Is this a serious topic based on the recent situation, really? I hate to compare Cop vs Crim comparisons as there are so many different ways certain elements impact different roleplayers. But as you have decided to bring this up, let's first look at a suspension - The average suspension time is 24 hours which blocks them from clocking on duty for that entire time. This then means they cannot earn any money from their faction duty for that entire period, and these potential earnings are much higher than the usual fines a cirminal faces. Let's look at discharges (with criminal charges) - That cop character is dead. Sure, they could turn their cop crim and carry on from there, but their position in the faction would no longer be respected both OOC and IC. From the LSPD's policy "You cannot join the faction on another character if you have turned your original LSPD character criminal". This means if they wanted to come back to PD on another character, they would have to restart everything. Even if they didn't go criminal and did an OOC transfer into their old position, all assets on their prior character are dead and all roleplay progression, relationships and knowledge also dead. If you go to jail as a criminal, you are out in an hour or two and back to what you were doing previously. Again, I hate comparing Cop vs Crim as they are completely different roleplayers and are impacted in such different ways but to post such an ignorant suggestion (without suggesting anything) due to lack of knowledge is just destined to be perceived as shit stirring.

What a daft suggestion. These threads pop up from time to time and the advice given when they are inevitably shut down is never followed. If you have an issue with a specific government faction, MAKE AN IA REPORT and it can be either IC, OOC or both. I have not seen any reports from you or anyone relating to the topic - if you want to see change, reach out to the source rather than openly flaming factions publicly.

I’m only joking with you - I agree, it would not be wise to OOCly moderate this. Although on the surface it may seem unrealistic, it’s the way players are ICly held accountable. Speaking on behalf of PD’s IA, we will always respect every report as valid, regardless the origin.

Hey there. This was discussed amongst senior staff and was ruled to be allowed for gov factions (with access to them) to use while injured as long as other rules such as Fear-RP are being respected. Unfortunately, open radio communications for all players (gov factions included) was and will remain scriptly disabled due to the poor standards displayed by many players treating a shootout like a competitive CS:GO tournament and making unrealistic cod-lobby call-outs while RPly critically injured.

Reporting to GOV will yield nothing other than potential discourse between the factions without context of investigation which will not result in any meaningful outcome. The best thing to do is to raise an IC or OOC complaint via the relevant faction so it can be dealt with based on their policy and investigated. Should you then disagree with the outcome of the complaint, you would then have ammunition for meaningful dialogue with GOV should you wish to do so.
