Remove Automatic Weapon Use from Vehicles

Topic Summary: Disable the ability to use any automatic weapons from a vehicle, for both drivers and passengers seats. Only allow Semi-auto hand guns from cars. Only allow semi-auto rifles from a helicopter.

There has been a long standing issue on the server of people abusing shooting automatic weapons from a vehicle due to the fact that there is no gun recoil when shooting an automatic weapon. This has created a new meta tactic where gun fights commonly become drive-by shootings rather than proper shootouts because you can have the cover of the vehicle, stay moving to make it hard to be hit or chase your target, and have no recoil to easily shoot out someone else's vehicle tires, or shoot them directly. Since the introduction of the drive-by script changes that allow for the driver of a vehicle to shoot, it has only made this problem worse.

I suggest that only allowing semi-auto weapons such as the Pistol .50, SNS pistol, Pistol Mk II, and any other semi auto handguns would solve this issue. This would still allow for RP of drive-by shootings to occur, but it would remove the meta strategy of using drive-by shootings as your primary tool for a shootout as "the best option". 

This would also apply to helicopters. The same lack of recoil can be seen when shooting from the side of a helicopter creating a less than ideal interaction between Law Enforcement and criminals where the lack of recoil combined with a large magazine firearm such as a Combat MG can be used to spray bullets at a vehicle to destroy it or shoot people down with ease. I suggest we only allow semi auto weapons from the helicopter as well such as a marksman rifle or sniper rifle to still allow for capability to take down hostile aircraft if needed.

driveby fights are fun unless you're loosing, maybe adding the recoil would help balance it at least but theres no real reason to completely remove the auto guns

huge +1, drivebying with autos is just no fun in anyway for anyone involved, people doing it find it boring, people receiving it ofc find it boring, semi autos are plenty

This is like the only server u can use autos in a car and have third person drive by with it. Every other server realised its OP takes no skill and is shit way to fight. It needs to be made no autos or everyone has to go first person including passengers.

passengers need to be forced to first person, but straight up removing the ability would be dumb. it would just turn into whoever gets out of their car first wins.

get rid of the driveby , it cost 0 skill to sit behind car and spray, and especially with this new 3rd person BUG , i bet you a dime every single person that is drivebying as a driver is doing this bug.... its just not fun, and it cost 0 skill. 

Lets start having proper fun, were your skills are required f.e. hopping out your damn car to fight someone, not just sitting in ur car and abusing the 3rd perspective driveby lel

Ever since the addition of driveby mechanics, I've rarely seen a gun fight happen outside of vehicles. It feels as if the "meta" now is stay in your car, drive in circles, buy a car that has no windows, and come with 1000 bullets in your AP Pistol - I can confidently say this is the worst state fighting in ECRP has been, I think ever, even 2019 fighting where dead bodies would stand up I think had a better experience.

Disable driver shooting entirely

Force first person on passengers

Disable Full Auto weapons in cars

Add recoil

Disable tasers from vehicles

Simple fix. Force first person and fix the bug that allows you to avoid it.

I don't know what fights you're looking at, but I just looked at every active player report on the forums, and from those that include shootouts literally all of them was someone on foot and not drive-bying other than the kon report which started the prior suggestion about drive-bying.

I'm not gonna argue with you here I don't think it's appropriate but I will say this - While you've cherry picked a few videos from reports, none of these are the types of fights that the dozens of people above you are complaining about.

The majority of these are situations that have stemmed from a lab, a chase, or with the police. None of these are the types of fight people are complaining about.

This community will never cease to amaze me, after a long time yesterday I was like hey let me make a cheeky video cause it was funny how we were drivebying while doing donuts and yet again we always jump to the negative side of things. Never again.

I've been in shootouts, first of all ladies and gentlemen there's rules in place for drivebying so you can always report people not respecting them. Second of all usually it starts of driveby then people hop out and shoot it out. I really don't get people exaggerate to the infinity and beyond?

I don't necessarily agree that it should be removed entirely but recoil should be added and it should be quite a lot of recoil. We are playing an RP server at the end of the day; every gun should have recoil.
