  1. I think the bigger issue is the fact people want to die, over being arrested. Although I understand the points being made here, I don't think MD arriving on scene and using a command that starts to stabilize is the issue at heart. If poor RP is occurring during stabilize, or PD on scene beforehand are applying /cpr before proper treatment, that can be handled and dealt with. Either by Medics improving RP, or higher standards for PD treatment before /cpr. I do not think death RP should come back, I feel we should just enforce and raise the standard of treatment on scene before /cpr. If RP is not done properly, no cpr command should be done, and if MD shows up late, people will die, and we should be OK with that. Treating 3-4 bullet wounds, takes time, and as a community we should respect that fact, and not get upset if someone you just shot 3-4 times dies on you. However, the issue of virtually no punishment for death is one I wish would change. Or a reduced punishment for crime. Although I understand that doing crime should have a risk, and therefore "punishment" attached, it does feel excessive at times. I think we forget that criminal RPrs are not actually criminals IRL, they are roleplaying a criminal, nothing more. If they get caught, and go to jail, that is part of the risk of the style of RP they chose, but I am not sure 5-6 hours is a reasonable punishment. When you combine the sometimes lengthy /prison repercussion, with the lack of death repercussions, you end up with people WANTING to die. Which I feel is very bad for RP. I feel a higher death penalty could alleviate this. People driving cars recklessly, getting into reckless shootouts, not engaging criminals in a safe way should also come at a risk, if you die, you have a penalty. If that penalty was more in-line with getting caught for a crime, we would not have to "ask for death".
  2. Just confirming he sent me a SS of his /vehiclestats and it said it was in an apartment. He showed me it wasnt there, it wasnt in Mors, and my /avehiclestats said it was in Mors. Never seen this before. Couldnt figure out how to fix it, advised he make a bug report and /report for an SA+. Moderator Jasmine
  3. Not a bad idea. I'd maybe make it small, 12-18 slots, and 50 volume. Just enough to get new players by until they can get a stash car or 1G. And of course no illegal items allowed as its in an NCZ. That would be my only issue with it, is it could be abused to make it impossible for certain items to be stolen. Not a bad thing I guess, especially if its a small size stash.
  4. As long as it doesn't extend the 3 days on the lot, I think this is a good idea. I've had the situation you describe at least 3 times, take my car off to relist, and get "lot is full" due to the car desync bug.
  5. For minor infractions, staff can warn instead of punish, which avoid the ban. generally, from what I've seen, the bans are coming after multiple infractions. Yes, maybe the "straw that broke the camels back" was minor, but for instance, it takes 6 NRPs to get banned....it wasn't the one minor infraction, it was the series of 6 NRPs which were ignored then the player continues to break a rule. Bans are not always permanent. There is an appeal process, and many (even severe) DM bans are eventually lifted. if a player can't stop DMing, a 30 day break may be what is required to get them to adjust their behavior. As far as mistakes go - mistakes are taken into account, I have seen plenty of mistakes made that the decision was a warning, or a note on the account instead of a punishment at all. There is a system in place to avoid these types of bans for minor offenses, or mistakes. That aside, its hard for a staff member to distinguish between a mistake and intentional DMing. If breaks are given and Bans are not issued because it was claimed to be a mistake, everyone will just say it was a mistake. (like how we see constant "my bike was stolen from an NCZ" reports, thinking they will get their bike back without question. More times then not staff proves the bike wasn't in an NCZ.) Sadly, when some people see a certain excuse or defense gets you out of a punishment, some people will abuse that. So we have to go off the evidence, and overall behavior of the player involved, and not assumptions it might have been a mistake. (side note: when players fess up and say "damn my fault, yah I did it, sorry", staff does take that into account) Lastly - Your overall point is individual reports are being punished excessively. If you feel that is the case, the suggestion should be to adjust how we review and judge DMs and NRPs, rather then just wipe out all offenses. If staff is being unfair and handing out frivolous or unwarranted punishments, then that needs to be addressed. I personally don't see that as the case, in many cases rule-breaks are thrown out due to lack of evidence, or both parties settling things ICly. Particularly when it comes to DM#2 offenses.

  7. I actually disagree for one simple reason: The more you play the more you should know the rules. I see cases where people get a DM, then play gaining 500k XP (equivelent of 2000 hours played...) Then get a 2nd DM months or even a year later. In my opinion, they should know better... As we review cases, we take the history and experience of the player into account, and I don't think we should have a set rule whereby rule-breaks are just thrown out. I like the system how it is, where we can see the entire record, and based on all factors, award the appropriate punishment. In most cases this results in a 30-day break from the server (and maybe they need it, if they are DMing), then they appeal and continue on. The idea here is if you are a consistent, long term member of the community, you should be setting the example and not DMing. I don't think we should get breaks, instead we should be held to a higher standard the longer we play.

Although I agree it is NRP, I think it would be very difficult to enforce and keep consistent. As the terrain and vehicles are so varied, and it would be a lot to expect players or staff to do in-depth studies into exactly what the IRL versions of cars in-game can or can not do. So although I wish it was more realistic, I would not want to see a broad "never go off-road unless its a off-raod vehicle" rule applied. I think the rules as of now are at least consistent and enforceable (no stunt jumping and no vertical climbs). And we just have to wait for development improvements to come along.
  9. Although I understand its frustrating, I am not sure how you lost all of your money and items. When going on a courier job, only take a GPS. The money you get on the job goes straight to the bank, so it cant be stolen. For the mining job, that is inherently dangerous. And the large sum you get through mining is offset by the chance to be robbed. If you are getting robbed every time you go to the mines, either go with friends, or just don't do mining. Do the safer jobs. Ask around ICly for more tips to avoid this. If you are getting robbed 4 times in 1 hour, at most you should only have lost 4 GPSs. If you are playing it safe.
  10. If you are a fully legal citizen who refuses to ever engage in criminal activity, you will likely not go through 50 rounds very quickly. In what situation are you getting into regularly as a fully legal citizen where you are discharging your firearm constantly?
  11. As NCZs are designed as a safe place for legal citizens, this only makes sense. Watching Zetas circle the bank keeping others gangs trapped inside is just absurd, as gang members would not hang out in such places, and if they did, would not be permanently safe. I might even take it a step further, and say you can't go to an NCZ at all for 15 minutes after a crime or a chase resulting from crime. Another way this is abused is a player robs you or points guns at your and your friend/girlfriend...you want to take it into your own hands and grab some buddies to retaliate...and you find them in broad daylight taunting you at bank. Makes no sense.
  12. I like this for 2 reasons: 1) It helps solves the "he is always full!" issue. Giving another option to sell vehicles. (and in the process cut down on scams) 2) It encourages owners to be online and engage with other RPrs. (as long as this doesn't become a simple script command encouraging more offline-income) Could work like loans, where the owner has to be there to run the script. I think this type of interaction should even be expanded. Requiring owners (or hired employees the owners can hire) to engage with customers in order for any sales to happen. Anything to cut down on the Offline, passive income.
  13. 2. As I am sure you know, I am more than willing to dive full in on a police report. I see it as great roleplay, but also Jasmine likes to make connections in the PD. I do understand your point that most people don't bother, and don't want to "play the game" so to speak. At the same time, I tend to put in as much effort into a report as the PD wants me to. Most times (this is just my experience) they have little desire to do much, and don't want to take the time to investigate. Anytime I've been asked to provide more info, I have. And often stay on scene, sometimes over on hour, or even go to PD to the interview rooms. (Several of my YouTube videos support this). But yes, I get your point that it "takes two to tango", and this is not only a PD issue, civilians should do better too. 3. When I first joined the server, reactions to me were horrid. I can promise you just as bad, if not worse, then the reaction most PD get. I had a choice, either get angry and salty, and start acting like a bitch. Or..."be the change you want to see", and be overly nice and kind to everyone no matter how awful they were. This worked for me...it is very rare Jas is met with vulgarity, slurs, anger, or disgust anymore (and yes even before I was Staff I was treated quite well haha). I think people will react to you, dependent on how you treat and react to them. There is only 1 faction I am not always nice to. PD. And that is 100% a reaction to the way Jas is usually treated by the PD. It is a character development I did not plan or expect, it was a development that happened naturally ICly, based on how the PD behave. All this simply to say, even when everyone else is being mean, nasty and cruel to you, you should try to treat others as you want to be treated...even if its hard and they don't deserve it. There are PD Jas is nice to, and respects. But they have earned that reaction by treating Jas right.
  14. Yes, I use my foot and a knife. Requires zero ammo. When they change this, maybe I will agree with the suggestion. And strictly from an IRL -> RP standpoint, I agree its silly to have to buy a whole new gun to refill ammo. But until a lot of other things change (namely the ease at which guns/ammo can get into crims hands), this suggestion is not strictly an IRL -> RP change. The serial numbers on weapons is currently nearly useless in preventing handguns being used in crime.
  15. I just obtained 10 pistols full ammo. And have stockpiled plenty of weapons of every type. Just because the community sees me as civilian Jas. Does not mean I am clueless about crim activity, and particularly weapon sales. Thinking I am clueless about guns, imports, and crim activity just shows you don't know me well ICly. Yes, handgun ammo is hard to acquire, yes, its possible it needs to be adjusted. But lets be real, there are plenty of handguns out there, and they are not hard to get. Neither is ammo, I have no crim faction, just know some people, and can easily get ammo when I need it. My stance remains the same. I don't think the solution is ammo in guns stores. Even your own statement makes it clear the solution lies within the import system.... "nearly impossible with 3 gangs having access to it," "not to mention the cap on the ammo stock being set at around 100 I think?" Maybe that's the issue and the solution??
  16. Wow, thought provoking counterpoint. I never thought about it this way, very valid points you bring up here...
  17. If it had a action bar, requires you to stop driving, had a very visible animation that went with it, and only worked with pistols, sure. Otherwise this seems like a bit of a PG change. As getting a pistol out of a holster and into a glove box is not an immediate action IRL. PD should have a chance to catch you doing it.
  18. Yah this could be done by players, coordinated and planned. Speakers and voip can be used to make the music, organize cars and people to run the event. Get an event license, or ask someone in game who has one already to use theirs. With that you can run server-wide ads. Also place advertisements in the classified sections. You can get business owners to sponsor the event to cover costs, or run a raffle/auction/giveaway of some sort. If you were really into this idea, you can even get the ball rolling ICly, and if the event is planned and organized enough, you could get mod/admin support. Usually the big events run in the server by players (casino, bayviews events, Jasmines events) had at least Mod+ staff on site to assist things running smoothly and clear out any rule breakers quickly. I like your idea, and if youre passionate about it, go for it!
  19. I actually disgree for 3 reasons: 1) 50 rounds should be plenty for law abiding citizens. By the time a civilian has to fire 50 rounds (heres a hint, I've fired zero bullets in almost a year of play) its probably ok to have to spend 10k for a new weapon. Law abiding citizens shouldnt really need to buy ammo often, meaning this change really only benefits crims. 2) Pistol ammo can be sold for a decent price right now. I think this actually adds RP. It means pistols with rounds are actually valuable. And finding rounds to sell is actually worthwhile. 3) Rounds dont have serial numbers, and this would be rather easy to use to just fill up gangs pistol ammo. Legal citizens would have no risk in doing so, making this, again, more of a crim change. tl/dr: civilians should rarely have to refill ammo, if ever. This change only benefits crims, and currently pistol ammo supply/demand seems fine to me.
  20. Owners dont need to be further rewarded for AFKing for days/weeks and continue to collect passive income. Here's a better solution: when owners can't be bothered to fill their stations every once in a while, the station goes up for auction to the public. This is an RP community that is always evolving and benefits from ACTIVE players RPing on the server. When someone stops being active, their income should stop too. And others who are active should be given opportunities to replace them in the community.
  21. You can use IMGUR or YouTube and have virtually unlimited attachment potential.
  22. I think there are some situations where this is acceptable. For instance, RPing as a DJ. Or when you want to RP a speaker with specific songs/music types which aren't available for the scripted speakers. I agree, however, people standing at bank or driving through the streets in there cars shouting music through VOIP is NRP. You should be able to report these players, and have this behavior stopped if it is interfering with others RP. Adding a rule clarification to the NRP section could be a good option: "Using VOIP to stream music outside of realistic, sensible RP which does not interfere with other players ability to RP is considered NRP."
  23. I partially agree to this. Mainly because, there are players out there who are willing to put in significant time and effort into this job, and become more involved in everyday roleplay. They could be out there RPing and making things happen, and have an Admin who supports them with script/faction management. This is already happening to some extent at the casino, which is mostly run be a player, and she is supported by a admin faction leader to help with faction management and scripting. Within the government, a lot of the business work is being done by a player as well. And she is supported by the faction leader. I think a voted/elected/or even appointed player official could help bring the gov faction out to the public, and push gov/civ/pd interactions, and also lessen the burden on the faction leader. The faction leader can focus on script/faction management, and the player official can put in the hours/work/effort needed, undistracted by admin/faction duties. You could even have a mayor/city commissioner team. Many city have 4-5 commissioners, and within those elected officials, one serves as mayor, others serve as vice-mayor etc. This way, the faction leader can still maintain control, but allow a player official to help with engagement in everyday roleplay.
  24. Although I agree with most of what is being said here, and I also agree the OP was venting about a poor player experience of being new to the city and not taking appropriate precautions to avoid robberies. Something that he will likely learn to do with IC knowledge and experience. I do have a few suggestions that I think would improve PD RP. As I do NOT think PD RP is excellent, it is good, and certainly there are some amazing PD RPrs, there are some trends I see what tend to negatively effect my RP experience as a civilian: 1) Stop having 3, 4, or 10 cruisers flying through the city all chasing one comet retro or other fast sports cars....or anyone for that matter. - This is so unrealistic and put civilians in danger. You do not see cop chases like this often IRL. Sometimes you see many cruisers chasing 1 car up a highway, but you will never see 6-7 cruisers flying through city streets after a single car. - There is a limited number of PD, and as such when every one of them chases 1 car, other criminals are free to have a party and go looting civilians. I have literally watched civilians see a chase, and say out loud "cool they'll be busy a while, let go robbing". 2) Stop being complete jerks to civilians. - I get you are RPing, but why does it seem the majority of cops all RP being rude cops? Not all cops act this way to civilians. - It is frustrating being a civilian, and calling PD, to then be threatened to be arrested because you are upset about being robbed. - Attempt to collect evidence, or try to get the stolen property back. (or at least pretend to!) IRL, if I make a report of being robbed or carjacked, their is zero chance the officer is gonna just say "yo you got evidence? no? then I'm out aint shit I can do." PD should be just as eager (at least RPly) to catch these guys as the civilian. At least get a description, take a report, and call it in. Who knows? you might even catch them. - Again, there are some really cool, amazing PD RPrs out there, but I think a bit of culture change could go a long way in making all of them amazing. 3) Talk to civilians, stop slowly rolling by to search me in your MDC and drive off. - This doesn't happen IRL. PD in big cities (I lived in NYC 5 years) are actually very personable to civilians in the streets. It is common to see an officer or two at an intersection just talking to civilians. They do it to build rapport, and to gain information. - Not everyone on the server is a criminal. Just because I stop at a store with a friend doesn't mean we are going to rob it. Stop and RP having a coffee and talk to them. Maybe they can tell you about the robbers who just left there if you asked? That's it for now. I am sure I can come up with more, but those are the ones I see a lot which bother me. I do agree with the OP, that calling PD rarely results in getting my car back, or getting the robbers arrested. Unfortunately, I call 911, but then immediately call my gang friends, who are much better at retrieving stolen property and catching up to criminal. They also just seem to care more about protecting civilians who have friendly ties with them. It really shouldn't be this way, but it is.
  25. Thanks!! I need to update it.....a LOT has happened since! Haha.
