  1. Boom Boom looks awesome guys, GL with everything.
  2. This is a good point to make, so your main debate is concerned with where actually does RP begin and end vs the ability to KOS under the current ruleset? 1. RP starts when you enter the server (if you take 1 Zeta member hostage IMO then you ought to be KOS by anyone willing to shoot you) . The Zeta and Triads (Random Examples) might RP having a "Defence Pact" with each other should a member of either gang need help. Now, with this news being general news than by taking either a Zeta or Triad member hostage then IMO that warrants others having KOS on you, otherwise, if the player is forced to Re=engage with more RP at the time, then this throws away all the group RP that was previously established between the Zeta and Triads and its the same when at war, IMO in the situation, you have provided then the argument ought to be that the RP has already begun, the RP began as soon as they took someone at gunpoint, they don't know that person friends, if they a cop, gangster, are meeting someone there already or anything, the moment they raise a weapon to someone they ought to be open to KOS from, good samaritans, friends, and family of the victim/hostage, friendlies of the hostage coming to help, the police randomly passing by. This debate feeds into debates that have been had before surrounding KOS. IMO, if you join a gang for example, then you should be worried constantly about the growing threat of enemies. If 2 groups, say The Rebels and Seaweed decide to go to WAR, like official war at the leadership level, then that is all the RP that ought to be needed. by being a member of either gang your current state of RP is at WAR and therefore I do not believe is necessary to reengage with more RP on the scene as this leads to a lot of very very situational reports flooding the forum. Its almost like you give a verbal warning of "hands up" which translates more to (how far away am I from the person shouting commands, is the window up/down, what speed am I going, can I retaliate without being reported.......) For Official factions such as the Zeta and Triads and with more stringent membership requirements and authorization from admin applied onto smaller gangs including a verified membership number and names list then this KOS between gangs can be effective). But essentially the point you raise is a good one, it is certainly one that needs a revisit to help improve and maintain organically occurring firefights whilst helping to decrease the number of situational reports being submitted - evident in the two and fro nature of many reports. Overall, very touchy subject, 100% will always be getting revised and revisited. Cheers, GLHF
  3. you changed this line in your bio "SeaWeed are gangsters at heart" it use to say "rebels at heart" - i prefer the previous version Good thread though GL
  4. You agree with boredom and there is not enough to do, but you think "making them (criminal activities)" more "complicated...is [not] the solution", yet you acknowledge the lack of "depth" in what criminals can do? I would argue its probably both. I mean, yes I was arguing for more depth but yes but as you say there should also be a broader range as well i listed 3 things also above : "1. The wanted could dispose of police cars and export them at the Docks. 2. The Triads could get a "Made in Asia" perk or reduced price on guns imports. 3. The Rebels (dead now) could have gotten a custom "The Rebels" leather jacket (as they dont care for guns)" The middle one is the only real perk, the first one is something "MORE" for crims to do - think of it as similar to a tool which only certain people may have, a tool used to gain access to people homes which would also constitute as being a perk, but tbf, being a faction comes with perks, and rightly so. The third was just cosmetic. What would you actually suggest? what jobs or activities, tweaks or suggestions? Money laundering? Drug dealing?
  5. Next time a gov faction opens recruitment, don't do it all on the website, do a job fair upstairs in the bank or somewhere people often visit, have admin place a table and chairs and as the first part of their application ask people to come for a chat at the desk, you then "hand them" the application form IC and they go and fill it in OOC. Just a little bit of immersion ya know
  6. +1 good suggestion, also, Block anonymized numbers if needed and yeah the bank notification, I've made 2 different suggestions for them to get rid of it, it does not serve a single purpose apart from to promote Poor RP. It really needs to go, I hate that thing way more than I should do. lol at least make the notification an opt in system. so if those players want to see it, they can.
  7. yes but that is all RP, what happens when one crew hoards all the heavies, the smaller gangs get together and take them out - in primates, the alpha is never the strongest or fastest, it is the one who can maintain relationships with the group. The original suggestion does need more considering, as right now, you become a faction and then kinda just have to start selling weapons, this means you have like 20 boys running around selling weapons. There SHOULD be a monopoly on guns, it should be controlled by a single actor or two tops for competition purposes, in any major city there are never multiple weapons syndicates there is always the main importer, drugs are different but the illegal weapons market is highly exclusive. To add to the suggestions 1. The wanted could dispose of police cars and export them at the Docks. 2. The Triads could get a "Made in Asia" perk or reduced price on guns imports. 3. The Rebels (dead now) could have gotten a custom "The Rebels" leather jacket (as they dont care for guns) But you are right, there 100% needs to be more for factions to do, this is evident in the number of gang members just stood at the bank or behind it, there is obviously a lack of inspiration for some of the big guys to RP. By limiting their available resources you kinda force interaction between the major groups. Now a lot of people would say that "forced interaction" on an RP server is bad, but your comment is tailored around heightening the RP quality on the server so anyone with this argument against you missed the point IMO. "so what do you do now you have joined xxxxxxx" "not much tbf mate, I got a guy who sells me a gun and I just sell them on" This was said to me at the bank when I asked them what else they did they said - "not much mate, answer a backup call every now and then but apart from that not much" This guy had reached the endgame of money-making within a few weeks of being on the server, his gang imported guns, so that's what he did, oh and "fuck with the cops". Collectively, there really needs to be more creativity between criminals and civilians, its a good sight seeing the newly created Farmers and Truckers Union, finally, omeone is doing something IC about the constant wave of unorganized crime and muggings
  8. With the number of other suggestions where an IC admin role is needed there really should be some form of employment at the government building - *listing houses *chaning company names *changing licence plate *changing ownership of vehicles and houses *Paying off fines to the DVLA *any other admin work that benefits from IC immersions and RP. This could just be another role for the City Hall (future possible faction) staff to do, they could get a job and sit at the desk waiting for people, just like the mechs do.
  9. Overall this is a neat suggestion, there was also a clothing drop off suggestion not too long ago to decrease the amount of clothing found on the streets, maybe this can all be done under the same "recycling center" or "charity or thrift store". Someone stated earlier that it would increase robberies, I mean, this is true, it would increase robberies, but only a little bit, to the point where it isn't that noticeable tbf, I mean, hunting increased robberies when that was introduced - creating any hotspot will always increase robberies in that area, there are only so many criminals so that just means that somewhere else would get safer. The more hotspots for thieves to roam between the more safer they all become as criminals become stretched thin. So yeah, might increase robberies by the tiniest little bit, but it's far better than having to just despawn rods on the floor, imo. +1 for immersion +1 for job types and character development +1 for CONTENT,
  10. i am only just now discovering the "calender", and yeah, its cluttered with random stuff. Probs best to have an events page which then staff input the"approved" events onto the calender maybe?
  11. +1 great discussion and i think you are right, somethings ought to change but you just need to rebalance your idea, imo. 1. you suggest - "/rob would allow you to steal their credit card and withdraw 1000-3000 dollars in the next 10 minutes" this is a good idea with the"debit/credit card, however, you need to flip it on its head. You don't give them a 10-minute window, cause they will just fly straight there, withdraw it then rinse and repeat. It would be far better if the criminal were not allowed to withdraw for the next 30 minutes. (rebalance the time, if needed). This gives the victim time to react to the robbery as they might be left with no phone or car and thus 10minutes, as you suggest is just a free ticket to make money from the account. TBF, if credit cards, in this way, were introduced, it would make more sense to create another location where only credit cards/debit cards can be used a) This results in "yeah yeah I got robbed, they got my card the bastards, but don't worry, they only have 20 minutes left to use it, and we know where they are going" b) This provides more RP for both criminal and victim as they both have to scope out the money laundering spots - this could be in several spots, takes 8 minutes (rebalance) to complete and could have the same/similar scripting to the Chopshop locations. c) have the card be an actual lootable item, another thief could steal it from them d) or possible a cooldown on the card, cash it within 30 minutes get 2k, anytime after that you get 1k, but, you can do multiple cards at once, so a thief can, take the risk of the owner being on their case, or continue to rob many people and cash the cards in together? This may too just create a culture of robbing people, who know just my input. 2. You end with highlighting the biggest problem - "but it should be within moderation of the player to understand when they are committing a robbery and when they're removing potential threats such as a gun or taking their radio/phone to prevent backup. " a) how would scripts know if I'm searching someone for security reasons, or if I'm robbing them? What about framing a person and putting a gun on them? It seems cooldown on player actions are bad but cooldowns on items usability after being robbed is where the balancing and security issues are with the suggestion. For example, can i rob someone, and force them to frisk my friend at gunpoint, would this ruin their ability to rob people. Overall its a neat suggestion and aspects of it should be paid close attention to, but as mentioned by other, scripts that directly impede RP on a one to one basis tend to be damaging to immersion and creativity, however, ou highlight a concern shared by quite a few I would suspect, that people OUGHT/SHOULD value the RP of robbing a person and the consequences that come with it. ~Good feed, GLHF.
  12. Hey mate this may be down to the recent update. If you go to the Official Eclipse discord server then you may find people around to help you, I know a lot of people having trouble recently, especially if they bought GTA on Social. GLHF
  13. +1 this would be great for immersion and overall gameplay. Great suggestion, hope it gets looked at
  14. This is what I gave The Rebels and it seems to work for all of them. **Everyone try and get AHK. This will allow you to change the N and M buttons to something else. If you rebind to your mouse 4 and 5 buttons then you are able to run, move, communicate and aim freely** **Use the below thread for more information.** 1. Download AHK https://www.autohotkey.com/ 2. Right-click desktop - new - AutoHotKey Script 3. Right-click the newly created document and click edit script 4. Copy and paste this below into the text box XButton2::n return XButton1::m return 5. Make sure to run as admin. GLHF
  15. If this has been mentioned many times before then what has been the reception from admin? is there a reason as to why it has not been implemented?
  16. +1 The use of outfits could have a huge benifit to the RP available, like you say it would only add immersion. Good suggestion.
  17. oh ok fair enough, I just figured the impact was felt IC, it could b treated, playfully, as an IC issue, the 24 hours issued to someone is sure as hell an IC issue. I believe a lot can be done IC that can heavily influence outside of the game? i mean, they want people to stop robbing citizens, so what should criminals do, they should rob literally everyone who is not gang affiliated, see how long the changes stay in place for when no one can enter or leave the bank.
  18. This is the biggest excuse for the big guys to really start coming together, planning things out and changing the city. There are numerous ways to fuck this system up that much IC that they are forced to change it. the combined might of The Council needs to react to this. Why cant we attempt to fix this in-game?
  19. can we report cops from driving up mountains at angles of around 45%, then doing ridiculos non-rp jumps whilst pursuing me? edit : with footage ofc
  20. so the goal is to decrease the chances of criminals carrying out flippant high extreme crimes with little regard for the consequences? well, the introduction of the new prison system kinda stops that, criminals have to watch more around corners, ensure they haveenought time for things which were once instan, all are positive. However, a monetary fine = in percentage to your overall wealth would be a much better option. 1. its not an unhealthy request to ask of players
