful roleplay tool, especially if you need to roleplay with someone from a distance with /ldo or if you need to report an OOC issue to them using /pm or inform a moderator what the persons ID was. Plus, it helps alleviate the fact in real life people don't just vanish for random periods of time. I don't think anybody really wants to spend an hour running around trying to find someone only to figure they're probably not around. I'd rather have people RP'ing and interacting as much as possible, not aimlessly wandering around trying to find the particular person they need.
  17. No actual server suggestion provided. Create a discussion if you wish to discuss the state of combat. Archived.
