idk where youre getting this information but you are catagorically incorrect lol. 1. your timings are all off. sure maybe irl someone could smoke a blunt in a minute if they REALLY went for it. but currently they are smoking it in literally less than a second. the blunt has barely touched their lips and they are flicking it. if you dont get that then i guess i cant explain it to you in any way you could understand 2. it is extremely rare the LEOs take pills unless they have only just woke up NLRed in hospital. and even then thats just to speed up the healing process it dosent affect a fight. 3. Painkillers have a timer, and they provide no immediate buff. their heal is delivered after a significant period of time has passed, and it is delivered overtime. Blunts in their current format are instant, better painkillers. it makes 0 sense.

+1 This is one of the things that i dont understand about the current system. Blunts are so meta right now, but people literally just clicks smoke in their inventory and then immediately /flick before any realistic effect could be given. There should be some kind of timer to balance the effect given. when you consider the heal time from just basic food and drink heals, a 10 second timer for lighting up a blunt and recieving the buff is very reasonable.

unworkable tbh. Simply because the money output of a single house robbery isnt enough to afford cutting in a lookout also. on a 20k house robbery in order to make it worth for 2 people cleaning out the house top to bottom it has to be JUST those 2 people. any more would dilute the pot til its only a few k profit each...again..you might as well clock on at burgershot.

This has recently been brought up yet again in forum reports that currently, using things like the WI for a broken lock, or cars outside a property as reasoning for counterrobbing/raiding a house robbery is valid PER CURRENT RULES. This is something I still maintain to be massively NRP. for the many reasons listed above, including the fact LOCKPICKS are used to open these properties, therefore there would be no visible damage to even a discerning eye...over the years locks take alot of scratches etc even if youre just using your keys... if we uses something else, like drills or torches to break the lock. this would be different. As for vehicles parked outside...again, we live in a city where the streets are only so clean and clear because script/server limitations mean we dont have many NPC cars. so seeing a couple cars parked outside a property and investigating on that is again, moot. and should not be proper reasoning to check the property. rply the streets would be lined with constant parked cars and traffic. In short I still find this to be a massive footfall within the servers ruleset and urge admins to take another look at this. I mostly play an LEO these days and therefore have no real stake in this, but I still find it a real problem that discourages people from even trying to engage with this mechanic. It is, in a single word, Bullshit.

Speaker able to play mp3 streams, live radio links
Quietthecutie replied to Moose's topic in Game Suggestions
I think one of the reasons this isnt a thing is the same reason you have to pay VIP for longer songs, streaming large files or constant streams that could technically go on for as long as the person is logged in (possibly after if its a static item like a speaker.) All of it lags and puts strain on the server. -
usually i just alt F4 outa habit and im back in like 2 mins.
-
This possibly might be a balancing remnant from the private lab days. back then properties were limited in size to try to contain the ammount of tables that could be used within them. Apartments didnt need that cus you couldnt cook inside them. so maybe yeah it needs a look at.
-
ok im really confused on this one. if you dont like the interior your property comes with you can go to the furniture store and customise it how you see fit. as for the interior the property comes with, i believe thats based off of location. condos, apartments, mansions, shitholes. they all fall into one of these catagories more or less.

Change of kidnapping and hostage rules
Quietthecutie replied to tigerpet15's topic in Rules Suggestions
I just dont think theres enough Pros or Cons to consider there...its one more barrier for so many things....forcing friendship simply because you are in the same organisation...particularly in large orgs, dozens deep. you might only have a passing knowledge of certain members. might have only spoken to them properly once or twice...i dont think its reasonable or realistic to then put your life in these persons hands or the other way around....so i really dont see a blanket rule of "all gang members must consider eachother friends" as being able to work. same with legal orgs. i really dont think we should be trying to alter FRP here with ambigious rules and arbitary classifications. it simply wouldnt work in practice imo. Lets set that aside and focus on what we can do. i think the rule i laid up previously solves most of the issues people had around bank robberies i.e LEOs going in too heavyhanded or crims being too demanding when it comes to randsom. this way everyone knows where they stand and what the limits are in that situation. there is still room for escalation but not before a more peaceful outcome has been explored. -
Change of kidnapping and hostage rules
Quietthecutie replied to tigerpet15's topic in Rules Suggestions
I just think the whole idea of classing someone as a friend is impractable at a conceptual level. That is to say, its impossible to effectively do that. If its beneficial to be a friend, people will claim so and if its not, they wont. from a reports perspective, it would be a shitshow. and impossible to resolve in a timely manner. we dont need that. -
Change of kidnapping and hostage rules
Quietthecutie replied to tigerpet15's topic in Rules Suggestions
Probably the rule i would like to see implemented the most would be: "if the hostage takers make reasonable demands to the negotiators which can be fulfilled, the negotiators must fulfil them to secure the hostages safety. if the hostage taker makes unreasonable demands/stalls/asks for more once his demands are met then this is seen as an escalation." Something along those lines makes the most sense for me. as Demon said, for a bank robbery this could just be the usual safe passage and 5 second head start. all parties seem fine with that. in a pure hostage situation with no banks, it could be a reasonable amount of cash based on the persons standing, faction leaders, prominent figures in legal factions being worth more than the smallfolk etc. The escalation part i added in there to stop hostage scenes going on for an UNREASONABLE amount of time or just getting silly, keeping that constant threat timer ticking in the back of the hostage takers head and stopping them from just presuming safety because they have a hostage, which is just rule playing. many hostage situations IRL end with use of force when negotiations break down. This also stops us having to rethink FRP and the whole friends mechanic which i swear would cause people to do such amazing roleplay as "john you and i are not friends anymore." /time *screenshots RP Proof* -
Change of kidnapping and hostage rules
Quietthecutie replied to tigerpet15's topic in Rules Suggestions
Biggest issue im seeing is the "fearing for a friends life" FRP. because it would immediately complicate the subject and leave us open to metagaming on what the definition of a "friend" is. Is a friend someone youve known for a few years and never killed? do they have to be in your organisation? could you have friends in rival organisations? is everyone in your organisation automatically classed as a friend? are family friends? what is friend? This sounds silly I know but its important to ask those questions now because they will be contested in later form reports and arguments will happen around it. its a very grey area compared to the very cut and dry FRP rules we currently have. -
I mean honestly i feel we are missing a step here... Hunting needs to be fixed before we get into legal/illegal hunting. i dont wanna poke a chicken with my knife i wanna blow an elks head off with my shotgun and have it be actual gameplay... rework hunting so its actual moving animals you actually have to track and can bait. ty.

Make LEO /drag work like MD /drag for injured characters.
Quietthecutie replied to Lynn Foster's topic in Game Suggestions
Im totally ok with restricting it and LEOs are perfectly capable of this. Already certain units are incapable of carrying multiple 15's in certain vehicles not because of a script issue, but because of restrictions put on them which they obey (i.e K9 cannot carry more than 1 15 because they need room for their K9. no script stops them from doing this its just player rule restraint.) But i think this was never intended to be an intentional restriction on LEOs. more the scripts were developed separately and work differently. lets marry them up. Also additional note. we regularly get complaints and suggestions regarding leos taking too long to clear scenes. this would also speed that up so i see this as an all around W idea. -

Quietthecutie replied to Lynn Foster's topic in Game Suggestions
+1. The current script is a pain in the ass and i can only fathom its supposed to work like MDs drag, but just...dosent? definately needs a fix. -
I mean if you just glance at the reports section you can easily pick up patterns on the same 4-5 factions being frequently involved there. Said factions engage heavily in PvP scenarios, so its natural this would happen, as this is where direct conflict happens, massively increasing the likelyhood of ooc conflict or alleged rulebeaks happening. This isnt to say one faction is "clapper" or bad. thats just an oversimplification. but the reports are there, this is all public knowlege so you can draw your own ooc conclusions.

Stock Market Feature with Stock Purchases
Quietthecutie replied to Scrapper's topic in Game Suggestions
if its no more complex than up and down then theres nothing stopping this becomming a money printer which will not be allowed by the server. -
Honestly i dont think this should be made an ooc enforceable rule, not just for gameplay but also for the added weight this would add to the admin teams. if every "baited" chase became a reportable scenario, not only would this restrict roleplay but it would add one more catagory of reports for the team to handle, trawl through, and decide on. and it would always be a grey area, as reported parties could lean on a dozen different factors for creating the scenario they might be chased. proving guilt would be difficult and no one would benefit. Ultimately i think it should be handled ICly, and if someone seems to only exist to bait chases....just dont give them the chase. leave on the grounds you have better things to do with your time as an LEO than chase a person who dosent appear to be breaking any laws besides road traffic.

Stock Market Feature with Stock Purchases
Quietthecutie replied to Scrapper's topic in Game Suggestions
i think the suggestion is a little more nuanced than that. stocks go up and down and its all about getting in and out at the right times. you could make money, but you could also lose money. Like i said i can see the appeal of the idea. playing the stockmarket etc. but unless you really know what youre doing (and unless the system is complex enough to allow it) its a coinflip. The idea that someone could just log off for a month and farm money on their alt is easily solved by an exit date where the stocks are automatically paid out, profit or loss. for example if i buy something on the 10th, its automatically exersised on the 17th regardless of me logging on. this is common enough on the market. -
Stock Market Feature with Stock Purchases
Quietthecutie replied to Scrapper's topic in Game Suggestions
and who is going to develop this AI? this is one of the things that gets my goat sometimes in suggestions, people suggesting things which if we lived in a world where development resources were endless, would be aweseome and great additions to the server. Sadly we do not live in such a world. the development team for ECRP is small. Tiny....i think only 2 full time actually qualified and paid devs and a handful of amateur volunteers who do their best to help. as such they have to be very selective on what projects they choose to develop and implement. Theres like a million suggestions that fall under this umbrella, but ultimately we have to be realistic when it comes to what the server can implement and this will come down to broadest appeal and ease of implementation. this suggestion, whilst i think it would be a fun addition, would be a major development project and would ultimately only benefit people with the significant income to make it worth pursuing. and even then it wouldnt appeal to most people, Sorry for sounding like such a negative nancy but i really dont think it would be worth the effort. the time needed to implement this would take time off other projects which would have much broader appeal. -

Youve never heard of wallstreetbets and short term puts and calls? alot of people basically gamble on stocks and options and it would be exactly the same here lol. -

Stock Market Feature with Stock Purchases
Quietthecutie replied to Scrapper's topic in Game Suggestions
from a technical standpoint, stocks would be treated more or less like a glorified betfred, than an intelligent marketplace. The development of such a system would be quite an undertaking, would probably require constant maintainence and updates, adding more weight onto an already strained team, and ultimately, if people wish to roll the dice with their money we already have an extensive casino in place for that. ultimately, i dont see the point.
