  1. Or perhaps they're more creative with their thinking instead of looking at everything black and white hoping to have "roleplay" handed to them on a silver platter. Prison improvements are coming, but the experience will only improve if players are willing to (hear me out, I know it's crazy...) roleplay!

  6. Hey, So to conclude this, we have implemented a system that ensures players are aware of why they are muted. No longer will you be left asking questions of why you may be muted and having to message multiple staff to get an answer. Also, timeouts are appealable but we ask that you only appeal timeouts of 1 day or longer unless you feel the issuing staff member did so maliciously or incorrectly in which case you can either appeal or message myself or another member of Admin Management to review it fully. Staff members will be required to give proper reasoning for timeouts also and follow guidelines that are in place. Thank you for the suggestion!

  9. Firstly, appreciate the feedback and response. I can't say I have noticed it personally. I was under the impression it was actually less than it used to be. If you have any examples of misuse of this tactic then please forward some context and evidence and I'll review it. But like @AnnoyingOne said, if they are getting you out for a search etc, then it is done with probable cause so I'd assume there is more context, and if not it would potentially be misconduct that should be reported. I have no say over SD and their operation/tactics. But I do appreciate the positive feedback about PD. We also enjoy the chases and we see no value to anyone by ending them prematurely. The ironic thing is, very few people in PD actually enjoy the arrest procedure, so it benefits everyone to be more open to leniency and less escalating. If you have any evidence, or further context, please report this as it is not something we stand for and if this is happening it should be addressed. The casefiles exist for MNC and they are actively updated. The majority of members in GND are not in MNC and do not have criminal alts.
  10. Ash, my man...if you fail to recognise change due to your blind sighted vision of what you feel should be happening, I don't know what to tell you. We have adapted a lot to the community we find ourselves in in 2025. You are a 'veteran' of the community, so I ask that you cast your memory back to 2021 and how intense gang suppression was from both PD and SD - that's almost unheard of these days even if you are one of the most violent gangs on the server. The LSPD faction has self regulated so much, that in many situations now we are seen simply as NPCs there to enhance your roleplay without any consideration for the players in the LSPD faction and their enjoyment. We are tirelessly working to adapt and match the current environment - are you? You can preach all the scary headlines all you want - "Cops have access to a banshee!" "Cops have 150AP!" "Cops have MK2 weapons!" but then you fail to understand the regulations and limitations of use. The banshee can only be used against a list of 12 vehicles - all of which out perform the Banshee PD has as PD are limited on the modifications. And deployment of the Banshee is not allowed to be precautionary and can only be deployed after a situation has escalated to the point needed it. If a crim Niobe (for example) is pulled over and is suspected to evade soon, the Banshee can't even be driven out of the garage until the pursuit starts, at which point that cop likely won't catch up if the evading party is smart with their actions. 150AP is only available to less than 20% of the total roster (of 114 people), and of that 20%, it can only be used for specific circumstances and not general patrol. Cops do have many different weapons, but again heavily regulated by rank and situation. You don't become a cadet and get handed an MG, you have to work hard, prove ability to follow regulations for (on average) 2-3 months, until you get your hands on any "heavy" weapons at all which at that point is the pump shotgun which again is heavily regulated situationally. The LSPD faction does all this while trying to stay as true to lore as possible, can the same be said for the other side? Or maybe some self-reflection is necessary to consider why your interactions with PD appear negative, and if they are, is it due to them responding proportionally to your own actions, or was it actually something malicious - in which case you should report it to faction leadership, or via IA, something I note you have not done. The only comment of note I have picked up in the responses since your initial flame post was regarding the heli and deployment to certain situations and where restrictions could be placed in circumstances where a heli reasonably does not (yet) make sense to be overhead. We will happily take this away to review and consider, but please remember that the LSPD faction is reactive to your action - if a heli is overhead, 9 times out of 10 it's because it's genuinely needed to be there and is reasonable for it to be so.
  11. This has been fixed in a recent patch.

  14. Anyone, even OOC terminations, are free to apply for reinstatement. Sometimes you would have to use a different character (due to criminal charges etc) but each circumstance gets discussed case by case. Being OOCly terminated for any reason is never a blacklist from the faction, unless you are explicitly told they. But those instances are extremely rare (RWT, transfers, equipment advise etc) and I have only ever seen them imposed with a server ban also
  15. This was one of the main issues I had to consider. Not all of GND are taking part in criminal RP, it’s about half. Any RP that involves enforcement against their gang would be off limits to anyone in it, I’m also considering making a separate area that they wouldn’t even have access to view. They would still be prone to gang enforcement just as other gangs are. But you should notice that the general severity and scrutiny of gang enforcement has dropped a lot in the past month to allow for players to have a little more breathing room across the board. Like I said in my post, I will be keeping a close eye on this and if I notice the balance of enforcement not be equal, changes will have to be made. For now I’d like to see it play out and see how it goes.
  16. To add to this, we would love for more people who don’t have any experience in law enforcement roleplay to try us out and be part of our team. Therefore, we have removed the ratio requirement of playtime from our recruitment regulations. You will still be expected to meet the minimum hours of 2.5 hours per week, but you will no longer be mandated to play 50% of your total playtime across all characters on your PD character. This is because concerns were raised by people who would be interested in giving LEO RP a go, but didn’t want that to negatively impact their “main” criminal character. This will hopefully break down that barrier. To be clear though, if you eventually progress into a position of authority, or limited vacancies within the faction, a ratio requirement would be enforced, but potentially not as extreme as 50/50. This would be a case by case basis depending on the assignment. Furthermore, progression into such positions is completely voluntary. If you want to chill as a Police Officer II dipping in occasionally that is fine. If this was previously a barrier for you not considering applying to join, I welcome you apply now and see how it is from the other side. Some documentation may be outdated and contain the old requirements, but that will be updated shortly. https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewforum.php?f=89
  17. To further add to my motive for transparency in the LSPD operations, I wanted to make this post to address a change that I hope will develop into a community-wide shift in perspectives and relations with LSPD members. I feel the best way we can move forward and develop better relations between cop and crim is to break down the barrier between "us and them" and move towards the royal "us" as community members. This post is a continuation of my prior post, linked at the bottom of this. In an effort to promote this, I've broken down some barriers so that members of the LSPD faction can freely enjoy engaging in criminal roleplay and will be joining or creating criminal factions (on alts of course) so that they can get a feel first-hand how it feels to be a crim in 2025 and hopefully build positive relations on an OOC level with current criminal role-players to allow for more enjoyable experience with LSPD members regardless the character they are on while also giving the LSPD members trying out the criminal scene to consider how their actions impact criminals in today's environment. Now I understand that there will be concerns about cops playing crim on their alts, then these cops enforcing the law on their main (such as bias against enemies, leniencies for allies etc) so we are implementing strict regulations to separate the characters and ensure any bias etc does not carry over between characters. Therefore, we have implemented the following internal regulations (primarily aimed at members of the Detective Bureau): You must have 100% separation between characters and you must not engage in roleplay against a group that your crim were a victim to in the same RP situation. Zero tolerance on referencing PD/GND policy. If you choose to join a criminal faction on an alternative character, you must remember that you represent the Los Santos Police Department at all times across all characters. You may not participate in factions that primarily focus on PvP; only lore-driven factions are permitted. While on duty as your LSPD character, you must not initiate investigations or engage in gang enforcement activities against individuals or groups associated with, or enemies of, your alternative character, unless it is part of a pre-established and properly documented investigation. My hopes with this movement is that it will allow current LSPD members to get a feel for how it is to be a crim in 2025 and then consider how they act with criminals when they are on their cop characters to push for more enjoyment for all. Furthermore, I want this to be an opportunity for the community to build stronger relations and break down the barriers we have built between the two sides. At the end of the day we are all here to enjoy a game. I will be keeping a very close eye on this to ensure LSPD members uphold both faction and community standards at all times and the LSPD Internal Affairs will be open to receive OOC IA reports about LSPD members on their alts if you have concerns about their roleplay. I am hopeful this will be a positive experience for all as both sides come together to focus on enjoyment and gameplay.
  18. Feel free to ask him why, it had nothing to do with this post and I stand by what I said.
  19. There’s often a lot of discussion surrounding how law enforcement factions operate, and it’s understandable that players may sometimes feel disconnected from the reasoning behind certain actions or decisions. From the outside looking in, it can appear that PD and SD act in isolation or without accountability, especially when the outcomes directly impact criminal or civilian characters. However, the reality is far more complex. Both factions operate under extensive internal frameworks, policies, and oversight designed to maintain fairness, consistency, and realism (to an extent). With that in mind, I want to take a moment to provide some clarity and insight into how the LSPD has been evolving internally, specifically through changes and improvements that stem from community feedback and in-game experiences. I accept that it is easy to point the blame at PD/SD when you primarily play a criminal character as 9 times out of 10 you will only interact with us when something has gone wrong for your character which can be frustrating. And I also accept that perhaps the lack of transparency can be an issue too. Both PD and SD are constantly developing to match the community environment. Many of you reading this likely will have been in either PD/SD at some point and you can appreciate how in-depth the regulations are and how many there are. Essentially, every action a cop does is rooted in policy. It's not a case of giving a player a badge and gun and saying "Go be a cop bro". Naturally PD and SD have internal policy/regulations that the player base don't see publicly (unlike the rulebook) so a lot of assumptions can be drawn from a lack of transparency. Therefore I'd like to outline some of the relevant changes made to the LSPD internal operations in just the last few months as a result of direct feedback from yourselves, internal observations or reports from others. DEPARTMENT MANUAL CHANGES: Niobe removed due to fairness. Added the Banshee, but implemented an extremely tight list of specific vehicles this can deploy for. This is not used as a standard high-speed pursuit vehicle. Updated impounding policies so that vehicles registered to an individual with active felonies are securely impounded (free) where previously they were impounded fully requiring a fee to release them. Included Graveyard as a 'static crime location', preventing units from actively patrolling this location unless specifically called to it via 911 as is the case with all "static" locations such as drug labs and chop shops. Prohibited patrols to Cayo Perico unless natural roleplay leads members there Added policy regarding "Fair and Balanced" charging (aka Lesser Included Offence). This allows officers discretion to drop charges based on the context of events and only charge for the higher offence when lesser offences are committed to support the higher offence, dropping the lower offences. Essentially removing the requirement to charge for everything a player may do, and simply sticking to the one "main" charge. NON-DEPARTMENT MANUAL CHANGES: Restrictions placed on Thermal Scope/Camera for fairness reasons. Prohibition of turning engines of vehicles on unless you RPly have the keys for the vehicle (or unless the RP is concluded and the vehicle is no longer being or potentially will be used). Creation of roleplay feedback forum which I personally believe has been a pretty substantial success in opening our mind to outside perspectives. Reduction in most uniform loadouts to have 100ap, down from 150ap. Reduction of vehicle license suspensions from 24 hours to 6 hours. Tighter weapon regulation and usage enforcement. Stronger accountability enforcement for misconduct. GND CHANGES: Implemented 'Gang Tier' System which means that not all gangs are painted with the same brush. Gang enforcement would then scale depending on hostility as follows: Restricts Terry Frisks Restricts Tracing of Gang Members Restricts Mask Enforcement at Gang HQs Restricts acting on non-violent activities/crimes Restricts Graffiti removal in and around Gang HQs AD HOC DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Reimagined K-9 roleplay to allow for a fair chance that the K-9's "sniff" is unsuccessful. Essentially a 50/50 /dice if the sniff would be successful or not. Tightened regulations for K-9 use and added further restrictions for fairness. Enforcement of extending RP scenarios where possible/reasonable and allowing for more gameplay over rushing to conclude (such as hostage taking at a bank - negotiations (if reasonable such as free passage) would be respected and allowed to develop into a pursuit, rather than tasing/shooting/spiking when the hostage is safe). Opened direct lines of communications between Gang Leadership and PD Leadership via discord channels within the LSPD discord to obtain real-time feedback in an informal setting. JB pleading charges (which was an idea initially proposed by PD members literally years ago) to reduce jail time, fine etc. Changes to mask enforcement for 'official legal businesses' to allow for more freedom in RP. Internal announcements promoting more courtesy during mask enforcement to allow players more freedom Adjustments to charge stacking policy to reduce jail time/fines received. I hope reading this you can see that we do listen, it just might not be seen due to a lack of transparency which is something I intend to rectify. The list above is just a few months of changes, the manual is constantly evolving based on feedback and observations of the environment we play in and it will continue to develop. We want to enjoy interacting with you, and we want you to enjoy interacting with us. Again, I appreciate that most of the time we only interact with you when you're being arrested, but I hope you see we are trying to do all we can to make you at least reflect on the situation fondly as opposed to with anger or frustration. If you feel something was wrong, and you weren't happy with an interaction with an LSPD faction member and you feel they broke PD regulations, please feel free to make an IA report which can be IC or OOC (or even a combination of both) - they really do work, honest: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewforum.php?f=24 If you would like to give feedback on a roleplay encounter with the LSPD (be that a positive or a negative one) we would love to hear it. Please, take the time to fill out a feedback form: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewforum.php?f=4018 My door is always open, as is the case with everyone in the LSPD leadership team. Everyone who reads this has the exact same goal - to create and maintain an enjoyable game environment for all. I ask that if you choose to respond to this thread, keep it civil and respectful. The LSPD/SD factions contain players who are real people too so I ask that you remember them too when responding. - Silky (LSPD Faction Leader)
  20. Factually incorrect. There is nothing wrong with a community member making a respectful post highlighting valid concerns many players face have - all of which are being discussed and addressed. Some points raised do lack context/foundation, but this is a personal opinion piece which contains a lot of shared perspectives.
  21. Of course, they are free to appeal. These banks aren't blacklistable offences.
  22. I'm rather confused, the suggestion is to "Make the Server More Playable and Less Script-Heavy" to then go on and suggest multiple changes to remove roleplay and add automated scripts? Many players on this server enjoy mechanic roleplay, and as such find a natural home in Bayview and Bennys, I do not support removing their abilities, or removing their faction whatsoever. I do support "Add auto item recovery after jail time ends." as I feel reobtaining your items from one of 5 different hubs is a monotonous task that wastes time and is unenjoyable for DOC, PD and SD. Jail times have already had many reductions, further reductions would be arbitrary. Development will soon focus on changes to DOC to make it more enjoyable to be in the prison, and also be a member of the DOC faction. More detail will come soon, but they are promising. As for your listed vehicle changes, I also don't support this as not only do some points further take away from mechanics, but they also take away the value of working towards owning your own property to park at your private location as opposed to public parking lots. As a gas station owner I do support 3x fuel costs! (Satire, I do not believe the prices need to be increased again. Enough drama came from the last import cost increase.)
  23. 30/SEP/2025 Updated 4. Fear-Roleplay (FRP): Fear RP is still a rule. If you are faced with direct danger to your character's safety, and you do not have reasonable means to defend/evade, you must comply/surrender. As such, the following has been updated to reinforce this. Old: Players whose life is in direct danger must RP adequate fear and are encouraged to comply with demands when faced with a weapon, however, if you choose to not surrender you must be willing to RP the full consequences of your actions. New: Players whose life is in direct danger must RP adequate fear and are expected to comply with demands when faced with a weapon. Choosing not to surrender is only appropriate if you have a reasonable means of resistance or escape (e.g., possessing a weapon or a viable and immediately accessible getaway). If you do choose not to comply, you must be prepared to RP the full consequences of your actions. Simply attempting to run on foot without such reasonable means does not qualify.
  24. This is very well thought out and I like it, especially the "immediately accessible" element to getaways. I also like the idea regarding disbarment, but I don't think that should explicitly be in the rule as an example else we will fall into the rabbit hole of listing all possible outcomes. I feel tackling a sole hostile and fighting for control of the weapon would fall under "reasonable means of resistance" so long as contextually it makes sense such as being next to the hostile and making a swift action to disarm, not running at a hostile aiming a gun at you to tackle.
