Usage of drugs

Hi.

I was thinking about trading drugs, not just go to the drop-off and we're done.

If we found a good way to use them so everyone needs drugs, we'll see people selling and buying drugs and its gonna be new criminal activity, more RPly than just going to the drop off.

I like it, I always enjoyed selling drugs to npc’s in the hood in some other city’s. Obviously npc’s wouldn’t be involved but I like the idea of selling drugs on the street to people.

Drugs could reduce action timers or something.

Drugs are boring right now people dont even use them they just sell them

They should add armor for a 10 20 minutes or speed, nightvision, rainvision, for example its raining in game and you don't want it, then you take drugs and get addicted

To apply side effects of drugs you need to take X grams

We need to remember this is a game, we want to have fun not only to make money

I mean i kinda agree maybe there could be some effects for using it but cmon getting super powers? That's the reality people don't want to rp they want to win everything regarding rp is shit for them, that's why you won't see people rping addicts or some fun stuff just because they're here to win.

I think this is why the original poster suggested adding effects for drugs. There need to be pros to using the drugs as well as cons, but balancing them and making them so they're not overpowered is important. I would really like to see the drug trade improve as well in this regard. It's also kind of odd to me that drug labs can't be set up by players in clandestine locations. It would give the police a lot of other stuff to do as well, and create a niche for vice detectives.

I see where you come from, but if drugs had a purpoce it would open up for some good rp scenarios for alot of people.

I do agree with you though that it Should just be for rp, but thats not how it works unfortune..

+1 I broke my ankle once while drunk, and carried on dancing through the night. It wasn't until the next morning that I found out that I had fractured part of the bone and torn the tendons. Taking drugs in game, should decrease your injury roll.

+1 to being drunk and not knowing you're injured. I was an EMT for a few years before I changed careers, and I've seen drunk or high on hard drugs like pcp, heroin, or meth shrug off tasers from the police and otherwise severely injure themselves and keep going; Usually when a normal person would be going in to shock.

Simplest way to introduce more RP with drugs is to take away the automated drop off locations for everyone and let only official gangs have access to it. This way drug deals would be way more common and it would open up a lot of RP opportunities. As far as using the drugs, I'm against them giving you super powers or imaginary body armor. Apart from RP, there isn't much reason to take drugs IRL either from my point of view.

Or to official mafia factions, so they can sell them buy the kilo to the gangs who then can sell them to smaller gangs or groups

I like this idea, however as some have mentioned certain drugs do yield certain physical affects and or bonuses. To me the whole concept of processing drugs, piling them up and then smuggling them to some drop off point is just remedial, grindy work. And all it results in is minor pay outs and a high probability of arrest and or robbery. If the drugs were more about using and roleplaying with them and selling them between players instead of through a scripted smuggling delivery service I think things would be cooler. For example I have had people outside the new Casino ask some of my members for weed to smoke, same with the hood. Legit have had people pull up to guys standing on the corner and ask if they have any dope to sell. That's the kind of drug sale and use RP that should be more prevelent here. I have nothing against Processing, and smuggling and the drop off points and how they work. However I merely wish more people were interested in actual ROLE PLAYING with the drugs instead of just going from point A to point B getting and dropping them off. Well anyways that's my personal opinion. As above person mentioned it seems each drug has it's own effect, if I had any suggestions regarding effects of use based on drugs this would be it.

Marijuana Use : Causes increased appetite, resulting in your water/food meter going down maybe 25% quicker?. Simulating cotton mouth and the munchies.

Cocaine Use : Slight increase in running speed for certain period of time? , Maybe grant 10-15 Armor if you snort enough lmao.

Heroin Use : Slows down your run speed and makes you sluggish, but your health can recover quicker if you are wounded.

LSD : Trip balls, this is fine for now. I see the visual effect it has and it can sometimes last for 30 actual minutes. LSD use is almost perfect so keep it the same.

I know there is other drugs, if anyone else has suggestions for potential effects when using those that could be cool too.

Addiction is broken. Why would I get addicted to a drug if I try it once and maybe I dont even like its effect?

+ using them ingame is pointless

In my opinion, drugs should give you attributes such as faster running speed but that makes you really hungry and thirsty at the end of the effect.

Another one should make you stronger so you take less damage from melee weapons or punches but you take more damage for a while after the effect is over or inability to run.

Cocaine could give you increased melee strenght but you are fatigued after its effect.

These are just ideas and if you ever want to change drugs, you should make the effects as close to reality as possible. We don't want drugs that give superpowers, as you can see from the previous answers. You can think about something thats better and rework addiction cause right now it does not make sense.

Meth already makes you run fast as fuck, try it out, coke adds armor already as well.
Maybe import the GTA online effects from smoking marijuana.
Heroin; possibly make it to where your food / water drains very very slowly while on the drug but your speed is slower.
LSD / Mushrooms / Ecstasy should stay as they currently are, because party drugs are party drugs

I know but using them is pointless if addiction fucks you up real badly after you use them once.

Looks like you actually need to play the game.
