  1. +1 great suggestion. To expect people to sit afk for more than anything of like 8 hours is unhealthy. 18+ minimum this server right, cause it would be super damaging to anyone younger. not a nice move. not a nice thing to ask supporters of the server to do, the increased time 100% misses the mark, you want people on the streets for more RP but you want them to be punished also right, well, why do people commit crimes, for money ofc, make the fines ridiculous but get the criminals back on the streets, people will just download an Autoclicker and get around the prison time thing, it won't increase RP at all, all it will do is decrease the number of people and interactions there are in the city.
  2. ive been trying to arrange a race on that track for a while now but no one seems interested, and yes there is a rail guard, however Destruction Derby, i think itll be fun watching a bunch of warreners fly around the track and try to make it through the small gateway, get 2 cars in colours, one from each faction, then a few independant racers, get some speakers, taco vendors, job done. ive spoke to major gangs about it but no onw was interested, good luck doing it mate
  3. I made a suggestion about removing the script which displays the Bank opening and closing time, I mean, it did change, now I just get a text. I meant to remove it, like totally, it serves no purpose but to decrease RP. For every new player that joins the server, even asking around about things is RP enough some times. Why would you give players 1 less reason to iinteract? Just let the scrips go guys, its neat, but it just fail RP and immersion breaking. no need for it. cheers
  4. i just lostb 3 members of my crew to this update. most seems decent but i have family men, guys with lives and families, they cant play anymore to just be AFK in prison for hours, which people will just download an Autoclicker for anyways. like i say most of the update is decen, even adds to the immersion but not the prison time bits
  5. yeah just add it as a downloadable app which costs money instead, like for x amount of IRL hours you have access. after that you "re-download" the app. This could even be a JOB within the city and work like taxi and citybee. Just find an electronics shop, good location, high traffic volume, when a player is at their job and on Duty then to get the app "set up" you need to visit the local electronics store. If there is no one On-Duty then revert to another system, easy ya know, like if x then x and just have players approach desk, ring bell and auto download the "app" Just whatvere you do, do not put the mini map back into the game as it was. it was mmersion breaking.
  6. why are there players running around who hace access to faction mechanics when they no longer bel;ong to that faction or the faction has been disbanded. this is really unfair. the group in question don't even have a forum thread yet they have access to faction mechanics can someone explain why?
  7. Thank you for your response. You raise some great points and i hope that the system gets the attention it requires and your points are taken on board. Ill have to visit prison a few more time to get a vibe of the place more. For now, though, just a few product placements would make a huge difference. 1. The addition of mining. Exactly the same as the mines but in a different location. Build a cage in the desert and tele prisoners there from the prison after entering a marker located inside the prison. Here they can work off their speeding fines and other monetary fines (correct balaning and % of payout would need to be discovered) a) people could come and laugh at the prisoners, people or friends of prisoners could try to sneak them something in, its the guards job to stop them, this gives everyone just more RP. Either the prisoners have ways to entertain themselves and create RP inside prison, or we place prisoners in situatons where they provide rp for other. 2. A poker table. allow prisoners to play poker and build up an amount of money. However, this is only prison money and may only be used towards prison things (bribing guards, getting free from solitary, increasing the newly implemented mining rate so not paying off fines at decreased rates. a) So you play poker, earn enough prison points or prison rep points, you are then able to get things into prison. This if this as a credit you earn where you can spend these credits at a Payphone on the prison wall which you contact people and get them to smuggle stuff into prison (scripted or RP) either way its more content (These can then be used for escape and roleplay scenarios). 3. Prison jobs, sweeping floors, mopping up, these jobs have a drop percentage for certain items. (just a thought) - these items could be items only obtainable from prson "prison shank" "prison hooch" - some one could buy beer for everyone and everyone could get pissed in a cell togeher **These are not solutions but rather meaningful workarounds until a better system in implemented**
  8. sorry, i meant is there a permanent way to silence the speakers, all speakers, forever. i may not have been clear. My issue is that I do not find it good RP to have to pull up to a store when I am about to rob it, and then have to stand outside and turn 2 speakers down. it's just silly, music blasting everywhere. The argument against this is that one could just simply walk away from the speakers. This is easier said than done and is very situational. The argument I'm making is that speakers ought t be lowered by default when placed so that it is not as loud when you first approach it. If someone wants to listen to music then it should be on low then you have the option to turn it up. It is kinda wrong for players to have to turn it down if they don't like it. That is just the wrong way around, 1. Speakers are set to 0 by default, players have the option to turn the music up if they want to see what is on, 2. Only only speaker allowed within 20 meters of each other, ist just spam after so much of going from garage to garage or from shop to shop and having to turn them all down. It just slows rp, in a command-driven game why do I have to yet enter more commands, if you want to go listen to music then turn it up for you, but dont have it so loud when placed, have it on, just turn it down by 50%. and the ganking thing i meant, you could place speakers. and when people turn them down for the first time yu have around a 3-4 second advantage over them where they cant hear much, wont be using comms and are busy typing. another argument against this is that "nah bro, it's fine, it doesn't affect me" - this is just a terrible argument, it means you would not really notice the added change, whereas the person who does notice this would benefit massively. If the speakers were the same volume for everyone at every time then I might not suggest this as strongly, but because i can roll up to a garage and have loud music playing, whilst someone else (who got there earlier and who has turned down the speaker) has the gameplay advantage of both time, by not having to type, and by hearing, as the speaker volume is localized. - decrease default speaker volume when placed - only 1 speaker in xx amount of radius ( roughly 20m)_
  9. is there a way to permanently silence speakers or to decrease their default volume? I'm constantly pulling up to places and having to write /speaker to or 3 times, whats the deal? it just slows down the gameplay, leads to people using them to gank people. Ive never tunred up to a bank in my how the town and had to turn down the speakers, just have the default on like 2. This is a serious breach of RP. slows the game, breaks immersion and is leaving people in the open ready to be ganked,. **Edited for corrections** Added suggestion - at the very least ad the command /sv for speaker volume atm i have to literally type /speakerv every time as there are several speaker commands.
  10. You suggest meaningful RP. I think you would be surprised how unfulfilling a world with no or very little threat would be. Citizens RP is increased with the chances of theft at any time, and its the same for the criminals, they both need each other. What you suggest is 6-8 hours worth of prison time. This is almost an entire days work IRL. Logistically and to keep the game entertaining I believe this is just an unrealistic amount of time to ask someone to stay in prison. You highlight problems why simply increasing prison times is not enough, I ask you if everyone is in prison for up to 8 hours, who are creating RP opportunities on the streets. By placing so many into a confined, NON-RP driven environment you would actually be damaging the server IMO, the goal is to hand out punishments that fit the crime whilst allowing the player to return to active RP out of prison as soon as possible. A citizen on the street can create more RP than when in prison. Also, imagine, you work all week, you want to play, but you waste your entire Saturday AFK on GTA 5 RP, I mean, it's just not realistic or healthy for that matter. IMO you miss the point with civilian RP, why can't civilians Dand together and 1. Riot for more police to improve things 2. take action themselves 3. employ security firms (there are people trying to get these security firms off the ground right now because of the gangs, what you suggest would remove their need to do so) 4. civilians could at least start to form unions and coalitions of small independent mining jobs and operations, (just have a small crew, one on foundry, one on the mine, every time someone leaves the mine, they radio the description of the vehicle to those at the foundry, this provides a clue as to who should be turning up at the foundry or not, those that didn't leave the mine and yet turn up at foundry ought to be treated with suspicion). The civilian RP opportunities due to increased gang activity are actually heightened and not diminished as you would suggest. Remove the threat of gangs to as higher level as you suggest would certainly remove a lot of the appealing substance the server has which attracts new and returning players. Just my thought mate. Good to see a live active thread good job guys
  11. This is a great thread. Good work mate. Just keep in mind though guys. Removing the AFK timer and asking players to be present for 3 hours with very little to do is a bit mean. Implementing a system which they have to do is also mean. . Removing the AFK timer is just a bad idea. Even when there is stuff to do in prison people should still be able to go into their cells and serve their prison time in peace. We shouldn't force someone to work in the kitchens or anything. I think that you have some great ideas though and the tiered system is the best Ive heard so far. I make the suggestion of specifically targeting members of faction gangs and allocate then a higher prison time. This would be RP by "gangs damaging the community and disrupting order within Los Santos" There should be a legal draw back to being in a gang. Yes you get more protection on the streets, more back up and such but the law doesn't appreciate your gang activities and thus gives a harder sentence". Target faction members first with newer systems and use then as a testing for the changes . Just my input.
  12. +1 Anything to make the game faster and easier to navigate deserves introducing.

    Group Funds

Neat. That makes it easier to implement for everyone else. Just call it a Joint Bank Account. Maybe others want to have the opportunity to do this also. Such a basic thing should not be open to only those within factions (curious to know % of player base that is in factions? New city role - Bank Teller By paying £10,000 NON-Faction players can join with others to contribute towards a shared fund. This can be achieved by visiting the newly created role at an appropriate location. To cover maintenance costs a small administration fee of £1000 (Rough guess, open to change) can be introduced to help cover costs and employee fees. Benefits. Greater player sense of building/continuity/accomplishment New Government Role Disadvantages ???
  14. Admin logs on and places 5 cars in an area, people have to find the contents of the car. (Weazel - News) "and today in other news a shipment of 5 rare cars was stolen, police have traced the cars to *insert name* but have yet to locate the vehicles" ^just a quick example. Super easy super effective. Would take an admin like 10 mins to do but could provide hours of fun for citizens. could be run at the discretion of the admin. To have even less work for admin, just do the event whenever you got the time. it's just an added little bonus.
  15. 5 teams of 2, a team from each faction, all race in the same car. Destruction Derby style. There is a track, north of the city, stand for people to watch the race, sell food there, sell drugs there, weapons, etc, police could man the event, gangs can have their own car colors, we could have security, private races, car show out front, entrance fees, racing fees, etc etc This could be legal or illegal it doesn't matter. This would need admin involvement, it's just asking too much for players to fund these things on their own. it just won't attract the level of attention needed. Any feedback would be a help.

    Group Funds

Introduce Group Funds. The ability for a small group to contribute funds towards a single account. So when you approach to deposit at ATMs you can select where to deposit, same with withdrawal. Possibly have this account accessible by all members, certain roles, whatever. Just somewhere where people can get a group sense of accomplishment, they then can buy houses together.
  17. Yeah very true, I had not considered your first point, this alone kinda debunks my theory on its own. Your added critiques only strengthen your argument. I understand also about the RP side of the business and how one could theoretically get a business up and running in the game, through simple RP. However, the external facilities of discord, which has numerous channels, the website (outdated and minimalistic guides on basic game mechanics), and then having PD on TS3 just makes everything non-succinct and convoluted. To engage properly with those businesses already on the forums and to ensure then that they garner the traction needed then I would suggest a revisiting of the way that information is displayed externally out of the game. Make it easier for players to understand then the limits of the factions and where they can expect there RP to lead them given the available scripts. I've only managed to learn what I know of the game so far through active forum engagement and at times it has not been easy to navigate the structure supporting Eclipse. Basic things are just not completed. To keep a system of business as is today Eclipse should then recognize that current facilities and modes of advertisement and player interaction may need an overhaul. Only to promote more GP. This could be simple things such as increasing the layout or organization of the website. Creating an External Eclipse IC website. The IC website could house everything that should be found in-game however which cannot. Order cars here, upload images of houses, create stories. Similar to the in-house IC section on the current site. Apart from you won't have to scroll through page after page to find info on people, places and locations, business, faction, business opportunities, celebrities, races, everything, everything. There is no point having #fashion for example in the discord alone when the IC section is on the website. Just make things more succinct, accessible and attractive for now then instead I guess would be my follow to the suggestion. NB: For anyone who has ever played EVE ONLINE, what would you guys suggest in having a corporation style system of governance where each and every player has to be part of a group. NPC or Player created corporations in EVE provide a systemic way to control and promote player interaction, and ultimately RP.
  18. I'm considering joining several gangs but I'm unsure who you are referring to?
  19. This is a suggestion to add more business into the game introducing a business ownership cap of 2. There is no reason to have only a single tier of progression. You get to "buy" a business, that's it. Why don't we have multiple levels of business at least? I've mentioned this in other posts but thought it deserved its own post. You own a barber shop for example, you must run a successful tier 1 business (rated either on time of ownership, % of available stock over a certain time, ie, how well you have operated the store, or measured against a different variable (any suggestions)), before being allowed to apply for a tier 2 business and so on and so on. The trick would be to introduce business that offer a upgrade from the current business available in game. This would give mega rich and experienced players something more to do. (This would hopefully bring more life back into the server). Once the experienced players have saved enough money they can now apply for a newly created tier 4 business. But that's it, if they want to own another tier 4 businesses they have to apply for a tier 1 business and start the process over however there would be a lengthy cooldown before applying for a second business license. This gives others the opportunities and stops this newly adopted business scheme from being immediately monopolized by the mega-rich. I think this process will allow experienced players more opportunity to revisit the game, give them something more to do and will encourage RP throughout the server. Any player who currently has enough money for a business, but has, however, found themselves unavailable to purchase a business may now have the opportunity to do so. Lastly, newer players (not new players, but newer players, not fresh of the boat immigrants but those players that have tried a lot of what the in-game scripts have to offer and who fancy more from their time in the city), for those new players may also now be able to purchase the smaller business and work there way up. This is not an attack on the mega-rich and is meant only as a suggestion to bring more interaction between players, provide more business opportunities and incentives to players to work towards collective goods and who will ultimately continue returning to play on Eclipse. Please guys, if you decide this is a -1, give me feedback. Cheers!
  20. why even bother to comment? why is it a -1 from you?
  21. yeah, fair play makes sense. Best to keep criminals out of it then. Good point.
