No... its not, sometimes the money is pocketed by officers and I know this from word of mouth, officers literally talking about their "bonus" for catching criminals with money... and stuff they steal is not "despawned" they just say it is because you all don't actually confirm anything. The good ones might, but not all of them.

Ive made reports of obvious server rule breaches, found as "Crossfire" when it was an ooc report, we have a video of an OOC corruption policy Osborne told people was in place and then reneged on because Shelby told someone it was fine in an IA report. In fact I've never heard of a single successful IA report on a cop no matter how shitty they are. 3: Cops take more than that... and stealing food isnt a big deal, stealing a knife or a fishing rod or a persons cash (happens frequently wether you believe it or not) is different 4: Yes cops should exceed rp standards... they are given the ability to permanently scar a persons character IC and OOC, Take away hours of play time from people, control the flow of weapons for anyone who isn't a blatant criminal... what is the old phrase "With great power comes great responsibility" 5: All of your counter arguments are for not because you ended up agreeing with me and then trying to push your 8 hour jailtime suggestion that flopped spectacularly.... We need a system in place for handling evidence, cops should not be handling anything but guns and items used specifically IN the crime... and everything else should be given back (obviously food is whatever good point)

This isnt about who has the sweeter deal or who gets the "advantage" in a role playing game... its about what we strive to achieve in RP at the PD and DOC, professionalism and integrity, we shouldnt be taking their things and we should be following proper IRL protocols as closely as we can.... not because we HAVE to, but because we WANT to... sure you can steal that mans fishing rod for 1000 in game currency, or you can RP an officer who knows stealing will consistently land him without a badge or job, or one that just doesnt want to be scum, or wants to be better than the criminals....

Well a couple of things, PD doesnt take your fishing rod out into evidence... and you are given the opportunity call a friend or family, also they dont arrest for reckless driving on the spot, they give you a summons and you go there from court... so A: some exceptions have to be made B: ANYTHING on you when you get to jail is returned upon release... so PD would never take anything not directly related to the crime.

There are a lot of people who are not afraid to go to jail... also we give their stuff back the best we can because we are rping law enforcement, PD and DOC have a duty to return non evidence belongings upon release... We dont get to make up the rules... and as of right now stuff is stored in bags in lockup, but a system or stash would be nice..

Yea I feel like robberies in this server get really short handed because they are afraid I am stalling... I mean I have slow typing to begin with because of partial hand paralysis... so it gets really nerve racking when people don't respect the (Typing...) thing... beause I am going as fast as I can, and I would also like to RP something other than kneeling.... but I dont think there is any rule against it, it is just the mentality I see a lot... Wishing people would slow down... if somone comes in on a robbery they should respect the RP scenario too... but mostly its just rush rush rush... yea I dont think bad RP is against the rules, just frowned upon.... I just wish people would treat this more as a tandem writing prompt instead of just GTA robbery mod lol...

Mmmm I never thought of that... I always feel like /do still has to be IC so asking about motivation and stuff that I probably wouldnt know out of curiosity or just to get a better grasp felt like it should be OOC... but yea I guess maybe it evolved this way because of misuse? Hmmm but I usually RP with /me and voice, and use /ooc to ask questions sometimes or to clarify what my words mean... but it gets a lot of hate

So I have played a lot of RP servers, a lot of RP games and ive been on this server a couple months now... and something I have noticed here in eclipse is a firm hatred or stigma for OOC talking. Now I understand you should never mix, but the amount of times you get told "Dont talk to me OOC" while asking a question that is "OOC" to get a better handle on the situation is unprecedented. So to better help me understand where this comes from I would like everyone's honest opinions on it, is there next to no situation where OOC clarification can be utilized to enrich gameplay? Or is this just a trend that people have developed to justify a lack of clarity. I feel like OOC conversation happening from time to time can enrich the experience by giving context where there is none, but I want to know what you guys think :).

Because if you go to prison with an empty bag you can RP use it to suffocate somone to death, we've seen clothes used to hang themselves, and all sorts of craziness... but PD definitely should only be taking active evidence, the rest should be stored at DOC for return after release, unfortunately we dont have any manner of storing things... I hate having to tell inmates that get out that we "lost" their stuff.. its unprofessional feeling IC, and OOC I have to explain that it despawned.... it definitely needs work, we put in for a system ages ago. At least a house stash would be acceptable o.o so stuff doesnt disappear.

Yea I actually love the "Idea" of what they did, but the implementation is a bit lacking... There needs to be a consistent stream of work for a job to be viable... jobs are nice from the actual stores, but in reality what you get is a lot of unregulated gaming of the system for cheaper resources... or jobs that pay the driver 500 dollars... to go across the map... or just a drought of jobs all together.. I hope it gets a little work soon. Also your signature gave me a seizure...

This is my point of contention... I work at the DOC and 90% of the time the people sentenced didn't have proper investigations, no legal argument, no nothing... just a bunch of PD players not bound by admin code jailing people at whim... and I swear to god if somebody says a word about IA I will start posting screenshots of all the halfassed answers to IA reports I have gotten back that all ultimately result in "not in the wrong".

I will note that by saying things like "advantage over" it does not serve your argument as it just makes you look like a play to win on an RP server... right now business operation is a nearly untapped RP potential on this server which is why it could be better to expand it and open it to more hands instead of the current system that is essentially just expanded welfare tenure for those of high status to begin with... It could be and should be objectively better. It is an experiences, but an overly gated and locked down one... I think its important to keep things revolving, its similar to the housing market argument right now... I am a proud owner of a nice house in vinewood... which adds a lot to my play... but unfortunately many players will not have access to this until a more inclusive system for lower end housing is devised... and using that example to compare to businesses... it makes sense, inclusive is important, a lot of things on this server would serve it more if they were a revolving door instead of a lock and key.

-1 My big problem with this is that most PD officers just throw charges around because they feel like it, not because they have proof or RP proof. The Chief of police literally told me they are allowed to powergame by cramming a door shut with their cars to catch 3 armed men with 1 officer... and it is allowed... Until there is a way to fight criminal charges giving police the ability to take away 8 hours of in game time from a person is fucking ludicrous. Also I would never suggest anyone get 8 hours max right away regardless of their crime, maximum sentence should be increased upon multiple visits, so if you have a guy that has 130 charges and 15 visits to prison, maybe he gets 8 hours if convicted, or absolute proof is given, but right now between the speed cameras and there no current governmental solution to criminal charges or realistic crime RP to begin with, a static 8 hour jailtime is just a lazy solution at best that will cause more harm than good. Give people things to do scripted in the prison to reduce jailtime or at least be entertained, then maybe talk increase...

Truck driving is currently a bigger disaster than it has ever been, with the implementation of this new update which made Trucking finally a fair paying job it's simultaneously took away the availability of the job completely... I like the idea of receiving orders from private shop owners for large amounts that we can deliver to make a better profit but those should be reserved for those who actually owned trucks so it's not every person who presses "Y" fighting over the rights to a very very very Limited of jobs... and they should bring back government contracts lesser amounts but more than they used to be because the job was always garbage pay so that even when there are no special contracts from private store owners those of us that just enjoy trucking and the trucking lifestyle actually do the job instead of sitting idle an hour to fight for a chance to take a $1,500 delivery.... I know that the update is still new and there are lots of growing pains but this is the second time I have seen the trucking job fall to a backseat for attention... it used to be the worst job of any of the ones in the city, now it is finally barely Fair, and every trucker in the city gets this crap over the $7,500 worth of orders replaced every 2 hours. ( not an exaggeration I have been sitting here counting) I will also note that orders should have a 30-minute - 1-hour randomization to their actual placement because right now in order to make gas deliveries cheaper and receive a refund from players the gas companies and other large companies are coordinating with their friends to secure the gas deliveries which would never happen to Union. PS: sorry for the white background I am using a voice dictation software because my hands like to give up sometimes PS: There is no way to flip a trailer over if it falls or spawn a new one...

+1 in a sense, I think the current own a business system is bunk, most of them are owned by admins, gang leaders, and other people who have been in the server for ages... like on the day of the general store update, 3 of the most popular stores were camped by zetas with assault weapons because they knew they could buy it if nobody could get to it... the whole system should be redone, the government should "lease" the businesses to people on a two week basis, allowing a cycle of players to experience owning and running a business, and any stores not in lease would default to government run, and all business types should have a wait list, want to run a gas shop, put your name on the list and when your turn is up you have 3 days to pay for your lease or it goes to the next on the list. I know a lot of old influential people will hate this suggestion, but I think its important for server growth and fair play that companies like the gas stations dont get held by a persons alt character... I mean Indy Marcello owned a gas station for like... ages... while being the head of a faction business LSC... while there are tons of ready and active and hungry newer players that have more time to put into it but dont have the money to buy out the mega rich store owners near infinite wealth ever... SO for something functional like store owning, that is scripted, it should not be locked to 1 person forever until they finally decide they have enough, because most of them never have enough... it should be a revolving door until more scripting can be done...

Definitely need more of them, DOC officers are told we cannot park in our parking lot unless we are actively on duty, which wouldnt be a problem except its a 5-10 minute drive into town every time we log off for 45 minutes to go to dinner or face getting our cars admin deleted... so I agree whole heartedly with more parking garages, but NCZ seems problematic or at least unnecessary...

I like to read reports on my own time just to see the way admins rule on stuff and one caught my eye because I happen to know people on both sides. It has been replied that all commands shouted from a moving vehicle can be ignored and shooting at their moving vehicle would be considered dming? It was also noted that this should be known by anyone but the only reference I can find of it is in an old report ruling... so I feel like that should probably be updated to reflect those kinds of rulings, I personally would have reported a few people for shooting at my cars in the past but I believe contrary to the belief, most people dont know you can ignore shouts if your vehicle is moving. Can we get that added to the PDF?

Why should it be split up haha, thats not how wills work, and its not how real life works... if we strive for realism a person can will their money to anyone... or anything... or any organization... now if we are just talking about game balance I would say pay a heavy cost or wipe assets, but they better not implement this until something about criminal records is done. PD has denied me a weapons license based on "name change without a CK is not acceptable for removal of criminal charges" then meta game denied me based on that.... so sorry nobody is going to go for wipe all your assets on CK to remove charges no matter how small or ancient.... if there is a system for handling criminal records, fine, but until then a hard no on CK asset wiping.

So what you are saying is write a will... you all act like death deletes money from the real world, it does not... and for many people death is profitable... and again I cannot be for this until they fix the inability to fight legalities, or come up with a system for expunging, because if you get a charge for a crime and live 20 years crime free, that record isnt going to stop you from getting a job, or a firearms license, but here it does... so yes to making it more involved, but only if they are willing to fix the reasons people need to CK to begin with...

I would +1 this but currently law enforcement has the right to permanently fuck up a persons entire character without legal representation and there are no legal means through which to expunge, or invalidate criminal charges. This is a game, it is RP and shouldnt be taken lightly, but if we are going to use the realism card lets talk about how if you say I lose everything on CK not just aliases, that is hours and hours of my life gone because one PD officer had a bad night. Sorry there has to be SOME means of changing their ways. Right now my friend has a firearms license, works for the federal government, and has had a felony in the past... but we have in real life... courts and shit... so half of what happens to people in this game would never fly IRL and CK is the last ditch effort to recover some of a bad situation. I will +1 this with the clause that there be a statute of limitations of felony charges that removes them after time.
