Script to check duration of license suspensions
Quietthecutie replied to SquirtleSquad's topic in Game Suggestions
I mean if we are really going down this road, add it as a feature at the DMV. they would be THE people who would know this... Yes it would mean having to drive down to the DMV, or have a friend drive you. but it means you dont have to bug cops and we wouldnt get the inevitable "NON EMERGENCY - need an officer to check my licence." 911 calls... -

Taking a leap of faith, as with other parts of the script that are used to aquire information, such as stats, salary, etc. for each of those just use your rp brain to be like "my character just called x authority to check this..." so for your licence, rply you could just say your character called up the DMV, assked his details to be checked and a time given for when his licence would be unsuspended. this just condenses what would be rather pointless 1 person RP into something quick and easy. im down for it. +1 -
how do you propose to make solid water intelligent? Jokes aside. its for 1 month of the year. by the time we are done complaining its already gone and its also the least active time of year. i dont see it as a big issue tbh.

Im very sorry to hear this. I know we havent always seen eye to eye but I have a great respect for you and the work you do. often thankless and at a personal expense. I do think whilst we may not have an identity as a server we can all agree the server is more engaging as a whole when more people are actually out about and engaging with eachother. you make good points about covid etc. I do believe in the core of this community for better and worse. there are alot of dedicated and talented people from all walks of life that have made me stick around too. And also touching on the longevity point, the server, and all GTA5RP servers, are now officially in the twilight of their years, with GTA6 on the horizon and what i will expect to be a much more fleshed out and dedicated Pserver community coming for that, seeing as GTA5RP was such a hit. It is uncertain but exciting times we are about to find ourselves in. -

I think thats just not the direction the server wants to go in, and for good reason. every gameplay decision is based on trying to shake people outa that grind mentality. they want people to interact. not vibe at a lab or other location without really doing much outside of their circle. -

Requires me to ask why a small time group or solo crim would give a rats ass about maintaining turf. surely that's the stage at which you should look to level up your game, create or join an organised crime group. and reap the benefits that come with it. If you are not willing/able to accomplish that, why should you reap the benefits that other orgs have worked hard to get? and failing that, why cant you just buy your drugs in from a larger group you are on good terms with. again, this is all about building crim RP and part of that is interactions with other orgs, be them friendly or otherwise. If you purely want to keep a low profile, not engage in these activities, not invest time and effort into acquiring the resources to do so, then the solution isn't to make the whole process easier or more accessible, the solution is on the smaller group to purchase their guns/equipment from a larger, more established group they have established good relations with, until they are willing to take that step. because they have already done what is required which, imo, isn't a particularly high bar. you are merely required to be on at least cordial relations with one organisation that can supply you, and they will happily take your cash. For context on my crim which had no major affiliations, I was able to get in touch with a few friends I had made in the criminal underworld, place orders with then, paid premium prices because again I didn't have the infrastructure, and was supplied with everything I wanted. I was paying a high price because I hadn't invested or was part of a large org to facilitate that. but I still got everything I wanted. -

Agreed. The bottom line is that if you choose to engage in lab RP, you also choose to engage in PvP. It is a PvP centric activity. as close as we get to PvP zones. now the small time group or solo crim can occasionally get very lucky and find a lab that no ones noticed or cares about and cook up some drugs for profit or farm some weed. but this should be the vast minority of cases. Drug labs Should generate PvP RP. that's why they exist in their current format, and why the majority of PvP interactions happen at these locations. its by design. If you are a crim, and you dont wish to engage in PvP, there are a variety of other activities you can do instead. you can chop cars, boost ATMs rob stores, burgle houses etc. none of these will generate the same level of profit you could potentially make at a lab, and that is because none of those activities carry such a high risk of getting contested or shot at by another party, therefore the risk is less, therefore the payout is less. -
This would also be very good, but probably a lot harder to implement. Currently how K9 ownership works is identical to the civilian pet ownership. you buy your K9 oocly through the pet store or bitcoin, then RP recieving them from your department. same as how we spawn them in and out. same way as civilians. So having custom models for LEO K9 units would be a greater challenge.

Removal of the racetrack on Terminal island
Quietthecutie replied to Tomvd682's topic in Game Suggestions
This is a laughable take. If your lack of responsibility and your lack of ability to hold people accountable for their actions means when you get shit on in game you dont /report or take it to forums, but rather just let them get away with it because "oh, its too much effort" then you dont have any right to go to those same forums and write responses which are honestly more lengthy than your average rulebreak report, for someones suggestion which has nothing to do with rulebreaks, simply so you dont have to. TLDR, we as a community have a responsibility to hold each other accountable as we play. the idea than someone would get shit on repeatedly and not do so, holds you in worse regard than the rulebreaker and just as culpable. be the change you want to see. -

wot? If people are DMing you...then file a report. This suggestion has absolutely 0 bearing on that. Its your responsibility to report potential rulebreaks if people are firing on you simply because your vehicles a particular colour. -

Quietthecutie replied to Tomvd682's topic in Game Suggestions
So long as its not an issue of "we have to manually replace this every event" I see no problem with the suggestion. -
I can definitely see where the motivation for this suggestion is coming from, and it is a good point that a lot of people probably wouldn't bother pushing certain reports if their gear was lost either way. talking about the edge cases, the 50/50s, the poor judgement calls in the heat of the moment rather than just blatant rule breaks. The suggestion makes the most sense in that framing. That said I still believe its more important that people who were genuinely wronged do have the right to get refunded. I don't believe the "meet in the middle" approach would work. Its too subjective and vague. one set of mods might review a report and come to a conclusion that the person gets a refund, another might disagree. it might even affect their decision making process on the rule break punishment which should never happen. it would add another layer of complexity onto the reports system and would actually end up making them take longer to decide on because of it. Therefore I see no way to implement this suggestion fairly.

put coroner clock on in the city.
Quietthecutie replied to Teenyinnit's topic in Civilian Suggestions
Im definitely down for this, ultimately the abuse concerns are wiped out so long as the regular salary isnt larger at burgershot (if its not bigger, salary farmers should just do burgershot instead) And we always need more corners. LEOs will call coroners as a courtesey before bushing a body or calling an admin but honestly i think maybe ive only see a coroner on and responding...once...in all my time so yeah. -

Quietthecutie replied to Teenyinnit's topic in Civilian Suggestions
I mean i would be totally fine with a second corner clock on point within the city. i think maybe some of the logic here was to try to bring more business up north, but I dont think this is the correct way to go about it. -

is there anything stopping you just taking out a new hearse? I dont say this to be a dick. ive never done the coroner job, i know its not a popular one so i just wanna understand. -
Something needs to be done about casual robberies
Quietthecutie replied to HormishVeet's topic in Rules Suggestions
profit? Robbing is working. you're doing a criminal job when you rob a location. Have Tom Dick or Harry tried robbing people? Provably wrong. there's over a dozen cooking locations that work in a rotation. Chopping locations less so but you have the option to do private chops. Have you tried aiming one back? There is a rule set. Robberies must be conducted in a realistic way taking into account location, time, risk v reward. if someone drives into a lab and sees you cooking or breaking down a car for parts to sell. they have reason to believe you have a significant amount of loot that they could sell for significant profit. particularly if you are offering minimal resistance. Then dont beg. fight back. take the fight to them instead. come armed and heavy and maybe youll profit more when you take their guns off their corpses. Please do. In short im kinda baffled by the suggestion. If youre a criminal driving into a shady location to make money, you should take precautions to protect yourself and your assets. That is part of the experience. if you dont like that or just wanna sit peacefully doing a job and getting paid, as bala said, plenty of legal faction and freelance jobs to do that instead. you cant have it both ways. either take the safe jobs with lesser pay or take the risky illegal ones and accept the risk. If you are struggling because youre constantly outnumbered or outgunned, then its also on you to form alliances, make friends and contacts to even the score. once again, part of the RP experience. -
-1 as stated the "glovebox" just means the entirety of free space within the interior of the vehicle. no ones cramming an AK into a glovebox. its poorly worded in the UI so maybe that could use a look? the /ames could change to "reaches around the interior of the vehicle" to reflect this instead of "opens and closes the glovebox" There was a suggestion not too long ago about adjusting glovebox size based on the type of car. larger vehicles getting more interior space to store things in. honestly i would be more down for that.

1. Private cars have rock bottom chop yield for a reason, it can and would be abused 2. 20k per car is a nutty rate. if anything that should be only for high end chop cars and everything else should be reduced. chopping can be as scalable as you like in terms of bringing more guys in to find and move more cars or hold your position. my biggest gripe with chops was never the profit margins but more how people would just rat out private chops to cops cus they didnt have the manpower to attack them themselves.

As a server which has always tried to prided itself on realism. I think perhaps this was just an oversight due to the size of the drug update and how this would affect the server as a whole. no one is sitting here and saying taking a puff from a joint should suddenly give you these buffs, but, they are now a core part for better and worse of the PVP scene. which existed just fine before it. I guess devs will decide that and none of us. Once again, I think a timer, even if its just for the first toke to recieve the buff. is perfectly reasonable. it wouldnt even affect most situations cus to be fair, you puff when you are in cover. for the most part anyways.
-
Again, this is just speculation, you are not presenting anything to back this up. and even then. this is an IC thing. and if it is true, then the debuff would affect LEOs too. this is NOT and LEO vs Crims post. this is a reflection that the current use of the weedbuff is unrealistic and unbalanced. there should be a timer, one proper hit of the blunt at the very least.
