Factions may and have placed their own age restrictions on their recruitment requirements as its their right to do. But the server in general does not have one.

Make things "bearable" or less "unbearable" for the mortal crims

Once again, this is regulation by the environment we find ourselves in. where not every crim, but any crim, can whip out a LMG of their own. instantly. And to be fair, from an SD side. only high ranking members of SED can pull LMGs and only when specific parameters are met, such as heavy shots fired, raid etc. Its not like we let anyone who passes out of basic just go haywire with automatic weapons, check that impression at the door if you think its true. You have to have been in SD for a long time, in the right department, and shown significant responsibility not only as an LEO but also as a member of the community to get that pass. I think a lot of players who do not have an LEO char get a skewed view of how heavy weapons are used in LEO departments. contrary to popular belief, getting even just standard SMG certification is a longwinded task requiring months of dedication, paperwork, demonstrable roleplay ability etc. once more with feeling, we don't just hand that out. -

I dont wanna get into a "havent you heard of...." debate. if you have a point to make, just make it. you dont have to get all well actually about it -
Stationary or at low speed imo. The rules are in place to ensure that icly, the tase can be performed as safely as possible for both the suspect and LEO. as many people are learning right now, driving at speed and trying to aim at the same time can be wildly unsafe (I have already seen many people trying to aim/take tyres at speed while driving and they almost always miss/eat a barrier.) each situation is different but i see no problem with an LEO on a bike pulling up, seeing a suspect running past, pulling out their taser and tasing them. essientally they are standing still just straddling a bike.

Checked this, you can shoot behind you just fine. you have to be actively aiming not just looking around in third person this extends your reach. you can shoot from about 8AM to 5PM directionally but i think thats perfectly acceptable given theres a seat behind you and you cant articulate your arms like an octopus

Its a deliberately unfair playing field by design. to discourage gangs from taking fights vs LEOs. a crims first thought when seeing cops pull up should always be "oh shit, run!" not "oh goody! a fair fight!" -

This argument doesn't make any sense. you're talking about deliberately unbalancing a mechanic due to monetary risk. There is no levelling of the playing field here. merely a begrudging acceptance that yes, it is bullshit that you can keep AKs and AP in gloveboxes and then a wild jump to its okay cus cops get guns for free. lol. Not even getting into this sizzling hot take. Because of reasons already given above. but the short version is because crims can also whip out heavies super quick, can instantly get it cracking or run us from a normal pursuit into an ambush vs multiple people set up with armour and heavies. and telling which ones will and which ones wont is almost impossible and we don't have time for a city hall debate over radio each time. Ultimately LEOs are reactionary factions. Their behaviour and policies are dictated by their working environment. and in this working environment what you're asking for wouldn't work UNLESS crims are also happy to make concessions themselves that can make the changes workable. such as about what can be put in a glovebox. -

There is a vein of truth to what youre trying to say. Its Admirable. but at the end of the day this is a videogame. therefore videogame balance superceedes realism by requirement. no one is disregarding realism, and the ruleset always tries to be as close to realistic as possible. but this is not always possible because again, videogame logic, videogame controls, videogame mechanics. -

See my above comment explaining why this is a thing, including the fact that any crim can have an AK and Armour in their glovebox, as well as the potential to resolve that issue if suddenly that wasnt a thing. its give and take and simply declaring something as IRL unrealistic dosent mean it shouldnt happen on a server which (lets all be honest) isnt. If you want all LEOs to suddenly not have heavies on their backs, crims would have to conceede the ability to store heavies in gloveboxes. as this also breaks your "unrealistic" rule and thus, would be hypocritical to forget. that would be the only way it would possibly work. -
This is the way. Shooting out tyres of one speeding vehicle from another speeding vehicle should be much harder.

Ultimately this is where most suggestions unfortunately break down. Neither side is willing to compromise so on we go. and it would have to be a COMPROMISE. If one side wants to change the others use of heavy weapons, they must look at their own side also. -

I would consider this if Criminals also had to RP taking out their heavies. but ya dont, all you gotta do is hotswap it into your inventory from your glovebox. Its instant. And ultimately we play on a server where potentially anyone has an AK and armour in their glovebox. LEOs weapons are tied to their character, they cant hotswap them like crims can. But even this wouldnt work in gameplay because the moment the crim would rp taking out their AK the cops would start drawing and you get into FRP territory. and that would go double if it suddenly became ooc knowlege cops cant unrack a heavy unless they have been shot at by or seen one. and even if both parties agreed they have to RP it, and the script was changed to allow cops the same fluidity of inventory as crims. its still wouldnt work because its just turn into a typing tutor for who can "/me pulls out their heavy and racks it" fastest. Cops dont complain when suddenly the smiling, well meaning felon who they had pulled over magically materialises an AK and AP on their person and is stepping out. but thems the breaks. Ultimately if you wanted this to work, youd also have to change glovebox mechanics so you cant keep large heavy weapons in gloveboxes, nothing bigger than a micro. which i know no crim would ever agree to so like i said, unfeasible. Again, not the worst idea, but totally unworkable considering the context. -
Yes, Yes it is. welcome to a GTA RP server. Where we want you to get into conflict and interactions on the map. if you want to secure a public location and ransom it to others for safe passage go ahead. no ones stopping you doing that. As your font is so aggressively small. im not going to bother to read it and just presume it is pointless twaddle in the face of facts. if its something other than that. increase the font as this is the most childish way ive ever seen someone to try to get a point across...by literally hiding it as best they can...so... good job on getting the point across that you dont have a point...

This is a question that can only be answered by the Devs...what i will say is from an SD side NLR Rules are obeyed to the best of our ability. and I have never seen us knowingly pursue a case where NLR is involved. On a side note. its just worth noting than NLR applies to the events that happened in the leadup to you dying. its not a clean slate for everything that happened before the date your character died. and that line is for staff to draw. not LEOs.
-
This is dependant on when and how you died. again this is why its really important to monitor your own deaths to make staff and LEOs lives easier when looking at this kinda stuff. to be clear. if LEOs are made known you are NLRed, they cannot. NLR rules apply. but they have 0 way of checking that themselves. as i said, its a 2 way street. LEOs dont want to pursue NLR cases because they can be voided at any moment, and its a ton of invalid paperwork then.
-
LEOs currently have no way to detect weather or not a person at a scene has been NLRed on their own. this isnt helped by the fact most people wear similar clothing and have similar haircuts. a dead body could be literally anybody, we do not have the ability to fingerprint them (Ironically due to NLR rules i imagine) and scenes can have dosens of em. When finding prints It is VERY good practice for the investigator/Detective on scene to reach out either to the person individually as to if they have been NLRed, or to an admin to confirm before opening an investigation. I always try to reach out OOCly to people to confirm this. However this is often complicated as prints are usually not taken on scene, but later. and also that a lot of people log off soon after taking an L making it impossible to message them. If you also suspect that evidence may be recovered on a scene that bears your fingerprints, it is once again a very good idea for you to at a minimum, save a unix, at best, save a POV and later discuss this with staff who can then reach out to LEOs and avoid any confusion. This is one of those situations that is again, a 2 way street. LEOs do not want to pursue an investigation that could later be invalidated, Crims dont want to get raided when they got NLRed. I dont know about you but every time I die I immeadiately hit my clip button. this means i can go back over the footage once things have calmed down. I know not everyone records but if you dont, even just hitting F8 and saving a screenshot can go a long way. I also want to make it clear right now that LEOs have to jump through a TON of hoops to get a warrant to execute a raid. this is for good reason. raids are a big deal. and there is a constant flow between SIB/Detective and JB regarding the particulars for each raid. many get thrown out. To say prints got found on a gun, thus raid was granted is simply untrue. A lot of roleplay and paperwork is put into making these things, which are always large scale RP Ops, a reality. With all that good practice out of the way, reading between the lines the situation you are referencing is one where no one informed the LEO that the person was NLRed, and then no one could produce evidence to prove the NLR happened. so its Schrodinger's NLR. one party claimed it happened but no one could produce proof it happened or that it was tied to those prints. Its unfortunate, but this is why saving POV after a death is always a good idea. You have the tools at your disposal to make sure this dosent happen again.
-
Oh thank god, I changed it to check and couldnt find that
-
Cops already have raiding opportunities aplenty. The reason more raids are not executed is in the name of balance. not because they cannot find evidence for raids. If cops and JB pursued all raids without any kind of handbrake on, half the guns on the server would immediately go zip. This is also a wild take imo. So the reasoning here is that the super rich crims should have an easier method to get even richer? like realtalk for a second, every point im reading here just looks like window dressing for "I would like a much safer way to process marked money." If this is not the case, then the current system should be fine. Basically this. As I said, the difference is in being visible in the city, moving to a location where crims are RPly aware why you are going there (cops are not Rply aware but they can investigate.) This generates RP and interactions with other people and factions. it creates activity. It forces you to ask "I have about X amount of marked cash, do I wish to risk it on a wash run or will I wait?" Actions, consequences, all that Jazz sticking a wash machine inside your property for me is simply a lite version of private cooking. on a very small scale, ill grant you, but all evidence suggests its still not the direction the devs want the server to go in.
-
The soloution to that problem is not making even more cash for doing nothing and getting exactly no interactive activity out of it.
-
Maybe we could set up our characters 401ks too while we are being money savvy. The server isnt that deep. If you have enough money, great. If you dont have enough money, go earn it.
-
Yeah this is just fundamentally a step in the wrong direction imo. Marked money as it currently works is like a bonus level to the process of unpacking packed cash. you did your stores/robbed a bank, hit an ATM whatever and then once the heat dies off you take it to a dealer to get it converted into actual bankable cash and he also hands over some marked bills at this point. if you want to run the risk of getting caught you can then convert this marked cash into more bankable cash by washing it. The risk/reward RP of this comes from the fact you have to use a public wash to do it. If what OP is suggesting was implemented, its just 5 mins for them to sit in their crib, waiting for it to finish. no risk, no reward, and no RP. might as well just skip the step and stop marked money being a thing.
-
There is nothing wrong with being rich, youre right. but its a fundamental point of server balance to try to keep the increase of wealth at a minimum, and to try to continue to encourage people to get out there making money, spending money, rinse, repeat. so atlas's point is still valid I feel particularly the "quite literally nothing" part, which I think we can all agree isnt the play here.
-
I didnt even realise this was related to that. it seems to have been really poorly implemented. if the timings bad, you can literally be responding to a shots fired, jump out of your cruiser and sprint in to help then suddenly be like "wait, why am i in civilian clothes? WHERE IS MY GUN???"
-
This seems pretty messed up. like I know people who rob the back of police cruisers etc. have done so quite successfully, and thus over the months have built up a nice little pile of spike strips for later RP. all this is gone now? and because faction members cant be trusted. sad.
