  1. Yea I just think people are missing the point in a lot of this. The cross hair removal was for realism... this isnt a win lose game... its a role play server, you shouldnt be getting into shootouts enough to need a crosshair... that is what we dont want in the server... role play more, I personally dont want a crosshair back on my screen... except maybe when building because removing stuff in building is agony...
  2. Yea I do wish we had better speed limit notifications but I don't feel like the fines are too much, I rarely get a ticket and when I do it costs me like 800-1600 dollars... I make 10x that an hour while casually rping with friends...
  3. -1 The crosshair is not good for RP, it makes it feel like an FPS.... use the iron sights which is how you fire a gun in real life...
  4. Selling cars hand to hand is in no way illegal in real life why is it here? If it IS considered illegal in Los Santos which is preposterous... they would need to open up more ways to sell your car through city means. Also there is a big difference in a minor tax infraction and yknow scamming someone for the literal equivalent of 20 hours of work and having it be condoned by admins. I am all for devil's advocate, look through my post history youll see I do it all the time, but this is just egregious. There is no reason this ever had to be allowed.... and for all the people who keep pointing to tax system.... that is a fault of the server and the government not the player, not sure why it is coming back on them. When you sell your car for 8 grand at the bank you don't pay tax, you pay the taxes at the end of the year when you file your income taxes... because they havent figured out how to do that other than taxing salary does not justify a ruling that allows what I see happening. I saw someone say they saw much better RP at because it allowed scamming... can you explain? I no longer see people writing contracts and making deals and negotiating.... I no longer see any of that RP, what I do see is people stealing IC money and then just logging off which should also be considered combat logging. We strive for IRL comparisons but if you put 10000 dollars on a table and waited for someone to sign a title to a car in an area with active camera's, they would not be able to take the money and vanish into thin air... that is why those zones exist in the first place, but somehow somebody thought it was a good idea to remove that?
  5. +1 as long as they are for businesses
  6. I believe this used to be a feature but is no longer, probably something that was unsustainable.
  7. I have played both sides of the coin... and also the thing is, currently the prison system encourages "waiting to get out" instead of prison RP... our opportunities for RP at the DOC are heavily restricted by the unwillingness of many criminals to do much other than try to get out. With the prison getting activities and currency in coming updates, the prisoner's should embrace the prison life as part of their RP too, not just making cash on the outside....
  8. LSC vs Bayview Bayview has plenty of people on duty almost all the time... not offensive just saying that's why we have different experiences
  9. This I have been pushing for, for a long time. Criminals need more non RP destructive things to do. Preferably stuff like robbing a bunch of houses, not a person's actual house but RP houses.... maybe like letting them sell weapons to the black market to keep them from being sold on the streets at such low prices and also get some of them off the market. There has to be some non centralized stuff for criminals to do, perhaps a money transfer job... hell they could even make it so randomly a money truck delivery intel will become available at a certain spot, and the person doing the job would be alerted that they received information on a hit... now that person can run from the criminals, but they aren't actually losing much if they lose, and the criminals have incentive to quickly gather, set up a plan and execute the heist... it would be fairly easy to code with the current systems that are in place... and it would encourage a lot of interesting criminal RP.... if the person makes it to the delivery they get a hazard pay bonus, if the criminals heist the truck's goods itd be worth a hefty sum... this would keep people from stealing other people's stuff... and give criminals more support from the server. I dont know I am just chucking ideas but I agree... the current state of the server is a combination of things, Attitude - I want to win I dont care about the others Server Rules - not clear enough to support RP and generally push for altercations that end in OOC Lack of jail time - Ive been criminal and civ... and jail times are too low to be a threat of any nature.... Lack of criminal activities - the fact that being a criminal is shooting each other, working at one of the few labs for less money than fishing, or robbing every civilian you see for pennies... is not making the server good RP for anyone.... and more
  10. BS I work as a mechanic and there are often times when we are just standing around because there are too many people on duty... it takes a lot less time to repair a crime than chase a criminal, mechanics could do this job better than PD easily... the only thing is there is something to the "catching criminals with warrants" RP, it is not frequent, but it does happen so the whole system needs to be looked at. There are a lot of answers and I think the one thing most will agree on is the current system is broken.
  11. This would make sense but as someone who sees a lot of people come through prison, I can tell you 3 hours would not budge a lot of your career criminals,12 - 24 hours including offline time would make way more sense, because then they can play 2 hours, 5 hours or whatever and still be done by the next day... meaning if you get caught doing crime, come back tomorrow. As far as there being nothing to do in the prison, that is half your own making as a criminal because you decide the RP, and also check development...
  12. I would really like to see some of the "employee parking" areas of the city have parking lots as well... We at the DOC are like 10 minutes drive from the nearest parking garage and admins keep coming by and force impounding our vehicles because it causes lag... but we have 40-50 employees and most of us dont have time when there is somebody at our door to get off duty, go to our car through 5 gates, drive all the way into town, and park our car before logging off.... either a few strategic ones or at least one near the DOC....
  13. yea not sure if this is a bug or what but it seems like there are very few animals sometimes and sometimes you see like 5 of them stuck in one spot, and sometimes you see them running but they have been already gutted... definitely could use another pass over... also maybe bows for people that PD wont give weapons licenses to? So they could still kill the animals efficiently? Don't know if you have ever chased a cow with a knife but it sucks, too much desync...
  14. Oh no no no it is a great suggestion, I was just saying at the DOC we agree. We want this too we are just trying to iron out how it would work and what makes a person interested in it.... this would involve PD, government, and other legal factions coming to respect reform so people could get jobs if they went through a reform program and were crime free for a period of time. Or perhaps the government offering record expunging, forgiveness, or charge reduction based on good behavior... there are a lot of options but it should definitely be a conversation. We want any and all ideas to bring to the table on how to do this well and with good RP as well as preventing any potential abuse.
  15. It was paraphrasing and I never applied it to you, it was just the general tone of the thread from some of the posts that if you don't want your car towed dont do crime. It was not intended to misquote you, as we have actual quote functions for that, it was only meant to impose that suck it up is not the answer we need a real solution to obscene times, that is why I suggested a hybrid system where PD could still handle this, but if a person has no outstanding warrants they could automated pay their tickets and be on their way....
  16. +1 as we are already working on this in the DOC but it needs a little support from the legal side of things to offer incentives for doing so...
  17. Honestly this is super not true, I've had officers boast about how they just ignore impound requests.... sorry but its not the action some pd people are looking for and holding everyone to Victor's standards isnt going to hold true. Again I don't think it should be immediately automated, I think it should be automated when a response has not been recieved in a reasonable time, like with city bee's... give officers 30 minutes to respond, if they dont then let the car go through automation.... its that simple... and it gives opportunity for RP without making people sit there for hours and hours waiting on a PD member to stop sending 20 cars to every call because they dont want to do it...
  18. +1 I made a similar post about this where they keep making these off the cuff judgement to the rulebooks but the rulebook we teach everyone to go by contradicts those rulings. I believe the scamming rule is just stupid, we are using "scamming can happen in real life" to justify allowing CRIME in a NO CRIME ZONE.... and usually the people saying it is okay are the same ones who say "Don't compare everything to real life" a ton of selective realism used to justify this kinda of stuff... if its an NCZ make it an NCZ, transferring a vehicle by hand may "dodge taxes" but its also the only way to sell a vehicle half the time because the lots are full. Make no crime zones no crime, not some crime, or a few crimes... and update the rulebook so things like "You can ignore commands shouted from a moving vehicle" are updated and known and people don't have to deep dive into archived forum posts to get those rulings...
  19. Them leaving their vehicles everywhere could be solved by police impounding them, right now they do not because the system takes so long to get them back. In trying to make it sound bad you actually provided another reason why it is needed.
  20. This is an interesting concept, I kind of like that idea, guilty or not guilty... but just make pleading not guilty come with a big cost, monetarily and sentence wise.... if they are found to be guilty... that way people who are definitely guilty won't plead not guilty just to do it or impede PD. Instead it could come with an attorney bill and a much longer sentence... its not perfect but there might be something to that kind of system in absence of a fully functioning judicial system.
  21. Why is it that PD always disagrees with suggestions that give people another option than waiting on them haha, can't you see there is a good way to do this that still involves PD but also allows a fix to the unreasonable wait times. We don't even put people in jail for an hour and a half yet you are expected to wait at impound. Also not all impounds are a person's fault, stolen vehicles used in crime get impounded too, I personally have had my vehicles stolen and parked at the bank when the person was done stealing the stuff. Saying "suck it up" is not constructive, do you have a suggestion that would solve people spending 50% of their average nightly play session sitting in the parking lot?
  22. Yea right now Eva Cohan has been RPing so hard in this server for the taco truck life but has recently gotten a job at the DOC because of how hard it is to be a taco truck driver full time because the system isnt supporting. I mean think about it, she made a radio channel 222 tacos to you, a slogan, a jingle, she made a way of selling tacos for 1200 and giving people water as a "meal deal"... just brilliant use of what is there, but I think its about time people who wanted to RP as a chef or food delivery driver get some love.
  23. I feel like the system as originally described is just a recipe for abuse, however I think if paired with ways for police to snoop and raid the stash houses, or a system that basically makes it so they have to always carry cash on them as a criminal to buy things it could be interesting. This means they wouldnt lose all their money by being put in jail because it is stashed, but they wouldnt be able to use a "bank debit card" at a store or mechanic shop etc.... this would make it possible but with a hefty enough inconvenience to deter possible abuse.
  24. +1 for reworking taco trucks, maybe to food trucks like mobile general stores... though it would take some thought to balance so people dont abuse it.
  25. Just get your PI to faction status and you could get this kind of thing. It already exists in the server.
