  1. +1 Dont think this is an IC issue, cus again, it makes no sense. Realistically snitching on another criminal org would burn so many bridges and contacts for your org, poison your reputation as a reliable partner and an organisation someone can respect, that it would almost never be worth doing, wheras out here boys calling the cops for seeing a few tables going, because almost all criminal contacts are NPCs so theres little consequence. frankly i find it NRP/Play to win. An organisations locked down a chop spot, commiting half a dozen people, with heavies, a toolbox, tools and equipment worth 100s of thousands? wow, i cant compete with that. but hey i can call the cops on them and they can deal with it. Ruins roleplay just because people cant take an L. Solid, Solid game design...
  2. Totally dependant on the context. alot of events rely on a certain time of day/weather to feel realistic. so im fine with the swap in that context.
  3. The problem with this being changed unilaterally is that crims will no longer have any motivation in the slightest to not goof off, run off, resist tases and otherwise delay a scene if their time has already been started while they are cuffed. One of the best ways LEOs have of getting crims to comply and behave themselves on a scene is that "youre only wasting your own time, lets try to get you to DOC asap." that argument goes right out the window if we implement this how you suggest. the only counterplay would be LEOs then stacking resisting arrest/obstruction of justice charges which would take us straight back here.
  4. Im fine with the rain, its just the noise... its rare we just have a bit of a drizzle. its either bone dry and sun shining or a fucking thunder storm going on outside. light rains should be more common and quieter true to real life.
  5. couldnt be too hard. skirt for man. tartan skin, right?
  6. Im not entirely against the idea of someone being held "in remand." which would basically function as discretion from the arresting officer to reduce sentance based on served time i.e the ammount of time they have sat waiting for a scene to be sorted. How this is implemented and handled, would be something that would have to be handled with great care as we would be messing with that age old "IC actions, IC consequences" argument. genuinely i think if well implemented this could be a good thing for the server. it takes pressure off LEOs to clear a scene quickly and gives crims the assurance that them sat in a cruiser isnt wasted time, everyone wins? The problem is that, seeing as every scene is different, what "time served" constitutes could vary wildly from LEO to LEO. there would be no hard and fast rule or standard available.
  7. Realistically, any even shady mechanic would tell you to f right off if you brought them a cop car. The risk vs reward is far too low for them to risk their entire business.
  8. thats one side of the coin, the other is that the highspeed that just got its tires popped slows down and breaks off pursuit to go get a new set on. er go, they showed restraint and get rewarded for it. if they continue to pursue, and continue to get rinsed, then they will redline their cruiser and will have to wait longer. Again, any way you slice it this would be a monumental change to pursuit mechanics on the server. so i would rather we do it incrementally, instead of going from 1st to 5th in one go.
  9. I just wanna point out once again, that tyres being a reason for a cooldown on a highspeed was not part of the OPs suggestion, which was related to the engine light going red. i dont know how we got here.
  10. All parties are making good arguments. From the crims perspective, yeah, 20-40 mins of being a part of an LEOs scene RP might not be the best fun and might frustrate you. Ive never personally witnessed any LEO intentionally stalling the process, its honestly a lot more common for crims to stall just by being rascals, resisting tases, refusing to comply, running off etc. and thats all fine its a RP scenario you wanna be a silly little goober no worries. From an LEOs perspective, every scene is different but typically you need to follow the same steps in every one: *INHALES* -grab your dance partner -if they are hurt BLS them -cuff em -mirandise them -frisk em -confiscate weapons from em -ID em -get them safely into your cruiser -liase with the scene supervisor to ensure the correct charges are place -charge em -ENSURE IT IS SAFE TO LEAVE (this is a big one that causes alot of delays at shootouts or gang related scenes. because people have a habit of trying to free their boy when they are en route, thus LEOs have to travel together and leave the scene at the same time, meaning everyone has to wait until everyone else is good to go. if you have ever been sat at a large scene wondering why no one is transporting you, its usually this or making sure your charges are good.) -Transport them -Mugshot/Evidence logging -Hand off to DOC and start your own paperwork which on more complicated scenes is another 15 mins. As you can see. theres alot more to the process than just charge em and start their time. theres also the valid argument of this is a RP server and not every aspect you are a part of will be enjoyable or even interactive. periods where you are not really in control of your own character. good example is kidnapping RP. youre just along for the ride. boring, but necessary to let the other party have their RP fun.
  11. Jordan said it well. every vehicle with tints would get pulled over and unlike xenons this isnt something you could realistically toggle on and off, so your car would just be a magnet for cops. So, make it legal to do right? not a great option either, as being able to see inside a vehicle reasonably easily is a large part of LEO/Crim RP. Dont get me wrong i think tinted windows would look fire too, but i dont think theres a way to implement them effectively.
  12. -1. Horrendous idea. Set aside realisim for a second And look at it from a gameplay perspective. This would generate alot more troll behaviour and toxic interactions in a gameplay area that already has very poor rp standards.
  13. its not that difficult to save up that amount of scratch, either by staying legal for a bit and working a legal job, working at burgershot, chopping or just by cooking drugs in an RV. on my crim i was easily able to rack up 2-300k a week. which means if i kept my nose clean thats a maxed jug in about 2 months of gameplay. One of the most powerful and meta cars in the server is available to anyone willing to put the time and effort in. 2 months. And this server is old at this point, most crims (particularly experienced ones) have enough skin in the game to have multiple meta cars at their disposal. Feel like we are again, muddying the suggestion here, which does not include popped tires as a reason to have a cooldown. if a jugs tires get popped and they get it back to the station without redlighting the engine, they should be able to pull it out again, no?
  14. dont take this the wrong way, but this is cherry picking pursuits to suit your narrative. this is in no way indicative as to how most pursuits play out. particularly the second clip which is a clown car show in the middle of the city. I admire the craftsmanship here but ultimately it dosent change my previous argument, the chase had gone on for a long time and the strategy you choose was just to drive around really fast (and really well btw, good job) but at that point without any further strategy, any drops, any jammers, any blocks the odds are firmly stacked against your favor, and it has nothing to do with an LEO swapping out a vehicle. the odds at this point are supposed to be heavily against you. i really dont see a problem here....
  15. i would support an expensive item (10k single use) that takes your vehicle from red (permastalled) to yellow. giving you the ability to get your vehicle home/to a mechanic but requiring you to get it repaired before its fully functional. Essientally yeah short term we would be gimping mechanic callouts but it would help in those gamerhours where no mechs are about and the cost and single use mechanics would limit their use to absolute emergencies. If you wanna take this one step further, you could add a lengthy skillcheck sequence like the one for dismantling a toolbox and a signal mechanic where mechs get a notification of "an emergency repair beacon has been activated" giving them a chance to respond if available also. theres alot of ways you could play it but i feel there is a happy medium where people can fix their cars into barely working order but also keep mechanics relevant.
  16. Im a fan of this. +1 In the inventory its called a "glove box" and most are fairly similar in size, but in gameplay land, this is all the space in and around a car people are not sitting in and is concealable. larger vehicles should have larger space, smaller vehicles like 2 seaters and supercars should get way less, sports bikes should get minimal.
  17. 3 fish should equal 1 burger hunger wise imo. the fact you have to go fish and cook them plus the fact a fish you eat is a fish you dont sell balances things out.
  18. I would actually say in most cases its the other way around. or like a bell curve, swapping from crim advantage, to LEO advantage and then kinda levelling off depending on skill. In most interactions crims have the advantage of starting in a vehicle of their choosing, with weapons of their choosing against what is most likely at best going to be an stx or a scout which are middling patrol vehicles that can sort of keep up but at the same time are easily outclassed by common crim vehicles. the crim has a massive upper hand here. A timer then begins as to how fast LEOs can get highspeeds/air/offroad out and joining the pursuit. ((HERE)) if the crim cant lose the pursuers before the specialised units arrive, they are now at a heavy disadvantage as LEOs have just played their hand and it should be designed to directly counter their initial advantage (highspeed/bikes for fast evasions, Kamacho/BF for offroads, Air for both.) this is when LEOs have the upper hand. And this is where it sort of levels off and is down to skill and strategy and the ball is mostly in the crims court. they choose where the evasion goes, how risky their driving should be, they can set up ambushes, they can set up bike drops, do they take tires, do they deploy jammers or stingers. Now where i put that green marker, thats where the crims chances for successfully evading just by driving is highest. Past that point, you are increasingly reliant on a plan B, a bike drop, a shootout, a swap, a block, something more than just driving around fast. Frankly if you go past that point, dont have a plan B, get beat and then complain, you have no one to blame but yourself.
  19. I think the biggest reason the Devteams not hot on the idea is because aside from burgershot my beloved and a nod to roadworkers, all of them are solo endeavours requiring no help or interaction with other players. er go, not good for a RP server. The amount of work that would be required to change this would make it the biggest development project the servers seen in quite some time and it would also be very hard to monetise aside from VIP bonuses when it comes to speeding up the processes.
  20. Whist the tone of responses is regrettable, and some people could do with a touch more respect instead of making the suggestion very personal, -1. Context is king here. i wouldnt expect to see a supercar in a druglab IRL but i wouldnt expect most crims to be whipping a supercar as their daily drive IRL either. this is just one of those things that you have to accept about ECRP being a videogame, that sometimes the car variety is very meta orientated particularly in areas where they are likely to get into conflict.
  21. again i love the possibilities this would open but if we are talking about that "very certain type of player" this kinda falls under that problem too.
  22. honestly the actual effect is up for discussion but as it stands theres still no reason to buy them. if you wanna do it for RP purposes you can just use the panims now. should definately get a look at.
  23. Thats exactly what we do for every PVP item that isnt a blunt or (currently) AP. Again, its nothing to do with realism, whilst this isnt a PVP server ,its a RP server with PVP elements, and those elements need rules regarding them, this is again, why, you cant currently have a weapon concealed on your person. you can conceal them in a bag, glovebox or other storage area. The suggestion is to have AP, which lets be honest youll never have on your person unless youre also armed) also fall under this. it makes sense from a PVP gameplay perspective. I can only fire my gun when its equipped and ive pulled it out. so why is it Germaine that when i have a gun in my "pockets" its clearly visible and theres also a delay with equipping and pulling it out, but i can instantly slam my AP on and invisibly add a significant ammount to my healthpool?
  24. Regarding the argument of it not fitting in your pocket like a fishing rod etc: the gameplay balance of anything that might offer you an advantage in a fight has always been different than other items in your inventory, this is why any weapon is proudly displayed on your hip/back. i can store 10 fishing rods in my pockets, and whatever else. no one cares cus in a fight, it wont help me. this is a gameplay balance decision, its nothing to do with realisim. the Armor having next no no impact in a fight argument: While i have no evidence to support this claim, because i dont know the math, based on footage i have seen and bullets i have taken i believe this to not be true. body armor is basically an extension of your healthbar in a fight, therefore it is EXTREEMELY useful. being able to take 2-5 more bullets in a gunfight can make all the difference in winning or losing, which has knock on effects to everyone else involved. so yeah, AP is pretty powerful which is why its priced and procured at a suitably expensive rate. TLDR; comparing body armour to fishing rods or clothing items is nonsensical in the framing that this is a videogame and its a PVP item, like a gun.
