  1. +/- I could see the reason from this.. but at that point you'd have to pay people who aren't playing also. Something basic though like.. days your not logged in, you lose 1% hunger/thirst, when you log back in, or something. Many games though, have incentives to logging in and playing for some time. I think a new suggestion could be opened pertaining to that.

    Laptops: Use as MDCs

I completely agree that all items in the game should have at least one use for each 'entity' Police/Criminal/Citizen... and I have been thinking about this for laptops.. Laptops should actually be turned into tablets that you can take out and be required while performing specific things. Police - MDC while on foot. Remote camera operation. Finger printing, photos and more. Mechanics / Citizens - While Modview is Open. Citizens - Acts as a GPS as well as radio. You can /speaker it, so others can hear the radio as well. Are ingame car radios are synced now with 1.1? Simply a /tablet command, so you can look like you're busy while AFK or Tabbed out. Criminal Hacking (minigame or low success chance, but similar chance to trigger an alarm or be discovered and locked out.) Cameras, to access them remotely for a limited time. Basic MDC information? Phone number, past charges, active misdemeanors/felonies. Shipment tracking, maybe even bringing back limited ordering, and requiring a tablet to get shipment locations. If the tablet is stolen though, only the person with that tablet gets the notification 5 min before it's dropped. (This way it can also be passed).
  3. With 1.1 now being more stable and responsive to correct damage locations on /analysewounds, remaining health at injury and stabilization success could be based on injury location. This would however, reduce options of injury RP and be more RND.
  4. +1 I'm actually curious, why even log players out or disconnect them? The time it takes to get kicked off, should be the marking that "you are AFK". This should display over your head... so anyone interacting with you, could also remind you. It should play a single, fairly quiet sound, when you're AFK each time the time "you are AFK" passes and reaffirms you're afk. You should be able to toggle /afk. Bandwidth and resources designated to that client would take a major step back. (depending on server load) Hourly bank deposits would stop. This would allow players to easily go home, but still, kindof be available, if they are occupied elsewhere IRL without having to log in fully again, and could allow players to be more, sporadically involved, even receive phone calls while occupied with other things, but still be available.
  5. Greetings, These threads come up often, because often, someone is not happy with their experience with law enforcement. Just to touch on a few topics beforehand, most seem generally not aware of they should consider when dealing with Police both IC and OOC. IC Law enforcement keeps track of just about everything. If you've had an encounter with police, they know about you, the more encounters, the more they know. True, Law enforcement doesn't always have the best attitude, because they deal with criminal elements all day. But, it's still IC. Surpisingly, I've not many individuals actually reach out to me OOCly about things. There's a lot 'behind the scenes' that drives actions, just because you don't know what they are, doesn't mean they don't exist. Very rarely do officers do something, without a good reason, there are a lot of restrictions and regulations. See point 1. for possible reasons. You can submit a complaint against an officer, this isn't something you can do with any other entity and everything is reviewed. Yes, officers do get in trouble and challenged for their actions, though you may not know exactly what for and when. Time served is based on charges acquired. These could span for days or months, they all add up, every action has a consequence. Law enforcement are trained and continually trained throughout their career. Law enforcement personnel can say anything to influence a situation or person, just like you can. OOC 90% of it is IC. Law enforcement is a highly maintained faction with a ton of oversight. There is motivation for everything. No one is perfect, very few have RL law enforcement experience. A lot of study, subject matter experts and contacts do exist, to maintain the closest experience to RL. IC law enforcement is very different then OOC law enforcement. Not only is there are a lot more actions RL law enforcement can take, then we do IC, but our 'IC world' is also different. Players are often not unreasonable people and respond in kind. OOC toxicity is filtered out very quickly. Players spend more time 'working', then playing, but it's a type of work they enjoy. And as @Bala stated. Now, on to your points. In the end, I don't believe anyone is unreasonable, or don't want to have a conversation about it, but it's a conversation that comes up a lot, It's often very broad with 'the whole of', when very often, it's very few, often approved RP or based on information that is not revealed publicly. If you want a little insight or have any questions, feel free to reach out to an officer IC and there are also community members that stream law enforcement.
  6. Island Vehicles Allow players to pay for vehicles to be shipped to/from the island. (Make a 'joint' parking lot where you can park/extract vehicles from it) Travel Aircraft addition would be amazing for travel between the two areas and give a reason to do so. (with restrictions of course) There's a "Port of Los Santos" building, near the truckers yard, that would fit perfectly for a Fairy service and there you could have your vehicle shipped. It already has a boat in the back. I don't think should only be restricted to 'Crim Life' however, the area could be considered, less enforced but any citizen should be free to travel there without fear of being hassled by criminal elements, unless it makes sense.
  7. Using: https://wiki.rage.mp/index.php?title=Blip::addTextComponentSubstringName (I believe?). You can consolidate all units down into a single legend item on the map with multiple, different sub names. At this time. "Store: Pet Store" I believe uses this component feature. In addition, all non-player owned stores like the pet store could be consolidated into that Legend item. Then you can browse these with left<>right, just like blips with the same name, but the name is different for each. Shops: Pet Shop ↓ Clothing Shop Tattoo Shop Barber Shop Furniture Shop While a government worker is on duty, the map legend fills with units quickly and bugs easily. The below would consolidate all units under one legend that can be changed with 'substringnames'. Unit: 11R12 ↓ 1D3 1K33 21L29 23L15 3L23 STAFF3 This could even be separated out based on department, but the less legend items, the better. Corrections: Player Name ↓ Player Name Player Name Medical: E2 ↓ E5 F4 Police: 21L29 ↓ 21L29 23L15 3L23 STAFF3 Sheriff: 11R12 ↓ 1K33 News: Player Name ↓ Player Name Player Name Taxi: Player Name ↓ Player Name Player Name ATM's, Freelance Jobs and many others have been consolidated in the past already, just by simply naming them the same thing. However, Freelance jobs could be separated using this method allowing naming for each job, even apartments, mechanic shops and many other locations. Freelance Job: Garbage ↓ Garbage Dropoff Hunting Grounds Meat Butcher Oil Extraction Oil Refinery Mine Mine Refinery Fish Market Tollbooth GoPostal Money Transport PostOp Trucking Yard Apartment: Richards Majestic ↓ Weazel Plaza 4 Integrity Way Eclipse Towers Tinsel Towers 3 Alta Street Del Perro Heights Services: Government ↓ Mors Insurance Vehicle Licensing (DMV) Scrapyard Bank Vehicle Market
  8. Shadow - Bringing Business Together The Chamber of Commerce came together this weekend with the leadership of the Shadow Corporation and Assured Services. After a few minor 'glitches' at the start, we started with our discussion and the turnout was amazing. The attendees ranged from curious citizens looking into business, maybe how to get started, or curious of answers to questions that could change the future, to entrepreneurs, government representatives, businesses and many more. While for some, business can be boring, this discussion really seemed to keep the crowd pleased, interested and engaged. Several notable were in attendance, representatives and also providing the event security, Alpha Enterprises. Government licensing personnel and one of our commissioners, even a representative of the Justice department attended and everyone were open to discussion, sharing ideas, asking questions and expressing concerns. Due to the amazing turnout, and the conversations that were brought up, it was decided that these meetings are important, not only to the business owners, but to the government as well, to open up better conversation and transparency of what's going on in the city, in hopes to make improvements for everyone. The next step for the Chamber of Commerce will be regular meetings, not only with the public and businesses, but also to have a representative directly available to the government and other businesses as a shared interest and visibility to all.
  9. This could bring a lot more direct, citizen, government and business RP. Instead of it always leaning 'cops -vs- crims'.
  10. still +1 Would love to see more boating stuff, huh @flow?
  11. -1 MDCs would require login, and someone who knows how to use it.
  12. I don't think it offers anything to RP, at what time would you or anyone even bother doing it and why? There's really nothing to gain... I'd support removing it.
  13. -1 Tasers are short range, only get to fire once, and the time it takes to charge, is the same time it takes to reload a weapon / cartridge, and IRL. I like that idea...
  14. Merged all similar topics and (re)moved to Criminal Suggestions.
  15. I'd like to see laptops have more, expansive options. For Law Enforcement and government, it would be great to allow laptops to be used as actual MDC's. They could also be included in cruisers or government law enforcement vehicles and if removed, limits there capabilities. This could replace a GPS (as they often have the same capability and are all tied into the same system). Government personnel could remove the laptop temporarily, or even purchase their own and be able to use it remotely. Or on a scene to analyse or operate the scene without having to ... jump in a vehicle to MDC, then jump back, get to the scene and talk to people again. TLDR: Laptops work as MDC and allow /mdc within short range.
  16. Merged everything about refilling water bottles in more places and moved to civilian suggestions.
  17. Shadow - Around Town Business is not always all work and no play. We're out looking to visit with others, exploring the town and new opportunities, looking to new changes, connecting with people of similar interests and doing the research... okay, even that sounds like work, but it's the kind of work you can do with others and the Shadow Corporation enjoys. There's a lot going on in the city and the Shadow Corporation wants to be part of it, not only to be that connection to what's going on, but to be that go to, for the citizens. Often, citizens come to us, police and many others when they have questions and we want to be the most informed in what's going on, so we can offer answers, and solutions.
  18. Merged all topics with similar to the new title, added relevant tags and moved to Government Faction Suggestions. "Elections, Politics & Government Structure"
  19. +1 Amazing idea!
  20. Shadow - Event Sponsorship Atomic regularly works with citizens and businesses to help sponsor events and the Shadow Corporation is there to help make it happen. This last weekend a group of mechanics with a common interest and idea approached the company to request sponsorship and assistance. The Shadow Corporation made a contract with the organizers, offered a reward, agreement to the organizers and got to work. The Shadow Corporation took the extra steps needed to make sure the event was covered in every detail. Offering the organizers some free ads, created a poster and reached out to law enforcement to make them aware of the event, in case there were any concerns. Signups began and the races started with full support and organization. A few minor issues, but all part of the experience and learned for the next one. Race after race, the drivers compete. This race, cars were provided by the organizers. Both PD, SD and mechanics were on scene to help out. In the end, the driver with the fastest time was none other than Paulo Witherfork of Assured Services.
  21. Agreed Would love to see a few other things changed, even moving a lot of this stuff to Life Invader.
  22. +/- I believe Life Invader 'secret groups' would be sufficient and something we already have in place. Additional support and oversight to these areas as well as loosening the rules pertaining to it would be the only requirement.
