Stronger enforcement on NonRP mask wearing and metagaming name tags.
FrankieP replied to MrUntouchable215's topic in Archive
You're not wrong, the state of rp has really declined and most of what we see now is just people playing to win/PvP. Osborn's announcement was amazing, I also agree with that, so big shoutout to him. Im not sure about mask thing completely, as the small size of the map in comparison to rhe real world makes it hard for people roleplaying undercover characters to avoid other players. I do understand the sentiment though and O wouldn't be opposed to the enforcement of NonRP rules in this regard. Bringing back CK's is also a fantastic idea, so +1 to that -
Nah g it's body armour not fat

Not true, I often used to pick heavy pistols due to their cheaper price and increased rate of fire. I know the same applies to many other crim players.

My two cents: Drug Labs: The static drug labs need to be brought back. Whilst the introduction of the home tables was amazing, it is currently very restrictive on smaller gangs and individual criminal players. At current, you can only cook Marijuana and Cocaine without going through official factions to obtain alternative ingredients, as well as having to buy tables from them if you wish to mass produce drugs. Having open drug labs in the wild with magically restocking shelves doesn't make much rp sense, and the presense of only one table in each labs makes it incredibly difficult to profit. Here are two ways the static labs could be brought back and make rp sense: - Crack houses. These are small buildings, like the LSD lab, where there are perhaps only one or two tables, although to counter this disadvantage, the shelves restock as the crackheads living there bring ingredients in (rply of course), minus those purchasable at Humane Labs. Just as labs previously were and currently are, you are vulnerable to robberies in these locations, as the NPC crackheads there will not help you, therefore the cooking times could be reduced to provide an advantage to cooking in these locations. The NPC crackheads do not know how to cook, but the players do, therefore the NPCs will give you the ingredients to cook, and then the drugs produced can be sold at NPC's in gang turfs (as I believe it works now), which is of course rply distributed to users across Los Santos. - Drug factories. Similar to the drug farms from GTA Online, these are large warehouses for mass drug production, and would rply be abandoned drug labs. Where these differ from the crack houses is that there are a greater abundance of drug tables. The cooking time will also be reduced, although there will be no restocking shelves, and people would only be able to produce Marijuana and Cocaine without ingredients purchased from official factions. Again, there is a vulnerability to robberies from other people as the buildings are completely abandoned and devoid of other people. Both these suggestions offer advantages over static drug labs, and even offer solutions for those who cannot/do not want to go through official factions. They both lack the safety that comes with cooking in your own home, and would bring potential for the the kidn of social RP that we all know and love from the static drug labs of old times. Despite this, one disadvantage to the suggestion would be that larger gangs could take over the labs and prevent small-time criminals from using them entirely. Weed update: This has been suggested in a previous thread, although I'm too lazy to find it and tag it. The suggestion is basically that people would be able to grow weed in their own homes, which prevents them from having to harvest publicly grown weed with the risk of being robbed. It also offers more opportunities for Law Enforcement to RP with criminals. Drug production is a good way for criminals to make money, and the only way to get weed at present is by going to labs; this can be a problem for gangs that have been ordered to stay out of the public labs. I also believe that the equipment required to grow weed at home shouldn't only be obtainable via official factions, as not everyone is in contact with them or in good standing with them. Rules: A lot of people have a problem with the robbery rules. For me, they were a great addition to discourage illogcial public robberies, although I understand that they can be (and have been) abused for the benefit of criminals seeking ooc asylum from other gangs hunting them. Additionally, I feel like the problems that arise from these rules are not solely within their addition, but within the mentality of some crim players that seek to win every situation and report every situation they lose. This also stems from the general toxicity that we see where people will try to get their fellow players banned over IC conflicts. If as a crim player your report a fellow crim players, it's most likely that you've been guilty of that too at some point; I think there needs to be a consensus among crim players that the robbery rules will only be applied to civilan roleplayers (for the most part), rather than against people you're actively in conflict with. The latest update made by Osborn is amazing in my opinion, and I respect in completely. Cracking down on players who are quite clearly only here to PvP is long overdue, and I fully support the new rule clarifications. The problem with Crim RP is mostly rooted in the attitudes of crim players, although I feel it could approve with the latest update. If you base your gang on seeking conflict, then it doesn't deserve to exist. If you base your RP on seeking conflict and obtaining clips to form a montage every week, then you don't belong in the community. Also, it's kinda ironic seeing people complain about how the top gangs are currently in some massive alliance against single gangs (which I would agree is wrong), whilst also being former members of the council. Like didn't you all just spend the last few years obliterating any and all criminal factions for little to no reason? The Wanted, The Rooks, Misfits, WCA, Dojin-Kai, Murda Block, to name a few examples of factions that were attacked were wiped because some people only play to PvP. As they say, what goes around comes around. Pure comedy.

Looks promising, good luck!

Sad to see another gang disband! Good luck to everyone in their future endeavours, Also sad to see folk being childish over a video game

You're ignoring the fact that robbery rules literally exist

I'll make only a brief point to prevent this from becoming another crim v pd argument. I don't think it's fair to link the concerns of crim players to them seeking constant shootouts and pursuits, because that certainly is not the case for all of us. I've always attempted to engage in meaningful criminal RP, favouring diplomacy over war when it has come to dealing with external relations in a gang (never been on for heavy PvP gameplay). I hope you can respect the effort that I and a lot of others have put into making crim RP somewhat deep and interesting, just as I know that what you created with WCA was undoubtebly one of the best roleplayed criminal factions I've ever seen. I'll have to agree to disagree with you on the point about democracy and analogies, although I do quite like the suggestion that @Bala makes, where faction leaders can form suggestions out of feedback from their members. Community engagement is never a bad thing! I appreciate efforts to engage in non-action law enforcement roleplay, I've had my fair share of such interactions with cop players, although I still assert that having a healthy and satisfied crim community will always be necessary for balance and enjoyment on all sides. -
I agree with all the points you make here, although I do still believe that criminals should be able to actually get a firearm from looting cops (or using a /takeguns command as you suggest). With realism in mind, however, I do believe an adjustment to the robbery rules would have to be made, wherein it is stated that players made not rob cops without a specific and justifiable reason outside of shootout, and all shootouts should only be a last resort, initiated by cops in 90% of situations. The rules around robbing cops would be siimilar to deathmatching rules; you would have to have 'rights' to initiate it or be in an active shootout.

Bruh I've been saying this for so long and I completely agree @_Demon_. It seems all crim players hate each so much oocly, like they'll be allies one day and the next they'll be super toxic to each other because they're IC enemies. Yeah I understand people can get competetive, but if you're being oocly toxic and harassing folks over a video game then you need to get a shower. You mention reports as well, and that's absolutely true, like you can't have any sort of engagement with an enemy (or anyone in a hostile context, for that matter), without SOMEONE being like 'save pov' or '????' or just spamming 'REPORTED'. People will deadass be screaming down VOIP "SHOW FEAR BRO IVE GOT A GUN TO YOUR HEAD HELLO?". People say "Hello?" in such a condescending manner and reference rules in VOIP too much on this server, it's honestly a joke now. Anyone that hits me with that receives a whirlwind of verbal abuse, it's like the one thing I don't tolerate anymore. Not so long ago we literally had a whole ex-official gang going on alts to spam fashion and the forums with doxxes of fellow community members, one of whom is literally a 15 year old; sounds kinda weird that grown men are leaking photos of literal children because they lost official. I aint naming names but you know who I'm talking about. This was kinda rantey but it's honestly insane how much everyone hates each other here. It is literally a video game, if you're trying to get people banned for the dumbest of shit due to IC conflicts, then grow up and go outside please xx

Bro you are not telling me that if all crim players vacated the server, you'd be satisfied with having 'community outreach' programs and 'parking enforcement' as your primary RP. How about holding an LSPD bake sale to raise funds for charity? That sounds like a great time! Your direct democracy analogy is kinda busted as well ngl. Representative democracy has only reinforced a two-party system in the USA and the UK, and the form of democracy really doesn't change the fact that people will always vote for their own interests, why would they not? Comparing ECRP to any form of democracy is a bad analogy, seeing as players don't get any kinda of vote and discussions are constantly put down. Whilst I agree that the robbery rules were a good thing, they were not objectively better for the server, as you claim, and the entire crim community expressing concern about what the rules have done to their gameplay experience shouldn't be ignored. If you wanna form political analogies around how suggestions are received and implemented, then here's one for you: totalitarianism Stay safe my slime. -
This could go well alongside being able to loot cops. If cops knew that their weapon inventories were finite, then perhaps they'd start valuing their lives and their equipment much more rather than rushing into every situation guns blazing and playing to win. If they don't wish to have their weapons looted by criminals, then they should have to start thinking tactically, employing new methods and actually roleplaying realistically. I think a large part of the problem is the fact that cops know oocly that they will not have to suffer financially or rply if they die or lose their equipment (unlike crim players), and will simply rush into every situation knowing that they can just spawn in a new cruiser and carbine after they die. +1 to the suggestion

Sad to see you go mate, disappointing to see innocent folks punished

+1 It's refreshing to hear a cop player sympathise with crim players when it comes to the lack of RP opportunities in DOC, and the fact that fines and sentences shouldn't deter anyone from playing crim. I agree with the suggestion @Bala, although the fines on the richest of people shouldn't be too high (a concern that @Devil Neeraj addresses). I also agree that prison labour should provide you with more stamps/cash, and that time reduction should be increased when exchanging those stamps.

Amazing RP as always! Loving the posts

+1 I like the idea of having different species of fish. Perhaps the standard fish, the cheapest, could be caught right at the shore (at the beach, off the pier etc), whereas the more expensive fish are further out into the ocean and in specific areas, promoting some exploration and communication between fisherman to discover.

+1, cops should be able to lose their things, and doing so should subsequently affect their record as a cop. This would perhaps make cops value their lives more and not bumrush into every situation like they do now
