Yea I think its just unecessary, cops do use bobby pins, but even IRL cops don't have instant access to vehicles they use locksmiths... and you RP bobbypins the same as everyone else.... just seems like a bunch of addition for a minor thing.

This, the systems are currently very incomplete and a basic lawbook of "most common laws" to be invoked would be nice. We have a charge and legal listing but its actually really far behind some of the charges are mislabeled... the problem I think is that mostly it is a thankless job... so its hard for government to pick up such a big task quickly.

Right now the randomness if the only thing keeping every car from being stolen... while I wish a puzzle was enough, I feel it would be incredibly hard or this would just be a massive boost to car lock picking.... I like the idea of it being more skill based, but I also think the problem is none of it will be as hard as actual lockpicking, so people will just breeze through it... unless its like time gated and the person has to do the puzzle for a good 5 minutes.... So ultimately, I like the idea, but I can already see the abuse...

Hahahah you're funny, los santos follows nothing of the constitution. The legal system is basically "Whatever the cops feel like" and once they put charges on you, you serve time and can never get a job because you can't have it removed from your record, and even if you name change they OOC rp knowing your charges... I've been a law abiding citizen with two legal jobs, one of them at the DOC for months now and I still can't get a gun license because they have a policy where if they know you've committed a crime, you have to CK to remove it... even though IRL a sufficient amount of time could expunge it, or you could argue it legally, or you could have it sealed by the government or military. The police have very PG policies as well, blocking doors with a single car knowing the back door and windows are not real is allowed even though its textbook PG, using ooc information to make investigations for licensing and arrest has been done many times and it has been given the thumbs up... The PD have no checks in this server and civilians have no rights. I love civilian RP but people are right, there is little to support it, the closest ive had to decent civilian RP is hiding in my own home (where everyone's car gets stolen constantly because los santos is a cops and robbers sim) or at the bank or tequilala.... you go anywhere that is not an NCZ it feels more like rust than IRL.... Victor is a good officer in game, but dont get the impression PD are much better than criminals for "respecting rights".

Again as somebody who works at the DOC we RP as much as we can... but its pretty hard to do it while an injured inmate is swinging their fists at you and PD can't take them out of the prison and 90% of them just want out and dont respond to RP despite our only method of RP being props and imagination land.

I agree, I think the big thing right now is... to reform prison time... there should also be a better reward... Right now player on player robberies are the most rewarding but usually least inventive or interactive of criminal actions... I think running an entire drug lab should be far more.... valuable... also there really isnt a street market for drugs... so all of that aside I believe increasing prison time is a good thing... I just also think right now the 2 hour for shooting somone and running a drug lab for what equates to 10 hamburgers... is a bad precedent... I think criminal activity didnt inflate with the rest of the server and it has led to some bad interactions and worse habits. I think people should be more involved in reporting crimes too.. a lot of people see a robbery as they drive by and keep driving with their head down... but a lot of people would go a mile away and call the police. Also the current police call system makes discreet calling really complicated... there are a lot of ideas... I wonder if doing a whole survey like they just did about robberies to brainstorm ideas might be a good way to compile some alternative solutions. I believe prison sentences should be big... maybe involving offline time too.... 24 hours in prison is okay if it ticks down while offline... then people that dont want to be involved in prison RP dont have to be, and can continue playing the next day... but those that want to RP will have prison RP... but the Prison needs more script assistance for that because 3 guards handling intake processing and prison RP is going to be a bit much... when we are already thin. I like the discussion the topic has, lets keep going down that road. PS: The whole anti PD thing was started by somone tooting PDs RP horn when most of us believe they have a lot of problems so it was intentional stirring of the pot, lets try and stay on topic I get derailed and baited too easily because I type how I talk haha

LSEMS I believe, LSPD not so much in my eyes... I take 10-15s from them all the time, ive even had them drive off while I was RPing grabbing a known runner carefully and then we have to NRP chase a guy in cuffs all over the rooftops because a lot of police just want the action not the RP... Verbal RP however I have had some delightful experiences with some police, but I would not consider them in the same class as LSEMS... nor would I consider them top RP... they are like the most script assisted faction, so I see far less actual RP, change my mind and a lot of stuff in their policies that is allowed that shouldnt be... Back when I played a criminal I was arrested for robbing a store (I had no weapon) but there were 3 of us in a store with at least 3 visible exits, how did 1 officer restrain 3 fleeing people you ask? Well he shoved his vehicle up against the door knowing that the other doors are "fake" and shot us when we finally shoved it open then had EMS revive us to take us to jail... cool.. story... then I try to RP it as a non violent crime because I wasnt given a trial it was an accessory and I never had a weapon and the head of weapons licenses wouldnt let me RP it... So I did what everyone else does in this server changed my name, but oh no they OOC denied me on the grounds that name change was not viable for getting rid of a criminal record, even though it was RPed at city hall as a record expunge and should have been removed in the first place so I dont think I can believe the LSPD that allows so much script abuse by faction policy is considered good RP... granted none of this is relevant to the original point which talks about what we can do to help engage better criminal RP in relation to prison time... which I believe is a important because right now being a criminal is not rewarding enough to justify more prison time, but going to prison is not scary enough to simulate any real consequence... and there is little room for interaction once the prison time begins... @Jbacon The admin jailing thing isnt actually an admin thing I wasnt saying they were admins I was pointing to the fact that they put people in prison and there is nothing really to do... so it is essentially an admin jail... I was referencing something from a different post. I wasnt implying any sort of that admin stuff, in fact most of the server rped like our admin team we wouldnt have these issues. A lot of fun with those guys. And the 30min cap was more aimed at like reckless operation and shit... a lot of accessory and other crimes still get really huge jailtime. Killing a person should be treated as a bigger charge so there is variation my idea was like crude at best so I agree on some level, mostly to point out that right now you get 120 months for speeding tickets and 120 months for killing an officer... and 0 months for killing a DOC employee.... Maybe stacking sentences but with diminishing returns? So repeat offenders always have risk but it doesnt get too nuts that they can never play again? And I agree its a two prong necessity, with both a need for scripted aid and RP reform... a lot of which just requires admitting it is good to try to start...

Yea prison and time in prison isnt really respected, we cant add time for crime in prison, and the cap on prison time is relatively low... I think a 2 hour cap on jailtime should not be the case... I feel like it should be a 30 minute cap, but every charge can stack... so when I see people pulled over with like 20 charges... it means something and nobody should be getting 120 months of prison time for reckless operation... PD and the government need to change that speeding charge...

Not exactly sure who did this to you, but unless we are absolutely overwhelmed we almost always try to RP resistance.... Honestly more than I have ever seen PD because we dont just shoot you. The taze and carry body thing is also against policy, if it happened to you report it to DOC IA please. Also for /do no success a person would have to reasonably explain why... or be in violation of server RP standards... I have had all kinds of prison RP experiences, people smuggling radios in under their ballsacks, guns and knives tossed over a fence....f it happens a lot but like expecting PD to deal with a court case for every single arrest, we do not have time to RP a prison break or hostage situation for every inmate... and some of them are super greedy... they are known runners and fighters so we RP special precautions to try and limit the time they take from other prisoners. We have a lot of standards at the DOC they are just hard to keep in check with no reports made and a literal clown fiesta non stop coming in with 3-4 people to process all of them and RP with PD and other inmates... we do our best but honestly its exhausting every hour you are there because it feels unfair that your time is stretched.... As for the props... those props are BS and the new cell block objects are BS... no way would an inmate ever be given open access to wooden tables and pool sticks... people keep suggesting we should RP with that stuff that is nonRP to begin with... and if they want that we can just keep them locked in their cells all day... so its a double edged sword... either we force people into cells for the entirety of their prison sentence... or we cannot RP a fucking barfight with 5 inmates every time we process a 10-15 when we get like 30+ a night... There needs to be something for inmates to due that does not solely require RP from guards... we are stretched too thin with the time we have, longer prison sentences would let them RP with each other more, but most dont want to RP so something scripted would be helpful... and definitely charges... the fact that inmates aren't punished with jailtime for doing crimes in jail makes it far too common.... but PD has made it clear they wont add charges for us so DOC needs the right to add for crime and remove time for good behavior (parole board regulated)

At the DOC we have been playing with this, but there is so much potential for abuse if you let inmates out to do work... that being said I think its a great idea... also PD MD Mechanics... all have secondary income, where DOC only has government... so we can't actually grow without government consent... so this could be a way to bypass it... working in the prison could be taxed.. part of it going to the inmate and part of it going to the prison.

yea dude I work at the DOC and honestly its not that we dont want to interact with prisoners but some days we cant get in the door because there are 9 inmates sitting there trying to punch at it like that would ever happen... everyone wants to kill a guard or break out even though they cant without admin approval... and we have no recourse... PD can charge somone for hours for minor infractions, but yesterday a gentleman tried to rp breaking a two by four table that shouldnt even exist in a prison into a "shiv" and then tried to PG hold it to my neck and I am not only supposed to RP this but I have to RP it knowing hes in there for 45 minutes and I have 3 more inmates coming in because everyone gets arrested for speeding...

name changing doesnt fix anything because PD has begun ooc denying people and applying ooc knowledge to charges because why not... also hardly any cops? I think you might be sleeping... I am more likely to see a cop than anything else in this city...

+1+1 I am against the previous suggestions of "max 8 hours" and stuff, but this is much more thought out... and it addresses some key factors a lot of similar posts did not, like an appeals system and some sort of accountability for PD, because right now PDs fun normally consists of them running around admin jailing people for automatic speed tickets... its a bit backwards.. There needs to be more to do at the DOC, more opportunity, and PD needs to stop throwing charges around without proof, and criminals need to act like peeling out in the DOC parking lot is not an easy risk for them to take. I like a lot of this, my only worry is it will be half implemented because the loudest voice in the server is PD with nearly 3 times the size of any other faction.... and it will just get worse... but if nothing is tried nothing will get better. So +1 for trying to do this (maybe not those exact numbers and values but overall)

I saw for some people they were having an issue like this at the mine... in your RAGEMP folder delete the folder with this servers IP as its name... then restart the server it will reload the files and it should fix your issue.

I don't believe this should be supported... this is not a DM server, this is an RP server, we want good interactions so even the person being robbed or attacked can feel good... I do not think authorizing them to shoot on sight anyone with a green or blue shirt is the way to do it... I think the restrictions should instead be stronger... people reporting you for DMing..? Did you DM? Its not hard to avoid DMing someone, just don't kill them unless they attack... more than half the DM attacks come from people spraying bullets like its an FPS... I think honestly its just a matter of time, yes there will be lots of report, yes people will get banned... but the rules are there and reasonable. We should not be implementing systems that turn everywhere outside an NCZ into a battlefield... -1

There are lots of places to RP that are not GTA online to practice. You can RP in discord with friends, or at DnD games... he was just suggesting that if you feel scared or nervous about your performance, use your wait time as a warm up time.

See this is exactly the kind of stuff we try to filter out. RP to a lot of people is a release, a creative outlet, and a tandem writing experience. Not just "a game" they expect a level of commitment and realism that requires respect for the server and the people you RP with that isn't in games like fortnite and gta online... I myself have a disability that keeps me from doing a lot of what I do in game ever... this server and the people in it have given me a place to taste that freedom. Please if you get accepted, treat the server as a bit more than just a game. Thank you. PS: Not just 2 weeks ago the wait time was over a month... we are doing the best we can...

I kind of agree with OP here... because high end has been locked down with vehicles for days... full to the top... there should be some sort of protection in the form of contracts... allow high end type trades from hand to hand, same as would be done through DMV or FSBO housing sales.... Housing sales should be easily done through IG means, but right now vehicles are mmmm dicey or could use some love, but cest la vi, poor Nobody working overtime on a lot of the server and 900000 new people, Im happy we at least have what we have

I actually am very upset. When they put in speakers I thought I could take this time to private DJ my own house and parties with a shoutcast stream that I pay for every month (I have since college, a little passion project).... but Nobody has it locked to just internet radio which is so short sighted. Shoutcast stream could be piped through a single IP so it isnt dangerous, it could also be applied for white list, but right now none of that exists... so imo speakers are little improvement over the ambient stuff all over the game. I hope we get some system in the future for using private shoutcast.... he could even pay for a few and we could donate credits for them an he could make profit on them and also control the viewing of the dashboard so it would be safe AF.... some of us just want music :<

This would be helpful if A: We had an actual ruling, it seems 50/50 atm.... and B: The ruling followed the rules of physics... and going by what the scripting allows cuts off so much RP in so many aspects of the game so that is an unhealthy approach I believe as well but I think you are right where unclear rules bring ooc conflict.

I keep getting mixed signals and it seems like it shouldnt be a discussion, like the answer should be like everything in this game "RP it" because it is an RP server.... but the mining job and fishing job require large inventories... so bags and crates are commonly used. Recently there have been some split decisions on driving with a box or bag in your hands even if it is RPed placed in the cab or backseat of a vehicle... Now the way I understood it, is it would only be wrong if it was PG because you cant put a box on the back seat of a motorcycle or bifta... but if you have a giant truck, wouldnt it be reasonable to place a bag or box on the seat or in the literal sleeping cabin? I don't want to be outside the rules, and like a few other rulings it seems very, subjective.... and I wanted to get some clarification on it and ask how everyone feels. The bag and box are scripted in your hand.... but we can't load them into the back of the truck... mechanical limitations... sooo is it wrong or not... and if it is... what is the point of a bag or box since you cannot actually pick it up at max weight?
