Spawned Vehicles with items inside to steal
MrSilky replied to Shurples's topic in Pending Suggestions
I think this is a good idea! @AnakinB- What do you reckon? -
This would be a nice feature, and allow more immersion for all styles of RP.

How many people are going to leave before something changes?
MrSilky replied to AtlasOLimbo's topic in Archive
I’ll just jump in here and say we do hear you and we do listen. I appreciate not knowing is the worst thing, but I can assure you lots of change is on the horizon. A key example is that we currently have a chat dedicated to criminal roleplay changes. This chat consists of criminal faction leaders and historically notable criminal role players with a direct point of contact with the dev team. Here discussions have been ongoing to make the criminal role more rewarding, fun and interactive. Last night we had a long management meeting discussing most points made in that chat and have agreed to implement, develop and change a long list of points to achieve the above goal. I also must note that we recently had the highest intake of server applications since after the COVID lockdowns resulting in higher concurrent player counts - but don’t worry as we are not being complacent with that, we aim to capitalise on it by giving all players new and old a reason to stay. We hear you.- 10 replies

Interpret what I said however you want to. I won’t be saying yes or no to individual circumstances. Faction Management can raise concerns with your faction leadership if they see the pings are excessive or promote pvp RP.
-
@Harley - if faction services deem your pings to be excessive, they will direct you to adjust.
-
You’ve gotta stop twisting my responses - that’s wild. See @alexalex303’s clarifications.
-
As long as not excessively done and not used to summon numbers for “clapping” have at it. Don’t twist my response though to justify clapping pings though please! For example, here is the PD pager channel, averages at 1 ping a day, if that:
-
Hey there! There is no advantage here whatsoever as we allow all players to ping others OOCly for “RP opps” and it is not restricted to just the Gov factions as you have mentioned. The gov factions simply roleplay it as a pager to make RP sense, other factions be that criminal or legal don’t even need to roleplay a pager! There is no issue with notifying friends/faction members OOCly about roleplay opportunities in game, as long as the OOC ping does not contain any IC information - which the Gov factions don’t as they simply say “You would receive a page” or something along those lines. Not only that, but these pagers are restricted to SED/SWAT meaning that less than 25% of the faction even gets them. Hope that clears up the confusion! MrSilky

Thank you. Please do not fuel slanderous topics with false information in future. I take my role in IA very seriously as I know that is the point-of-contact for players to question the legitimacy of PD's actions. This counts both OOC and IC and if I fuck up in my role in IA it can lead to many negative interactions and precedents. I have played on both the crim and the legal side (admittedly it has been a couple of years since I played criminal properly) but I have experienced both sides to a good extent and I believe you need to see both sides to understand. This topic is full of many assumptions made entirely to justify personal narrative or further slander the factions being discussed. If you have concerns IC or OOC with how PD carry themselves, my DMs are always open. I want everyone to be happy. I absolutely agree to DOC is needing some love and it absolutely will be getting some. I also agree to having the PD/SD factions have to fund more of their equipment to balance usage. I do see both sides, but fuelling slander against the factions with false information to justify your argument isn't the way to go. We see the issues, and we are working on it.

I am not being hostile in the slightest, I am just hoping to steer this discussion into a factual one - and when you state you have had multiple IA reports ignored when there are none on record, I want to clarify that. Do you have multiple accounts? I would like to review these reports you claim to have made to ensure they were dealt with in a fair manner - if they exist of course!
-
Hi there, I run the LSPD Internal Affairs and I have just searched all of your posts on the gov website and cannot find a single IA submission. I assume you have multiple gov accounts? Look forward to your response.
-
Hey there, thanks for the suggestion. Paying to win is never and will never be the direction of this community therefore this will not be implemented. Appreciate the suggestion nonetheless.
-
I am personally in charge of the Internal Affairs division and find this quite slanderous and hurtful. I urge you to provide any proof of this bias because I can hand on heart say that there is none. My team work extremely hard upholding standards in character and faction integrity out of character. I strongly suggest you review the statistics of IA and also the notice board for officer punishments to collect actual evidence before making such outlandish comments based on assumptions.
-
Same as our regs. I'm obviously not going to go into too much detail to prevent metagaming - but lethal force should only be used against an active lethal threat.
-
Hey! There are OOC rules for combat RP and the police faction has IC regulations for escalations of force. If you think their escalation was invalid, by all means make an IC IA report, or an OOC forum report and we will be happy to review them! I do appreciate that on the surface one might think a "simple fun evade" is nothing notable, but as @kris giggs mentions, there is usually a reason. However, per the IC regs, assumptions don't equal escalation. As such, there has to be a confirmed reason to escalate. Again, if you feel the escalation is inaccurate, by all means follow an IC/OOC report. IA report (Can be IC or OOC) - https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?t=3259 OOC rulebreak reports - https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/forum/4-player-reports/ Cheers!

Adjusted Faction Rules Removed The use of joint-frequencies and providing backup to other factions is forbidden outside of an Official War approved by Faction Management. Any backup or joint attacks must be within an approved war or happen naturally. Texting, using one person to relay information, and any other such attempts to circumvent this rule will result in permanent bans. Added standalone backup rule as follows: Factions may not seek assistance/backup from other factions outside of a pre-established and organized activity. With proper IC reasoning, individual(s) who naturally stumble upon a situation may interject but cannot call their own faction for additional backup. Players are expected to consider the risk vs reward in relation to their interjection. The use of joint frequencies is prohibited outside of a coordinated activity taking place. Activities are intended to be majority stationary and do not include travel from location to location. They must have a specific accomplishable purpose and may not include hunting other factions (ie: ‘rolling labs’ is not an activity). In the event of chain activities (ie: robbing stores) the activity is considered a specific robbery. All parties on a joint frequency must be in the same location (surrounding areas apply should the activity require it ie: scouting). Engagements that take place while enroute to an activity location are permitted to be responded to only by the singular associated faction. Calling and texting others with information about an active situation needing backup will be considered an attempt to bypass the rule. Having members of different factions in a vehicle for the purpose of being able to utilize both factions during a need for backup is prohibited. CLARIFICATION: Many players and staff have frequently been confused by the backup rules in the past. The administration team has now broken down the rule into specific elements to help with understanding and enforcement.

Hey! You just buy it back (if it's yours it's free) then re-list it for the desired price

To prevent this becoming a political back-and-forth, we would like to firstly clarify that we have not stated that this faction is not allowed to return. ECRP Management always strive to encourage others to generate unique Roleplay that is enjoyable for both the host and the community. As I am sure you can appreciate, the topic of Russia is very emotive and current in the real world with many victims across the world including within our community. I want to emphasize that we do want to allow for your Roleplay to continue (as long as you are not roleplaying current real events) while respecting the feelings of other community members and potential 3rd party viewers from ECRP media. As such, we will not limit you from role playing your Russian origin faction as we do not seek to discriminate, but we ask that you not openly represent the Russian image (such as flying their flag) at this time as we do not want non-contextual assumptions made by those not involved in your Roleplay tarnishing the image of ECRP or upsetting current members of the community.

I support this. Perhaps 6:1 would be better rather than the current 4:1? This would mean 6 game hours = 1 IRL hour, or 10 IRL minutes = 1 game hour. Therefore, a full night cycle would only be less than 1.5 hours rather than 2 hours allowing for more variety in gameplay. I don't think speeding up any more would be viable as it would be like time skipping on Ark which is meh.

Contradictory to what? Where did I say anything about 24 hour license suspensions or jail time? That’s a completely different topic and wasn’t even mentioned. As you seem so passionate about this topic, I’ll entertain it once just to highlight a key area you are failing to understand. When your vehicle is stolen and chopped, it is not your actions or risk that results in loss, it is someone else’s actions against you. When your license is suspended or you go to jail, this is a reaction to your actions. An illegal character also has many more avenues for vehicle usage even when ICly not allowed to. Be that driving without a license, stealing another car or using a friends one again without a license. A legal new player will not want to tarnish their characters future doing this. Please stop trying to link one suggestion loosely to others and remain on topic. If you have a suggestion for something else, make a new thread.
-
I fail to see any contradiction in what I wrote. I think you are trying to link my reply to yours and saying that I am contradicting your unrelated point? This discussion is about chop shops and mors timers - not other timers. If you have suggestions for those, have at it and make them but don’t attack responses on this one while focussing in unrelated topics. Try to remember this in future.
-
I support both an increase to the timer to chop, and also a reduction in Mors cooldown. 5 minutes to chop a vehicle with 10+ active chopshops across the map means it is essentially impossible to attempt to even locate your vehicle pre-chop, let alone try to retrieve it. Furthermore, 4 hours OOC with no vehicle is a huge hinderance. This is GTA and the game is structured around vehicle usage and many players only have one vehicle so disabling this for so long is excessive - especially considering how limited secure parking is around the map and also how frequently vehicles are stolen.
